AES Xpress Reviews

Since we're at the end of club volleyball season, I haven't been able to try out the new features yet...but I'm tired of the constant notifications from AESXpress only to find the same welcome message has been sent AGAIN (5 or 6 times now!) or that there isn't a message at all. Obviously, something is wrong with the update - like it's stuttering! Please fix this glitch and I'll upgrade my review to 4 stars.

Otherwise, I've used AESXpress for two years and found it to be helpful for keeping with tournament schedules (both play & work games) and rankings. Some tournaments do a better job than others of updating game results quickly (some lag by an hour or two), but that isn't AESXpress 's fault.

Still wish you could open AESXpress and have the option to select my favorited team and go straight to it rather than having to choose the event, first by state then by name, as the only way to get to my team's current tournament.

As a developer who uses AESXpress almost every week for 6 months or if the year I can honestly say that the user experience is very poor. You can favorite a club, a team our an event but there is no way to jump to those favorites. There are multiple back buttons and the one that is the primary one actually takes you all the way the the main screen again and then you have to start all over. Not an issue except as I mentioned, it is the prominent back button so you tend to be drawn to that one and not the one you really want to use... Very frustrating especially when you consider the first issue I mentioned. Would be nice to be able to pull up a for schedule to, parents are always wondering 'who is that team and where are they from' and when it's a different age or pool on a different court it is hard to find the info, pulling up a court schedule would solve that. There are a number of other little things as well.

In this day and age when technology is constantly evolving, why oh why am I still forced to use this awful app for two daughters for sex months? Why can I not favor a team for a whole season and pull up their tournaments? Why can I not favor a tournament for a weekend so that it comes up prominently after I first look at it during the time of the tournament? Why does the largest back button take you all the way back to schedules so that you have to search and research your tournament? There should be a sign in and then you should get to favorite your teams for the season so that it takes you to those teams, the schedules, the results all season long. AESXpress blows.

By the time I learn to navigate AESXpress & update, the tournament is over. Problem 1. No more favorites button. I'm constantly starting all over all to find several teams I follow during a tournament. Problem 2. Back button to the Home Page covers up the smaller back button for what I'm currently looking at. I instinctively press the back button and find myself back to the home page and starting all over again. Problem 3. Ads cover up teams at the bottom and it's very difficult to close the ad. Usually end up clicking on the ad instead of the close button. That's a good way to gain ad clicks but I never look at it.

App worked originally but was having trouble so I deleted AESXpress and tried to reload it. Now it just kicks me out right after I submit my registration.

Also have same issue as other reviews. Wish you could save a tournament of Mark a team as you favorite and just follow them through the season. Instead if you hit the back button, you have to find the State, then find the tournament, then find your team. Way to cumbersome. I’ll just use the webpage for updates.

I have used AESXpress for 4 years now to track certain club volleyball tournaments. It is terrible. Every time you open it, you have to go back to the entire list of tournaments across the country, then the club, then the team. While it is possible to denote a team as a favorite, it is not intuitive in the slightest. You pull up your team and you expect to hit the star to make it a favorite but then AESXpress takes you to the beginning again. Every time I use AESXpress, I spend 30 minutes trying to make it work. It is maddening!!

Ok, this is my second year using AESXpress for volleyball tournaments, and let me tell you, I am not the only one to find it frustrating to use. All the patents complain about it.
What’s the point of being able to put a star next to your team if it doesn’t give you the option to go to your favourites straight away. And if you hit the back button!!!!! You go all the way back to the beginning! Please make this more user friendly.

AESXpress is great for keeping up on the teams schedules, current scores, and events. I use it all the time! The only complaint I have is if you hit the wrong back button you have to completely start over. It would be nice if it had a location setting while using AESXpress . At least be able to locate the state you are in!

Most frustrating app that I have at the moment. First of all, I paid for the version that is supposed to not have any ads but it has tons of them. In the rankings, when I try to put in a team name it takes the first letter but then returns a search of every team with that letter. If I try to go back, I have to start the process all over again from the beginning. Drop downs are completely unhelpful and irrelevant for parent users.

AESXpress has so many bugs I don’t know where to start. Unfortunately, if you are active in club volleyball, you pretty much have to use it because it’s the standard platform for nearly every tournament.

The most frustrating aspect is that you can’t set a favorite team. You have to go through the filters EVERY TIME and half the time the menu does nothing when you enter something.

If you manage to make it to your team rankings and you want to back up to their tournament schedule, good luck. The red back arrow only works half the time. This means you have to go all the way back to SCHEDULES to filter down to your team again...if that menu even works.

Total garbage. But you pretty much have to use it.

It’s completely unacceptable that people have been reviewing AESXpress a 1 star rating for the exact same reasons every year for 8 straight years. DO SOMETHING!!! They tell us to download AESXpress at the tournaments and AESXpress is worthless!!! You are leaving yourselves wide open for a competitor to move in if you are okay with irritating thousands of parents every tournament for 8 straight years. Enough is enough!!!

I haven't found AESXpress any more useful that just using the AES website. You still have to click through State, tournaments, and then locate your team. AESXpress allows you to designate teams as "favorites", but even with favorites, you still have to click through State & tournaments. What's the point of favorites? It does do a nice job summarizing Schedules (next play & next work) all in one place, but that's the only benefit.

AESXpress is annoying bc you constantly have to start at the beginning. Last year we could favorite a team and go right to it. This is the 1st tournament of the season & ours isn’t listed under the state (pa) so now I have to scroll through 50 tournaments then find each of my teams every time I look at it. C’mon update it to be more user friendly!

This is the worst app I have ever downloaded. It seems as if they intentionally made it unintuitive and hard to find the tournament you are looking for. And once you find it, you have to go through the same &!@# process every 10 minutes to get back to it. Someone please build a better app and put them out of business!

AESXpress has the potential to be very helpful but because it never works it is awful. You can’t ever save your team as a favorite and if you it only works half the time. When you pick a state it only works sometimes so you have to scroll through every tournament. When you load your team it only works 1/4 of the time. Just awful!!!
