Video 2 Photo Reviews

I picked out 200 videos extract stills from. I put them in a supper folder. With Video2Photo, you have to repeat way too many steps each time you wanna extract one still. To get to my folder I have to make for selections… then have to scroll down the bottom to the beginning because it’s in reverse, chronological order… then you select the frame you want and it goes into a breakdown of all the frames in the video so you have to scroll again down to where you wanna be and again choose the clip you want and then tell it where you want to put it. If the next video… You have to do this whole thing over again, and over again, and over again. What a waste of money believe it or it’s a waste of time

Overall a good app with two features that make it completely unusable:
1. There’s no ability to auto-export single images. Every single image export must be confirmed via a full-screen dialogue, even if all automated choices are made in settings. This gets very tedious very quickly.
2. In batch export, if you select a specific range in the video to export from, the export process plays the entire video in real time before exporting from your clip. So if you want to export every 4th frame from the last 10 seconds of a 5-minute video, you have to wait 5 minutes!
Besides that, a lot of nice features. Not nice enough to overcome the time you’ll waste, compared to its peers, on every single and batch image export though.

Video2Photo works quite well. Very useful for my kids as I can record them in 4K and pick and choose the best pictures, and export those frames as a printable picture! I just wish I had the plus size phone as the frames get a little small when I’m scrubbing through!

One star knocked off for it begging for my review. I fully understand the need for update, but nothing irritates me more than being in the middle of something and having to deal with a pop up of any kind.

Ok... So, i always end up with the shutter on a camera being a half second too late, making all my family photos look like they are actually relatives of the lead character of that TV series "my name is Earl" , eyes closed with dumb looks on faces. Now, i take a 30 second video with my camera and with video 2photo select a frame where its the perfect image! The only complaint i have is it bugs me constantly to write a review. Aside from that, its the best two bucks i ever spent .

I took some video of an incredibly beautiful lightning storm and wanted to capture a few still shots from it for Facebook. I tried for hours to get just the right moment ok my phone, but it wasn't able to pause at the right moment. I thought I was going to lose my mind. Finally googled it and a different, free app with lesser ratings was recommended. I searched through the first few and saw the great reviews and decided to go for it. And I always try the free version first.

I'm blown away by the ease of use and the quality - it only took a few minutes to figure things - it's beautifully advanced and equally simple to use.

I love Video2Photo, I use it to extract images for focus stacking in Affinity Photo from a Lumix camera which stores the exposures as frames in an MP4. The only downside to using Video2Photo is that when exporting multiple frames you have to express the starting and ending in time units instead of frame numbers (although frame numbers are the prominent display on screen). This results in a lot of flipping back and forth from export to preview to find the correct times which are often three decimal place fractions. If this were corrected it would go a long way towards user friendliness and would get 6 stars from me.

i tried a few free versions of this because i really wasn't keen on spending money, especially if i wasn't sure it was even going to work. but it is SO worth it and it definitely works. the quality of the photos is wonderful (if the video quality is) and it literally gives you frame by frame of the entire video - i went through two 4ish-min long videos and saved over 100 perfect, high quality photos. this is such a brilliant and well developed app and idea, i'm definitely happy w my purchase

Simply the BEST! You no longer have to choose between getting video or that "perfect" picture. Video2Photo allows you to capture the perfect picture from a video EVERY time. There is no learning curve...just shoot the video, open Video2Photo and choose the video. You can capture as many frames as you like- you have literally hundreds/ thousands to choose from, depending on the size of your video. Once you've found the perfect picture- just tap to select it. You are then prompted to save it to your camera roll, email, copy, print, open in..., or iTunes file sharing. You can also crop the photo before you save it.

I’ve never written a review before but have to because Video2Photo is so great - seriously, never before & it is that great.
I take a lot of pictures, mostly of people (my family not random people), & have a ton of photo apps. Video2Photo is more helpful to me than all of the others. Instead of trying to take the perfect picture now I primarily take videos. Then, using Video2Photo, I go through the video & extract amazing pictures. Every tiny gesture & micro expression is there & the process to ‘snap’ photos from the videos is super simple. If there’s something easier than super simple then it’s that.
If you want to easily take the best candid pictures of your life then you need Video2Photo.

I take a lot of photos of animals and I’ve been regularly using Video2Photo for more than six years. Some photos are of my own pets and some are of adoptable animals at a number of animal shelters. We need quality photos to promote the animals for potential adoptions and also at special events throughout the year where the public can have their pet’s photo taken with seasonal backdrops and props and optional costumes.

Taking a video always ensures I can find a frame to pull out that is the perfect shot.

Video2Photo has changed my life.. It's hard when you are alone with your animal and no one can take a photo but you and your selfie stick.... Which always come out hideous.. I suppose this theory works on people as well LOL...
However , my last weekend with saphire I was alone much of the time with the selfie.. All I had wanted was a few really good photos of us, to finalize almost two decades with this exquisite creature... My child... Known to others as a cat..
Anyhow, when i finally learned how to use it as a third party extension, within the photos app... WELL MY LIFE HAS CHANGED ! Im on to wine bottle number 2 now, and have around 30 photos alone that I have extracred, just from two videos !!!! I've got about 40 videos to go, so looks like I will get the frame worthy shots I have grieved over not having, as I was alone... And now Video2Photo changed everything...

Love Video2Photo! If it was possible to get half stars, I would probably give it a 4.5– but only for the reason that it could be more user-friendly. Other than that, this is great! I found it after trying to open an app that I used to use to pull frames from was apparently removed from Video2Photo Store. I NEEDED an app of its kind right then, and on a whim chose this one. That was probably a year ago. Very happy with my choice ever since.

I have used Video2Photo FOR MANY YEARS. If you have a video on your phone or for some reason your phone was accidentally in video format and you want to have a still photo …….. it’s so simple! I am in my 50’s and I can do it. Super easy to just load the video to Video2Photo and you can go through the video literally second by second and save a snippet as a complete picture and save as jpeg to your photos on your phone. Easy. Easy. Thanks!!!

This is such a great app. Perfect for capturing the exact frame(s) of a video or live pic. One thing that would make perfectly awesome is to do the same thing for bursts. Apple’s way of taking photos from a burst is totally lame and time consuming. With Video 2 Photo it would be great to be able to quickly scroll through a burst photo, zoom in and continue scrolling to get to the right frames. I would be grateful if you added this capability.

Original review: This is my go-to app when looking to save individual frames, but lately, whenever I post a pic I saved from Video2Photo, the pics look normal when I select them, but when I post them, they’re bleached out. Super bright like someone jacked up the brightness/highlights/contrast, and they look terrible. Not sure why…

I love Video2Photo. I have a toddler and it is hard to get a good picture of him. Now I just take video and find a good still shot in the video. I've gotten some amazing pics from Video2Photo. A suggestion for improvement would be for the images to load on the camera role as JPEG instead of PNG, so that they are the same as all the other pics. I have to re-save all the pics as JPEG before I can load them to shutterfly. But not enough of a complaint to lose a star. Video2Photo is awesome.

I take a LOT of video for foster cats, which are always on the move. Video2Photo lets me record a video and then catch the best frames. Sometimes they aren’t as clear as a photo due to motion but that’s the camera software, not Video2Photo. Also it does not constantly nag you to rate, inundate you with ads, or make you click a million things to get to what you want. Simple and good.

Video2Photo makes it easy to extract high-quality stills from videos created in other apps. The interface is intuitive and easy to use, and the resulting image quality is excellent. I find Video2Photo particularly handy for capturing fast-moving subjects. For example, I can take videos of my grandkids on a swing set, and then use the Video 2 Photo app to extract clean stills from the video. It’s really pretty darn cool!

I am blown away. This is the best app I have found. It have cameras on my bird feeders. I have snapped countless pictures of the birds that frequent them. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to capture photos from video. I use it very frequently. It is my go to app to capture individual frames. They just updated it and the new features are fantastic.

If you’re tired of the default Photos app blocking parts of a video as you scrub through it or having Video2Photo change to a different frame right at the last second as you pull your finger off the screen, Video2Photo fixes all that. It shows your the entire video with the controls placed under the frame or alternatively you can use a slick full screen view which allows you to zoom a bit but use unobtrusive transparent arrows for frame by frame movement through the video.

What I also particularly love is that you can automatically pull out the pictures from a slideshow video by simply telling Video2Photo to extract a frame at a certain interval (for example, every 5th frame of a video can be extracted with the tap of a button).

The only possible addition for Video2Photo I could think of would be to have the option of auto-cropping the batch extracted photos so as to intelligently remove the black bands or borders on them for slideshow videos with alternating landscape and portrait photos. But that would just be icing on an already delicious cake. Video2Photo does exactly what I needed to, and more, and was was worth every penny.
