This is absolutely the worst App I have ever used since apps became available. Do not waste your time and definitely do not use your credit card here to order food or items fr m Martins. I spent 20 or 25 minutes downloading MARTINSFoodMarkets , giving them my email, phone number, address and credit card information. I then ordered a beef backstrap on Monday and Martins apps said I could pick it up between 6 and 7 on Wednesday. They promptly charged my credit card the cost of the backstrap and tax plus also charged me 3.00 extra dollars for a online order. Well how nice of Martins to throw that in at the check out. So Wednesday I drive the 30 minutes through the city to get to the store. I go inside to get my order only to be told I had to go back to my car, park in a designated parking spot and call them. So o went back outside called the number, then they take my name and inform me my order was cancelled. So I am about 40 minutes into the trip, already paid Martins. And now my order has been cancelled, no curtesy Email, text, phone call, Nothing!! Simply, your order was cancelled. Well F?!($;56? THANK YOU Martins. I still haven’t got my money back. Biggest scam during the Pandemic Martins taking hard earned dollars and promising food only to find out they cost me more money in gas and time than it was worth.
I love the concept of ordering my groceries, and the staff who assist are always friendly and helpful. However, the glitches on MARTINSFoodMarkets are maddening. It consistently shuts down, not exaggerating- every 3-4 minutes, leaving me unable to complete a single order in one sitting. I can’t even get though the coupons or weekly ad without reopening MARTINSFoodMarkets many times. When I reopen MARTINSFoodMarkets , I have to start all over from scratch.
I initially thought the problem was on my end, but I have recently upgraded my phone. I have also done all the tech-type fixes such as removing and reinstalling MARTINSFoodMarkets . I have also contacted customer service numerous times with no resolution. The issue persists.
It’s so bad that it actually shut down on me today while I was typing this feedback to MARTINSFoodMarkets itself! I went outside of MARTINSFoodMarkets , retyped it in my notes and copied and pasted it just so I could submit this review. I know other people are also experiencing the same issue.
I would love to resume using MARTINSFoodMarkets if/when they correct these glitches. Until then, I will be shopping elsewhere at stores whose apps work as they should.
So disappointed!
I have never written a review of an app before, good or bad, but this is the worst app ever!! I have never been so frustrated…on a weekly basis! Just trying to load digital coupons on my card!! I am not able to access the weekly ad that goes into effect on Fridays until Friday afternoons/evenings if then! Today I attempted to load digital coupons and got message that ‘all coupons had been clipped’. I had zero coupons showing! These are just a few of the problems! Honestly, I am so disgusted EVERY Friday (or whenever using app) with all of the NUMEROUS glitches/problems, etc., it almost makes me want to shop elsewhere!
Needs a lot of improvements. Some of the top issues are as follows:
- Having MARTINSFoodMarkets open causes my phone to heat up very quickly, and it crashes about 40-50% of the time. Possible memory leak?
- When viewing invoices, there is no way to exit that page and go back. No "X" button, no back button, can't swipe back to the page with the list of invoices. You are stuck there unless you completely close out MARTINSFoodMarkets and reopen it.
- Slow and glitchy navigation. Searching for an item, viewing item details, selecting store locations, etc. oftentimes results in a very delayed response or a blank page.
MARTINSFoodMarkets has more problems, taking credit cards snap cards, debit cards than any application I’ve ever used in my entire life. I’ve worked in a technology space for the last 25 years never have I seen this many issues. I use MARTINSFoodMarkets frequently there’s no reason for the last four times I’ve used it, I’ve had to call customer service. One time the snap program was having issues with your sister another time your system is having issues with the snap card being excepted. Then my debit card wasn’t on file but it was on file. Then the next time which was this last time my debit card information needed to be updated. Which took three hours and was only resolved after calling Customer Service.
I got MARTINSFoodMarkets hoping I could use the Martins Direct feature. After making my whole shopping list I tried to check out but before I could I had to create a Martins card. However once I entered all my information it said “error”, everything was correct but I tried a few more times… “Error”. Then I tried to go to my account on MARTINSFoodMarkets to check if something was wrong. I couldn’t check my account unless I made a Martins card. Ok well I guess I’ll just delete my account then try again, nope, can’t delete your account unless you make a martins card, so I’ll try to make a card again, “error”. 2.5 hours wasted so I finally deleted MARTINSFoodMarkets . My husband tried to make an account but he had the exact same issue. He even tried to add his phone number (from the martins rewards system) but after entering his last name and phone number, “couldn’t link this number to your account” even though we use it in-store all the time. Definitely not worth your time, just use Instacart.
I’ve been tolerating MARTINSFoodMarkets for several years. I’ve submitted numerous complaints to no avail. In fact there appears to be no method to submit concerns to the developer directly. Hence my need to use the review process.
I run MARTINSFoodMarkets on an iPad and iPhone. Both devices are current and using the latest operating systems offered by Apple. MARTINSFoodMarkets consistently crashes after about 3 to 4 minutes of use. While Apple has updated their operating systems numerous times, this has not solved the problem.
I do not experience this problem with any of my other numerous apps. I, therefore, have to assume the problem is with MARTINSFoodMarkets itself. I’ve noticed other reviewers have also complained about this problem also to no avail.
I was really hoping that the latest update to MARTINSFoodMarkets would finally solve the problem. I was so looking forward to use MARTINSFoodMarkets in a normal fashion. But alas my hopes were dashed again.
Please have someone address this issue.
These developers and tech support people need to get it together! There’s two separate apps, one for Martins and one for Giant (same company). For some reason my account keeps changing from Martins to Giant, and I don’t even have a Giant nearby! I know this because on the Martins app it kept saying wrong login information so I requested password reset, well I never got any emails to reset. Contacted customer support who sent a weird email to me saying my “password has been updated” but to what?? Who knows! But it had the Giant logo on the email instead of Martins. Downloaded the Giant app on a hunch and was able to log in, why?! Please either combine them or get your act together so that it stops randomly alternating! Never able to get the coupons clipped that they advertise all over the store bc MARTINSFoodMarkets is never functioning correctly.
You can’t change anything about your account on MARTINSFoodMarkets. Every time you need to update your information it’s greyed out. You have to call customer support (who is the most unhelpful, unfriendly, and stand-off ish group of people I have ever met) to change your information. They act like you are stupid for calling asking for help. Also, if you want to delete your account, you can’t even do that yourself. You have to also call customer care for help with that. It takes “three business days” for the account to even delete!
Why do you make it so difficult for the end users to control the information on the account, or to even delete it in the first place? This makes me not want to even shop at Martins at all. What’s the point of ordering online if I can’t even use MARTINSFoodMarkets for it?
Every single time that I am using MARTINSFoodMarkets, I am booted completely out of it several times. When I go back into it, I have to go back through the same parts that I was past to get to new information. Yesterday, I added items to my shopping list so that I could shop today. When I went to my list this morning, it was completely blank! I went through the hassle of uninstall/reinstall, restarting my device, with no new results. I keep seeing that you are sorry for the inconvenience, and will turn over the information to the development team, but, nothing ever improves. In fact, things are getting worse! I used to be able to add items to my shopping list, and they would still be there. Your development team is not getting the job done. I think I will be taking my business elsewhere. I believe that you are losing a lot of business because of MARTINSFoodMarkets.
Hoped after all the login issues due to your unannounced app merge with Peapod (btw why don’t you send an email to customers to warn them?) we may be able to access the local ads to add sale items to Martins Direct cart. Nope. We get to see the local sale flier, but then can’t add the products to the cart. Useless to see a printed weekly flier on MARTINSFoodMarkets if you can’t even purchase those sale items with Matin’s Direct. If I want your advertised sale items I cannot use your pickup service? Thats a bad choice to have to make. I love the Martin’s Direct service, but your app needs to update to give customers access to all weekly sale items for the service to be serving us. Hopefully that change is coming, when it does my review will change.
I like being able to load coupons, but every time I use MARTINSFoodMarkets it drains my battery. Today, in the store, I needed to load an extra coupon. I opened MARTINSFoodMarkets with 70% battery. It immediately starts dropping. Maybe 10 min later I check out and my battery is at 13%!!! I didn’t even have the screen on! I make sure to close MARTINSFoodMarkets and completely charge my phone. On two more occasions the battery quickly drops to 10% and I am not even using it. No other app does this. There has to be some bug in this Martins app. Please, fix it!!!
The failure rate for the coupon section is unacceptable. I’d say there’s about a 50/50 chance of it working anytime I go to use MARTINSFoodMarkets every week.
To be fair, this isn’t app specific, since the website has the same coupon outages, it seems, but hoping to get some eyes on it, at least.
Since coupons get added daily, I generally wait until shopping day to go clip them so I’m getting as up to date as I can. It’s incredibly frustrating to have the coupons fail to load and I have to check back throughout the day and hope they start loading before I go shopping, otherwise I’m just throwing money away.
The Martin’s app is super handy for seeing coupons and savings but there are frequently issues with search suggestions covering up the search bar, crashing and things freezing up.
One of my pet peeves about MARTINSFoodMarkets is that when you check items on your shopping list, they aren’t automatically added to your cart. At the very least, it could prompt you to add them prior to navigating away. On multiple occasions, I’ve gotten home to find that I don’t have milk or bread because I selected it on my list but didn’t take the two additional steps it takes to add them to my cart.
MARTINSFoodMarkets is perfectly designed in terms of user features and ease of use. You can quickly pull up your rewards points, redeem special deals, and add e-coupons to your card. I use it weekly and also pull it out in the store to use my grocery list and manage my clipped coupons. So it beats every other grocery app in my area (suburb between Baltimore and DC) by a huge gap because I can navigate my way around AND actually use every feature. Unfortunately it crashes weekly and is unusable for hours at a time. My phone is current and no other apps are having these issues. It can’t connect to their server so it loops into logging in until it freezes and shuts down.
I have a real problem with using the Martins app. It works fine if I’m only ordering a few groceries. But my order generally is around $200. MARTINSFoodMarkets can’t handle an order of that size. It always breaks down. Once it crashes, it’s very hard to return to my order. Sometimes it takes 40 minutes or more to get back on MARTINSFoodMarkets . This has happened many times. I am happy with the service because it’s hard for me to walk through the store. I really like Martins quality of food. But I’m considering using another store because of the difficulty of using MARTINSFoodMarkets.
App continually crashes. This complaint has been going on for a very long time and the developers can’t seem to correct it. Once you’re booted, you have to go through your whole past history, or re-do your search terms to get back to where you were before the crash.
Interestingly, I have responded to pop-up questionnaires about the quality of my online experience; both times MARTINSFoodMarkets crashed before I was finished responding. 🤦♀️
Also, it is difficult, if. It impossible to remove items from your past purchases. Confirmation messages show up at least three times for the same items and the items do not delete from the purchase history. It would be a good app if these issues were fixed, but currently it’s very challenging to one’s patience.
MARTINSFoodMarkets is fantastic for people who want to do their grocery shopping online and just pick it up, but the biggest issue is the functionality of MARTINSFoodMarkets itself. The browsing, features, and even coupons are wonderful, but MARTINSFoodMarkets is slow and clunky, and seems to crash incessantly with the slightest provocation.
If they sunk some extra time and money into improving overall app functionality and efficiency, I would happily give it a 5.
I only shop Martins and I love the store but vi have to watch the screen or check my receipts because too often a sale price is not captured and I have to make an extra stop at courtesy counter for a refund. I have ended up having to take pictures on my phone of price tags which takes up more of my time. I always have those available when going to courtesy desk. They are very gracious able taking care of price adjustment, but I don’t feel I should be having to do all of that. Otherwise I still love Martins and will continue shopping there!🙂
One of the best features was to “fill cart from last weeks order”, which is no longer available. This saved me a lot of time when ordering for the current week. Now I have to go through multiple clicks to place items in my cart, which is time consuming.
