Pretty Good markups for pdf’s

I bought this program to use to make notes as I am reading the Mueller Report on my iPad. The program does exactly what it advertises it will do. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars are for some relatively minor issues. I would have rather given it 4.5 stars but that wasn’t an option. The issue is consistency between various documents that I also need to read. Selecting a pencil line weight is different depending on the document I am reading which is quite frustrating. With some documents it is very straight forward and with others it is simply nearly impossible to navigate to the line weight tool. Perhaps this can be fixed in future editions. Overall I like it a lot.

Usually reliable

Usually great at what it does, but has issues. Will crash, erasing all recent progress. Recent updates have made it have significant lag, increasing the number of crashes and lost notes. Using on iPad Pro, and usually is ok, but not as reliable as a monthly fee payment app should be. Customer service is completely unresponsive, and submitting a help ticket is as good as throwing your complaint into the trash, never to be seen again.

PhD Student

I was looking for an app to do all my project and class readings on, as I was printing too many articles to keep track of. I had to pay for the version of PDFPro that allowed for annotation which was about $10 for a year. With the paid version of PDFPro I have been able to organize and annotate all my articles. I am only not giving PDFPro a 5 for two reasons. One, PDFPro does not tell you if an item with an identical name has already been uploaded and therefore duplicates end up added. And two, the uploading process is tedious as you have to click each article separately and there is not a choose all option. Overall the paid version of PDFPro does most of what I need it to do as a PhD student.

Dropped support for iOS 10.

I just purchased a year subscription to PDFPro a month, ago and the developer just decided to stop supporting PDFPro under iOS 10.
Pretty bummed about that, but got PDFPro before that happen.
Not happy.
It’s a well-done and good PDF app, but dropping support for iOS 10 just seems an arbitrary decision mace by this developer, just because of more of a need to concentrate on iOS 13.
The dev had to concentrate on iOS 11 and 12 while still supporting iOS 10.
So, how is iOS 13 any different from anything the dev had to do with iOS 11 and 12?
I am running an older iPad Pro running under iOS 10 and have avoided upgrading my iPad Pro because both iOS 11 and 12 have too many bugs and issues with older iPads and older iPad Pro models.
I may upgrade when iOS 12.4 get released if enough bugs/issues get fixed/resolved or just wait for “lucky”iOS 13, and see if things get better or worse for older iPad/iPad Pro models.
Annoyed by this developer’s decision to suddenly drop iOS 10 support

Kudos to PDF Pro

PDF Pro has really enhanced my workflow. It’s a great app and I recommend it for anyone. I use it on my iPad to annotate my messages. After preparing them in Word, I convert to pdf, and open in pdf pro. Then I use the commenting tools to attach bible quotes and songs as desired. All my annotations are saved with it but I can edit or remove anytime. Quite fun indeed. Get it today.

copy

there is nothing new in the pdf apps. The big players pdf expert and pdf viewer have not added anything new for years. I was hoping this one was an exception. It is just a copy of the pdf viewer only with an inferior interaction with Files app. I tried it just for the full pdf indexing feature. It only indexes the files in iphone and not in icloud, ie waste of my time and my $1.29 to try PDFPro. I deleted it right away. Developer: when you have something novel, then let us know. In the meantime: Thanks but we are not interested in the millionth copy of pdf viewer interface.

Great features, but apple pen spotty

PDFPro has the best combination of features I have found for notating PDF documents. However when making notes on PDFs there is sometimes a large lag time in between your writing with the apple pen and when the word appears. I notice it more when I’m zoomed in on the document and trying to write in a smaller space. I’m using an iPad Pro 12 inch, so the refresh rate is 120 Hz. Other note apps just don’t lag like this. If this bug can be fixed, it will be truly awesome.

Fair

I have a number of PDF reader programs. I have subscribed to this one for quite some time. My one complaint is that it does remember which page you were on when switching to a different PDF file. When you want to continue reading the first file, the program always takes you to page 1. This is the only one of the 5 programs I have which does this.

The Best PDF app

There are a lot of options for PDF apps and I tried many but didn’t like them for one reason or another. But when the trial for PDF Pro expired, I purchased it without hesitation. It’s been enjoyable to use and has everything I need it to do in a clean and pleasing interface.

It Works!

I work with PDFs professionally so I try every PDF editor and form filler. Most PDF apps that claim to be form fillers do not work. PDF Pro 4 works!

I have only found three PDF apps that work well as form fillers. This is one of them. It is also the best value.

Help needed

I’m a long-time user of PDFPro . My biggest complaint would be is over the years I’ve had numerous iPhones, I still own them and use them as a Wi-Fi device only, anything I saved on a old phone under the same iTunes account do not share across my phones nor do they share to your iPad. So unfortunately I have many things saved over the various devices and cannot get them all in one place.

I love this app

But can I please access the same pdfs across all my devices? That would make this perfect. I just subscribed thinking this was possible and was sad to find out it hasn’t been done yet. I’m keeping the subscription because I just know it’s coming soon!

This app deserves more than 5 Star

I do enjoy using it, I get all my needs to accomplish my products. It will be great if you offer synchronisation with other devices such as IPad.

Please repair. I lost all my notes due to some bugs

I used PDFPro to take notes when doing my class readings. Everything was good until PDFPro froze then unexpectedly quit. After then I found I have lost all the notes I have taken, which is very upsetting. After the same problem happened twice I dare not use PDFPro anymore. Please fix this issue! (sorry for my English I’m not a native speaker)

Charges for “copy” feature

Really??? I pay for PDFPro a few versions ago. Now you want me to pay a monthly fee to use the copy feature???! Yeah, you definitely earned my one star. Wish it was zero but Apple doesn’t let me give a lower ranking. I’ll pass on PDFPro. I’m so glad I wasted money on it. You know there are plenty of other pdf apps that don’t charge for a basic feature like copy. Just wow. Good luck.

Does not remember the last page I left

Its a bummer specially when you're reading books with many pages. You'd have to scroll from the start to the page you last read. Its a good pdf reader though.

False advertising - you can’t write without paying

I just spent a couple of hours charging up my iPad, updating apps, getting files into google drive as PDFs and then over to iPad to grade some essays and you can’t write on these PDFs at all without paying 1.99 a month. The pictures make it seem like you can do basic highlighting and writing, but if you tap on the pen, it says you have to upgrade premium - such a waste of time!

Very useful

Works very well on my iPad, it retrieves PDFs files seamlessly from file folders in the local drives or cloud. All PDFs are presented up front for browsing. Text size could be zoomed at will for easy reading at the touch of the finger.

PDF Pro

I have used PDFPro for a couple of year and find it very useful. I can’t work without it. Very easy to organize my files.

Buyer beware!

I paid for the full PDF Pro, earlier version, a couple of years ago. With the latest IOS update and PDF Pro 4, now I can’t open my original PDF Pro and I’ve lost access to a lot of valuable files. PDF Pro 4 only asks if I want to start a paid yearly subscription with still no access to my previous files. Really? Shame on you for your greed PDF Pro 4!!

The Best Ever

I love love love PDFPro. The paid version is worth every penny! I use it to view pdf’s of photos for art reference; digitized books I’ve downloaded; and notes I want in one place. I use PDF PHOTO to create a pdf file from my photos, which I then house for viewing in this. I also create pdf’s from images I’ve collected from genealogy research. For example, census images I want in one place to be viewed as a page-turning “book”; as well as a shareable file-form. I use Evernote as a storage system, but it is limited for viewing as it won’t remember my place if I have to switch apps. Not a problem here.

Thanks so much for this. I hope it will always be available.

Great app in general

Only complaint so far is it returns to cover page on restart (even when app was never technically closed) instead of page you were last reading. Good thing there’s bookmarks.

Top Quality

One of the few Apps I use daily that turns my phone back into a tool, instead of a toy!

I love it but...

It’s truly a game changing app in my opinion. I just wish you could save your recent colors from the color wheel to transfer through text, highlighting etc :( I also wish PDFPro recognized “*” but other than that it’s a great app for a low yearly price and I love it. Definitely recommend it.
