I’ve used CBCNews regularly for a few years, but in the last couple of months it has taken a nosedive on reliability. Problems include being unable to exit a video once it starts and crashes after videos complete and should transition to the next in the queue.

I hope someone at CBC is working to address these concerns because it was a great source of Canadian news content.

I got CBCNews in the hope of seeing some olympic highlights or live events. To date I’ve seen only the “technical difficulties” message on EVERY video I attempted to view, this has happened every day. Perhaps it is because I am in the USA and they don’t stream to IP addresses here, BUT , there is nothing on CBCNews Store that indicates that. So I’ll probably be deleting CBCNews soon.

I get they need to make money off international users but the CBC has so many ads is basically unusable, you often have to watch 30s of an ad just to load an ad-filled article

CBCNews seems to have more ads than I remember from some time back. But my main complaint is that it seems to do a lot of background activity that depletes my iPhone 6s battery causing more cycling to be needed. I have all background activity choices turned off. I recently deleted CBCNews and then reloaded a few days later but after a few days the same thing is happening. My senior software engineer son told me it must be buggy and to delete it, which I will do next.

I used to use CBCNews daily, but now I’m getting interrupted by super invasive full screen video ads that I can’t close?! That is where I draw the line. App deleted. I know ad revenue is important but that is unacceptable.

CBC does offer some true journalism. However, for the past 15 years and certainly the past 6 years it seems what passes as the most important news is little more than feminist, minority, lgbtq ( and whatever new letters get added to that mix ) whining. I turn the channel when I get bombarded with that. Stick to news, not political propaganda.

See NPR One App. The CBC App is lacking a stream of news catered to your previously listened-to content. Or, if there is one, it isn’t obvious. Though the fact that you can choose what story comes next is a better feature than NPR. A combination of both features would be better.

Keep getting box that says “Sorry this content is not available right now”. Perhaps it’s a location issue as I am not in Canada. I was able to livestream local news all through 2020 and 2021.

In your last update you removed the ability to gun the program from my iPhone to Google Chromecast so I can watch it on my TV. Puzzles me why that happened. I hope it was a mistake.

CBCNews is good. No real complaints as far as reading text and navigation are concerned. But I’m having issues with videos included with some stories. It makes you watch ads—annoying but nowadays expected—but then the second ad freezes. There isn’t a way to restart it or skip it. So the intended video never plays.

Push notifications are not respecting the preferences and settings

CBCNews has never let me down, and has sections for news that I can quickly keep up with. CBC news app is the first app I click on in the morning to get World news, along with local interest news and political news. Though don’t live in Canada, the perspectives on American politics help me.

I read CBC news app to broaden my understanding of neighboring Canada, a country I’ve visited many times since 1964. Additionally its international perspective provides a nice balance to that of USA.

Really like the dark mode, only complaint is the scrolling is a bit jittery. Would also like the pictures to be a bit bigger

I enjoyed the unbiassed and most accurate news articles not just about the most recent things that are happening but some of the background and minutia that can be found on the subject. The reporting seems to be unbiassed

I have found the “news” to be poorly written and spur of the moment. It is almost as if the writers are place on a 10 minute limit to find and write a story just so space is taken up. I expect more. Lacking quality reporting!
