BVG Fahrinfo: Routes & Tickets Reviews

BVGFahrinfo crashed and wouldn’t open when the ticket checks began on my train and now I have to waste time going to the customer service to explain this problem and the 60 euro ticket. I’d advise any traveller to avoid using BVGFahrinfo if you want to feel securely about your train travel. Remember, the train controllers work on weird incentives. They get paid based on a quota system of how many people they stop! They will still write you a ticket even as they see difficulty.

What’s more, I couldn’t go to the DB customer service on the same day that I got the ticket. The train controller’s notes must batch every night to DB because they didn’t have them. You can’t even go to get the ticket rectified until 2pm the next day.

For BVGFahrinfo developers, you really need to get this right so you don’t inconvenience travellers and tourists with these app crashings!!!!!

I downloaded BVGFahrinfo on the advice of friends just before I went to Berlin. The trip planner works well and has almost everyplace you would want to visit in the city

There were a couple of technical problems:
1) The GPS mapping portion of BVGFahrinfo does not turn off when you minimize BVGFahrinfo . As a result, I used up my phone battery in 2 hours on the first day. The only way I found to stop it was to turn off my phone after I had used BVGFahrinfo and then restart my phone
2) you can only buy tickets on the phone if you live in the EU. I do not do that was no help
3) as noted in other reviews, there was no way to use favorites or re-use a recent search you had entered into BVGFahrinfo

BVG made our Berlin visit a total success. The planner function worked every time. Ticket purchases were a snap. Timetables were accurate (and, of course, the trains, trams, and busses were always on time). I think we might have missed some of the sites and attractions without the BVG app.

The new version came with a new design and it is really bad. The “clean” approach makes hard to understand what is currently selected and what will be changed if I click something.

Also it introduced a new bug in the planner. When I chose my favorite locations as the start location, it always change automatically to my current location.

Only works if after the first search I edit the starting point.

Berlin is already the best city in the world, and BVGFahrinfo makes it accessible to anyone that hasn't learned enough German to really enjoy the city.

Seriously though, trains and other transport are 99% on-time to what BVGFahrinfo says, and the logic on path finding is pretty reasonable.

Love BVGFahrinfo! It works as it should and I appreciate the features it has. I would, however, appreciate options for Monatskarte and the ability to add purchased cards to apple wallet for easy access.

I missed my train because BVGFahrinfo wouldn’t connect to the servers and activate my previously purchased tickets. I’m worried about BVG ticket checkers (who are heartless, especially to technical problems that aren’t the customers fault), so I had to wait in line to buy a ticket from the machine. If I have four tickets, this should be information stored locally in my phone to prevent future incidents like this. Ridiculous.

BVGFahrinfo is great for anyone living in or around Berlin and even for tourists!!! Pretty much all the info you need to get around

I used BVGFahrinfo everyday for the last 4 year and I never had any problem. Ever since the last update, I am not able to use BVGFahrinfo because it keeps crashing.

Please fix this problem so I can stop using Google Maps.

Convenient fast way to find my way

BVGFahrinfo shows up as a white square on my screen that i cant open, i then delete the square and come back here and it says open yet I deleted BVGFahrinfo and cannot redownload it. No other BVG app will show the ticket i bought with this one.

Nice app to plan trips on public transport in Berlin. Could purchase tickets directly using ApplePay.

It‘s just bonkers and helps you get from here to there.

If it worked it would be great, but sadly it's not possible to store personal information and so it's also not possible to buy tickets. Please fix it!!!

BVGFahrinfo does fantastic job

Ridiculously buggy. Can’t perform basic purchase functions reliably.

When I try to purchase a ticket, I get an error message saying: System Error - No product ID
