Good luck figuring HourBill. It used to be easy and intuitive. Now it is a struggle to figure out their cumbersome UI. Not to mention they took the same app and upgraded to make it fee oriented when the same key features were free before. I don't mind paying to get more, but paying to restore capabilities is a bait and switch.

I've used HourBill for a long time, but they never incorporated my suggestion / need to have sub-projects or sub categories. The last month, the backup to Google servers stopped working, meaning all my data is at risk if something happens to my phone! Am going to get a different app.

HourBill works well. It does what it says it's going to do. The reason I wanted to write a review is because I just had an interaction with their customer service that deserves recognition. I got a new phone over the weekend and when I transferred my apps, all my historical billing disappeared. Yikes!! I realized I could easily restore it from the this app server, but because I had changed my apple ID when I got my new phone, something wasn't clicking and the program didn't realize I had already upgraded my this app software ... I emailed the support folks and got a response within 30 minutes asking for more details of the situation. I replied and got a follow-up email within an hour. Problem completely resolved. For a $5 app, I was seriously impressed.

(Only 4 stars because HourBill isn't always intuitive...but it works after you figure it out.)

HourBill has made my life easier as I juggle multiple clients! The only thing that bothers me is having to save every entry...start date, time, end date, time...we should have to save after the complete entry, but other than that it's great!

I love how I can keep all my clients accounts organized with a job description and pay rate. My clients are really impressed that I can invoice them and email it as I am speaking to them. I also use it for my personal use; keeping track of my free time. I am glad that I upgraded, my sanity thanks you!!

I've had 3 different jobs that I've used HourBill for (including 2 at the same time). It's made it very easy to keep hours straight and my bosses have found it very easy to pay me and keep time records from the export feature. One of the best app purchases I've made.

I have been using HourBill since it was introduced, it does an excellent job of keeping track the hours and expenses for multiple projects.
The recent addition of a calendar makes it even more useful.
Recommend it very highly.

Being a consultant and working for myself this app has saved me SO much time and is easy to use. The developer has always always been quick in response when I have had a question (I am technically challenged). It is the best $4.99 you will ever spend!

Been using HourBill for 3 years now and love it. It takes a little while to understand all the features, but I keep track of my time, costs, etc. and send invoices to clients from my phone. It saved me in times when clients ask for detailed recaps on time expended.

I'm using HourBill to keep track of my hours at several volunteer stations. Works great for this purpose. Developer is very responsive to suggestions and questions.

I tried out many variations of this type of app. This one is perfect, when it comes to logging time and pay. It's simple. My only problem is job expenses I need to use another app.
I emailed the company, they got back to me quickly and promised they were working on it. 5 star for what it is. Simple precise log of your time.

I tried a few other free apps available for keeping track of hours worked with each client but found the interface lacking. It app was jut the opposite. It allows you to quickly log hours, change pay rates and add notes to each session. HourBill has everything I was looking for and more. I don't use the export / invoice feature but it looks pretty slick. I plan to upgrade soon (even though I do not plan to track more than two clients, the developers deserve it).

OMG! I love HourBill! I juggle multiple clients daily, and each encounter requires a note. Some of the notes are long and detailed. HourBill does it all. I used the free version for several months, and just upgraded to the paid version because it allows more active clients. I would recommend HourBill to anyone doing community based medical services, like home health or community based mental health, as well as legal. Really anyone doing billable hour work in the medical or legal field, because you can include a case note with each client encounter. Amazing App!

As a physician who has several contract jobs that require keeping up with the minutes I spend working for them I have had difficulty keeping a detailed record until I found this app. Now I can make a quick note of any services provided and have it ready to email at the end of every month. The ability to archive my records and back them up is very important for me. I even keep some personal accounts of people I need to pay for various services which helps me keep up with such expenses.

I work as an independent IT consultant. I spent weeks looking for a quality app that I can keep track of the time I spend on site at a customer or performing remote support. I found this app and there it is. I show up to a customer, start this app and get along with my work. When I'm done, I go back into this app and input the details. Easy as that. The next thing I do is to copy the details and paste it right into the QuickBooks app and send off the invoice.

At the end of the month, I email the records to the customer.

Can't wait for version 2 and the support from ThorJupiter is quick and responsive.

Very intuitive program with well thought out features. The export function was not working so I wrote the developer. They answered me almost immediately and told me how to fix the problem right away. I let them know of a couple of features that I thought would be handy, and once again they responded almost immediately and let me know an update in the works actually already has the suggestions. They seem driven to want to perfect the program and make it as useful as possible. I am extremely impressed. I looked up their other products and will be purchasing those too. Something so well thought out is really valuable.

I've used several apps like this and this one is the best of them. Although most work similarly on the face of things (tap to sign in and out, set pay rates, notes etc), this is not only simple, it has the best export of info I've ever seen. Usable as an invoice if you want, just as it appears, or can be edited easily to show just the detail you want. Great help menus everywhere if you forget something and instant email support from developer. Simple UI, no extra bells/whistles for no reason.

Note to the reviewer who wanted to sub-divide accounts by billing period- that feature is available in paid version and is called "spawn." Easy to figure out but developers are also responsive and willing to teach. Great app!!

As a building professional there are occasions when it is required to use the 'time and materials' format. Traditionally I would always forget a few hours here and there as I don't always carry my note pad. I do however
always carry my phone and to input is so simple and handy it blows my mind. Probably the most valuable $5 bucks I ever spent. Try it for free - you can't go wrong!!

I’ve been using HourBill for a while to keep track of my employees. I found it easy and very reliable. It’s also easy to email them and myself copies of their time sheets and payments.
