I can make it my own

While there are two pre-built workouts to show you the way, StarkKettlebell is designed to really let you control your workout. You can mix and match the exercises (which are categorized as easy, intermediate and hard) to suit your needs and workout goals. There is a built in Tabata Timer; my preferred way to workout for sure. The only downside is you can’t did in music. I adapt by doing StarkKettlebell on my iPad and then listening to music on my phone or through the Bluetooth.

Does what you probably need

The few reviews less than 5 stars have some good points, but overall this is a great app. I love the auto pacing during the workout with sets and rests you can easily customize. Seems like it would be easy for them to fill with a bunch of random workouts, but I definitely wanted to customize mine to help deal with some problem areas, so that wasn’t a problem for me.

Weak for a Strength App

1. iPad app does not seem to sync to Health. Support email has gone unanswered for most of a week.

2. I don’t see a wiki, FAQ or other such help available. StarkKettlebell has not been updated in two years.

3. Building workouts is difficult and it seems, not very flexible. For example, one can’t choose different number of sets. For example, If I want to do three sets of swings but three sets of cleans on each side in the same workout, I can not. I have to pick either 3 or 6. And the same goes for rest and duration. Turkish Get-ups take longer to do than a Press, but you can only set one duration for all of the exercises within a workout.

4. You can’t record the actual number of reps done. It always assumes you have done whatever was preset and not the actual.

On the plus side, the videos show better technique than many other apps and the library is good.

Best app on Kettlebell I found so far

Even though there are only 2 workouts, the rest of the contents are very high quality. Like one other reviews said that there could be a few more moves but there are plenty and new moves I haven't used before. I do hope that the developers keep adding more moves then StarkKettlebell will be the best Kettlebell trainer apps on the market. Keep up the awesome work!

Good workout! Please add sound!

I love the program for the workouts. I did Tabata this morning. However, I wish that more workouts had sound or a timer so that I could focus on point in front of me while I am doing swings or snatches as a post to glancing down at my phone to see how much time I have left before my rest period. Could you please add something like that on your next update. It would make this a fantastic five star workout app.

Great app!

Have recommended many times. I have worked w trainers for over 25 years and I love this program. Easy to use and can be extremely challenging. The videos are clear and without the annoying dead plant in the background(-;

Only Hong I would change is the "encouragement" in the middle of the rep cycle. A beep would do just fine...

I don't get it

Yes, the graphics are nice, but I don't understand all of the good reviews. There are only 2 workouts that come loaded. You have to create the rest on your own. If I could create my own workouts, I wouldn't need an app. The descriptions are misleading. Also, there aren't really that many exercises, 51 total. There are dozens more Kettlebell moves that could be added. I contacted the developer twice to see if they would be adding more workouts and they have never responded. Disappointed.

For young women who are intimidated by the gym

As a young woman, sometimes going into the gym can be very intimidating, especially when there are some older and more fit men that generally take over the free-weight section. With this program, and the investment of some kettle bells at home, my confidence in my understanding of how to lift correctly and my confidence in my body are both gradually improving. Would highly recommend StarkKettlebell to anyone and everyone!!

Excellent Program

After checking out two other Kettlebell workout apps I found this one. What I like about the Virtual Trainer app is that it can be tailored to fit your training capacity. I am going to continue to use it (I just did my first workout with it) and will update my review later.

Great app

Give a great human not cartoon example of how to perform the exercise. It allows you to build your own group of movements and put them into what ever set sequence you choose, for a specific time frame you choose, and it also incorporates a rest period of your choosing too.

Could Be A Lot Better

I’m usually impressed by the trainer pro series apps. This one is lackluster. The demonstrators are not dynamic and seem to “ho hum” during the exercises. Perhaps this is aimed toward beginners. Also, StarkKettlebell could really use more exercises and better categorization. One exercise for abs and a triceps extension somehow works your legs while lying down? I don’t get it. This one falls a little short, but I’ll work with what it gives me.

Highly recommend

I started using VT Bodyweight a 18 months ago when a shoulder injury forced me into Crossfit retirement. VT does an excellent job and I love the control it gives me to work around my injury. The kettle bell version is great, and I look forward to increasing my strength with StarkKettlebell

Circus Artist looks for cross-training options and finds great app

Im in the circus and I train like a beast. I was looking for new ways to cross-train. StarkKettlebell is great for teaching you how to use kettlebells in many different ways, for building/planning workouts, and working with H.I.I.T

Thanks developers :)

Missing Weight Tracking

I like that StarkKettlebell has lots of exercises and the ability to target specific muscles is very helpful. The biggest thing that StarkKettlebell is missing is the ability to track the the weight that was used for a specific exercise.

Best Kettle Bell Workout App!!

I'm a 37 year old female with 2 kids, 9-5 and limited time. Love how you can adjust workout based on the time you have and the videos are clear and to the point! You won't regret using StarkKettlebell!

By

Great except one thing

You should be able to edit a custom workout once you create it. As of now, once you drag all your exercises in, it breaks it up by day and you can't see your full list. If that gets changed, this is a 5-star app.

First Timer

This was my first time trying out StarkKettlebell in my quest to try kettlebell workouts for the first time as well. StarkKettlebell was well worth the $$$; TONS more options of moves I already feel will be effective!

Great for on the road!

We travel for months in an RV, so this is a great workout for us. Doesn't take the place of a full functional fitness workout, but keeps us from sliding backwards during our travels.

Great App

I bounce around for work and school so kettle bells are ideal to me due to their flexibility. StarkKettlebell is extremely useful if you are brain dead like me when it comes to inventing a workout. You can get by with a heavy kettle bell and one that's considerably lighter.
