Every year I upgrade to the latest iPhone. This time, the this app app offers no option to reset or select FaceID. At the start, you have to enter your name and pw. If you click the FaceID option, it says you have to log in first. Fine. So what next? There are no other options for biometrics and every single time I open Ameris , FaceID is attempted and I receive an error saying “we are unable to authenticate with your biometrics. Please provide your credentials to proceed.” I do this every…single…time. And it’s now a waste of an app.
I do not like the new app at all! The old one WORKED, and showed what transactions actually were. This one only works sometimes and half the transactions just have a generic title so you can’t tell at a glance what they are. WHY did they make us swap to this?!?!
Ameris just doesn’t work. The transfer money link in my account page doesn’t work. I have to go back out and hit the three bars to transfer money. If you do an advanced search for deposits on your account, it just sits there with a spinning circle. I let it run for two hours to see if it was just stupidly slow. NO! It just doesn’t work at all. The old app worked. Why replace it with something uglier and less useful?
Mobile banking is supposed to be a convenience. Yours is a chore!
I think I need a new bank.
I’m embarrassed for this app after using Ameris and reading these reviews. This bank operates in the 1980’s. Yet, I ride down the highway and see their billboard advertisements welcoming more business. They can’t even seem to satisfy the customers they have now—what are they going to do with more? This bank is known for putting the cart before the horse. They should slow down, regroup, and focus on developing their technology before they try to move on to bigger things. I’m closing my accounts here.
this app please genuinely listen to your customers instead of responding with the same canned statement to every single one of them. We all want the notifications option for every transaction so why can’t you bring it back? That’s a very helpful feature and if you are indeed “striving” then it should make a difference to give us what is helpful. Honestly my middle school students could design a more useful app than the new one. The poor design is enough for me to close my account and take my business elsewhere. And if you can’t respond with an individual statement or without referring to Customer “Service” then I don’t need to hear from you. I’ll just change banks.
Have to get on the old app to TRY to get on the new. Deleted and downloaded several times. I give up. Also a bit confusing. Overall, horrible app if you can open it
The old app was perfectly fine. I was made to download Ameris and now I don’t have access to one of my accounts. It’s no longer showing???
the old app would let me use face id to log in rather than manually make me log in every time. and even when i try to log in it usually gives me an error so 🫠🫠
I do not like the new app. It is not as easy to follow. Please bring back the old!
Simple functionality like Billpay doesn’t work. I got stuck at the consent screen and couldn’t proceed. Viewing the terms and conditions of Billpay brings up a blank pdf.
Ok so this is worse than the old app and that was pretty bad. You still can’t deposit a check. The customer service reps are nice but offer no help and just tell you they haven’t heard of any app errors.
Why another new app ? The other one worked better and this has major issues with signing on and ability to see each transaction. I don't like it.
Just one phrase keeps coming to mind about this change… If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.
I try to search for transactions and it doesn't show me anything. Even the history of Zell, this application is a disaster, if they don't work in the next few days, I will change the bank account to another bank. These applications do not work, they are not easy to use for anyone.
Ameris is absolute garbage. I can’t even get into my account because Ameris isn’t up to date with any changes I’ve made to my account. I have changed my phone number and it will not let me in without verifying but it shows my old number instead. My mother also has problems with Ameris. What an awful upgrade!
The new app for personal banking with this app is aggravating. The older app was straight forward and easy to use. This new app looks like they just threw in extra features without thinking about convenience. The layout is very messy and unorganized. I tried to continue to use the older version but received an error stating I have been upgraded to the new app.
This new app is horrible! Features in old app no longer available. In the old app I could group several payees into one group, like Monthly Bills. It would display the group in a list and I just enter the amounts in the corresponding boxes, click Submit and then confirm and receive confirmation numbers. That option is no longer available and I have to pay one by one. How is that easier? Many other features that were available are no longer available. Why does new and improved give you LESS features than we had before?
The new app is not allowing me to verify my account with my phone number. It keeps refreshing to the login screen.
With this new update I am no longer able to transfer my money between accounts.
this app made me transition to Ameris from the previous one that worked perfectly. This new app is far from seamless, and it won’t even let me log into my bank accounts anymore. The tech department did a great job ruining the experience for this app customers.
Definitely pushed out too early. I cannot get app to load to my phone unless I open it through Ameris Store. Every time I need to go on my bank account I need to go through App Store. Ridiculous could not get on for days. Had to go to Customer Service thought it was fixed and now still having problems.
I truly believe there should be some type of way we could avoid the bug issues with the Zel feature in bedded in Ameris . I am an avid user of Zel and it could ultimately determine if I leave a bank if the features from Ameris hardly ever work. While this app has been wonderful this is a inconvenience to their brand.
It’s really frustrating that this app forces you to choose between getting paper statements in the mail or estatements online. Why not let me do both? I want a physical hard copy for my records, but I also like to download an electronic copy for backup. Every other bank and trading firm I use lets me do this - it’s so frustrating that I’m thinking about just closing my this app accounts after thirty years and moving to another bank.
While this new app might look more modern, it is missing one of my favorite features from the old version. I used to get push notifications for each transaction. Now I have to log into my account each time I want to make sure I was charged correctly for anything. Please bring this feature back! I would give it 5 stars then!
When I get ready to check my balance- although I’ve updated it still opens the red this app app then it keeps asking me to update before sending me to the new blue this app app. It’s aggravating because Ameris still opens the red older version before going to the new updated version instead of just opening what I just updated to
I was forced to update to Ameris. I do kit have all the transfer capabilities I had with the old app and the color scheme makes it difficult to see the account info, especially outdoors.
This is one of the worst apps that I have to use. The old app wasn’t great; this one is worse. And why is it that it takes forever to make a deposit? There are so many pop-ups, and if you are making multiple deposits at the same time the redundancy is ridiculous. I am not a fan of Chase bank, but their app is what you should be using.
Not sure why, but Ameris closes after I log in, so I'm not able to access my account info. This has been happening for the last two days, out of the blue. I've restarted my phone, to try to remedy this, to no avail. Getting old...fast.
Is this legit because my family still is using the “old app” and it made me use this one?
This new app seems okay. However, I dislike how it does not send push notifications for every transaction like the old app did. Instead, it only gives the option of sending a push notification of a transaction of $500 or more. So it will be awesome if Ameris developers brought back the push notifications for EVERY transaction. Thank you.
Dear App Developer: Ever since recent upgrade, most every time I try to login with Face ID, Ameris gives a biometric error message suggesting I still need to manually type in my credentials, even though I have Face ID saved to login. Please fix this issue, it is super frustrating & pointless to use Face ID if app will not allow it! Don’t want to manually login each time. Also recently tried depositing checks and Ameris would not accept my check, kept giving an error message. Please look into these issues! This is on iPhone 14 Pro with latest iOS update. Thank you.
Ameris makes me download it every time I try to use it. Then it goes back to the old app. I hate this.
I was forced to start using the new app. Now I have lost the best features of it. I want my push notifications every time I use my debit card. It helps to know if someone is using your information fraudulently. Please, please bring it back. It will save everyone money and heartaches in the future.
I thought Ameris would work better than the last one but now it’s glitching completely. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it still has glitches at the sign-up prompt. It doesn’t show anything but a space for the username and password it gives me anxiety it actually put in the credentials, not knowing if Ameris was hacked.
I like the look and feel of the new app but it is currently broken. With the old app I had setup where I would get a push notification for every transaction that was made. With the new app the only option I’ve been able to find that is similar is push notifications for transactions over $500.
I feel Ameris is being pushed out a little too early now as it’s missing features the old app had and it’s sluggish when logging in and moving through menus. Once Ameris is fixed and provides me all the options I had with the old app I would be more then glad to update my rating and review.
It would be helpful if the las four on a credit card was on the first list of accounts when you open bill pay. I have three capital one accounts and I have to hit “pay” on each one until I find the right one to pay. It’s a little irritating. Previous bill pay had the last four on the payee list when it was opened.

They really opened up the list of features w/ this new app. Had to get used to the layout/feel, but overall think it is a big, modern improvement. I’m making a fraction of the requests to my branch now that I can customize auto transfers and autopay so much easier.
Like the look and feel of the new app, very user friendly.
My debit card was compromised and the bank contacted me immediately and sent me a new card within a week. I was able to log into Ameris , active my new card and add it to my Apple Pay effortlessly.
Ever since the so called new and improved App can Not do transfers on iPad. Just a white screen comes up. Luckily can do over phone and everyone has been ver nice. Don’t live close to bank.
Very easy to navigate between accounts. Saves lots of trips to town and completed right on my phone.
