Woefully insufficient

You trust that it’s showing you the fastest route, but it’s not - even if the trains were on schedule. It’s absurd that MVGFahrinfoMünchen doesn’t show the bus schedule or the routes, so that I can plan accordingly myself.

For example, I thought that I could take any S-train to Pasing and then take the 265 in the other direction - MVGFahrinfoMünchen only tells me to take the S6 to Planegg, which you have to wait for, then take the 265...which you have to wait for. When I did get to Pasing, sure enough, that alternative route finally showed up, but it was too late to catch the bus. So I will be late to my first day on the job!

Times are not accurate

We were unfamiliar with the area and MVGFahrinfoMünchen allowed us to get around but not without effort. The biggest issue was the train schedule was not accurate. We almost missed our bus out of Munich because the train schedule was off 45 minutes.

Total dissaster

What is that? Nothing, I mean nothing works. My wife is using MVGFahrinfoMünchen every single day and at the the very basic functionality stopped working, so she can't buy her ticket. I have tried it on my phone and I was not able to log in or add my credit card! Please fix it now!

Google Maps is more accurate

MVG gives the most convoluted route. It does NOT handle SBahn routes well. Usually suggests circling back to HBF for some reason. I would NOT recommend to visitors unfamiliar with the network.

By

Not able to registry

I can’t go forward on registration. Not able to pass without the birthday info. But, once I touch on it, app crashes.

Once valuable, now useless

MVGFahrinfoMünchen used to be an everyday navigator for me. Since the update, it's awful. What were you thinking? What I dislike the most is the way destinations must be entered now. Going to a destination with a long name? Before, you could type the first few letters, select one of the options suggested, and then edit the text of that option to match your exact destination. Now, you cannot edit the text, you can only retype the entire thing.
Example: I want to go to Großhaderner Str. 4 in Martinsried. Previously I could type in "großh", select "Großhaderner Str. Martinsried" from the options suggested, and then edit the destination text to have the exact address.
Now, if I want directions to the exact address, I have to type the whole thing out.
Also, why remove the function to select the time by scrolling up OR down to it? Does it make MVGFahrinfoMünchen work better when I'm forced to scroll a long way up to 0:55 rather than scroll a tiny bit down to it?
These issues may sound minor, but when MVGFahrinfoMünchen is used several times per day, often in hurried situations, unnecessarily long or complicated input entry is irritating. Especially when MVGFahrinfoMünchen functioned great in the old set-up.
Updates that remove functionality are not helpful to users. I wish I'd never updated!

The old version was much better!

I understand the desire to update MVGFahrinfoMünchen in order to prep for mobile tickets but much of the "awesomeness" from the old mvg app is gone.

-the quick ability to scroll down results to see when you can find the next possible time to leave and make it to your destination (the GUI bar graph style chart with connections.) old style was much better, easier to read important information out of the screens.
-when entering or pasting addresses in the destination field it won't accept the address. Instead if you manually start typing sometimes it works or you have to open google maps and find the nearest mvg "haltestelle" manually and then type it in MVGFahrinfoMünchen . Not cool.
-Huge fallback but easily fixable: (put the downloadable PDF maps back in!!! Totally valuable feature missing.
- one plus- openstreetmaps are better than that ancient mapping data that was used previously. And now you sorta get a pin on the map with your current location. That's nice just needs tweaking for accuracy.

Overall please forgive me but I'd be so happy if I could downgrade to the previous version.

Please bring back some of the awesome features we miss!!! Ty

English GUI is back in 2.0.1!

\\
UPDATE 2…the developers responded with the release of version 2.0.1, bringing back the English interface (except for 24h format, but OK). Thank you for listening, it truly was and now is again a wonderfully helpful app!
//
\\
UPDATE...after a week or so of no response from the developer's website feedback email, I downgraded to version 1.1 .ipa and can once again navigate and happily PAY TO USE the MVG system in München. Now if only Apple would allow us to ignore selected updates...oh, that's a different story!
\\

(Title)...and allowed more universal use. Now only Deutsch. Understandable for the location it is used but more or less it now isolated some of the apps former user base. Would a language switch for the GUI be too much to ask?

If you think globally like you did for version 1, the rating would be 5 stars; the last version (I could use) was phenomenal!

Wasted money for poor purchasing design

MVGFahrinfoMünchen , at least the English version, has very little and confusing information. That led me to buy a multiple journey ticket without understanding that the first trip was used immediately. That does not make much sense, I just wanted to have a multiple trip ticket available for future use, as it happens when you buy it from a machine. Contacted customer service and they did not care at all, just pointing out it was my mistake. Not what I'm used to expect from customer service of other apps. Very negative experience.

One of three indispensable apps for Munich

We had a blast touring Munich and southern Bavaria on our bikes with bus/tram/train support for the farther distances. MVGFahrinfoMünchen, along with BayernRadler and DB Navigator were used extensively on our trip and made for a very smooth experience. Very important when traveling with a toddler and 5 year old.

Great update

To the poor people who lost the English localization, perhaps it's a good time to start learning German!

The connections per station in addition to the active system delays is great.

I'm not crying about the loss of the maps. In general the maps in the old app were worthless, they didn't include the tariff rings, so I always had to look at the MVG website to see if my 3-ring monthly pass was good to Riem or Taufkirchen.

At any rate, great update. I would love to see a monthly pass on the phone, but alas, you can't expect too much from beamters.

By

Previous version was better

Previous version was available in English and had offline route maps which were very helpful. I don't understand why these two features were removed. Hopefully they will be available on the next update again.

By

Went backwards

1 lost the English. Which is silly since English is a common second language.
2 Lost the simple maps of the system.
3 figuring when the next bus/tram/train comes is painful and not very comprehendible.
4 frustrating upgrade. I lost useful features.

Excellently thought-through app

Very well done. Decently accurate (+\-1 minute). Great features. Definitely try it. Thanks to the devs on this!

By

I hate it

Horrible app, not happy they removed English and the better functioning older version. Doesn't make much sense. With the updates to google maps lately, MVGFahrinfoMünchen is out of date (and out of touch). Might as well just delete this one from the phone.

By

"all in one" transportation guide

Simple & fun to use
I like the maps too

By

No maps anymore??

This was a great app, until they took away the maps. Now you have no way to see the U-bahn, S-bahn or tram lines. Please put the maps back in!

By

Horrible update, app no longer functions

Same comments as others, lack of maps and English language support is a big step backwards and frustrating.

The bigger problem is the lack of ipad support. MVGFahrinfoMünchen isn't formatted or usable on an ipad.

Please rollback!

By

Localization

Latest update dropped localization, so MVGFahrinfoMünchen is now much more difficult to use. Right before Oktoberfest, too — nice planning, guys.

If German isn't your native language, hold off on updating.

By

sad

it used to be much better, the upgrade has messed up MVGFahrinfoMünchen .

In prior versions, one could see station layouts and push on "later" to get later connections.
