I don't mind the Dish Anywhere UI change, although it's not much easier to navigate. But what it does well is... DESTROY the most important function of Dish Anywhere - that being: to reliably stream content from the Hopper. I have reliable internet at home, at the office and on my devices - but none of that matters. Since the update, Dish Anywhere on the latest Fire TV stick is beyond frustrating. I consider myself lucky to make it through a 30 minute show with the program crashing ONLY 3 times! And I rarely bother to try to get through a one hour show anymore because it's not worth the unpredictable sudden freezes and then restarting the program and trying to get back to where you left off. I also subscribe to Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV, Hulu and Paramount Plus. All of these services stream perfectly without interruption. So... that rules out hardware and connection issues. Many folks like myself stick with Dish ONLY because of the remote DVR access. Seems to me that sabotaging the reliability of your product is unwise considering that satellite companies are struggling to keep customers. WHY deprive customers of the services you advertise as a reason to subscribe to your service while simultaneously forcing them to become beta testers of half baked replacements that can only claim success at stealing the prized spare time customers have to seek respite from other frustrations in their daily life.

Issues I am having with Dish Anywhere. 1 - I hear 2 channels playing at once when I first go into the app, have to go to guide and select the correct channel to clear it up. 2 - Then it frequently buffers during shows plus when its goes between episodes or shows the app goes black and you must go back to the guide and select the correct show.

Dish net work is horrible! Absolutely, horrible! My anxiety is off the charts. Just trying to watch anything on my DVR. Don’t even think about rewinding some thing! Forget about trying to watch anything without it pausing freezing up it’s horrible. I’m ready to cancel. It takes me several hours to watch a 30 minute show! the guide is pitiful. You can only see five channels at a time in the scroll. It’s absolutely horrible. The worst ever reminds me of the AOL days with DialUp. I have the fastest speed Internet available. I cringe when it’s time to watch anything in the dish app. Whether it’s on my phone or any of my TVs, it doesn’t matter what location or anything. It’s horrible. I literally cringe. I’ve really been using other stuff but I have all of my recordings that I like to watch on there that are available on other apps without paying or renting it has everything that I need. I just can’t seem to watch anything because of the freezing and the delays even in between changing channels, I nearly missed the entire weather forecast today, because I was waiting to change the channel to get the weather. It took so long I missed the weather just to change the channel and then the little tiny screen in the corner. You have to keep clicking on full screen it’s outrageous. It’s a complete outrage! I don’t want dish anymore. I didn’t like DIRECTV but it’s way better than this way better I’d rather put up with them.

Dish Anywhere is now Dish NoWhere. Constantly pausing and making it impossible to watch anything when I try to watch DVR recordings. Looks like a lot are having the same problem so it is not going away soon. Maybe it just takes to long to get from DVR at home to remote locatioin. HULU, Netflix and others don't use DVR so will take a look at those and see if eliminating that piece works like expected.

DISH Anywhere remote control features stopped working completely. I’ve tried removing & re-installing the application, turning my phone off and switching from WIFI to my wireless provider to no avail. I use the application remote control features frequently when I don’t have easy access to the remote control that came with the receiver. Any other suggestions?

Dish anywhere app is completely unreliable on fire stick. Frequently buffers during shows and when inbeteen episodes the app goes black and you must restart the anywhere app. No other apps are having issues and my speeds are 600mb or higher and reliable.

The new Dish Anywhere that automatically replaced the prior version on my Firestick is a massive downgrade from the prior version. Scrolling through the channels using the Guide feature is significantly slower than the prior version. It is also much harder to select channels. Overall, the new app is incredibly slow. Is there a way to revert back to the prior version? The question may be moot anyway as I am cancelling my service if the the ESPN family of channels is not restored within the next 7 days.

The dish anywhere update is a joke! The fact they just put it out there without testing is ridiculous! I would be embarrassed to put such garbage out there!! A high school kid could have done a better job. Put it back to the way it was before the update!!

App is even worse since they updated few weeks ago. I hear 2 channels playing at once or it keeps loading and no menu comes up. Dreadfully slow and other issues. How could they release this crap to their customers? Was watching a baseball game on Fox: picture was grainy, and lost connection. I stream the Fox app and everything works perfectly. Spoke with Dish yesterday. Both tech Support and Loyalty Dept were "unaware" of any Dish Anywhere issues, or issues with logging into mydish.com I went ahead and cancelled effective today. I have no contract, and own my Equipment (so there is no cancellation fee or requirements for return that alot of time ends up in thousands of dollars in charges from dish for leased equipment after folks cancel). I also closed out on my rollover billing cycle day. My general assessment is an utter lack of attention to detail is taking place in regards to their backend upgrades they are performing. Possibly bargain basement coders (or are they coders) . Dont think the folks putting the server side of things together are google summer of code participants. That said , sat tv is amazing. Why? because it does not require internet. Streaming only works as long as the data rate holds up. it is entirely dependent on internet, and power and access equipment. Sat tv, needs only power and access equipment. As far as dish goes, the segment of the population who go sat tv, mostly dont have access to cable, and/or are on bandwidth caps be it cell data rates, or home internet rates. Speeds are not gauranteed, and service can be slowed. This is the flaw with "the streaming revolution". and it is a sizeable flaw,and is short sighted. Dish could be great. Great customer service starts with happy employees. This is true over and over. people move to streaming. because they have a perceived value increase in their content. I dont believe that to be accurate, however this is where things are. All streaming content "adopters" need the following things in order to be "free" of sat and cable. High Bandwidth Internet High bandwidth internet useage cap Subscription to said thing Hardware support for said thing (be it iphone (updates, monthly costs such as cell phone bill, device payments, insurance, device upgrades, device software updates ect), roku ect) Electrical Power For sat tv/radio non internet add on one needs the following: Subscription to said thing Hardware support for said thing Electrical Power For FTA sat tv/radio one needs the following: Hardware support for said thing Electrical Power Dish, will need to adjust to a 180 if it is going to save itself. Hire and treat their employees really well, and this in turn would result in a better interaction with the customer base it is so badly bleeding. Stop contracting for poorly build Program guides, grabbing the lowest bid possible for functionality (the update that made the awesome descriptions become 1 sentence. not helpful . at all. ) I have no idea if that can be done at this stage. Dish Support said they cannot replicate the issue on their end. They also noted "they" are able to login and use DA from their side. Yesterday for a few hours, I was also not able to login to mydish.com, to my admin account. This self resolved later. However, this may be an issue that is in the startiing phases of becoming a problem. This is a backend problem, with their server side. NOt a client side problem. That is concerning because if mydish.com is unaccessable, then I am blind to the account itself. This is a potential problem. The mydish.com account has been migrating to the "new" system for quite some time now. Recently I went to make a change in the account and it populated a popup that said I needed to prepay for the change(add package), and had a button "click to pay now" in the detail list. I am on a post pay residential w/outdoors account. So. I called them. The tech ipad connected to a supervisor, did not transfer me however to said person. The supervisor told the tech that "there is a glitch in the system asking people to prepay for their changes right now. sorry". I regularly change my packages. regularly. I pay my one bill at the same time. every month. no matter what. Because, thats what Post Pay Means. It is the opposit, of Pre Pay. Now, considering the buy out of Boost mobile, and the rest of their prepaid cell phone services in the recent few years, and that they are heavily invested in the "PrePaid" Cell phone market at this point , it brings to wonder, is this new transision with the website moving their post paid customers over to PrePay, or some kind of Prey Pay hybrid System? Tech Support had no window of when the "glitch" would resolve itself. only that it was known. ok. The time of the mydish.com website transition started about 2 years ago. and is still ongoing. So, if I base this on past performance, and general averages, then it is very possible these issues that "dish cannot replicate" and the "glitch" in the systems, may never be resolved. Like the hopper updates that break the program guide, and so on. Those dont get resolved for several updates for some people, and for some they are never to be resolved. I have been w/dish since 2016. This is the most unstable it has ever been for us. Customer service, is almost non existant now. In 2016 when we signed up, it wasnt perfect, but it has taken a dive, like gravity pulls the falls down the cliff, I do not know how it has arrived at this point, and I imagine there are many things that contribute to the decline of the company itself, however I do agree that unless a person buys the everything pack, there is nothing of any real substance to immerse in for an afternoon. Because the infomercial channels eat so much of the packages. so so many ads, so many, many many more than were before, 11-14 minutes of ads. I time them when I think of it. We had the dishpack add on for a while, which is 10$ mo. And you know what? That paid add on-has ads. lots of them. Why are there ads in a paid add on? Starz does not do that? nor any of the others. I dont get it. We own all of our own equipment. We did this from the gate because of the enormous issues concerning returning the recievers and people getting the shaft when cancelling. We can also sell all our gear if we move on from dish to anyone who has the service. We have decided to transition away from Dish entirely. I have little expectation any of this is going to resolve itself. It is very possible, just like with the carbon Ux update to the hoppers, it will be glitch first and then it will be working as intended. Which is to say, it may not be a glitch at all, but a "feature". Next month we are investing in a 90cm dish. and a heavy duty tripod from tv4rv, and we will be shopping for an FTA receiver. We will build the new system, and when it is up and running we will transition away from dish.

Dish Anywhere has been giving us a 500 Internal Server Error for 8 days now. Here is what we tried. Safari 15 On Macos 12 Chrome 103 on Windows 7x64 Chrome 103 on Windows 10 Chrome 99 on Macos 12 Safari 15 on ios 15.5 I submitted a ticket to support this am. we will see what happens.

Dish anywhere app will not authorize my iPhone, though it has been an authorized device now for several years. I’ve logged out/back in, then deleted/reinstalled the app, and STILL it’s not working. I’ve used On Denand and Streaming hoping to authorize, nothing is working. I’m also not getting the button that will allow me to sync to my Hopper. I cannot use my phone to do anything on my Hopper except watch recorded movies. This is very frustrating!!

The Dish app on my iPhone closes immediately when it's opened. I have restarted it, rebooted the phone, tried different Wi_fi networks, not on Wi-Fi, nothing seems to help.

Dish anywhere is honestly the worst streaming app I have ever encountered! Watching anything on demand is almost next to possible as the screen either stays black or just completely doesn’t work due to error. I swear it’s like they released the first prototype before even correcting all the bugs! Just once it would be nice to have dish anywhere work when I want to use it. Do better dish!!

The dish anywhere Der has a lot of old content. Why does dish anywhere work like I’m watching regular dvr on my tv? I pay a lot of money for dish Dish anywhere has not improved over the years and is still a pile of steaming. Garbage!
