AccountEdge is infuriating in the way it needs to be installed. AccountEdge doesn't give the user any way to bypass or correct installation problems. Although I have already created an this app folder in DropBox on my iPhone, the mobile app on my iPad wants to create another folder. The setup gets stuck at this point and the setup remains undone. On my iPhone 5, AccountEdge is locked up on the Link Dropbox screen and AccountEdge just shows the spinning circle and not not respond to screen input.

I have been using this app on my MacBook Pro for years without difficulty, but I am totally disapointed with the wierdness of this mobile app. If I could get it set up, I might be able to rate it higher.

AccountEdge has never synced with my desktop account edge. And my desktop account edge is an even 64 bit which is with Mac is begin to require so I don’t even know if I’ll be able to use that soon. Account edge is the only accounting software I’ve ever used for my businesses but if they don’t get their act together and may have to look for better technology.

Mobile app doesn’t work well at all! The desktop version IS NOT 64 bit compatible so you can not upgrade to Catalina. We’re looking to dump everything and change accounting software. The other developers were able to make 64 bit comparable programs, but not this one... Unacceptable!!! Not worth giving 1 star but you can’t review with less.

What’s the point of having AccountEdge when you can not access the info in your accounting software, it is so limited. It needs a lot of work, learn from the competency!!!

AccountEdge is intended to let you look up and enter data when you're out and about for upload to your Acct Edge datafile when back at or near your computer. Reading some of these reviews, it looks like some people expected Acclivity to release a free app that completely takes the place of their full-blown accounting package that runs on computer processors several to many times more powerful than what's inside an iPhone. And oh yes, they were going to blow up their 30 year old company and do this for free, because hey, that would be suh-weeeet, right?

Not really. Because in this reality we all have bills to pay & people who depend on us to take care of them. Well, we adults do, anyway. AccountEdge does a good job of letting you enter all the stuff you would have had to wait to enter until you're back at your computer that night or the next day or week or whenever you got around to trying to remember it all. If you're already an AE user and have an iPhone that you do anything more than make phone calls and listen to tunes on, you are definitely missing out if you do not give AccountEdge a chance.

And if you're not an Acct Edge user but you do own or manage a small business, you should check out both AccountEdge and the free fully functional AE download from the Acclivity website. It's the most Mac-like full-blooded accounting system on the Mac ... has been for many years now.

I purchased the this app software from the company website and was happy to learn that they created a mobile app. But my experience with their software has been less than positive. As an alternative to Intuit's products which suffer from bad ports to the mac, I thought I was getting something to make my accounting easy. I was surprised when they wanted to offer one-on-one phone coaching for the software. No wonder, it's so blasted convoluted, you'll need the help. AccountEdge continues this trend. I use my touch as my computer-away from my computer. To enter a sale, you have to have a customer first. But you can't create a new customer from the sales page! You also can't customize what info is displayed for each sales transaction. I feel like someone is trying to run my business for me. Thanks, but I think i have a feel for what I'm doing. Further, entry boxes that should allow input, don't. AccountEdge feels like another kind of entity like local or state gov't that makes doing business that much harder. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! Go back to work on this and make it right. Oh and offer the same licensing of your software to those that bought it off your site that you give to those who purchase it from the Apple App Store.

Ok, so it doesn't do all that one might like, but for version 1 this is a way cool app! Having control over which cards and items show up so I don't have to carry my whole data file around is great. Not needing to show my mobile staff everything in my file is good too. When i am out of the office making business purchases, i really appreciate being able to enter them on the go and having them show up in my data file when I get back. Being able to get all my activity slips from my mobile staff without them coming into the office is great! There are some things I'd like AEM to do, but I know only more good things will be coming from the folks at Acclivity as we let them know what we would like because my experience has been that they do listen to their users. And for those folks who are upset about needing to upgrade to use AEM - come on, if you have a business you should know better. No return on investment = no sense in investing.

I'm truly excited to be using this app and this app Mobile as a new user. One of the selling points was the ability to manage and review our company books via mobile devices.

But as I set up and prepared to start using this app mobile, I was rather shocked that AccountEdge did not included the ability to do what most might assume a mobile "accounting app" would do: store your accounting data. Now, I understand if the reasoning was that the accounting data could take up a lot of space, etc. But this should be an option, not a non-option. Can we please get an update that is a true mobile version of this app for Mac? A data-entry app is useful, but not for the most-critical accounting functions.

Only other critique is that it would be great if the synching took place automatically / incrementally. Having to refresh and synch on the Mobile and desktop versions is a little tedious. But! I'm glad there are better safeguards against synch conflicts than trying to use QuickBooks on Dropbox.

Great progress, guys! Please keep it up and keep the updates coming! You're winning over fed-up, long-time Intuit customers here.

It is not possible to enter a new customer card directly from a sales invoice which means sales rep has to be aware card needs entering first from another screen

Some windows such as referral screen do not have a cancel button thus forcing you to select a referral source

It's good but very limited could do with more features also a colour scheme feature would be good too allow reps to work in a colour they feel comfortable with

Scanning barcodes would be a good feature too to enter a product for a sale such as a rep on site will scan current product customer has straight to invoice to reorder item

Another good feature would be to limit what screens a rep can use for example only have access to invoices for a sale they need to make and only be able to access customer cards - a log file of what they do such as change sale etc or when in main this app plus to show who edited card or sale this will reduce issues later on and allow for proper procedures to be followed

I've attempted to sync my iPhone 5s to my laptop but not all of the Activities will load. Some will load and the rest won't. Then none of them would load after changing some of the names in an effort to see if I could get more of the Activities to load (figuring the naming was maybe the problem).

I loaded it to my IPAD in minutes, launched the training demo and was easily understood the "how to" of getting my businesses transactions recorded. Just a A few taps and I can now place Sales orders, record time and expenses. And thanks to Drop Box my home office can gets the info with this app! Finally, Free from my desk to conduct business! Whether stuck in the airport, getting new business at tradeshows or conventions and this app Mobile is right on my IPAD or IPHONE, ready for use.

What a fantastic companion to this app Desktop! Creating sales to clients, having item lists available to reference, tracking mileage, and entering expenses, all while on the road, makes tasks back at the office much quicker…the sync feature is seamless. The simple ability to have customer contacts with you while traveling is super helpful…no need to make sure that customers in your Apple Contacts are current because AE Mobile is!

After a slow start, this app Mobile has really simplified our on site billings and helps us keep track of local pick ups and on site time. I is a good quick billing program that syncs directly to our Desktop billing through this app and really helps us track our cash flow, billings and billable hours.

Early versions had a lot to be desired. But the latest version is much faster and the feature set keep getting better and better. You have to be on the latest version of this app to sync with the mobil app. It is not designed by be a full accounting app, but a way to enter sales, expenses, activity slips, and mileage records outside of the office.

If you click "Settings" and "Tax ID Numbers", you get a screen that shows your Social Security number. ON MY iPhone!. There is a button that says "Display Tax IDs" I clicked it off, and on, and it made no difference. I think AccountEdge is made by people in Australia, and maybe things are different down there. But in the US, we keep our tax ID numbers, (we call them Social Security numbers) secret because identity thieves can use them to set up false bank accounts in our names.

It is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE to have an iPhone App that displays a Tax ID number EVER! Especially after only two clicks. If my phone is lost or stolen, it's a huge risk!

I simply love this product. When I'm out in the field, I can prepare a quote, write up an invoice, and collect payment thereby creating an outstanding cash flow. No more waiting until I get back to the office to create the invoice and chase the payment. The invoice from my mobile is at my desktop waiting for me to look at before i even arrive in my office. Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU.

I am set up at a flea market and currently carry Mac mini and peer supply back and forth. Was hoping AccountEdge on the my iPhone would eliminate bringing mini to the flea market. The process of ringing up a sale takes far to long. It is to my advantage to keep customers moving. I also noticed that quantity or customer discounts are not recognized in the mobile app. The desktop app is everything I need it to be. So hoping the mobile app will eventually become useful.

It NEEDS to have account balances, at least for bank accounts. Since this is used to make payments, it is vital that the user be able to check the balance before making a payment. I still use iBank simply as a check register because of this lacking feature, would love not to have to enter transactions twice. Oh, and multiple currencies would be nifty too.

I have been a consultant for many years. I have used handed written invoices. I love being able to do my clients invoices on my iPhone and applying the payment via the intergraded credit card merchant account. I can manage my mileage now and love it.

If you are a business owner on the go this can be an amazing tool for you.

I downloaded a trial of the Mac Desktop software and the iPad Mobile App to start using for a new company I setup. Unfortunately the iPad App constantly crashes. You can't work on it for a minute without it crashing.

I'm clearly not the only one suffering from this problem. How can developers release something like this, seriously!?

When my trial of the desktop software expires if you guys (developers) have not fixed the crashing problem I won't be spending the money to purchase the software.
