So upsetting

I have been using this for years with no problem. When I changed my phone I couldn’t transfer the original app since they changed it to a subscription model, even though it says the existing accounts would work but they don’t. And are now charging $30 for what?? A horrible service! Thank God I have another camera and app to use because you guys are ripping people off for a lousy app. Unsubscribed!

No Longer Works. App is now USELESS.

So they changed to a subscription model, as a money grab. But then they say you can keep the existing functionality as an existing user. One problem: it no longer works. ShutterSnitch finds and connects to the EyeFi network but the images never start transferring. Nothing happens. Nikon D800 and EyeFi Pro. Been using this setup for as long as I can remember, no issues. Now totally useless. Greed destroyed a good thing. Don’t waste your money on this garbage.

Subscription model adds nothing but headache

You’re really paying to rent software that doesn’t add enough usefulness to warrant a subscription. It was my go to, now it’s gone.

Ridiculously Priced Subscription App

Zero stars! Another app goes subscription based. I guess I wouldn’t mind a subscription if it were like $5/year to support upgrades, but $30? Come on, it’s just a Wi-Fi transfer app ...

Wont work on my iPad Air 3

Can’t even set a password, locks up and won’t allow character input at all. Would give it at least a three if I could use it even once.

Bad service

I agree that it’s unfair to keep using old version with a limitation. I couldn’t even download with new device. Trying to reset password is so hard and I still cannot log in and nowhere to ask!!

Total rip off

After I paid the full price of ShutterSnitch , a couple months later they went to subscription based. Think they’d give me credit for a year? Nope. Had to pay their ripoff subscription to access my old photos.

iPhone X S max and version 4.3.7

I purchased a new iPhone and I noticed that my reinstall of SS Now has a statement about joining a subscription pay for support. Really you guys are making enough money just selling ShutterSnitch ?

So now I noticed that my Nikon D750 cannot connect completely or correctly. I cannot ever import pictures or view my camera. I’ve checked all my standings and have tried every single bit of troubleshooting I could think of. On my iPad with version 4.3.6 everything works fine. I double checked all of my settings are identical but on my new iPhone no joy. I’m able to connect to my Nikon Wi-Fi network but that’s as far as I can get.

Poorly executed design

There is a ton of room for improvement for ShutterSnitch. The print feature is really bad; there seems to be no way to select what size paper you want to print on. If you export it to the Canon Print app through the share button it has other problems (too long to explain in a review). Don’t spend the money.

Interesting

I like ShutterSnitch but a paid prescription ???? Seriously guys!!!!!

Not The Best Value

It’s a nice app, it works once you can figure out how to set it up. The instructions are ok, but not very clear. I was able to get it after some doing, plus my tech knowledge. But for someone who is not so tech savvy, who just wants to wirelessly transfer shots real time, ShutterSnitch is a bit cumbersome to set up. Which is to be expected given that it works with so many platforms. However, the pics come through relatively fast, it gives some nice options for quick edits. It’s a nice way to review shots right away instead of having to wait for post. But $30+ a year? Seriously? Additionally, it only works on one device at a time which, in my case, is unfortunate. I have two tablets, one of which is really nice, so I don’t relish letting a client hold onto it, I’d rather use the nice one myself and let them hold the not so nice one for review.

What escapes me is way it is only subscription based. Most of the features that people would use this for are “in house”, so outside of the user, there is no reason for anyone else to get involved in the operations. Unless your shots first go to some server then come back to you. If that’s the case then they have some serious legal issues of privacy that is not addressed in setup. Plus, if the shots are indeed going to a server, why can’t more than one device access simultaneously? I mean really, one is simply transferring images from a camera to a tablet or phone. But I guess they are content with holding people’s needs hostage and laughing all the way to the bank. Why there is not a choice of a simple transfer version for which you pay a small one time fee is beyond me. I guess they skipped that lesson in business school.

I guess I will have to continue getting ripped off until I find a more sensible solution, at which point I will drop ShutterSnitch like a hot nail and run.

Not for the faint of heart—but an outstanding app

This is professional-level piece of software. If you’re a low-hours shooter, or unwilling to get under the hood for a bit camera/configuration work, then move along… nothing for you to see here. But with a modest investment of time (about 2 hours in my case) learning its fairly sophisticated features and how to configure it correctly with your particular camera/mobile device, you’ll be rewarded with an outstanding product, period. I’ve just configured my Nikon Z7 to upload selected news images, as I shoot, via my IOS device, to my FTP site. This is exactly what I need, and ShutterSnitch works flawlessly. For users who whine about the subscription price—$30/year is completely reasonable—again, move along, nothing for you to see here. For serious photographers, this is an excellent product.

AirDrop function not working

Hey! I’ve been using this app for a long time! Love ShutterSnitch ! I’m the recent version, airdropping 300+ photos has stopped being possible! I used to be able to send 1000 photos via airdrop! Please fix? Thanks!

Consistently updated for bugs and New Features

Been using this app for years. The developer is dedicated to making improvements and adapting to new cameras VERY quickly and effectively. It’s a great lightweight way to get images on a large screen, wirelessly, and on the fly. Works on Apple silicon Macs, iOS, iPadOS, and even VisionOS. Overall a fast, lightweight but very flexible app.

Works great and offers support

I have been using this software for at least 6 years. Once after an iOS update and the software broke the developer offered me a beta version which worked perfectly on my shoot the next day. I honestly have never had a problem with this software other than what I just mentioned which was actually caused by iOS. Looking at the negative reviews I am guessing the EU really did not understand how to set ShutterSnitch up, though directions are provided. Recommended!

Z9 usage

Update from a review of the z6 and it’s abilities from over a year ago. I am using it with my Z9 to crop and edit sports on the fly. I am able to connect my iPhone to the monopod and pull directly into the camera by Ethernet adapter. Shutter snitch connects to the camera in the background through the cable ( a bit of messing with the IP required), and I can crop, and have pre loaded captions ready as I tag. If I have my mifi connected to a stadium Ethernet cable, my images fly out. Time to shoot, tag, crop and send is around 15 sec a pic. Love this program.

Keeping perfectly good old Eye-Fi card working

I dusted off an old Eye-Fi X2 Pro wifi enabled memory card for an upcoming trip. It honestly hasn't been supported in 5-6 years and was EOL'ed. this app not only still supports it, but ShutterSnitch downloads photos much faster and more reliably than the original Eye-Fi application or ShutterSnitch from Keenai who bought out Eye-Fi.

this app cupports many wifi transfer systems and hardware platforms and is extremely powerful with in app photo adjustment/cropping/minor editing capabilities as well as powerful work flow and filtering built in.

Thanks again for creating an application that keep supporting legacy hardware that just isn't quite ready to die yet : )

Purrfect

Using canon 5dmk IV w. WFT-e7a v2. Super zippy and works way better than the cameras built in WiFi.

Does what is does better than any iPad alternative

I've been a user since 2020 and this app does exactly what is sets out to do and has a very responsive developer who is active on the support forum. Wi-fi functionality depends on your camera's wi-fi abilities. Some camera makers have more advanced wi-fi than others. The captioning and metadata control, along with the ability to create templates/presets makes captioning a breeze.

The built in ftp and connectivity to other file systems from Google drive and Dropbox to Flickr, Smug Mug or Zenfolio should meet amateur and professional needs.

this app on an IPad the need for a laptop to run Photo Mechanic for less than the cost of a coffee a month, and constant frequent updates.

Keenai is Dead. Long Live Shuttersnitch

I was panicking because I had allowed the Keenai app to be archived by iOS. Thanks Apple. I had not used my Canon SLR in many months and when I tried to link my Eyefi Mobi card I saw that Keenai was archived with no way of installing it again. I’m not a fan of paid storage for photos since I already pay annually for MSOffice/OneDrive and have not approached my TB of storage. Anyway I decided if I could get this app to sync to the Eyefi Mobi card it would be worth $3 a month to have instant access to photos on my phone to be able to share and save. After frantically trying the methods outlined in the help forums I was able to get the card to sync. One thing I missed in the instructions is that in order for this app to receive files you must create a Collection (folder). I assumed ShutterSnitch would create one for me on the fly. That’s what I get for assuming.

I’m happy now and will gladly pay the money just so I don’t have to swap SD cards. The other features are a bonus.
