The programmer claims no responsibility for Google's translations. Ok, fine. But when I typed in the German "wie geht's dir?" (how are you?) and asked for the English, I got back "Apa kabar?"

So, does the programmer claim responsibilty for properly communicating to Google what language it should this app TO?

It used to work just fine. then last week, 1 March 2011. It stopped working. I reloaded it. It goes blank or doesn't this app anything.

It needs 3 things:
Clear current word,sentence
History of previous translations
Switch between languages
With those features, from me its going to be 6 stars :)

I got it to work a couple times after downloading it, but now it quit working. It does not upload anymore. Please fix the problem

I bought Translate. several months ago, it worked fine, I downloaded the latest update and now, when I click on it, to open it the screen just goes to white, than back to normal. I have contacted the company, there is no reply!!!

As others have said, it needs a clear button. Also, it needs a way to swap between translating to and from a language without having to return to the previous screen, select a different language (it won't let you pick the same language if you're already translating to or from it), then select the language you want again.

Very simple no frills translator. It helped me out in a pinch at work. It does need a clear text button and that would be great. If it said the phrase that would rock.

If you are translating back and forth between languages, you cannot switch. For example if you this app French to English then go back to this app English to French, it won't let you set the from language to English because it's already selected as the to language.

Otherwise it's the best this app app out there.

I've used Translate in a lot of traveling, but it suddenly stopped working. The user interface appears to be fine, but no translations are shown. ? Looks like an update is needed.

Works great. Please add some Asian countries.

Finally a free translation app that uses Google's translation engine and doesn't ignore Turkish in its setup of included languages. When you think about it: whether you are in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan or Uyghurstan/East Turkistan - in all these countries you get around best by speaking Turkish - worldwide it is spoken by more than 170 million people. Strange that other translation apps simply leave out Turkish.

The apps does it's job as you would expect it and it does it well.

Translate is light weight and quick. The translations are just fine. I like using the share extension to this app whole webpages.

Translate is awsome. By the way!!!! There is a switch button. It's on the page were it says ENTER TEXT. Hope this helped! = [)

Great to help me through my French homework

Only suggestion would be landscape mode but other than that it is my favorite translator!

Now, if only Translate would say the word or phrase, along with the spelling, Translate would be almost perfect, since I have trouble pronoucing words in Spanish, just by looking at them.

It does what it needs to do well. I wish it had the capability to store translations because whenever I use translation software, I like to this app the translation back to the original language to ensure it's conveying the intended meaning. Of course, copy and paste on the iPhone is what is needed. So, I can't dock Translate for that.
