Not for those with trauma

If you have a history of trauma, PTSD, or Complex PTSD, VoiceMentalHealthGuide is not a good fit. The questions they ask in the beginning don’t really reflect your experience well. I still tried to listen to 2 stories but had to stop both of them. The first story had sound effects of someone running with their breathing and heartbeat getting faster and faster (like running for your life sounds) and the second one was a scenario where you’re the animal trying to avoid a Hunter who is after you. Both of these triggered terrible flashbacks. I’m sure this might be ok for people without trauma, but there should def be some kind of warning for those of us who are already suffering enough.

Very Dramatic

Always looking for a method of meditation and focus that works for me, resonates with where I am at that can take me further. For me this apps methodology of sound scape is too harsh and overwhelming, think about the Dolby Digital trailer before a movie with a strangely energized voice leading you, it eally takes you out of your way, I was not very redemptive to its energy. So much so I completely forgot about it after using it just the once and forgot about the subscription renewal!!! A reminder would have been nice.

It’s Good, But…

Let me just say I do like VoiceMentalHealthGuide. However I have 2 issues…1. The meditations/stories aren’t long enough. They are good but too short. I am just about to relax and the session is over. So I have to find another. 2. The Devs don’t update or add new content enough. The mthly price is $15 not a great deal especially when there’s no new content. Run a Special or lower the price because it’s not a good value.

Helpful and unique app

I love VoiceMentalHealthGuide. The main thing I don’t like about it is that often the sessions tell you to think about a positive or happy childhood memory. I guess they assume everyone has those. They’re wrong. I wish they had an alternative suggestion there and I wish they had models set to overcome past trauma and also assist with PTSD. Still I like it and at least their price for a year is reasonable unlike Youper or other apps. I also find it’s more unique than other similar apps. If you’re looking for an app of this type definitely give it a try, the first week is free.

Relay Race

This was a fantastic visual for me because I do this all the time. When you’re focused and on task - and do not get distracted or let your mind wander into thought mode - you wont risk the danger of attaching to a thought that takes you away from your goal or task at hand. It isn’t easy - however this journey really helped me see how easy it can happen and also how easy we can let go of negative thinking just the same, it’s simply a choice. Visualization is very powerful. Thank you!

Great for mental health!

VoiceMentalHealthGuide was better than I anticipated! If you are working on bettering your mental health, this is VoiceMentalHealthGuide for you! I have anxiety, depression, & ADHD. VoiceMentalHealthGuide teaches you how to navigate through all of the daily tasks you may struggle with. 10/10 recommend!

Easy, fun, and effective

A lot of science went into creating VoiceMentalHealthGuide but it feels more like I’m playing a game than working on self improvement, which is exactly why it works.

I was immediately taken into a dream like state and was intrigued. Somehow, it hit the spot at the present moment, so I went with it.

The voice is incredible! I love the set up and the way everything moves. Just fascinating!

Very inspiring and helpful

I just started using voice, but I feel it will be a good fit for me. The program is very insightful and the presentation is easy to follow and understand. The female voice in VoiceMentalHealthGuide is very soothing and relaxing as well.

Different

I love the short engaging sessions that keep it interesting. I can close my eyes for a few minutes and feel like I’m actually in the scenario that is being described. There’s no focusing on my breath or trying to stop random thoughts.

Nice app but confusing navigation

I like VoiceMentalHealthGuide , but I really dislike the navigation. I find it very confusing to understand which order it’s suggesting for you to take (specially if you miss a day or two and need to get back in rhythm

A different approach

This was different. It wasn’t just logic and teaching, I’ve been doing all that stuff for years, and while that has been helpful, this is a different way of going into your mind and body at the same time and really forming new neurological pathways. Or so it seems!

Just what I Needed!

The visualization exercises are just the right length and very uplifting! Scenarios are simple and very relatable for anyone. A nice, positive message resonates with you the rest of the day. Sound quality and voices of guides are first-class. After doing VoiceMentalHealthGuide in the mornings, I feel like I can tackle each day and come out on top!

Don’t need to bother you with details, but I never thought an app like this one would exist at all. Long story short wether you’re looking for something like this or not, I’d suggest give it a try. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ I am not lying when I’m saying this was an immediate effect on my mental state. I love it, this will be my new daily thing

Truly Transformational!

This is hands down the most brilliant app! It pushes you to use ALL your senses and become one with the exercises. I meditate 3 times a day and am constantly looking for new resources as I’m working on my PhD in Philosophy, majoring in Metaphysics, however, VoiceMentalHealthGuide is literally my personal guru pushing me daily to be better, do better and find myself! Highly recommend for anyone on a spiritual journey!

Enjoying This So Far

As someone who is struggling with bipolar disorder and is blind, I'm really liking VoiceMentalHealthGuide. I like the immersive audio and sound effects, and how it engages my other senses to help teach me these skills. Some more labels for VoiceOver (Apple's screen reader) would be helpful, but that is my only feedback. As I'm only on my second day, I may update my written review to reflect how well the techniques worked. What I can say is after my Relay Race", I was able to get more done at work and on a Friday afternoon.

Great start!

I’ve just completed the first track of VoiceMentalHealthGuide. Words cannot effectively express the feelings I experienced at the end of that race. It was truly mind blowing and inspiring.
