Did anyone even test this prior to release? Upon signing up, I was asked for my birthdate. A date picker opened up, but there was no indication of which month or year it had defaulted to. So I picked a date at random to learn that it had apparently defaulted to 2003. So, to get to my actual birth year, I’d have to just keep track in my head of how many times I’d have to click to get back to when I was actually born. I’m pretty old, so that would take too long. TruckSmart now thinks I’m 18. Whatever. Why do you need it anyway? Once the wonky date is in there, there is no way to edit it because you aren’t allowed to use the keyboard, just the useless date picker. Moving on, I wanted to reserve a shower at a location a little under 100 miles away. TruckSmart defaults to locate within 50 miles. The interface looks like I can change the distance to 100 miles, but nothing happens when I click on it. So I tried disabling location services to trick TruckSmart into letting me tell it myself which location to search for, but the shower reservation module won’t work at all if you don’t allow it location access. I’m all out of workarounds and so far I’m not impressed.

EDIT: It looks like you can’t actually make a reservation for a shower; TruckSmart just allows you to get in the shower queue. In this case, the 50 mile restriction makes sense, but TruckSmart shouldn’t refer to this as a “reservation” since you can’t select a specific time slot ahead of time.

Been using TruckSmart for 1.5 years since it launched with pumpsmart. Throughout the covid frenzy, made such a easy to pump function possible. However, beginning in January of 2022, I noticed bugs and glitches that were occurring more and more often. Specifically pumpsmart functions. When peak fuel time occurs (times when truckers are fueling at the same time in lines across the nation) TruckSmart simply gives up and goes brain dead. It spins and spins, and spits out a no card on file message (which simply means it timed out due to too many truckers using the same function which slows down the sever). App developers, please update your sourcecode & servers to handle the HIGH DEMAND of truckers fueling at the same time. It may cost to upgrade servers but how much more lost business does it cost due to slow or broken tools?! This peak time is 3pm-6pm CST for fueling. Only way around this glitch is to fuel before or after these times. Company drivers are filling and clocking off so the pattern makes sense. But being unable to fuel when all my cards are digital can be a dangerous situation for a fuel card. FIX IT! Invest in your tools and your clients will be grateful.

I like TruckSmart but the ‘request in-bay service’ feature is completely useless. No matter how many times I use it they never pull an work order for my, I have to physically walk in into the shop anyways. I asked several shops about it and they have different excuses, ranging from, oh they don’t regard this, they didn’t get the info or the info they get from this reservation system is insufficient (no dot #), so it’s like making an reservation that gets omitted anyways. It’s frustrating and you should just remove this feature since your locations don’t know how or have no will to use it.

TruckSmart makes serving parking spaces and showers very easy and you don’t have to speak with a cashier. Love being able to see point balances and everything.

After the most recent update TruckSmart is having trouble retrieving my stored fleet card data and that is preventing PumpSmart from working. It keeps telling me I don't have a fleet card added, but when I submit all the information it won't accept it because it says I'm trying to add a duplicate card to one already in my wallet. Typical buggy corporate app. Has some useful functionality when it actually works though.

App is causing my iPhone 11 to dim the screen…. Again!
It started last year so I deleted TruckSmart for months.
Reinstalled it and it’s been fine until last week.
I cannot have TruckSmart running for more than 2 minutes before it dims the screen, yet when I check my settings the screen brightness is all the way up.
I have to close TruckSmart and it still takes several minutes before my screen brightens again.

TruckSmart give pain for truckers, everything is buggy, who ever designed TruckSmart probably never uses it himself, always bugs and crashes, to sign up, use of app and website are different, app won’t let adding me my fleet card, just doesn’t do nothing after you type the card number, just keep pressing next, to see that nothing going on. TruckSmart doesn’t reserve even 1 star, if there would be negative -5 I would glad to give that.

TruckSmart is very user-friendly designed, when it works it’s great, probably 20% of the time you can’t get the fuel pump to authorize, I’ve had it authorize a shower at the wrong location three times, and had it not at my points and credits multiple times,
I use the reserve parking quite often and it usually works fine

TruckSmart alone makes me not want to stop at a TA. It's painfully slow, can barely identify where you are and the map feature is worthless. Why would you have the map open showing every TA in the country? Why would you not have it limited to the ones around where are you are at? Every other fuel station app has a better map. Take a look at pilot and make yours better. This is a horrible app.

TruckSmart is terrible. It’s extremely slow when trying to do anything. Hasn’t been updated at all in my opinion. Half the time when I try and fuel TruckSmart freezes and I have to use card instead. On that note I can’t even add another fleet card. Just freezes and nothing. The developers need to fix this. Would not recommend. Go to Loves or PFJ. At least their apps are able to be used.

Seems like half the time at the pump the page won’t load and times out. Frustrating.

TruckSmart keep the last TA or Petric I have visit. And once I try to reserve a shower it reserve a shower in the wrong place.
TruckSmart give me shower number that in use by someone else, the staff at the store had to open for me a different shower.
TruckSmart has a long delay from one step to the next when I use the fuel part.

It makes it much easier to utilize TruckSmart over anything to book your shower as well get your discounts on merchandise. Sometimes I am in my truck and book my shower.

TruckSmart is great makes things easier sometimes it glitches but other than that it’s on point wish the would leave fuel receipts on TruckSmart like loves

So when TruckSmart came out, it was pretty convenient. We could start the fuel pumps, see our points, get showers, use our points for items in the store, etc. For two days now and in multiple locations, we can’t add our new fuel card either way. This is what we use this for the majority of the time… and there is no update. What gives?

The only real problem I’ve had with TruckSmart is when you go to start to fuel pump on TruckSmart 50% of the time it doesn’t work the past month about 75% of the time

App is ok but can be kinda slow, it would be nice if it was more like the Pilot/Flying J app to where you can put all truck information instead at the pump. Unlocking the shower door with with TruckSmart is very cool.

Having the ability to unlock your shower door from your phone is ingenious. Yet another way to add on to the oxymoron of our current circumstances; “contactless interaction”.

I been at this place two times, always parking available and showers are very clean, and friendly stuff, I give five stars

Awesome app you can can do a lot of things with TruckSmart quick & fast & you don’t have to stand in the line for get the work done .!!

Was able to download but TruckSmart won’t open fully. It keeps foreclosing.

TruckSmart would be more useful if we could pay for fuel like loves and pilot !

TruckSmart uses the interface and a lower resolution from iOS 6, indicating it hasn't had a major update in at least six years. Download the Loves app, which uses a modern design and has a 3.9/5 Stars on iTunes , and you will see the difference. A classic look is fine, but there are some bugs too. When I downloaded it, on the first day, it let me login, but all my balance information just said (null), but it is working for me now. I also appreciate that it gives a transaction history of when you got or may be expiring credits. Also, it is impressive TruckSmart features full page print-style current store ads, but I experienced a glitch where it is stuck zoomed in, and won't let me zoom out or move the image except temporarily, and then it snaps back to zoomed into the center. TA-Petro, you have state of the art facilities, and market to and sell gadgets to a group of mobile tech savvy travelers. Your app should provide a welcoming and fitting experience for these customers.

I called Apple and they told me to contact TruckSmart developer. TruckSmart will not locate me. It gives me a list of TA's that I was near that location many days ago. I went into privacy and selected TA app. I gave the TA app permission to always use my current location. It still would not find the area where I was at.
Seconds later, I would check back at settings, and even though I had just selected "Always allow to use location services" for the TA app, it was unelected and I had to do the process all over again. No matter how many times I did it, it did not work. The settings would not stay and the TA app would not locate me. I uninstalled TruckSmart , and reinstalled TruckSmart . The same thing happened. Apple told me to contact TA and let them know that their app needs updated to work with the new version of Apple software so that is why I'm writing today. The TA app needs updated according to Apple, this is what Apple has told me.

Showers...cap ‘em at 10, and they expire 1 year later.
I fuel twice a day...for weight, and I go to the OTHER place half the time since they have the same lame 1/24hr policy. That could have been you, plus all the money I spend while I’m in the store.

Start being real with us. Hire a CDL driver to consult. “Gear Levels”....man, I need a shower and I’ve spent thousands upon thousands with you and I have to check what game you’re playing this month....thanks for *your* loyalty.

Now...for TruckSmart ...
Please enhance it so we can select part or all of our fuel receipts and email them as a pdf.
Taxes are real you see.... unlike this unprofessional bait n switch “as seen on TV” marketing junk you give us.

I’ve been on an extended vacation and returned to find my app had updated and I was forced to enter all my information again. Once completed TruckSmart kept closing itself every time I tried to book a shower. Only by deleting TruckSmart and starting completely over was I able to check wait time and book a shower.
When looking for reserved parking I could barely read the text for available spaces because it’s in light blue on a dark blue background. What kind of 12 year old programmer doesn't know to use contrasting colors?
I’m sure I’ll find more issues in the coming days because as the reviewer above stated the other truck stop chains are technologically light years ahead of TA/Petro on every level.

You used to have a map feature that was among the best of any app that I’ve used. With this last update you’ve made it worse than most. What were you thinking? Also… If I want to reserve a parking spot, why on earth would you use blue on blue type? Instead of playing games with colors and fonts why don’t you think about readability? Upgrades for the sake of upgrades are stupid. Maybe it looks great on some kid designer”s computer screen but think about how it looks to a 50 something truck driver. How about access to receipts within TruckSmart ? How about the ability to redeem my points at the register? You guys are better than this. Take a lesson from your competition.

It was easier to use before the update. The map feature takes longer to load and locations can no longer be tapped to provide truckstop site info. Also automatically defaults to locations only within a 50 mile radius; as a long haul driver I don’t even think in distances anywhere near that close. We need simple, quick & easy, not more buttons to push with endless scrolling.

So what exactly was the point of the update? To force me through a lengthy process to reenter all my info and give my truck a name? Pilot Flying J & Love’s are LIGHT YEARS ahead of you guys in all areas of technology already, so at least put it back the way it was before you “fixed” it.

fix logout issue! We shouldn’t have to constantly log into our account through our app on our phones! This is time consuming and is annoying when trying to look up your locations or view our information. There needs to be a lot of work done to your app to make it more appealing and increase ease of use! Other companies have gone to apps that give you pages based on categories we are looking for and allow quick one tap access to what we want to do at their locations! Fix that, the log out issues, and I would gladly give a higher rating!

This is a really great app to have for truck drivers. It'll look for the nearest TA and Petro, give you directions to it, and tell you what's available (number of showers and restaurants and more) at those locations. You can also request emergency roadside assistance and get a shower from TruckSmart. It'll even email you and tell you what your driver ID # is and what shower you're assigned to. I'd highly recommend this for any truck driver that has an iPhone.

I’m sorry but TruckSmart is horrible. I read all the reviews and on only one was there a response from the developer, and I found it rude. Developers say they are always looking for ways to improve TruckSmart , I say to them look and use the Love’s and Flying J app and see how a fulling app should work. As a professional driver we can’t even enter our fleet card in the payment wallet. I’m sure this review doesn’t go to TA but I would really like them to know I actually avoid TA now as the OTHER Apps. make fulling so much more convenient. TA, because of an app you are loosing fuel sales, well at least from me and those I have talked to. Get TruckSmart together like the Love’s app and I for one will be back.

It irritates me to NO end that the company I lease with as an O/O gives the better fuel discount through TA/Petro, because that forces me to get most of my fuel here and thus use TruckSmart for showers, parking or whatever to take advantage of the loyalty points. Coming from Flying J/Pilot, I agree that their app is far superior! At the very least I should be to set up fueling in advance, and more importantly I should be able to RATE the locations of the TA/Petros that I visit! I find the locations themselves have a lot of room for improvement, and I really want to tell them so. So Head Corporation, please, please, PLEASE! do something with TruckSmart!
