Was great but chat is ruining it

I have used DisneylandLinesTP for years and found it really helpful, especially the chat. Unfortunately while the wait times are still great to have, the chat has become a tremendous waste of time. It used to be that you could see all kinds of great up to date info from experts. I really was helpful for planning that rare vacation. But a very small group of “liners” have completely taken it over. You have to read their personal thoughts on things like homelessness (people “want” to be homeless), immigration (anyone without insurance must be an “illegal alien”), and such mundane things as how someone feels about stubbing their toe. I wish I was making these up. What any of this has to do with disneyland is beyond me. The chat moderator seems to think that this is fun for us to read and we can “chose” what to read, but you can’t find any good information without sorting through the personal stuff people post online. Use the online version and print your itinerary, or get DisneylandLinesTP for the wait times. But save your precious time and stay away from the chat, we take disney vacations to get away from this sort of thing. Look for up-to-date info from other sources that are true travel sites with useful information.

I used to recommend this to all my friends, but was embarrassed after the last person asked why I thought this would be useful. So sad to see something so good fall so far because some people they can’t find another venue for their social needs.

Worst app ever

DisneylandLinesTP is horrible. It was never even close to being right on any wait times. DisneylandLinesTP would say the wait time was 15 minutes but the wait would really be 45 minutes. Our trip was from 2-4 August and during that time it never once was correct. It couldn't even correctly tell you if a ride was closed. I tried using the plan function for a 2 day with small child choice, but it continually had me Trying to do rides that were way over any small child's height requirement. I found that the free apps were way more accurate and helpful. I spent 1.99 for the week membership and I should have just given that money to a homeless person hanging out around the park. At least then someone would have got something useful out of my money.

Not helpful

We took our kids to Disneyland for the first time this week. I haven’t been in years. My twins are 5. I attempted to use DisneylandLinesTP and create plans for the best of with kids day and other suggested similar plans. I had a hard time going back and forth on DisneylandLinesTP trying to locate the plans I created bcuz everytime I had to use my phone for something else it would kick me out. Took too much time to get back to where I needed which o didn’t have the patience for while trying to plan my day. Got to Disneyland City Hall to talk to them about plan for day and clarification on best way to use our Max Pass. Showed her the plan from DisneylandLinesTP and she told me it was way too much jumping around to do with kids and lay out a plan for me step by step with what rides to go on, when to plan next fast pass.... etc. and it was perfect. For me, DisneylandLinesTP was useless and I didn’t even use it. All I needed was the Disneyland app and I had everything I needed for both parks. Disappointed I paid for this not to get anything out of it.

Not Impressed

I got DisneylandLinesTP because others in a Disneyland group suggested it. I paid the $8 for the year since I live local and have an AP. I found it to be incredibly inaccurate, non-intuitive, more hassle than help, and a complete waste of time and money. The line wait times were way off, I tested 3 times and they were all at least 15 minutes off. I would have been happy to share real time info (e.g. heard the announcement that one of the Soarin theaters went down, doubling the wait time), but couldn’t find a way to do that. I’m not going to work that hard to figure out a PAID app that is supposed to save me time. I ended up wasting park time trying to use it.

Wish I could get a refund as I used it a total of 4 hours before ditching it.

Disneyland time estimates are way off

We just completed three days at Disneyland Resort. I created a plan for each day, but in the end I found that the estimate of how busy the parks would be and the estimated times for getting through attractions was so unrealistic that I abandoned their plan and really just used DisneylandLinesTP as a checklist.

I don’t know if it’s because of the summer holiday season, or because Independence Day is next week, but the crowds were much heavier than DisneylandLinesTP accounted for. We were begging the planned schedule before we completed the first attraction each day, and standby wait times far exceeded what the plan estimated, so the plan quickly became useless.

Also, there are bugs in that DisneylandLinesTP would not accept lightning lane return times when I could enter them, and you cannot enter a lightning lane return time if the plan did not recommend getting one, which was another factor in having to abandon the plan.

Great data, awful UI makes me not want to use it

Clearly the data is impressive— lines are almost always closer to what TP app says than the official Disneyland app. The features, like cloning suggested plans and modifying them to your heart’s content, then getting updates on wait times accordingly, are powerful.

But the UI is terrible. Unhelpful errors (“Error 01!” What does that mean?) I got an hour ago persist at the top of the screen. Difficult to navigate, aesthetic looks about 10 years old. Seems like they really don’t care about user experience. Find myself jumping back to the official app because it’s just easier (and Disney’s apps are no panacea either.)

Hope the devs improve the UI to match the top quality data.

Helpful to plan but not as great as I thought

I was quite excited about using DisneylandLinesTP during our stay. Helpful for planning but I agree with some others- the wait times were typically wrong esp. for the popular rides. DisneylandLinesTP might say 15 min but it was really 45! Frustrated with Soaring which said 10 min wait and we got there...line was short and then told it was 45 more min. This was not clearly explained on app or at ride. Also DisneylandLinesTP doesn't give you up to date info on ride closures. We hoofed it to its tough to be a bug which app noted 4 min wait- got there and it was closed! Ugh.

Estimates way off

I’ve used the lines app for the past 4 vacations when visiting the Disneyland Resort since 2017. In my past trips the estimated crowd calendar as well as ride wait times were eerily accurate.

On my last trip in March 2022 the crowd calendar was off, I assumed it was a fluke. This past week, March 2024, I had planned our dates around low crowd calendar dates. However, actual crowd data showed our dates were actually an 8 & 9 not the 4 & 6 we planned on. Also, with very few exceptions, the ride wait times were much higher than listed in DisneylandLinesTP .

I love planning touring plans, but don’t know that I will continue to do so with DisneylandLinesTP as it’s proven very inaccurate.

Good but not quite there

Very helpful for our first day but missing a couple key features that made it difficult to use our second day:

(1) DL and DCA use separate plans. If you have a park hopper ticket and don’t mind walking back and forth, DisneylandLinesTP doesn’t seem to know how to optimize your day.

(2) There doesn’t appear to be a way to constrain ride times. For example we wanted to do Grizzly River Run later in the day with a Fast Pass when it was warmer but the Optimize step would always put it early in the morning. This had a ripple effect that led to us to largely ignore the plan.

Also, since we always want to do more than we have time and energy for, it would be helpful to be able to tag each item with a level of importance to us.

Also, the Optimize step was too risky. We nearly missed the end of the 15 minute Fast Pass grace period multiple times because of unexpected delays. It would be helpful to tell it how much risk we are willing to take.

Finally, DisneylandLinesTP is too slow. Many times we refrained from using it because of the sluggishness. This was especially the case for non essential functions like logging wait time. This may help explain why its wait times were often so far off: Almost nobody is contributing wait times because it’s so sluggish.

Love the Unofficial Guides!!

I'm so crazy about these guys already. The wdw book made my first vacation as an adult very hard to beat. I was ridiculously prepared and got SO much out of the trip. As a SoCal local, I love DisneylandLinesTP for a quick idea of what to expect before a trip. I can get most of the info I need here, vs fighting with Disney's slow loading website. It may not always be accurate, but things have been crazy at the parks the last few years, so I don't expect much more than what I'm getting here. I recommend DisneylandLinesTP as well as all the unofficial products.

Keep It Simple!

Perhaps Touring Plans are better suited for the Walt Disney Works Resort parks; however, I’d like to try it again for the Disneyland Resort since I have a slightly longer stay and can spread things out a bit. The TPs tend to compress the plans to the the beginning of the day without any real give in the schedule for fluff time. Break times are included in the program, however I found that they would get rescheduled from time to time. I still think the TPs are great. I hope to have a better experience this time around.

The touring plans are great but ...

My wife and I got to Disneyland Park at 12:30pm on a day we planned to get there before the 8:00am opening time. Life interfered. We had fun judging the accurate wait times for various attractions displayed on DisneylandLinesTP, saw displayed Fast Pass return times, and was able to plan accordingly. We had a blast!
Next time we went, we used a personalized touring plan and we saved hours waiting in line. Bless you web designer Len Testa. I also love your Disneyland and Walt Disney World Unofficial Guide Books.
I know what you're wondering. You ask "If you love us so much, why 4 stars and not 5?" Now that I live in Los Angeles, I became an Annual Pass holder. It allows me to hop between parks. Your personalized touring plans doesn't have the option of designing a plan that would mesh Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure together for a one-day two-park plan. That would be so helpful.
I am also going to nitpick, but I probably wouldn't have taken a star away for this. On your list of attractions to ride, along with listing each Disneyland Railroad Station separately, you should also have a one circuit around the park choice too.
"Thanks for riding and enjoy the rest of your stay at the Disneyland Resort.."

Made our vacation

We used the WDW touring plan for our family vacation that included a four year old, a senior, and a power chair. We were able to see just and do just about everything and still had smiles at the end. Without the touring plans, we would have wandered aimlessly.
I have since used the DL touring plan for a couple of solo trips to the parks, and was able to see some shows I might otherwise have missed and rode some rides I might have passed by.
This program is worth the price.

Great planning app for any DL vacation

I love DisneylandLinesTP. I have used it several times (as well as the WDW Lines app). It helps to get the most out of a day in the parks. The restaurant suggestions never disappoint. Due to so many ongoing upgrades (Cars Land, soon-to-be Star Wars Land) in the park, I'm sure it is difficult to keep up with the dynamic changes. But DisneylandLinesTP does a great job as a guide. It is important to go to the website as well to read all of the tips. I've used DisneylandLinesTP so much, I am able to customize a daily routine and change it on the fly when unforeseen events happen (larger crowds, broken-down rides). Great app to use as a guide.

Fantastic Help for a wonderful trip

We have used DisneylandLinesTP and also subscribed to the website. At the park it is great to have the information at your fingertips. We’ve depended on being able to search the restaurant menus, to see wait times and to have access to our custom touring plans. We set up some plans before we go. Easy to alter as the day goes on. I’m impressed by their ability to analyze all the activities we want to do and put them in an order that lowers wait times. You can plan on meal times and break times.

Customer service is outstanding- don’t go to Disneyland without it!

DisneylandLinesTP helped our family tremendously in planning our Disneyland/DCA days together and each day we used it to keep track of what we had already done and what was left on our MUST DO list. The ability to see wait times and use the ‘optimize’ feature is a time saver. Also appreciated the ability to change the sequence myself according to our particular needs/wants and see how that affected wait times. I had a question about DisneylandLinesTP Memorial Day wkd; sent a question late Sunday evening and received a prompt response the very next morning on Memorial Day that resolved my issue.

Say goodbye to Genie +

Honestly! DisneylandLinesTP , in addition to the Touring Plan, will get you on more attractions than Genie +. My family has used TP (hehehe) in Disneyland from way back before DisneylandLinesTP when you had to print the plan. We are completely sold on its usefulness. Personally, I love the fact that it can update your plan based on real time input from you and other users in the parks on the day you are there. It’s imperative for you, the user, to keep track of your line times in order for others to really benefit from DisneylandLinesTP and plan. We love it and will always use it! Thank you, Mr. Testa and team, for your years of intuition and hard work to build the best app available to get the most out of the parks!

Excellent Cure For Post Vacation Blues

DisneylandLinesTP is great for while you're IN the park, but it's even better for when you're NOT in the park.

Let me explain.

The chat room, close in feel to "lounges" of other unofficial Disneyland apps, is ripe with quality content conversation. Whether you're planning for your trip, wondering which walking shoes are recommended by DL veterans, or just want to experience more DL discussion to soothe your post vacation blues hangover, it's a great place to check and participate in.

As for the service it provides while you're in the park, superior to other apps in that it offers advice along with the wait times. A veteran may see that Indiana Jones is 35 minutes and realize that's a jackpot opportunity to go into stand-by if you don't have a fast pass, but noobs and even anxious vets will appreciate the advice that comes with it in their "go now" or "go anytime, wait time won't change" FYIs.

I also highly recommend the companion book, The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland, as it's the most entertaining literature on the park I've found in my seven years as an annual passholder. Thorough information on the parks and everything in it, comedic albeit dry commentary. 5/5 stars.

Great Help, Even for Experienced Parkgoers

I've been to Disneyland many times, and after finally using DisneylandLinesTP on our trip last week I vowed never to go to the parks without it. We kept close track of how well Lines predicted the wait times, and my family was astonished at how many were accurate down to the minute. While there were certainly a few times that DisneylandLinesTP underestimated how long we waited, it was never more than ten or fifteen minutes off (and when you're at Disneyland, that is not a bad track record). The crowd estimates seemed accurate and sure made me feel good about what we got accomplished in one day. My Disneyland/DCA visit was much less stressful thanks to DisneylandLinesTP; having wait times I could count on helped me focus less on the lines and more on the magic.

Solid

DisneylandLinesTP does exactly what it advertises and it does it well. If you are headed to a Disney park, this is DisneylandLinesTP you want. And the site is equally insightful and I won't ever go without the pair. Thanks to the devs.

Update: at the parks this week and DisneylandLinesTP is great. It's nice knowing in advance where to avoid or where to head based on the line length. Thanks again.

Update #2: I've used DisneylandLinesTP and their site for a few years now. Both are incredibly rock solid and I am always super grateful for them! Thanks devs!!!!
