I agree with the woman that wrote the previous review. I have pulled my gray hair out trying to understand the new OTC. Like the last review I have used the OTC since it began ordering over the phone with a catalog telling me what I am order from Walmart. I have tried to set up acct thru every web site & always says don’t recognize. As soon as I got my new card I called & activated it. Yesterday I called the number for ordering. The woman I got could not answer ONE of my questions. She said I along with a lot of people have not been set up in your system. She said to call back in a week. I at that point was furious. What is really ironic is you’re offering $15 added to card if you order by January 31st. It’s kind of FUNNY I can’t even get register by the 31st. I feel sorry that our Anthem Insurance uses such a program that don’t work & I had so many questions that their represent had NO CLUE what the program consisted of. It looks like this benefit you’ve made so difficult it impossible to use. I definitely will be calling Anthem. I will sure let them know how disappointed I am at a program that’s supposed to benefit the elderly. Funny you don’t specify how many stars mean good or bad. I hit one star hopefully is rated the worst.

I would give it lower than a 1 star but it won’t let me. I am stuck using MyBenefitsPortal because my insurance company requires it. The scrolling doesn’t work most of the time. There is no back button when scrolling products. I registered (after several days of trying) and went to log in 2 weeks later and my password wasn’t working. I had to set a new password so I used the one I was entering thinking it was not correct. Received a message that I couldn’t use my current password. Jeez! I had just tried to log in with it and it wouldn’t work. Finally got logged in and set up to use Face ID. Tried to log in that way and it again required me to log in. I’d like to choose my own log in and not have to find my insurance card every time for my member number that is really long. The product thumbnails are too small to tell what they are.

1st - cards arrived late. 2nd - wouldn’t register saying ID numbers were wrong. 3rd - NO ONE ANSWERS THEIR HELP LINE EVER!!! Waited hours and hours on hold. Tried off peak hours, Saturday, midnight no help. 4th - finally got cards registered and there are no benefits loaded on them. 5th - after the money was loaded went to renew our gym membership (that has been covered for 3 years) and card declined the charge. 6th - Called SelectHealth waited just under 3 hours for call to be answered. Only to be told it’s Nations Benefits problem that they are working on it. NO HELP THERE. 7th - PHONE APP CRASHED. Finally got phone app to work only to find that you are being FORCED to use their mail order catalog THAT DOESN’T HAVE ITEMS THAT I NEED. 8th - the prices on the web site are way overpriced. ($4.00 for the same toothpaste that at Walmart is $1.00) Mostly Off brand items that aren’t quality. Off brand OTC medicine that aren’t as good as Walmart’s store brands that I use. 9th - NO INFORMATION ON USING CARD AT RETAIL STORE. no list of the selected retailers, no way to know what items qualify. I was excited to go to a store to get what I need at reasonable prices so my OTC benefits would really help us this year; but, WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP.

The new OTC benefits is horrible. I had to call Anthem to assist me in setting it up. I too have the healthy benefits in my benefits card. I went to Walmart and got fresh veggies, cheese and some frozen vegetables. The associate finally paid for one item at a time. It rejected sharp cheddar cheese and frozen mixed vegetables. I called Athem today and she said I needed to go to a Kroeger affiliated grocery store. I drive 3 miles to Walmart or 20 miles To a grocery store that the card will work. This is crazy. With the price of gas and the inconvenience of driving that distance. I am not satisfied with any of the changes. I tried to take an Anthem survey. I called and they were going to call me back. This activity paid $60. I never got a call back. When I called back to complete the survey had ended. No call back, no $60 nothing but I am sorry. I doubt a sorry from me would be acceptable. I am pretty fed up. I will look at another insurance option. I just order healthy and paid $3.25 for Campbell’s soup. I pay $1.20 at the store. This is highway robbery. Disgusting.
The Aop is trash. Went to Walmart could not even use app. First it was difficult to even register through MyBenefitsPortal . Had to call in to register. Rep was rude and pushy. I did tech support for a bank for 10 years and I know good service this was not it. Then after I registered I walked into Walmart only to realize upc scan tool did not work. I called back after 45 mins could not figure it out. I called my health plan to raise my frustration and was another 1/2 hour call no resolution. They tried to encourage me to use catalog. I advised them I want to buy otc no mail orders. I called back a few days later and was told the scan feature no longer worked was on and off phone in 10 minutes. The guy was nice and professional. I wish that is what happened the first 3 calls. This confirms my suspicion and frustration that MyBenefitsPortal developers don’t have it together. Sorry about the harsh feedback but GIVE US SOMETHING THAT WORKS AND IS NOT SO BUGGY! I am even thinking of switching health plans when that time comes because why have a benefit I can’t use.

Cannot scroll to view items on their store, search function shows me Tomato sauce when looking for Vitamin D supplements. What they do list is almost over 2x the price you’d find at your local pharmacy. Card doesn’t work except for a select few stores and even then says half of your items aren’t eligible even though it’s the same product listed on their personal shop. I assume they do this to force people into using their storefront instead. So essentially you’re only really receiving half of the shown benefits because of the inflated prices.
I’m very sad Aetna switched to this over my Healthy Foods benefits card as I used that for all my fresh produce. Especially now that EBT has been lowered due to the Covid slowdown we’re back to receiving only $26 and the Healthy Foods benefits was so important for me. It goes to show that where insurances can save money they most certainly will at the expense of their customers.
You really can’t invest money into at least making MyBenefitsPortal functional since we can’t really use the card in stores?

-Scanner doesn’t work for ANY item in store (tried at Walmart, CVS and Kroger). Even items that were covered during checkout showed up when scanned through MyBenefitsPortal as “not eligible”. Making it impossible to know what will actually be covered until you go to pay, meaning you may have to embarrassingly put many items back. -App glitches constantly when trying to look at online catalog -Items in the online catalog are crazy over priced, which defeats the purpose of having a benefit to HELP those with a low income/disabled. -Barely anything is covered in stores. Went to Kroger and bought all vegetables and a few other healthy foods (like applesauce, cereal, etc) and benefit card barely covered half of the bill.
I understand we are blessed to have some help financially, but its beyond embarrassing to have to ask the employee working at the register to take off half of your items because you can’t afford it, while a dozen other people are in line behind you waiting to checkout. The fact that I am lucky if the card covers more than $20 out of $100 bill is sad, especially when I KNOW most of it is healthy food. I can understand a small issue here and there, but this entire app and program is an absolute joke. I refuse to order through MyBenefitsPortal (that won’t let me scroll up/down half the time making me exit and re-sign in each time), especially when they price the items more than double than any of the stores they “cover”.

What I mean by that is MyBenefitsPortal is supposed to help the elderly… It’s steals from the elderly. Highway robbery at its best. They want us to mail order from this company, let me give you an example. Soup: $3.80. I can’t even write this review without getting my blood pressure up to stroke level. This is the worst app worst company worst everything that I have ever used and I am 66 years old so that’s a lot of stuff I have used but this is got to be the all-time WORSE! I ordered the medicine lockbox. Was I in for a treat or so I thought. I paid $45 for a PLASTIC lock box… seriously ALL plastic, $45! This doesn’t help the elderly, all it does is rip the elderly off. We used to be able to order through Walmart online. Oh no, not now. Do you have to be there personally to use your card at Walmart. What about the Elderly that doesn’t drive? What about the elderly that doesn’t even have a vehicle?. Will you get my point I wish I knew who to complain to about this. Good luck, because you’re gonna need it.

Rec’d one card for both the Anthem flex acct & OTC products instead of 2 cards as in prev years. This card cannot be loaded on the walmart site as we did before - Walmart wants a 4-digit PIN which the card doesn’t have & will no longer allow it to be entered as a health benefit card, gift card, or any prepaid card. The card supposedly activated ok on this Nationsbenefit site but I could not set up an acct to track usage or see products as the site says member ID not found. We order online from walmart all the time instead of trying to get to the store - how are we supposed to use this card now? Why the total deterioration this year? Everything was fine before you went to one card instead of 2 - apparently to save money? Only gave this 1 star since it won’t let me send a review with 0 stars. Now it’s demanding a nickname but says all 23 words that I’ve tried are already taken. This whole thing isn’t worth the effort.
This is by far one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. How can a insurance company worth billions of dollars make a app that doesn’t function? There is no easy way to scan unless you tap on a product. Why not just put a button to tap to go to the scanner mode. No one knows what is eligible or isn’t eligible because you make it so complicated to simply scan a item in a store. It’s ridiculous, I’m scared to use my card out of embarrassment if something isn’t covered because there is no easy way to find out. Who wants to enter a UPC in 2023 almost 2024? What if someone can’t see well enough to type it? Then pick the store, and even if it’s covered 90% of the time, it won’t show it’s covered it says the product doesn’t exist. How does that make any logical sense? Literally just add a button to scan, that would make things 1000x more convenient for EVERYONE.

MyBenefitsPortal is trash!! I’ve NEVER had so much trouble with an app in my life! And their so called “ Customer Service “ is a complete joke also! You sit on hold for over two hours to be hung up on. MyBenefitsPortal kicks back to the. Login page every time you try to authenticate your account. Not to mention it took over an hour just registering my account online. Whoever decided to use this company made a huge mistake and as far as Im concerned I will be switching my insurance if they are going to continue using MyBenefitsPortal. There is absolutely no way to fix this because you can’t even talk to anyone. I’ve tried a different browser and different phones nothing works so I know it’s not a problem on my end. I called my insurance company and they said they’ve been overloaded with phone calls about this. Good luck if you have to use MyBenefitsPortal, site, company period!!

Maybe this will save someone some frustration- both the website and MyBenefitsPortal ask for your insurance card ID to register/login. It says if your card starts with three letters, to drop those. Well, my ID number does NOT start with three letters; it is letter, number, letter, so I didn’t drop them and kept getting a message saying it was an invalid ID. Turns out you have to drop the first three characters regardless of what they are. So try that if you are having a problem. Also, calling this company is exhausting; you can’t get a person, and it takes forever to even be able to check your balance on the automated system (which is why I downloaded MyBenefitsPortal ). I’m only planning on using MyBenefitsPortal for balance checks. I’m not ordering online since they stopped using Walmart. I just use my card at the drugstore.

The user interface of MyBenefitsPortal is horrendous and the site is exactly the same. You expect the elderly to be able to use this!? It’s a mess. There is no back button and some of the items have absolutely no description whatsoever, add the fact that the prices are cartoonishly high, it’s like they’re being penalized for daring to order online.
I do all the ordering for my mother and it’s always a pain and it’s always too much. Before her insurance switched to this company she could effortlessly get whatever she needed with ease and within budget, now it’s a constant cycle of seeing what can wait till the next month.
It’s a disgrace, ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE involved in the conception of MyBenefitsPortal and company should be ashamed. Congratulations you’ve made the lives of the elderly worse. It’s despicable! I’m. I’m appalled and disappointed.

MyBenefitsPortal literally is useless. First of all I am helping my parents because MyBenefitsPortal is the only way to use the benefit. There are socioeconomic barriers like language, technology proficiency. At first there are items in the catalog but after adding some to my cart and continuing to search, the catalog doesn’t populate any more items and my cart becomes empty. Fine. If I need to, then I planned to buy in store for my parents and check product eligibility. However, to even check upc or the product name there are required fields with empty drop down options! You can’t even complete the form to submit and check eligibility. Besides buying aimlessly and hoping we don’t get stuck with a bill we can’t pay, how can these issues be resolved when even the phone help line keeps cutting off and doesn’t reach a person.
I really hate MyBenefitsPortal and this company! Trying to use MyBenefitsPortal drives up my blood pressure my anxiety and my frustration! It’s bad enough that everything is so triple the cost of what it should be for the quality that it is but then to have to deal with this frustrating app which you have to go back to the beginning every time you click on some thing and try to go back and shop some more it starts over completely!!! It finally allowed me to use touch sign in but yet I still have to enter my member number and my password to be able to access my account. This is the most frustrating thing I have ever dealt with and I have dealt with a lot of apps! If it wasn’t for the fact that I needed these benefits I would never use MyBenefitsPortal!!!
Buggy App with Unnecessary Change

MyBenefitsPortal itself is buggy and difficult to use, and I’m someone used to using apps. They’ve monopolized online orders which is an extremely annoying and upsetting change because Walmart’s app and website was configured to work with benefit cards such as what MyBenefitsPortal is for, and makes the entire process seamless. This network forces you to make online orders with them only with items that aren’t available for me or items that I can’t use. I was able to get products from Walmart that I can’t get here. But back to MyBenefitsPortal itself, as I said it’s very buggy and keeps resetting to the homepage when you’re trying to explore the categories. And since they’ve made it so you can’t online order anywhere else, items I want from Walmart have to be purchased in the store - which is incredibly inconvenient because you have to search on MyBenefitsPortal to see if that item is still covered. But the search barely works! When I search the exact name of the underpads I use, they don’t show, but if I search just underpad, a bunch of items show including the one I just searched for. The categories in the search are incorrect as well. Why is liquid soap coming up under toothpaste? And WHAT liquid soap can I get?! Such a terrible switch and app. Extremely disappointed and upset with this and will be complaining to my insurance company.

When trying to see if an item at the store is eligible on the “Check Product Eligibility” page in MyBenefitsPortal , everything I look up does not show. It is clearly not functioning and needs to be fixed!
The Benefits Prepaid Flex card does not cover many food items at Walmart. These are items your website and membership paperwork specifies that should be covered. We are stuck being humiliated standing at the checkout counter and having to either put items back or pay out of pocket. There is no definitive list of eligible items. The receipt does not indicate which items were not covered so there’s no way to plan purchases accordingly to prevent this from happening again. Plus the Nations My Benefit customer service is non existent. I spent 3 hours waiting on hold (and an hour several other times) with no answer. The phone is the ONLY way to try and reach them. There is no email or chat support.
If you read the complaints at the Better Business Bureau, you will see many of us are very dissatisfied and contemplating changing our Medicare Advantage provider. When will you address the problems we’re having?

I have tried more than once to get MyBenefitsPortal to open. I have verified that my computer is compatible. I have talked to workers who cannot get this to pull up in my search engine or on my screen. And while I’m complaining to remove the option to be able to order our groceries from Kroger‘s or other approved stores is a slap in the face to those of us with disabilities and or transportation issues. The catalog with no pictures Is also a slap in the face you literally think we all have a cell phone that we can walk around and scan to see if something works on your program or not and if it does it when we get to the cashier we will have the money to be able to pay for that! Who sat in their office and dreamed this mess up

I conveyed my dislike for MyBenefitsPortal and this company to my health insurance company more than once over the last year! The Nations app has not worked properly for all of 2022! It is difficult to log into and the scanner feature has a glitch and has never worked properly for over a year. When I try scanning an item at CVS or Walmart the scanner always comes up as “item not eligible” but when I scan my card at the store’s register to purchase it, I find that it is indeed eligible. Also there are many more item’s eligible at Walmart & CVS that are not found in the Nations mail order catalog and items available in the catalog are overly priced as well. I complained to my health insurance company again about MyBenefitsPortal not working properly just a few days ago & was told they are getting many complaints which are being forwarded to Nations who in turn is supposed to respond back to the customer within 24 hours. Unfortunately I have received no response. My hope is that Nations will be replaced with a more competent company with a more user friendly app and more reasonable catalog pricing.
MyBenefitsPortal is an absolute joke!! I am much younger than most people using MyBenefitsPortal. I cannot imagine how the folks much older than myself are gonna use MyBenefitsPortal!! It’s difficult to navigate, if you want to actually see what they have, (which is another joke in itself) you click on the item and if you’re viewing all categories it will take you back to the very beginning. The only way to see what they actually have it using all categories. There is maybe one option for most of the items in this catalog. Using Walmarts app at least gave us a couple of choices. Some of these generic brands I have never heard of. How are we to trust stuff that looks like it came from dollar tree??? This was a horrible idea and a terrible app as well. 😡

The Nations Benefit app is trash! Each time I try to log in using my membership ID number & push enter the screen just goes blank. I called customer service line & they informed me that it was a glitch in MyBenefitsPortal & there was nothing they can do. Told me to force close MyBenefitsPortal by swiping up & try again which I did, same results. Told me next to delete MyBenefitsPortal & reinstall which I did , same results. The last program called Healthy Benefits was way better & user friendly. Healthy Benefits app had a scanner that you could scan products in stores to see if they qualified for reimbursements. I feel that National Benefits don’t want you to go to Walmart, CVS, etc to do your shopping. Nations Benefits wants you to strictly shop online.

the only reason i downloaded MyBenefitsPortal was to find grocery stores where my card is accepted. it won’t let me proceed to search because of the same glitch their dumb website has. it wants you to select a wallet but neither the website NOR MyBenefitsPortal allows you to do so…. and therefore you can’t search. there’s not even a list of stores available online! every website says to use the nations website or MyBenefitsPortal to locate the stores that accept this card. that’s REALLY hard to do when nobody addresses the issues with the website or MyBenefitsPortal . don’t waste the space on your phone because it’s just as easy to check your balance by calling or going to their poorly designed website. what a joke

you can not go to walmart with these benefits like it says and many otc and healthy food items are not covered like it says. I would say only get the utilities 50 dollars a month option because it does cover my phone bill when i pay my phone bill with the debit card luckily for now. it could possibly change. i will change the review lower if that happens. for the food benefit of 75 dollars a month, i only use MyBenefitsPortal and get the food through that and it is ok. food cost more on MyBenefitsPortal than at walmart but its better than nothing. i only use the over the counter items on MyBenefitsPortal as well when i purchase the canes they sell and other nick knacks. i would definitely buy something way better if i had the money myself but its better than nothing and you still get health insurance coverage as well which is better than not getting any at all. its a light 3. very light. only reason its not 1 star is because i need the health insurance and silver sneakers is nice

I'm writing this review AFTER updating MyBenefitsPortal .. which according to the update description, would fix "minor" bugs, but unsurprisingly, nothing has changed. As with another reviewer, I also have to provide info two separate times to log in despite choosing the biometric option several times; the "old" app (recently discontinued in Jan 2023) biometric worked just fine, so it's not my mistake! I'm also having the issue of not being able to order items I see in the print catalog.. I will enter the item number and get a screen saying there's no match; so I will enter the item's NAME and still get told there's no match. So I tried searching under the category of the item I want and it's a hit or miss.. sometimes it's successful and sometimes not. When I'm simply browsing, I'll be scrolling along and about the time I see something interesting and stop scrolling, the page reloads or refreshes?.. whatever it's called, suddenly I'm back at the top of the page and have to scroll again, hoping to find the item I had wanted to examine, and again it's a hit or miss if I can find the item... and when I stop scrolling, POW, it refreshes or reloads or whatever AGAIN. And the barcode scanner never has worked, neither the old app, the new app, or the updated version. So, basically in my opinion, MyBenefitsPortal is only useful to check your balance, and frankly that's easier to do on the website because you don't have to jump through hoops to log in on the website.
After being on hold for 25 minutes, I spoke to a very nice technician (Marcel). With a 45 second conversation he informed me that I needed to drop the first 3 characters of my member ID to register for my account. I did as he told me and everything else went like clockwork. I ordered a couple of items and the site is very easy to use. This would have been a 5 star review if this information would have been on the recording that played endlessly for 25 minutes or been added to the registration page to begin with. I hope this helps everyone having problems with registering.
