You can follow your friends and keep track of their scores and current index, but I wish you could like and comment on peoples posted scores! Being able to interact with your friends you follow would be a great addition to GHIN

Using version 4.6.1. I played last weekend and was unable to enter hole-by-hole scores, with or without stats. I could view the GOS view of each hole, but couldn’t switch to the scorecard view.

Posting a score after the round appears to work.

Might this have something to do with the date of play being outside the active score posting season for my region?

If you and your playing partners have a USGA handicap, GHIN is for you. Index information is available immediately and the course handicap calculator makes prematch stroke adjustments settled easily and accurately.

After the last update, GHIN prevents the phone from auto locking. I understand why it would do this while using GPS but not while I just entered a score. I have to manually put the phone to sleep after entering my score otherwise the battery drains.

Generally a good app. Two deficiencies I would love to see fixed. First, would love to see the mobile version to support landscape mode. Second, the handicap calculator does not save the selected tees for added golfers. Also, would love to have the handicap calculator be the same for the iPhone and the iPad. Right now you need to put the people on each device separately.

The one thing GHIN is missing is showing yardages when you select the tees. I like to download the course and select tees before I get there and have the scorecard. Adding the yardages in the tees drop down menu would be very helpful. More helpful than the rating. I have to go out to blue golf to see this now

The addition of the GPS functionality is great, but please add compatibility with the Apple Watch so you can easily get distances to front, center and back of green without having to have the phone in your hand. If you added that functionality I would rate at 5 stars.

GPS does not work - maybe due to the smaller iPhone screen?? It gets locked in the ooenong page and will not advance. No cancel or continue button is visible and you can't move the screen or make it smaller to find a button. It's completely useless for gps.
Easy to post scores tho.

Any plans to be able to use with an iwatch? Would be a lot easier to use during a round then dealing with the iPhone.

I like the gps enough that I would like it on my Apple Watch. It is faster loading than other apps I’ve tried. Didn’t see anything in the upgrade that appeals that much.

Need to make it Apple Watch compatible. Would have my rating of GHIN much higher. I bought an Apple Watch figuring it would be compatible since many of my friends can with there index app. Sadly I found out by me using USGA this app I cannot have the same luxury’s they have.

I don’t want to have to carry around my phone the whole time I’m playing golf every other app has a Apple Watch app that you can use right on your wrist . Need to add this to GHIN for me to start using and paying

Love the this app app and love using the hole by hole stats and the hole GPS!! So nice. Used to use Grint and love this app now! Keep making improvements please! Also, make it compatible with the IWatch!! I want to use my watch to get yardage and input scores!

Let’s me get HCs for my group easily for days game. Tracks my progress or lack of it. Check in on friends across USA. GHIN is great and gets better all the time.

As expected the USGA is 10 years behind the times. Their monopoly on the handicap system hurts golfs integration with personal technology. 18 birdies, thegrint and golflogix provide an exceptional product compared to GHIN. I learned how bad the this app app is the hard way. I input round data hole by hole only to learn 20 rounds is the max this app will store. USGA should outsource ALL technology operations instead of rolling out antiquated “updates”.

The USGA time and time again shows they are the leader in innovation. This helps my game out tremendously! Couldn’t recommend it more!

What happened to the feature that allowed you to look up all the golfers in you association. Bring that feature back.

I really like GHIN. But it would be so much better if you would add the Apple Watch. I like other apps because I can just look at my watch for distance, etc.

Great app but already dated by the lack of Apple Watch compatibility. I pay monthly for another app to have the ability to keep score on my watch. Speeds up the the game. You’re missing out on my money!

After updating app to the latest version GHIN is stuck on the trial screen which will not scroll or close even after returning to my home screen. App will not work as I cannot access the home screen. I restarted my phone and now it does not load at all

Version 3.0, the WHS update: mostly useless. Can’t type in course by name without getting error. Can’t look up player handicap without getting error. Can’t get your course handicap. All you can really do is see your handicap card.

WHS is a big change. GHIN’s version 3.0 is a big change. Clearly GHIN needs a lot more work to get it functioning as it seems to be designed to do.

Update: Three days into the new update. More functions are working now. I am able to find local courses (turn on location services for GHIN, filter to your state). I am able to look up and follow other this app members. I am able to get course handicaps.

I would give it a higher rating except for the following issues. GHIN crashes a lot. Much more than is acceptable. The individual hole by hole scoring is still not working. I get a message that this feature is not available for the course I’ve selected. I don’t know if this is an app or local course issue.

Honestly though, I would be just as happy to see the hole by hole scoring and playing stats functionality go away. There are plenty of other apps (some free) that provide this feature and do it quite well. I think these extra functions bloat the this app Mobile app, sucking up device resources and perhaps contributing to the frequent crashing. All I want the this app app to do is figure course/playing handicaps for me and my playing partners and record my scores.

Just downloaded the new update. Once I got in, it took forever to post a score. I couldn’t see any previous scores or courses. I closed GHIN and now when I try to go back in, it wants me to log back in but you can’t see anything to login. I just started pushing random spots on my screen and it acted like I was in the this app number box, same with name but still can’t get back in. Deleted and reinstalled.

Still issues but doesn’t ask for login info and stats are back. Won’t let me select tees to post a score but won’t let you go any further without selecting a tee. I can select anything else on that screen except tees. Tried to post by searching for a course that I have played, and that shows up in Recents, but it can’t find course.

The most important feature of the new WHS is the new calculation of the handicap index. That appears to be working correctly. The second most important feature is the ability to determine a course playing handicap. This feature does not work at all on either GHIN or the web site. You can select the course you are going to play, then it has a pull down for selecting the tee. The pull down does not work at all. There also does not seem to be a place where you can do your own manual calculation by entering a rating and slope.

Just downloaded GHIN . No problem logging in. Looks great so far! Haven’t posted a score yet so don’t know the interface usability of that. One important thing I noticed isn’t presently included but I think should be is that there isn’t an ability to manually input a course’s rating & slope. If for some reason the reported course’s rating & slope is incorrect, would be nice to manually input the correct rating & slope ourselves. Otherwise, have no complaints so far and looks like it’ll be a cool app

How do you make your application less useful? Let the USGA write it. Rule #1: Don’t take away features. The handicap calculator is now tied to golfer selection. The old one was general purpose: just put in the index for a coarse and it spit out the coarse handicap. And the list of rounds played in last 12 months or current year use to give a sum/average at the bottom of the page. I could go on and on, but I think it is safe to say the USGA should get out of the software business. Hell, they do a crappy enough job screwing up an otherwise good sport.

Like others have said I had trouble logging in too but some how it magically got in after I closed all my apps and restarted my phone.

I tried entering the hole by hole scores but the holes are all messed up and I can’t even figure out which one is which so I gave up.

These people had so much time to prep for this but failed miserably in the execution. This is one of the worst apps I’ve seen in a while. Could be a solid app but I also could be a millionaire....

I’ve used the this app app for many months but the WHS update is unusable. In addition to the problems with tee selection and search functions I have found that it does not even have my course right! Ratings and slopes are correct but hole info (par and length) is totally wrong so I can’t do hole by hole score posting and stats. Lesser issues like failure to remember recent courses and number of holes played, too. Previous version was great and easy to use. This one is a real mess!

I just updated GHIN with the World Handicap enhancements. Everything looks good except the tee pull down menu generally does not work. I have tried on 2 iPads and 2 iPhones (for 2 different golfers). The other pull down menus seem to work fine.

Can’t give it 0 so it gets a 1. GHIN locks up on my iPad as well as iPhone. Intermittently doesn't allow you to pick tees, some golfers handicaps don’t adjust to the tees being played. Has shut off when picking golfers, an absolute disappointment. Too many bugs to list, come on this app have a testing group and clean this up, the old app worked just fine, look at your reviews it’s only going to get worse.

The new updated App has potential to be great. However, there are some bugs that need to be fixed. Most importantly the new this app app shuts down when trying to determine the course handicap and playing partner’s course handicap.

Once this gets fixed this will be a great app, but there is work to do!

So change GHIN ...and now require a log in that includes your this app number! Who knows that number? Ok...so, I look for the “forgot password/number” link....nowhere to be found!! So now....literally 2 weeks after I re-upped my subscription, GHIN is useless....
Yes, I’m sure I can call or email someone...but the key to GHIN is how easy it is to post a score. Fix it please, and fix it fast.

Downloaded the new app on Jan 8- and it’s not working well. Bounces out of app when adding new golfers . Also doesn’t adjust handicaps for golf ptrs when changing their tees . Also they got rid of the handicap differential when using course handicap for fellow golfers - subtraction beyond CISCO capabilities ??

After the update, to use app you have to enter your last name and this app number to log in. I don’t have my number memorized and there is no option on screen to get it (like no ‘forgot user name’ option). Called my club and they aren’t able to log in to the new system to provide it either. What a cluster.

Take GHIN down until it’s functional. Can’t even enter my this app number and tab to name. Keypad is fixed on screen with no way to move from this app number entry area to name entry area. Only way to look up data is to go online. Poorly done. Only thing worse is the actual changes to the handicap system. Nothing like going backwards.

GHIN will not display nearby courses despite my phone’s location services being turned on. Also GHIN intermittently works when calculating course handicap. Specifically, the tee choice option does not display.
