Features removed

Update Oct 27th- Thank you for adding back in the features you removed. Especially being able to see the whole race results from one swimmers results. Now...can we do something about the hard to read text? Bolder maybe. Yellow on white is never easy on the eyes.

Meet was once...ok. After the update, It’s functionality has diminished to a point of being unhelpful. In the older version, I could see my swimmers event result, then click on the event name and see the psych sheet or list of final results. This feature is no longer there. If that could be added back in, I would be grateful. May I also suggest adding in additional features . Making each swimmers name a touchable hyperlink of sorts from any screen, that would take us to that swimmers event list would be stellar. I don’t favorite all of my swimmers team, because I don’t care for the hundreds of notifications. But being able to pick a teammate out from an events finals list, touch their name, and see their results and upcoming events would be very helpful. And if you want to get super crazy helpful, the ability to request accounts to be merged. My swimmer has at least 7! My favorite list is llloooonnngggg but it’s only for three swimmers.

Wish there was a competing app

To put it simply, this is the most infuriating app on my phone, and the only reason I use it is because there is no alternative, and it is often the only real-time option, including the internet (sidearm stats, etc). Searching for meets is the first issue - sometimes you can get lucky and type one word associated with the this app title and it’ll pop up as an option - most times, however, that does not work and even finding the this app title via a swimmer search and then typing it EXACTLY as written does not result in a successful search. The main issue is how INFURIATINGLY SLOW Meet is. It’s not an issue of the this app director taking his/her time to update the this app. It begins with clicking on the this app *wait :30-1:00*, then you need to click “Events” *wait another :30-1:00*, followed by clicking into the session *you guessed it - wait another :30-1:00*, followed by the event itself *diddo* and diddo for all of that if you want to go back. Think that’s agitating? A third of the time, Meet crashes and you have to re-start the process all over again. Like I said, since USA Swimming refuses to create a competing app, MeetMobile has no incentive to fix these glaring issues, so I’m really just writing this in hopes that it gets seen along with other reviews, and the issues are fixed.

Wonderful, except for one problem

I just finished a 200y Freestyle, and my coach was showing me my 50-yard splits on her phone. I had never heard of an app that shows everything the heat sheet does, plus splits and places, so I asked her what it was called. She told me it was called this app Mobile, so when I went home from my this app I got on my phone and downloaded it, and I now I love it! It is amazing how in-depth Meet is, with everything it shows. However, there is just one problem which I hope gets fixed. When I go to the “Favorites” tab at the bottom of the screen, and then I press “Search for swimmers” underneath “Favorite Swimmers,” or “Search for teams” underneath “Favorite Teams,” and then I try searching for a swimmer/team, nothing shows up. Nothing even loads, it just shows nothing. To any developer who sees this, thanks so much for reading, and I hope you can find a way to solve the problem! :)

Great app - Feedback for publisher too

Great App. Love it for keeping track of results on this app day. Also love being able to see how friends kids are doing. App is at its best when results are near real time.
SUGGESTIONS:
1) One of the most annoying parts of being a swim parent is keeping track of when your kid is about to swim. Long gaps between events make it easy to lose track. Publisher should add a “reminder” feature that pops up a message when “favorite” swimmers are about to swim
2). Some events are now doing video. Grandparents who can’t travel would likely pay good money to catch a livestream. Especially if it is linked to the reminder feature. Same for parents who can’t attend. Opportunity for a revenue sharing setup between publisher and this app organizer.

Glitches,etc. Updated!

My original review is below. Yes there are still some minor glitches, but the main issues I have had with Meet ; after talking with the support staff at this app mobile is not an issue with Meet itself but with the this app managers submitting information to Meet . If you are having similar issues with Meet , it can be frustrating but I am happy to hear that it isn’t Meet itself.

Meet used to be an amazing and quick way to look up placings, times, and splits; but somehow over the past two years it had gone down hill so hard. Constantly glitching, meets only being partially updated, clicking on one this app and being directed to a different one, etc. I am more than happy to change me review once these things are fixed but until then. This has become a 1 star app.

Hope USA swim has more apps

This is monopoly that one company has a mobile app in USA swim. Their app design/ operations have been changed but still have a room to improve. Recently I asked the subscription period extension due to COVID-19. No swim this app in 2020 in all USA, and I don’t know what else I can do with Meet. Small money but they said they don’t extend my subscription. This is why I share my feedback. Everybody and every companies share the pain and work together to get through this pandemic period. I hope this company changes better. Very disappointed today.

I am shocked at all the 1* reviews

Eta: it’s so slow since i wrote this. So, so slow!

Is Meet perfect? no, but its pretty good. I have no problem with the annual 5.99 fee- I have very few glithces & results are pretty fast. Peope do reliaze that its up to the individual this app directors to feed this right? Real Time updates come in, but things change as soft touches, dq, etc come in & some meets are more efficient than others. Additionally, its up to the Individual Meets to provide heat sheet access, if its not available, then its the this app directors fault, not Meet .

it isn't perfect, but its better lately since a few glitches were worked out. But I do agree that the "favorite" swimmer is annoying, I expect it to take me to my kid IN that this app, but instead it takes me back to the all the meets for my kid, it did not use to work this way, so this is an update that is unwanted!

90% of meets that we attend are in here, maybe 40% offer heat sheets, so this would be better if it were higher, but the results are pretty real time and yes, you do see splits and relays- providing the this app directors supply this info. I don't think many people reviewing this understand how much is dependent on the actual this app, not Meet . THe info is only as good as the people running the this app and timing equipment.

Descent interface but slow response times...

Hi, my parents and I have been using Meet for years and it works well for the most part but it is pretty slow. Whenever I search a swimmer on the search bar it takes almost 30 seconds or 1 minute to respond. Also there is a long delay for some of my events when I go to see my results. I am using the premium paid version of Meet and I also have a very up to date iPhone 8 so there’s no reason that it’s a hardware issue.

I personally will keep using this because I have payed for the premium service so it would be a waist of money to switch to another service. I personally have to recommend other apps for checking swim stats simply because they update faster and have better interfaces but otherwise this is fine to use.

Great to track events; utterly frustrating navigation and search

this app mobile is great at presenting results of events, and even often (at the discretion of the people running the event) giving heat and lane information. It is amazing to be able to get results in close to real time whether or not you’re in the building.

That is if you can find the this app in the first place. It’s frustrating that after almost a decade the of paying for Meet, many of the basic UX annoyances remain: flipping between views that focus on your own swimmers to the this app in general are at best unintuitive and at worst (and mostly) impossible.

This is exacerbated by a this app search function that is a mere alphabetic lookup instead of an actual search. “[Team] Spring this app” and “Spring [Team] this app” are searches that will produce vastly different results - and if the name in the system is the first, the second won’t find it at all.

It feels like Meet could be so much better with only a few minor changes and it’s frustrating they never seem to come. But I suppose as long as my kid is swimming they’re going to get my annual subscription whether they fix it or not, so why fix it?

I want to love this app

I really want to love Meet. And when it works, I do! But it is very inconsistent. I’ve had Meet for about a year, updating when available. But yesterday at a this app was a typical experience. For most of prelims in the morning Meet was current and posting results almost immediately. But for finals? A completely different story. Some events have current results and others remain “in progress.” In fact, this morning the results of the 100 back, 200 IM and 200 fly are still “in progress.” And no, they are not the last three events- they are events 3, 5 and 8 out of 10 events. So many teams use Meet to post their events that you are kinda forced to use it. I just wish it was accurate and timely ALL (or even MOST) of the time.

Very poor search function

My kids swim local club dual meets, USA swim, and public high school league swimming. Searching for meets should have the same functionality as a Google search. Any part of a this app name should yield the full name as a search result. It does not do this. A this app must be named exactly as the hosting team lists it, but this is sometimes different than the name of the team and this app listed on the this app announcement. I often have to search for my swimmers’ names before I find the this app they are registered for. Location services also do not work. Searching “Meets near me” often yields only some meets near where I am, however, I still can find the this app by using swimmer’s name. It is frustrating that I pay for Meet yet it does not work well particularly with the search function.

Great for timelines and heat/lane assignments

We’re in our 5th year of swim club. We mostly use Meet during swim meets for the this app time line, as well as the heat/lane assignments.

I will say that Meet doesn’t always update in real time. Which I’m sure is more on the people running the swim meets than this app mobile. When we were total noobies, we made the mistake of leaving a this app during a 3 hour break and going by what events were marked as completed. We ended up missing an event, which was horrifying. Luckily, the officials let our kid swim her next event and didn’t scratch her....it was a valuable lesson.

Swim Parent

As a swim parent I love this app mobile. When my swimmer travels to meets with the team, I can still follow the this app. So can the grandparents. I can see the psych sheets and heat sheets. We can also look back and see progress in past meets and past years. My swimmer likes to look and see their split times and analyze their swims. It is easy to use and very well organized. My swimmer swims year round, but even if they didn’t, Meet is very well worth the small fee. I highly recommend it.

Super slow

I love Meet most of the time. However lately it seems to be super glitchy and takes forever to load when I tap on an event or swimmer. Any of it. A lot of the time it won’t even let me tap on it. It seems it needs to be updated. It’s been like this since the last update actually. Not liking it whatsoever. The search could be a bit better too. Only reason I’m giving a 3 stars. Would be 4 if it wasn’t so messed up right now. Also, the RealTime results are only updated to Meet when the locations WiFi is working correctly. There have been times when I don’t see results until the next day & at times it never updates for some events.

Faulty Subscription

I am a swimmer of 5 years, and have faithfully always used Meet! However, an update came around and my subscription went away! I was shocked because I had about 3 months left in the annual subscription. My family and I are on a family plan, and so we bought the subscription on a different phone and it didn’t carry over! I am unsure if this is a malfunction on the product or Meet , but hopefully it will be resolved soon! Overall it original my worked really well until the update happened.

**When I would go to buy the subscription on my phone through Meet , it would get stuck on the loading screen for 20+ minutes.

Swim meet data for busy family

Just downloaded Meet and it has already proven informative at a very busy swim this app with hundreds of competitors and even more family members. My wife and I manage sports events for our 4 children and are on the go pretty much 7 days/week, rarely both being able to attend a singular event. I subscribed to the annual plan for $10/month, but it seems to take a while to have times brought up in Meet . Not sure if that’s more Meet , the event coordinators, both, or something else. Would consider 4-5 stars with family subscription sharing…PLEASE enable family subscription sharing!!!

By

Worst update ever

I have had the this app mobile app for years and really loved it. However my App just got updated and I can no longer easily go from a favorite swimmers times to the Event overall i.e. after viewing my swimmer, the only way to see all the other swimmers times in his event is to go all the way back to ‘home’ then ‘event’ then find the event. This is really inconvenient and seems like a huge step backwards.

By

No family sharing?

Bought the annual membership in Meet thinking my son and I could both use it. The description in Meet Store says it supports family share. Turns out the information in Meet Store is deceiving. Even though Meet says it supports family sharing, the paid subscription is not shareable. So if more than one family member wants to see the this app results each has to pay for the subscription.

And without the subscription Meet is useless.

So if you have kids swimming and you and them want to see the this app results be prepared to pay for multiple subscriptions at the same time. I cancelled my subscription.

Why pay?

I am a USA Swimming Coach as well as a US Master Swimmer. I get the idea of having everything altogether in one app which is great but at the same time there is so many cons that outweigh the good.
First of all, you have to pay to know your results. You might as well stay after you finish your event to see the posting in person. They charge either 2.49 a month of 6.99 annually. You shouldn’t be charged to see what you swim. I get the fact hat you can favorite your own swimmer, but this is extensive. Second Meet is slow. Overall, I’m disappointed with how much effort you have to go through just to see your swimmer’s and your own results. They should make it a thing in USA Swimming to post your results online easily.

By

Blocked By Paywall

Yes Meet is free to download however to view any results or splits or anything useful you’re forced to commit to a subscription service (and we all know how difficult those are to get out of). The athletes are doing the hard part of actually participating in the events so I think it would make sense that they would at least get to see how they did. But apparently not. I suggest you don’t feed into giving these companies money for information everyone should have access to. Instead put that money towards buying yourself (or your child if you’re a parent looking into getting Meet ) a nice dinner after their competition.

Life Savor for dyslexic swimmers

I have a dyslexic swimmer that can not process information on a spreadsheet very well. I can’t explain how frustrating it is to watch your child huddled up with all the other swimmers on deck trying to get their heat and lane info. It’s a lot to process without being dyslexic. This matter gets even worse when the this app doesn’t make heat sheets available to the parents. Events with this app mobile allow our child to access only his information, interpret it in a more focused environment and let’s the parents communicate with their swimmer to make sure they are reading everything right. All swim meets should make this data available. We don’t mind paying for the information just like we would if we bought a heat sheet. Thank You this app Mobile!

Meet Mobile

Don’t Get me wrong this app mobile is one of the best swimming apps out there . But now with this new update I’m starting to look for new ones. Because one of my favorite things about Meet is that you could go from a swimmer to the whole event and see what place they got and every other swimmer in the events time. But now with the new update you can’t do it and I really am disappointed with this and wanting the old version back. The new update is they worst thing that has ever happened to Meet

Great WHEN/IF it works

I have never had so many problems with a paid for app. It works about half the time. The other half it has glitches that make it useless. Of course the times it doesn't work is when I need it the most...at an actual swim this app. Works from home after the this app better but that defeats the promise of "real time results". I've had Meet for years and this is an on going problem.

Most Inefficient App Ever

We are a swim family and have been using this app Mobile for years. It was was always horribly slow and inefficient. You have to back all the way out of one this app to get to another, no way to toggle between meets, and super slow. With the last update, it now literally takes minutes for a this app to load on our iPhone 7 and 8. Still runs slowly, but about the same as previously on an iPhoneX. We have resorted to using an iPad that has not been updated with a new version of Meet in years to be able to see results. If you don’t have it yet, don’t bother! If you do, don’t update!

By

Slow and not accurate

I used to love Meet before it was acquired by Active. It used to be great and it didn’t even cost as much as now. It doesn’t update quick enough and it gets stuck in things like location. I click on “meets near me” and it keeps showing me meets from far away just because my kid swan in that area once a long time ago. It doesn’t show me anything near me anymore. Not even meets from our own club. It’s annoying. I don’t think it’s worse the money. They should have it free until they’re able to make it work better.

By

Frustrating

I wanted to stay updated on my sisters this app so I downloaded Meet and when I realized my mom has a subscription I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how I could login in to her account so I could actually view the results. Turns out the only way I could access my moms subscription would be to log out of my apple id and into hers which to me is absolutely ridiculous. Half of my phone is connected to my Apple ID so logging out would cause a multitude of problems for me and my mom. I really think this should be changed.

Some suggestions

I think Meet is great but some suggestions I have, is 1. to make it easier to search the meets, because now to get to the this app, you have to type the name of the this app perfectly, and 2. I think when you are on the page that shows the event, you should be able to press something that takes you to the this app information part, that shows events, and teams.
