Dear Deutsche Bahn Support Team, I am writing to request a refund for a ticket purchased via the DB Navigator app for a journey from Frankfurt to Berlin on December 31, 2025. Problem Statement: As a first-time visitor to Germany, I used the DB Navigator app to search for and book a route from Frankfurt to Berlin. The app displayed a connection that included a FlixTrain segment (FLX10). I proceeded to pay the total amount shown in the app, believing I had purchased a valid ticket for the entire journey displayed. However, upon boarding the train in Fulda, I was informed by the conductor that my DB ticket was not valid for the FlixTrain segment. Because the app allowed me to book a ticket for a route it then identified as "invalid" for that specific train, I was forced to pay an additional €109.98 onboard (a new ticket plus a penalty fee). Reason for Refund: The interface of the DB Navigator app was misleading. It offered a travel itinerary but issued a ticket that did not cover the primary segment of that journey. As I could not use the DB ticket for the trip I intended to take, and had to pay for a separate ticket on the spot, I am requesting a full refund of the original DB ticket price. Journey Details: Route: Frankfurt to Berlin via fulda Date: December 31, 2025 Booking Reference/Order Number: 808465867341 Ticket Amount: 130 Euros I have attached the receipt from the onboard purchase I was forced to make as proof that the DB ticket was not accepted. Mein Name ist Anikó Orsós und mein Problem ist, dass ich vor fast einem halben Jahr aus Deutschland gezogen bin und kürzlich eine E-Mail erhalten habe, dass ich fast 500 Euro schulde und den Schuldenerlass beantragen möchte! Ich habe mein Ticket bei meinem Umzug storniert, deshalb verstehe ich die Strafe nicht! Den Umzugstermin kann ich mit einer Adresserklärung nachweisen! The worst experience. We had first class tickets from Germany to Italy on an EC. Tried to change to an earlier train. Apparently the app allows to change “seats” to a different train, but not actual trains! So we ended up with seats on the earlier train and no actual train ticket. The app needs to be a lot more clear about such distinctions. The conductor could do nothing to help except sell us second set of tickets with no seats. Another problem - why can’t the app show us where free seats are so we can reserve seats. Even conductor’s app could not show free seats so we and luggage were tossed from seat to seat for the next three hours.

The App hasn’t capacity to say the ticket that you are buying is for train totally full, no place for.
You get the message like something fail in app and you can try many times no success. And when you call the DB number you wait, wait and wait for an free agent that never happen. Pls change your IT team. And I gave 1 star because the app did not permit send with zero star. Another thing is myself can not do 2 rewiews without change the nickname, ridiculous

Evert time there is a Problem with a train the app doesn’t give up to date information. I don’t know how many time I got a message from the app thanking me for traveling with the dB and where to exit, but the train was canceled or heavily delayed and I was still far away from my destination. So it’s good for booking tickets but it’s totally unreliable for any information out of the ordinary. And out of the ordinary seems to be the new standard for the dB.
