MyMazda is not representative of the Mazda automobile. Unlike the car, it's pretty bad! MyMazda sometimes loses the owner information and you have to reenter it. To use the maintenance schedule you have to open the "Owners" section FIRST. And most of the time the maintenance schedule crashes. There have been at least 3 updates since I installed MyMazda and none of them has fixed this problem. MyMazda updates simply state that there have been "minor bug fixes". I wonder what in the world are they fixing because the same problems continue. If you read the previous reviews, you will see some of the same comments. At some point, I'll probably just uninstall MyMazda. For now, I'll keep it in hopes that the developers will fix the problems...but I doubt it.

For three years I have tried to use MyMazda. I try it, wait a few months expecting it will be fixed, and get disappointed again. I changed my email address but have never been able to make the change in MyMazda. Good passwords should ideally be long, complex, and should be stored in an encrypted database where they are unknown to the account owner. That makes it necessary to be able to paste in the password. MyMazda does not allow that. MyMazda keeps requiring the VIN number. It could be encrypted and stored on my phone. No it can’t do that.
I love my CX-5. I love the dealership which services my car. MyMazda should be able to make appointments and allow annotation of essential information.
The only use MyMazda seems to be able to accomplish is to be an ad for cars.
As apps go, this one remains totally pathetic.

When we walked into the Mazda dealership they asked what features I wanted in a car and I replied that the only thing I must have in a car is autostart. With an infant and toddler who cannot wear winter jackets in the car autostart is non negotiable and I wont even look at a car that I can’t have that in. Knowing how important that feature was, we let the salesman talk us into MyMazda (which is way more money) that he raved about, instead of the remote. Well, MyMazda is horrible and never works, so there goes THE ONLY FEATURE I NEEDED IN A CAR. Too bad too, because I love my CX-9, but based on that experience alone and now not being able to ever use my auto start we definitely wont be getting another Mazda. It’s going to be a long 3 years because I’m already counting down these cold winter days until it goes back.

I don’t normally write app reviews but MyMazda is ridiculously un-useful because it never works right. I’ve been trying to use it for 3 years, since I bought my car, and I always forget how crappy it is when I try to use it again. It would be wonderful if I could schedule my services through MyMazda , and keep track of them and recalls, and it give me notifications to schedule next services. I just tried to search recalls and it froze up, even after restarting MyMazda . I was excited to see that FaceID is supported with the new update, because I had to enter my info every time, but now I can’t even log in. It just gives me a spinning wheel of doom, after it reads my face. I don’t have that issue with any other app, and they all use FaceID. I’m glad I don’t need the use of MyMazda to remote start my car, like some other reviewers, here. I gave it 2 stars because it now saves my car info, so that’s an improvement on previous versions.

The whole system needs way more development. I bought new ‘21 CX5 Signature believing based on my salesman’s word that this more expensive model offered the very best technology, but I’ve been very disappointed to discover this model has older tech than the cheaper CX30. Service bulletin shows my CX5 has v6.5 while the CX30 has v7.0 onboard software. Therefore, MyMazda only offers half of the functionality. I can remote start, unlock/lock, & turn on/off hazards, but I don’t have tire pressure monitoring or WiFi management. MyMazda would be a bit better if it SECURELY allowed at least the same functionality as the onboard infotainment system, such as changing vehicle settings. I sure hope Mazda catches up with other manufacturers on this. If these failures are due to the microchip shortage, I sure hope those of us who paid premium prices expecting the very best are first in line for warrantied upgrades.

This is a good app for staying informed about your car’s status and allows remote accessibility (remote start, door lock/unlock, hazard lights, etc). However, MAJOR issues need to be fixed. I mainly use this for the remote start as it’s very useful in the winter, but recently this action has failed multiple times, even after waiting the “60 seconds” that Mazda recommends to do between commands. The notifications have even begun to randomly show that “start engine” has failed when I did not initiate it! Trying to identify the issues is impossible, because the “activity history” section in MyMazda is so unclear and vague. MyMazda takes so long to initiate the commands that it ends up being more time consuming than convenient. This needs A LOT of improvement if Mazda is thinking about trying to sell their subscription.

MyMazda itself works fine, I haven’t experienced any crashes or bugs, but many of the “features” do not work. For example, if I have a status alert that I left my keys in the car, I have to go my inbox, find the notification and review it before I can delete the notification on my Home Screen - even though there is an “x” in the top corner of the alert to let me delete from there, which is stupid. Also, I went to the “Support” and chose “onboarding experience” it shows the interior, exterior, and technology as list items to click on, but only technology has anything in it. So I don’t get to know about what features my interior and exterior offer? Dumb.
Basically I can find out my milage, how much fuel I have in the tank, and remote start. Gotcha. ☹️

Great idea, mediocre execution. MyMazda seemed buggy as I had difficulty creating an account. When I finally got the account created, there are great videos for different car features, but no audio to go with the videos! Also, no captioning for the videos. So, no matter how great the videos are, without captioning or sound, they are pretty much useless. I may try deleting and reinstalling MyMazda , but then I will have probably have to sign back in again. I am using MyMazda on an iPhone 6s. Update: about two days after writing my initial review, Mazda released an update. There is now sound with the videos! Changed my rating from one star to three stars after the update. May go higher after I use it for a bit.

App works well to do what I want: remotely lock/unlock doors, or remote start. For some dumb reason, the remotely started engine will stop as soon as you open the car’s door. My main gripe with MyMazda the interface. I’m sure in the designer’s darkened studio, on his gorgeous 4K iMac or MacBook Pro screen, this interface GUI was “gorgeous” and “sex.” In real-world use, it’s terribly hard to use. Everything on the interface is black. Ok, not such a huge problem. However, the text and icons for the buttons is like 85% gray or darker! I tried to open MyMazda outside while on lunch one day to show a friend and we could not seeing anything on screen. I have an iPhone Pro 11 and had the screen brightness up to max. If you’re going to do a black interface, make the text 30% or brighter (heck, even white). Did you even UX test this? Fix please then I’ll add 2 stars.

I loved the idea of controlling my car with an app on my phone and was quite excited to start using it. It works great, for what it does. It somewhat limited in its functionality and ability to control accessories in the car to start with the remote start (ie. heated seats, rear window defroster, A/C etc.) as I said, the current app’s functionality is quite good, albeit somewhat limited.

Secondly, I receive at least one, but usually more, notification/s per day alerting me that a door is unlocked or a light is on in the car. No matter what functionality you add to in the future, an immediate bug fix is necessary for this issue. But honestly, my Mazda is one of my favorite cars I’ve ever owned, and it’s my first ever!!!

It’s a decent app. My main issue is how often my requests fail (probably close to 50-60% of the time). I am never trying from very far, just inside the house with the car in the driveway, and I have to plan to try at least twice for any remote requests. I also am just not sold on it being more practical than a button on my fob… maybe if it were more reliable.
I do appreciate other aspects of MyMazda such as the vehicle stats (tire pressure, gas percentage, notification of my doors being unlocked, etc). These are nice alerts to be able to access.
Some integration with services would be helpful: when a service is due being able to schedule from MyMazda for example.

I was really excited to finally have a car with auto start. Then I used the my Mazda auto start and realized that the car turns off before I can get into it. this seems silly. The manual states that “for safety and security reasons“ the car turns off if it’s unlocked or a door is opened. But if the car is in park and the key fob is nearby then it should be perfectly safe and secure. Please fix this and find some other way to make sure that it’s me driving my car away. It’s dumb to spend the energy and gas needed to start the car only to have it turn off and and make me use more gas and energy to restart it again. This is an auto start fail.

Pretty simple and easy to use. Similar to my experience when I owned a Genesis. Pretty responsive. Notifications are thorough if you allow everything to be an alert. Haven’t used the maintenance section or scheduling yet since the car is a new buy and only carrying 500 miles.

But…why is it that when you start the car remotely and then open the door the car turns off? Doesn’t make sense as a security measure since I have to be carrying my keys to open the car. Minor annoyance but it makes no sense to have to start the car…after already starting the car. Never encountered this with any other car makes.

MyMazda overall works well. Not once have I been logged out of MyMazda . Even if I were logged out I use face I.D. to log in so it takes 2 seconds. I haven’t had an issue with the car not starting so far. And I see some people complaining that as soon as you open your car door that the engine cuts off. That is a safety feature that Mazda has built into the car, that has nothing to do with MyMazda . I personally don’t like it either that the engine shuts off when the door is opened, but none the less it’s not the apps fault. The fuel reading seems to be pretty spot on and I have yet to check to see if the tire pressure reading is correct or not. So over all not bad. I am currently in the free 3 year subscription and if MyMazda stays the same or gets better from this point, I would definitely consider extending my subscription.

I drove a Toyota Camry for 15 years then traded it for a 2016 Mazda CX-5.I fell in love with that little SUV. Recently I traded my 2016 SUV for a 2021 Mazda CX-5. It has all the bells and whistle‘s you could want in safety features and in comfort. I love the heated seats, the smooth handling on the highway, and of course the Bose sound system. With the Mazda app on my phone I can lock and start my car. It tells me if I leave it unlocked. What more could you want? Oh did I mention how much I love the automatic tailgate? It is so convenient when you’re loading groceries or whatever in the back. For a small SUV it is roomy inside and comfortable. I would recommend the Mazda CX-5 to anyone looking for a medium sized SUV. You will fall in love.

Our test drive had me a little concerned that the seats and ride were a bit rough, but after driving for 4 months, everyone wants to drive this car. A real joy in every way. Not the largest cargo or fastest pick up, but everything is just right. Handing is great and comfort is super ( I am a little over 6’ and my daughter is 5’2”), and we are both equally comfortable. No complaints. None! Best car for the money, hands down! Will be a Mazda owner again!

I think u people on here need to upgrade your iPhones as well as IOS. MyMazda works wonderfully for me. Just the way it suppose to. I love MyMazda, and u all will as well, once u upgrade your iPhones as well as iOS. I don’t have any problems using MyMazda at all. I have an iPhone 8 Plus along with the latest addition of iOS. Works exactly the way it is meant to work. Free for me for 3 years. Not Mazda’s fault that u all don’t have the latest in smart phone software. I love Mazda, and just bought my 3rd Mazda 3. A 2020 red Mazda 3 with all of the bells and whistles. I have no complaints.

Love MyMazda , especially to remote start and lock/unlock the car, and check gas level.

One thing I would add is a notification setting that alerts when gas level is low. It’s annoying that MyMazda doesn’t always update and shows the wrong gas level unless I swipe down to refresh.

Also it’s annoying that when I open the car after remote start, the engine stops and I get “Remote start failed” in notifications. It didn’t fail, I got in the car. No need to alert me of this.

Love MyMazda for my brand new Mazda CX-30! Really useful and convenient on keeping up to date with services and recalls. The status alerts and notifications always keep me aware of important information about my Mazda such as when it’s left unlocked or a door is left open. Can even start/stop and unlock/lock my Mazda all from MyMazda . The service record is easy to use and useful for keeping track of the history of everything that has been done to my Mazda. App
has lots of great features. I highly recommend MyMazda. Thank you Mazda!

I purchased my cx-30 in Nov 2021 and no lie two weeks later I got hit in a hit and run horrible luck I know. Anyways MyMazda would send me updates when doors were open/locked, hood issues basically let me track the work being done on my car. Which I know it’s not for that but kinda cool you know. As far as ppl complaining it shuts off when you open your door that has nothing to do with MyMazda lol it’s a “safety feature” and it really doesn’t bother me. I wish there was a quicker way to open MyMazda like a widget or something if there is I need to know.

Zero use. They make you download at the dealership. The whole point is to schedule appointments which makes sense...but guess what? BEYOND difficult to use and doesn’t give you any appointment reminders or show you your scheduled appointments. That is on a separate website it links you to that is equally as terrible and still won’t show you your scheduled appointment and takes 700 years to use. Horrible execution. I never leave reviews but it’s just that bad. Would save more time to just call and schedule. But they’ll never answer the phone anyways :)

This would be a useful app if it actually allowed you to register easily and login. After at least 5 tries, I finally got registered with password and face recognition set up. After a few days, I tried to access MyMazda and it wouldn’t accept my face recognition, nor the password. I changed the password successfully, or so I was told by MyMazda , but every time I attempt to log in I get the same “Error, Connection not found.” I suppose you can use MyMazda as a guest but what’s the point of having it personalized, if you can never access anything?

IMO, the main benefit of MyMazda is to gain electronic access to the thick manual. No one wants to store a book in the glove compartment. Well, that does not work and I have reported this to Mazda twice - exchanging messages with them and providing detailed information on the issue - but within no progress or resolution. Taping the Manual button will prompt you to download the manual - you click OK and see a message at the bottom of the screen indicating “downloading...” — and that’s is. No manual ever actually downloads and the process just repeats itself when you click the manual button again.

I just downloaded it yesterday. It’s not very interactive at all, it really doesn’t even connect to your car info, it’s more of a how-to for your vehicle. I tried to go in MyMazda and update my maintenance schedule information and it has crashed every single time I open it. I can’t even get to anything on it before it crashes, it literally crashes 10 seconds after I open MyMazda . Really disappointed, my husband has an app for his Subaru that actually connects to his car and tells the info about it like current tire pressure, fluid levels, and exact maintenance schedule. This Mazda app is just terrible.

So, instead of actually FIXING their apps or software, or giving us CarPlay, I see that Mazda prefers to plant phony reviews to boost its app ratings. Do not be fooled! Believe the crappy reviews... on ALL of Mazda's apps!!

I would actually be sitting in my car and MyMazda could never - not even once - locate my car! The remote start has NEVER worked, not even ONCE!! The dealership pointed fingers at Mazda. Mazda pointed fingers at the dealership. The only thing that either of them helped me with was to separate me from several thousand dollars 💵 to install expensive equipment that NEVER WORKED!! And NO ONE cares! Never again will I buy a Mazda. Anybody want to buy a LOADED 2016 Mazda CX-5??

Recently purchased one of the first 2019 Signature CX-5’s in the States. Really enjoying the car, but the absolutely terrible app experience makes me question if the tech on the car is going to fail. I have attempted to register now OVER 20x on both my iPhone and iPad...MyMazda either claims I am registered then tells me there is no registration connected to my credentials or, takes me through the whole process and then says “There is a problem, while communicating with web services. Please try again.” This has been going on for 2 days...I pretty much have my VIN # memorized now. Mazda...this is not a good brand experience or endorsement for the quality of your products. Really unhappy here.

I downloaded MyMazda at the dealer as we were buying our 2019 Mazda 3, entered the VIN since the number was right in front of me and looked around in MyMazda . I thought this will be great info to have at my fingertips. A couple of days later I opened MyMazda and it had forgotten my VIN and would not let me enter it manually. So I scanned the VIN as directed and it worked again. Couple of days later I opened MyMazda again and it said I needed to enter my vehicle’s VIN again. Not gonna go through this every time so I deleted MyMazda from my phone. Life’s too short...

Even after reading the negative reviews I withheld judgement and downloaded MyMazda anyway. I figured a company so good at creating a memorable driving experience couldn’t be that bad at creating a simple app... wow, I was wrong.

Mazda has an operating income of 22+ billion. It costs about 100k to develop a solid app nowadays, what is going on. I hate to be so broad when providing feedback but everything about MyMazda is horrible. It’s slow, freezes, crashes. MyMazda asks you to repeatedly enter the same info over and over then forgets 2 minutes later.

MyMazda really doesn’t do anything special and what it does do it can’t really do, confused? Me too. Avoid MyMazda until Mazda actually invests in making something worthwhile.

Every time I try to use MyMazda it crashes or freezes. I input all of my car info, only to have it disappear the next day. I love the idea that they have video information about all the features, but again MyMazda would freeze after I had watched two or three videos. It also seems ridiculous that MyMazda knows my Mazda3 info, but in every area asks the year and model of my car before I move on. MyMazda should simply default to my vehicle once it is set, none of the other options should even appear. After one week, I hesitate to even try using MyMazda … And I certainly won’t depend on it for requesting emergency service or any of the other services it claims to provide. My hope is that Mazda will fix app this quickly!

MyMazda seems very informational, however the preemptive word is “seems” because with no audio, MyMazda is useless. It doesn’t crash or anything like that when I use it. I just can’t hear anything and it’s so frustrating as I’d like to visually learn how to use my vehicle with step by step, guided instructions rather than read a huge, complicated manual. Please fix!!

I used MyMazda to request Roadside Assistance and it went smoothly no need to contact a rep. Was a little tricky on finding out where was the Continue button after each step. MyMazda has major potential and I would like to thank Mazda for the new updates please keep on improving and making MyMazda better. Thank You and have FUN and SAFE driving!

I don’t understand why other people felt they needed to rate MyMazda so low. It works great for me. I was easily able to sign in and create an account. I really liked the vin scan feature, which allowed me to take a snap shot of my vin instead of manually entering it in. The videos all have sound in my end. So either Mazda fixes it or other reviews are unaware of how to properly operate their phone. All in all MyMazda works well and does what it was designed to do.
