Not Accessible or Fully Functional

GoOutdoorsSD although good in concept does not fully work as is should. There are fields you can not use and do not display that you must answer. An example is dual verification through text message you are supposed to enter in a number but there is not a visible field to enter anything. Without the ability to use auto fill functions in that spot you cannot verify yourself. This is not the only place where this kind of thing happens. Additionally there are things that are required that are not stated to be required and they dump information as you try to submit applications. Not a well thought out and usable app as it has many bugs. You can’t copy and paste into fields and the keyboard doesn’t always appear so have fun trying to use it

All but useless

This could be a really effective app, but it is so poorly executed that it’s basically useless. You can use it to buy passes into Parks. The information booklets are useful and can be downloaded which is nice. However, the map functions are just terrible. The legend does not give you information, you cannot click to get information on any of the areas that are highlighted.. You cannot download sections of the map because it errors out every time you try. Tons of the area we fish and hunt do not have cell service.. You have to be able to download to make this useful. Quality assurance, clearly lacking when this was elevated.

Change it back

This is is useless now. I used to be able to look up public hunting areas and see what the different symbols and colors meant for that spot. Whenever I wanted to go to a spot the gps would help me get there, but now I there is nothing. Also with the new version I can just look everything up on the website.

Fishing license

I have gotten my fishing license online for years. Tonight I went to your site and it asked for my email and password. I have signed in with a user name NOT my email. The password is not attached to my email only goes with my user name. Why has this changed? Now I can’t sign in to get a license. I’ll keep trying to figure this out.
This site is confusing for a senior who is just trying to get a license.

Horrible changes for multiple reservations

I think they are trying to avoid groups or break them up. Terribly lengthy process to reserve more than 1 site and as fast as they are reserved now probably not getting them together. Why would I want to keep shopping and start over from the beginning selecting the park and dates all over after having to confirm the site?

D-

Purchased a one day out-of-state fishing license. The web site is not user friendly. All the information is there…somewhere…it is like playing Where’s Waldo. It did a very poor job of guiding me through the process. It was confusing to figure out what “required” box I failed to complete due to the lack of organization and absence of guidance. Compared to other sites of similar nature, a one star rating is generous.

Maps/GPS offline option needed.

The maps and GPS application works great at the hotel but does not work when you are north east of Aberdeen where the cell coverage is week. GoOutdoorsSD needs to use a downloaded version of the maps so it can be used to navigate to public access hunting land while driving. GoOutdoorsSD is a must have tool for visitors that only get to hunt in this great area once a year.

Horrible user experience

Both the web version and GoOutdoorsSD version of this registration system drove me to the verge of literal madness. Last year I remember having no issues but this new system is slow, unforgiving, and requires multiple tries to actually complete a transaction. Horrible interface that requires like 30 minutes of patience. Fix the bugs, friends- this version is not a winner.

Absolutely terrible since the latest update.

I’ve used GoOutdoorsSD to store all my hunting licenses, make camping reservations, etc. Since the update,GoOutdoorsSD is pretty much worthless. I’m logged in, trying to make a camping reservation, it asks me to log in again, and it’s just round and round we go.

I can see my profile, my hunting licenses, but, I can’t access anything else. And what’s worse is the website directs you to downloading this worthless app.

Unpractical

This is a very difficult app to use and will get you in trouble if your not very careful. I got a ticket because my dates were off but when you edit the dates and save them you cant see the revised dates unless you search to try to find the edited dates which is very difficult or impossible is rural ares with limited service .

Abandoned app? Can’t log in for more than a year

Ditto what other reviewers have noted — this is a great idea to have digital licenses, but licenses aren’t synced to the phone, you’re prompted each time to login to a web portal to view your license. Not practical in rural hunting areas at the best of times.

GoOutdoorsSD hasn’t been updated in several years — when I try to log in to view my license I’m presented with “PROFILE ERROR - There was an error retrieving your profile. Please try signing in again.”

Now, it’s a useless app

Prior to 2018, you could actually use GoOutdoorsSD in the field. You could pinpoint your location in relation to public areas on the hunting atlas. You could navigate around the map by simply sliding the map around your phone. It would quickly reload and show public hunting areas in that section you just navigated to. NOW you can not navigate around the area. Try swiping to another area and it returns to your previous location, slow to load if it will load at all and that is on WiFi. Don’t even try to find other public areas while on cellular data. Please bring back the previous version!

App now worthless

Due to app issues, you can no longer download licenses.
The developer fixed the keyboard issue, but GoOutdoorsSD does not save the licenses. It requires you to log in each time. Be sure wherever you hunt or fish has cell reception or risk not being able to present your digital license.

I tested the "fixed" log in license feature, having logged in when in RC, then I traveled to the hills by horse thief lake and attempted to log in, and it would not show any information. A better way would be a password or touch Id protected app instead of the way it is currently set up. The way it is, I don't trust it with my license. If I get stopped by a game warden, they won't accept a faulty app.

Good concept terrible execution

Good concept terrible execution.. the idea of no longer carrying a paper license is great but unfortunately GoOutdoorsSD doesn’t display them anyways. When you click on “digital backpack” to view your licenses it takes you to a log in which fails every time. I was just on the website so I know I have the correct credentials. The error message is very generic so hard to say what the actual issue is. I’ve tried this on multiple occasion too so definitely not a matter of the site / app being down for maintenance. No updates on GoOutdoorsSD Store in over 2 years, so I’ll just confirm for anyone wondering - it’s a 1 star average for a reason.

PLEASE FIX ASAP

Hello. I can’t access my licenses through GoOutdoorsSD . I have to go through the internet, this may be a problem if a warden stops me and I have no service. So I am asking you to fix GoOutdoorsSD .

Getting there

My hunting license is in my profile, annually renews, all of which is great. However, my Mickelson Trail Pass doesn’t show and I have no idea about when I buy park passes. I hope my email receipt of my Trail Pass will be sufficient as I will not be printing anything. BTW, it is time for the Drivers license to be in my Apple Wallet. My Drivers license is the last reason I carry a wallet.

Getting Better, still needs work

Licenses are now working. Mapping is okay, needs some work. Transparency of the hunting areas is an issue. Areas are marked with a color overlay, but it’s opaque so you cant see the terrain features and roads of the actual hunting areas. Also they got rid of the topographic map, that was the best feature because it showed actual terrain features with contour lines. Satellite imagery is nice but once again you can’t see it in the actual hunting areas do to color overlay.

Needs updating to see handbooks

Will not let you select and read the handbooks in normal mode. Decided to download and had some bugs trying to download to backpack. Finally got the hunting handbook downloaded, and when you open it, it’s the fishing handbook. Fishing handbook downloaded correctly surprisingly.

Great app

I have never had an issue with GoOutdoorsSD unlike others. Seems to always do what I want it to do. For some of the bigger purchases I still use the site to navigate. Otherwise no issues and does what it should,

Apple keyboard problem

Selecting the “Digital Backpack” then the “My License”. Once placing cursor in field the keyboard doesn’t allow screen to adjust to enter login information or select login button. Used app extensively last season. Is this a know problem?

Thanks for the fix. Last years version did not require a login each time I needed my license. Can you allow license to appear after logging in once??
