Why even say you offer streaming when it never works? It’s sad that such a simple technology (geolocation) can’t be applied correctly. I am in Washington DC so I am surrounded by eligible listening areas, however WBALNewsRadio always tells me I am not. What a waste.

Please fix. Old app worked new app shuts down every time I hit play. All I want to do is listen. All the other stuff on here is pointless if I can't listen. Why does every company insist on taking something that works and improving it so that it doesn't work?

Terrible update. the radio feature doesn't work, period. Please fix it or return the old app. Click "play" and WBALNewsRadio closes and sends you back to your home screen. I've tried it nearly 50 times and the radio play button crashes WBALNewsRadio each and every time.

Crashes when pressing Play button. I used the old app many times per day, ONLY to play the radio stream. Why add all this other stupid crap to WBALNewsRadio that nobody cares about because THE RADIO STREAM GAVE ALL THE INFO ON THE BROADCAST. What were "the powers that be" thinking??????? It won't stream the radio on any Apple device, it's useless, why why why?????

WBALNewsRadio is ok except for the really annoying so called music between shows where advertisement would go.
I use a program called ( tune in ) to access other stations. I would recommend Tune-In to anybody, anywhere. Lots of stations from each area. If you prefer local programming,

I understand needing to pay for advertising. But what a jip! Listening to the Belmont today and advertisements were nonstop. Missed the entire end if the race because every minute there were advertisements. Are you starting to see the trend?! Get rid of the advertisements and maybe I'll rethink putting it back on my phone.

My main complaint is that no Orioles games are broadcast. This is NOT 1090 AM, which is supposed to be the flagship station of the Baltimore Orioles. Also, everytime I start WBALNewsRadio there are at least 5 long commercials right off the bat. Many times the same commercial is repeated back to back, and none of them are related to Baltimore based businesses like on the real 1090 AM. Huge disappointment.

The WBAL app is one of the mainstays of streaming local radio. It’s been around for years, and has gone through a couple of complete overhauls in that time. Unfortunately, those overhauls have bern mostly cosmetic and maintenance in nature, and little has been added as far as post-2010 features short of adaptations for changing screen sizes and most recently, push notifications.

Sorely missing is CarPlay integration. How can an app from a station with the pedigree of WBAL go so long blatantly missing such a feature? WBALNewsRadio developer, who has published apps for other stations, has integrated this feature (and others) into the other stations’ apps, yet WBAL’s iteration has gone without for years. I can only surmise that the reason is that WBAL has opted to not fund such an enhancement, which I credit has a huge oversight and crippling decision against WBALNewsRadio ’s potential.

Here’s hoping things change for the better and folks aren’t reading this review 3 years from now without seeing CarPlay and other enhancements to this deserving app.

Lately I've been having problems with the broadcast stopping for no reason. Sometimes can turn radio off then on again, other times have to totally close app.

This was once a straightforward app. But recently pop up ads are out of control. If there is no way to prevent them I will delete WBALNewsRadio .

Streaming cuts out while driving. Presumably when the phone moves from cell to cell.

I have had WBALNewsRadio for years on my phone and always enjoyed reading the Baltimore news but just in the last 2 weeks the pop up ads will not stop. Every time I open a story and advance the verbiage an ad for a game comes on and even if it plays to the entirety it will not stop coming back up. I even deleted WBALNewsRadio and downloaded it again but that did not work. Is there a solution for this?

Once again, the latest update causes WBALNewsRadio to crash. Developers really need to test their updates better before they release them. Otherwise, when it's working it's great.

I liked the old version because it had a volume control scroll. I do like the news page on the new version, but need the volume control.

Improvement over the original application now that they fixed the audio bug. Worth a look.

App works great. One version had a bug where streaming caused WBALNewsRadio to crash. They immediately fixed it and now it is great again. News, traffic, weather. And the live stream. It's perfect!

Live streaming works with no issues.. I can now hear my favorite shows @ work!!!

WBALNewsRadio is a big improvement with a greater focus on being able to read many more news stories. It's a clean and stylish navigation. The Listen Live function has also been improved. A great way to keep in touch with all that is Maryland.
