Rides In TelAviv

We were recently in TelAviv Israel. We rode several this app rides. It is interesting to note that about 40% of our drivers were somewhat dishonest about prices unless we applied serious questioning about the charges before they drove off towards our destination. The prices per pre determined priced destination were often different on The very same day and time UNLESS we corrected the driver as he tried to overcharge. Especially to the Airport and from the airport. It’s maddening. We THOUGHT that maybe this app had solved this age old problem of Driver overcharging. No no. Not just yet.

Furthermore most drivers did not take into consideration which side of the street we were waiting on and upon arrival they wanted US to cross the very busy streets and pick our way through traffic fences put in place to prevent pedestrians from crossing. We are 75 and 77 year old seniors. AND our GPS’s used outside of this app rides CLEARLY indicate what side of any street the GPS user is standing. It is possible that the this app GPS provider does not get that refined?

Can you please fix this small but dangerous error?
Most Uber drivers arrive on the side of the street that you are waiting to be picked up. It’s not that difficult to correct I suspect.

All else was nice and the drivers were very good. Some rides were executed with correct pricing plus common courtesy.. Thank you.

Gett in Israel

Taxi driver experiences while traveling abroad always stresses me out. More often than not you get ripped off and it can be quite unpleasant. I saw this app recommended in a guide book and it worked perfectly. The only 2 negative taxi experiences we had was when we didn’t use this app. Drivers were friendly and you never had to worry about the language barrier since you input your destination. We had a couple of issues trying to find them for pick up, but that was a very small price to pay for the reassurance of courteous, safe drivers who always used the meter. I highly recommend it!!!

I have to say every successful organization has its bad apples. I order a get car from the west end to Heathrow airport and within 2 minutes of my placing the order the car arrived as I met him at the curb the trip was very fast and from start to finish less than 20 minutes for the entire trip. So much for the good part. When I got my billing I was shocked to see the driver in addition to the fare of 55Gps
Put on high traffic item and the a waiting charge for 14 minutes when in fact he did not wait for me. I waited for him and last when he was so unhelpful when We arrived at the airports he added a tip for himself without permission
This driver obviously gives the entire group a bad rap. I complained to the care department sritting to Gigi and Paula but got nothing but silence
Be careful when you use these people charging the trip to your credit card. Lots of rooms for abuse

We arrived in Moscow completely clueless, and to be honest, a little stressed-out. I called my hotel and they recommended this app... and I’m glad they did.

They have several stations set up with the Arrival terminals. The young man there was EXTREMELY helpful. He guided me through downloading the ‘this app Ap’ on my I-phone. From there, he gave an excellent tutorial on how to use their Ap. He assisted me with scheduling my first ride and provided directions to the pickup location.

I met the driver at the this app station. Even though he spoke no English (and I no Russian), he was very friendly and professional. We had a great first experience with this app. Hope you do too! ... Gig ‘Em!

Honest taxi driver

I haven’t needed to use this app that often, but am extremely happy that I did tonight. I made my reservation on Gett , but completely forgot that Gett was set up to pay for the ride in advance. So I paid cash for the metered amount at my destination. The driver took it, but seconds later pulled up next to me, confirmed my name and that it was I that had used Gett , explained that the trip was pre-paid and returned my £20 with a smile. It’s nice to know there are honest people around these days. A big “Thank You” to that driver!

Awesome!

One of the things that makes or breaks an app is being able to get a response when there's a problem (customer service). No company is without problems so it's not the problems that kill an enterprise but how they treat the consumer. In every situation gettaxi took care of my concern and responded with courtesy, respect and in a reasonable response time. I can only speak of Jerusalem but if it can with here then it can certainly work anywhere. Even the drivers expound their pleasure with working with the company. This says it all.

Dependable personal service

We are from USA (Dallas, Texas) and the this app experience is new for us. We love using the this app app because it is easy to use and extremely efficient. We like the fact that the driver & his license plate number are identified, making it easier for pick up.
Our experience has been very positive as drivers are courteous,efficient & personable even with the difference in languages.
We would highly recommend them.

I can’t even set it up!

I have been trying for six days now to put in my mobile phone number so that I can create an account. I do have an iPhone and the latest iOS. I’m leaving the country in less than two weeks. It keeps giving me an unexpected server error. I have emailed and called the few customer service contacts I can find, but nobody can tell me if Gett is down or help me with this issue. So I don’t even have an account yet and therefore cannot do certain things that it advises you to do when you’re having trouble with your account. Where are you supposed to turn for help with things like this? It’s not made clear anywhere on the website or in Gett Store.

Awful customer service

Been using them for years and finally had one issue that needed resolving or any kind of help and they blamed me for it. Gett said that I was in a car that I had ordered when actually the driver was still on his way to me. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t paying for the time I wasn’t in the car and was still waiting. Customer service found a way to blame it on me for not getting a physical receipt and said their system is not connected to the drivers meter, which seems a HUGE oversight in my opinion. They were rude and could not care less about helping me. I felt like I was on trial with them for just asking a question

Doesn’t work, rude and useless support

Only tried Gett because google maps had a coupon and I regret I did. After waiting over 10 minutes, when Gett said the driver was 9 mins away, it still showed the driver far away and then said the driver had cancelled and to wait another 14 minutes for another driver. So we cancel and order an Uber, the Uber immediately shows up and as we’re walking to it, the this app taxi is there and yelling to come to him. I explain that the ride was cancelled and he just goes on and on about cancellation fees. When I contact support they said I should expect to wait 10-20 minutes for a ride, even when it says 9. App deleted.

Terrible UI. Terrible software. Terrible customer service.

If you’ve ever used Uber or Lyft and you are then forced by accidents of geography to use this app, you will very simply wish for the sweet release of death.
The drivers aren’t bad but that’s where the good news ends.
1) the map. You’ll often see a vehicle beside you on the map but in reality an empty road
2) calling your driver. The software that connects you to your driver works rarely if ever. If your driver doesn’t hear from you, he can cancel your trip at your expense. When this happens, arguing with customer service is futile.
3) the UI. I have written addresses specifying one city only to have the driver start taking me to another one. Since I assume Gett is doing its job, I’ll be answering emails and only realize something is wrong once we get on the highway.
4) customer service. They don’t care and they won’t help you. This is the DMV of customer service departments.
Gett is a nightmare. Avoid like the plague.

Ride

I had a driver last night who told me that the rides at night who charged more and then went on to charge me 100 nis ($33) for a twenty minute ride. I tried telling him to use the meter but he said no and cancelled the ride so he couldn’t use it. He kept stopping in the middle of the road. I contacted customer service to complain and they said this ride never happened. He told them he didn’t drive me when he most definitely did. The driver and customer service is horrible. Total waste of time trying to get help. Don’t drive with this app. It’s a scam. Find a taxi on the side of the road. You are better off that way.

Great way to ensure having a reliable and knowledgeable driver

After trying Uber and Bolt, with their novice drivers who don’t really know their way around town, I am glad to have an easy way to hail a black cab. The drivers know their way around town and even when a road is blocked, are quick to find an alternative route.

Horrible app for horrible drivers

Requested a ride on Gett and my driver showed up with a passenger in the back seat - mind you this is not a shared ride - then once he drops her off he proceeds to drop me off and makes sure that I give him 5 stars - once that is done he proceeds to change the price charged from the metered rate of 30 NIS to 80 NIS - when you contact customer service they can’t do anything but give you credit for an app you will never use again because you were just a tourist in Tel Aviv- cabs and drivers are horrible in TLv and Gett just gives them another tool to rip off unsuspecting customers - especially tourists!

One trip, worked great.

Cabs in Israel are stressful. One cabbie gave us counterfeit money as change. Another time we got kicked out of the cab because we didn’t agree to the “negotiated” price. this app worked as promised. Taxi arrived, we could see photo of driver and license plate. We could see the route and pay with cc, with the top added in.

I think we have hailed our last cab in Jerusalem.

Easy to Gett

This was our second time trying to use this app. The first time our ride was canceled after waiting for 20 minutes. The driver did not drive to the hotel entrance and tried to call me twice but when I answered the phone it disconnected. The next time I used get it was perfect! Ride came quickly and driver was very nice and a good driver. The only problem was that I was quoted 145 sheckels and it ended up costing 167 due to added fees for suitcases and order fee.

Excellent app

I use this app at least 3 times per week, often more. With a few exceptions the arrive within 5 minutes and almost unify have very clean and well maintained cars and friendly drivers. I like the option to rate the service every time, but I see that almost everyone gives a 5 star rating as the average for any driver is always 4.95 or higher. Rarely have i ever given less than 5 stars myself.

Two reservations.
— It is difficult to challenge unwarranted charges for canceled rides.

— Every driver relies on WAZE, but despite its vaunted reputation it gives inferior routes to destinations I visit frequently ~50% of the time.

Best app of its kind, too bad they’re not in NY...

I’m using Juno now since this app acquired the company last year, best experience with them - most professional drivers over uber Lyft etc and they’re customer support is unparalleled in quality - I got in touch with a real person within 15 seconds in the middle of the night when I had an issue with a driver... amazing!

If I could give it no stars I would

Gett has been deciding not to work on my phone for months! Anytime I need to use it I need to delete Gett completely and redownload it for it to only sometimes work. Thankfully a cab driver gave me their customer service number, not that it helped because no one answered and instead it sent me to have a chat with a rep on Gett that WASNT WORKING!!! Unfortunately there is
no alternative where I am based so my only hope is that this review will capture the attention of someone at this app to fix this issue.

Changes to app have made it useless to end users

Used to be a good service which allowed you to easily orders cabs and not be at the mercy of taxi drivers and their shenanigans.

Recent changes to Gett have made riders helpless. I was recently waiting for my ride in a thunderstorm where the cab was at the other end of the street, but they didn't feel like doing a uturn, so they just canceled the ride (also not answering the phone to ask where they were going) and I had to order another cab and wait 10 more minutes.

Don't bother until they fix this, and give riders respect.

Taxis won’t pickup

Traveling in London Gett was recommended by family. The first ride was great. The second ride the driver could not be bothered to pick us up curb side. He was on the phone the entire time discussing business which has nothing to do with a taxi. We put in the destination of British Museum and he took us to the British Library. The third time we tried to use Gett no taxis would pick us up. Could count a dozen on the screen. One would flag to pick us up and then drive the other direction and then park until it times out. This happened three times. Opened up customer care in Gett and they could not get a taxi to pick us up. Waited 30 minutes before giving up. Find another app with drivers that actually want to work.
