About: The app is based on several concepts from cognitive behavioral psychotherapy and
contains four main features described below. With Breeze we give a user more
awareness about her/his emotions and activities/things/people that trigger them.

About Breeze

What is Breeze?

Breeze is an app based on cognitive behavioral psychotherapy concepts that helps users improve their emotional state. It contains four main features, including a mood tracker, negative thoughts tracker, tracker of cognitive distortions, and advice from a psychotherapist (in future updates). The app aims to increase users' awareness of their emotions and the triggers that affect them, and provide techniques to help them criticize negative patterns in thinking.

Features

1. Mood tracker: A daily mood tracker that helps users understand which situations or contexts trigger emotional reactions. It allows users to create a map of their emotional conditions and be aware of people, activities, or things that make them happy or bring them down.

2. Negative thoughts tracker: This feature is based on the concept of automatic negative thoughts from cognitive behavioral therapy. The app provides users with interactive techniques to help them criticize and fight negative patterns in thinking.

3. Tracker of cognitive distortions: Breeze gives users insights into popular cognitive distortions and teaches them how to identify flaws in their thinking and behavior.

4. Advice from a psychotherapist (in future updates): The app will provide practical advice from an acknowledged psychotherapist, covering widespread topics and issues people usually have in different areas of life.

The app offers two subscription options: weekly with a 3-day free trial at $7.99 and annual with a 7-day free trial at $99.99. The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Users can manage their subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal by going to their Account Settings after purchase. The app's privacy policy and terms of service can be found on the Basenjiapps website.

In app subscription.

Now I’m gonna start off by saying that Breeze is great! I love the very inclusive and caring feel it gives for people who struggle with mental health, addiction, recovery, etc. BUT this is the downside. We have to pay. Now I know the developers have to make money somehow but that’s what ads are for. I don’t want to pay for a subscription for self reporting tests and mood trackers. Respectfully I feel like if the devs truly cared about improvement for individuals and their struggles they would make all resources in Breeze easily accessible and this could also be a non profit app. Not everyone is gonna have money for this subscription. I know I don’t, regardless of having a job I have other expenses to take care of so Breeze would just be a waste of space if I can’t use it to its full potential. I’m not saying the company and people who developed Breeze shouldn’t get what they earned but like I said before there are ways of making apps free and using ads to gain profit. I would much rather have a great free app and deal with ads rather than having what could’ve been a great app that I unfortunately can’t use because I can’t afford it. I understand nothing in this world comes for free but taking care of myself and health shouldn’t come with an expense. I hope y’all take my response into consideration cuz I really did like Breeze. Y’all just gotta make it inclusive for everyone and anyone who needs it not just people who can afford it.

Don’t waste your money on this app

I’m generally a pretty easy person to please and I really don’t mind paying for apps. But I was very disappointed in the premium version of Breeze. The aesthetics are very nice, yes, but there is very little substance to Breeze . As of now, there are only 19 tests, most if not all of which can be found online. The tests are riddled with typos, and some questions make no sense at all. There is also a disappointing number of courses, and they really only explore issues at a very surface level. A paragraph and a few lines of text (at BEST) is what constitutes a lesson. From the high price and advertisements I’ve seen, I was expecting a lot more substance. I have been diagnosed with a few mental issues which are moderate to severe, and I’ve been in therapy for a while. If you’re considering getting Breeze and have tried therapy before, it will be a waste. If you’ve never tried therapy, you may get something out of the lessons but it will be very shallow. I recommend checking out other online resources. The ONLY redeemable feature of Breeze is the mood tracker. I like how you can easily see how your mood fluctuates, the ease in tracking activities related to your moods, and the ability to add a photo to the day is a nice touch. And this feature is absolutely free. In short, free version - worth it. paid version - absolutely not.

Really helpful and actually free, wow

I recently started antidepressants and have been looking for an app to track my moods throughout the day. I had a hard time finding one that allowed for multiple daily entries that works without paying a premium or subscription fee. This one is really user friendly, allows you to add custom activities and tracks these and how they correlate with your different moods. This is super helpful for me for understanding other factors than my meds that may be influencing my moods, such as coffee or a stressful conversation. Overall just very helpful and easy to use for specific individual needs. There is like an ad watching for credit system but these credits are not needed for the main features, and so the ads have not been disruptive to my experience at all. Highly recommend.

Misleading advertisement

I feel part of the reason so many are upset is due to advertising on the apps end, I occasionally run across advertisements that say try for free, and sure I may not expect it to be free, however when you show a specific test, or someone using a specific feature thats locked behind a pay wall, i'd say there is an issue. Putting a try for free while also placing someone taking a test that you'd have to pay for is poor advertising, sure maybe you get someone to download it but it ends up being frustrating and misleading. Considering Breeze focuses on helping, it can be a huge let down for people to download an app, and realize they can't afford it and it's way too costly. I have downloaded this in the past, but not for the free features, and due to the features locked behind money I was fairly quick to uninstall. I only came back today due to an ad that was very misleading. Fix your ads for this because Breeze is not as free as you make it out to be. Once you do that i'm sure it'd be a lot better, because at the moment when I clicked it there was a lot of try for frees all over the site, when you only have a small amount actually accessible to people. I would likely retract my bad rating and review if that problem was actually fixed.

This app is a scam.

Breeze doesn’t make any sense, there are typos everywhere. For example, the pre-loaded markers for “what are you doing” when you submit a mood (e.g. “sad”) have some normal things like exercise and eating, but also some that are not even activities like, “travel tips.” The quizzes have questions that aren’t comprehensive by any means, which would be ok if they made any sense. The questions are sometimes not just poorly worded, but actually nonsensical. I hope no one uses these quizzes to figure out if they have signs of anxiety etc. I don’t know where they got these assessments but they appear autogenerated or something. For example, it will say “how often do you feel sad?” And then the options will be “not at all, mildly - it didn’t impact me.” The subscription is incredibly expensive for what Breeze is, which leads me to believe this is a scam. I used it for free for one day before canceling. I recommend using a different app.

Update: I received a response asking for screen shots. I sent one screen shot to the developer, however the issues I’m citing above are so blatant and everywhere that it’s difficult for me to believe this is a bug. I would encourage anyone considering Breeze to exercise caution.

Full of bad results

I took the test for mood disorders, which is basically the test for bipolar. I’m able to answer yes to every single question, including the question that asks if a health professional has ever said I have bipolar. YES. I also was able to answer YES to the experiencing mixed episodes where you have more than once symptom at one time. The ONLY question I answered no to was having a hereditary or genetic disposition to it, no one in my family has been officially diagnosed. And Breeze over and over says I have a negative result. That’s about all I need to know about the credibility of Breeze, when I say yes to every symptom I’ve experienced with my bipolar II, yes to a medical professional diagnosis (which I have), and Breeze still says I have a normal range. This is a laughable algorithm they have developed. Oh dear. Cancelled the subscription after about three other tests were taken, results were less than impressive as someone who’s been heartily enmeshed in the therapy game for a long time. Not worth anyones time. Didn’t even last a whole two hours, and you get a free week subscription. Bye bye apple subscription. What a wasted click bait on an Instagram ad. Can we rate this lower than one star? No?

By

Who made this?

I found Breeze because it advertised a “writing style” test on Instagram. As a writer, I was curious. After downloading, I took a couple of the tests - though none of it was relevant to writing or was the test I had seen advertised. The tests were all yes/no questions, and I reached an error screen after each, saying that my answers were conflicting and Breeze couldn’t give me results - and that I should retake the test again.

Unlike Myers Briggs, which scores on a gradient of answers, the wording and grammar wasn’t very clear, and again, I got another error screen stating that my answers were conflicting. I am rating two stars for the poor grammar and quality of tests, inaccurate advertisement, and ridiculous pricing after the initial free trial. $35+ per month…?! For an app that isn’t clear or cohesive? The creators should really revisit their design, target audience, and pricing, because while I see the potential upsides to a functional app with these same intentions, this is just unrealistic.

Very expensive and many things lost in translation

Let’s begin with the most important thing: after your free trial, Breeze is $8.50 per WEEK. That’s $34 per month. That is a ton of money: basically as much as cable television, but for a mood-tracking app. I’m not sure what I’m paying for here: it features quizzes (like the now-discredited Myers-Briggs personality type) that can be easily obtained for free online. And I found it confusing that in the “what are you doing right now” section of tracking one’s activities and mood, there is no option for “work” or “chores”! So, Breeze would be great if you are a wealthy heir/heiress who never works and you want to track how you respond to eating, playing, and hanging out with friends. I didn’t need the full week’s trial- I knew right away that this wasn’t for me, and canceled my subscription after less than a day.

While I can appreciate that Breeze was clearly designed by someone for whom English is a second language, there are so many typos, misspellings, and mis-translations that it becomes distracting.

Decent App!

I love this app because of how simple it is! I struggle with a bit of depression. I’m not saying Breeze cures depression, but I do find it helpful to keep track of what things make you feel certain ways. I love that the feed has simple things that one might already know and shows how to handle them! It’s a great way to remind me of what’s important each morning. To see improvement in the way I feel makes me feel so accomplished. Just like if someone was excited that their “B-” improved to an “A+” in school, I get excited when I see my mood improve. The best part is that Breeze isn’t doing it for me, I’m doing it for myself with just a little push of help.

Thanks this app! I wouldn’t change one thing about your app!

kind of buggy but i really like it

i really love Breeze! it has a really cute design that makes me want to use Breeze even more often. i really like the slider feature to choose your mood. although, if it is after a certain time of day, it changes the entry to the next day, instead of the current day? and there’s no way to edit this. when i go into the edit section, it says it is some day in September 2018. also, i got rid of all the presets in the “what have you been up to” section, because i wanted to only have my own, but the ‘+’ button went away when i deleted a few of them. so there is no way to add more anymore!! i really like Breeze , and the design is so cute!! i could get past the sometimes having the wrong date, but i hate that i’m going to have to uninstall and lose all of my entries, and reinstall in order to get the “what have you been up to” thingys back.

Breeze Journal never available for me

A big part of Breeze for me has been the courses. There’s supposed to be a this app Journal in which to record each lesson exercise. Breeze doesn’t take me to the journal which it says it will, and I can’t locate it. There’s also no way to locate or reach support for Breeze. These two issues are making me give it 2 stars, and those stars are because the mood tracker is good. I have used it for a month and it gives me reliable information about how my mood has been during that time. But those are a dime a dozen. I actually paid for this. I expected more (like support and the journal that is supposed to be included).

I also discovered I’m supposed to be getting a table to look at and fill in for the anxiety section, but when I click the link it doesn’t take me there. Really tired of this not working. Reducing my review to one star and would appreciate being contacted by the person who can help me with this.

Really like it!!

I haven’t been using Breeze for very long, but I already love it! I love that you can customize your activities and that there is a wide range in emotions bigger than going from “sad” to “happy.” I like that you can track your sleep; this feature has been especially helpful for me.
There are, however, a few features I don’t like. I don’t like that you have to get gratitude points to use a passcode, I feel like that should just be a given option. There is a bug that doesn’t allow me to edit past entries, which is frustrating and would be much better if they could be fixed. I’m also unsure of how to delete entries, or if it’s even possible to do.
Overall Breeze is great, and the pros outweigh the cons, but there are some adjustments that can be made.

Not worth the Money

How are you going to charge for information that can be found on the internet for free? Almost everything mentioned in your app comes with the note saying that it is not a diagnosis and it’s not medical advice nor professional advice so why are we getting charged for this? Some of the tests ask about career and work etc when those questions might not apply to everyone causing the result of the test to be incorrect “advice” or result being that the question can not be skipped and it does not have an “does not apply” option. As a person who struggles with anxiety, depression, and ptsd I expected something better and useful for it being a charged app. Way overpriced to be honest for $8 a WEEK!! Stick to your personal journal and find ways to organize it neatly so it can be easier to go back and compare your progress, research online.. everything mentioned in Breeze is provided free on the internet!

By

I would give this 4.8 stars

It’s a great way to track your moods and reflect upon your day and it’s nice to see how much your moods fluctuate throughout the month. It’s also really simple to use if you only use it to track your moods. Not too big on the tests and videos but definitely can be used if someone is struggling with their mental health and emotional stability.
The only thing I would complain is not being able to look back on how much hours you sleep every day. You can track your hours daily BUT you can’t look back at them in your stats. I’d like to see how much hours I sleep everyday since I’m tracking them and how that could effect my moods.

Idk

I enjoy this app a lot ever since I got it I’ve used it a lot it’s a perfect place for me to right down personal things when I feel bad or for writing down good memories I really like how you can add an image as well it’s very helpful I (putting it short) just love this app Breeze is very useful and amazing

Update: I highly recommend having an option that allows the user to get notified each day to write about their mood or something like that, I had a 90 day streak and I lost it because yesterday I forgot to track my mood, I’m extremely upset and it’s making me feel absolutely terrible, please add an update like this:(

By

Decent, needs some improvements

I do quite enjoy Breeze, I have purchased the upgrade to do the personality quizzes and courses. However I notice the track sleep feature disappears more often than not. I have logged my sleep once since using Breeze but the options has not returned since. The opening screen mentions tracking sleep as well, but I still unable to find that feature most of the time. It would also be nice to set multiple notifications to keep reminding me throughout the day to update Breeze . Lastly and this is mostly just personal preference, I would love some colored them options and app face options; again not necessarily would just make me happy for the money I spent.

Needs an iPad version

I like Breeze a lot. The free version offers a lot that most journal tracking apps don’t. It’s easy to enter information and the statistics are clear and informative. I use it on my iPhone and iPad and wish it had an actual iPad version rather than a blown-up version of the iPhone app. With a lot of iPads being used with keyboards, it’s nice to be able to type in an HD iPad version of Breeze . It’s become my go-to journal app, replacing some others that I was using long-term. I especially like the gratitude prompt which encourages me to write about things I’m grateful for that day. That really forces me to pause and think about what I liked about my day, rather than just the things I didn’t like about my day.

just don't.

Downloaded Breeze , signed up for the free trial, canceled the free trial, and deleted Breeze all in the span of 25~ minutes. The quizzes don't make any sense at all and a lot of the questions are repeated over and over, just phrased differently. I was getting the impression that it was more of a translation issue than anything else because a lot of the errors and typos were tense issues, but upon reading other reviews they do seem almost auto-generated. Breeze isn't that great and definitely not worth the subscription price. There are plenty of other mood trackers available on Breeze store for free! It seems like it's basically an accumulation of resources but all of the resources they are providing are free online. Literally type in the title to the articles on google and it's all there for free. I wouldn't be complaining if Breeze were free, but it's not and it is completely for no reason.

Over priced, under developed

The aesthetic is nice and I like the intention behind Breeze, but it is way overpriced and it has a long way to go. Charging 9.99 a month for a “premium” membership is on the high end of reasonable, but for a week this is a rip off and comes off as a scam. You could get a monthly gym membership for the price of one week of Breeze, and honestly that would be much better for your mental health. Im addition to this 9.99 a month gets you very little content. To charge this much reasonably, Breeze would need to have 20x as much content. Yet as of now, all of their education and quizzes are readily accessible for FREE online. Yes Breeze has a nice aesthetic and the mood tracker is helpful, but it is incredibly overpriced and it’s main focus is maximizing profits from people who are struggling with mental health. All in all it very disappointing to see an app taking advantage of people like this.

Great app so far

Wed April 3rd
I really really love Breeze. I struggle with BiPolar disorder and I have been searching high and low for something like this forever. It’s so simple to use. I love the look of Breeze . And the automatic thoughts tracker. I do wish that when you report how you fee you could create your own thing in ( what have you been up to) because some of the things I have been up to are not a choice. Also I would like something to report sleep... like, trouble falling asleep, trouble
Staying asleep... feeling tired...

However, to the developers.... great job! I fee Breeze is going to Help me Track my mood... and like the name Of Breeze , it really is a this app to use..

Friday April 5th
Ok, so I just updated Breeze . I’m not very thrilled about the 7.99 a week price. I can’t afford that. I absolutely love the idea and Breeze . But now I’m not sure I can even use it..

Also the time And date are all wrong in my journal. I need a settings button so I can adjust them. It’s very strange.

Bumped down to 2 stars from 5 because of the price

This is so helpful

This is so helpful I don’t know what to say I have so much problems that I can’t fix on my own but I when to Breeze Store and I searched mood and there it was I it helped a lot so you should really get Breeze if you want I mean it’s up to you if not you can just read this review and say “nah I wanna watch Disney+” because you are so depressed you r just watching the Simpson and not getting Breeze and you probably are saying this is to long I’m not going to read it like I was but if you got all the way down here I’m proud of you good job you deserve a wonderful app like this alright I’m done here bye.

Second Chances

My first review was a negative one, but Breeze developer offered me a free subscription, so I gave it a second chance. For some reason I can’t access my original review.

Breeze has won me over, the section “thoughts”, is very helpful in seeing your perspective on things versus, what things might actually be. It’s my favorite part of Breeze actually. I fully recommend Breeze to anyone who may struggle with anxiety, depression, and such. It is helpful in tracking moods, seeing patterns, and helping change negative thought patterns. It is easy to use, and was well developed.

By

Really cool, but very pricey

I have had really bad anxiety as of late and I saw Breeze, and was like “cool, I think I could try this out” and well I downloaded it and I about flipped out when I found out it was 8 dollars a week. I thought I read it wrong at first, and that it was 8 dollars a month. Which sounds reasonable, but 8 dollars a week is very unreasonable. And I tried to find out how much the lifetime purchase was and every time I went to click it, it would then show a error so I could not find out the lifetime price which would probably be cheaper to get rather than having 32 dollars zapped out of your bank account every month.

Making Me Pay Now

When I first got Breeze during the pre-launch, it gave me all the features for free, but none of them worked. I saw there was an update so I updated, now I have to pay WEEKLY to do anything aside from write in a tiny section what’s on my mind. Because I have an iPhone SE, I can’t even see what I write in Breeze and there is no way for me to click and review what I wrote. It shows the first sentence and that’s it... Breeze isn’t worth it, you have to pay for it all and that’s disappointing because there are plenty of free apps or better deals for paid apps out there, which they offer more help and actually work. This seemed like it was going to be a good app and cute, but I’m just uninstalling that. Why pay weekly for something I could do for free or one time pay for in another app?

Wonderful uplifting spiritual aid

I signed up very early for this app, I found the preview pictures of Breeze amazing!!!! I must admit I was not disappointed when this app arrived it was everything I’d hoped for and more! The user interface is uplifting, fun, fast, easy to learn along with beautiful graphics! I’ve been in a much better state of mind using this app to record my thoughts and feelings. this app is helping me cope with some serious “issues”. this app is an awesome app and I highly recommend using it for mental and spiritual aid!!!

Free version isn’t much

Breeze has a great interface. I got it because my Autistic son wanted a mood tracker like mine. I thought this one would be easy enough for him to navigate. He can put in a daily mood, add a journal entry, but we can only select 5 activities for the day. This is a problem for me. I need to be able to track things like what time he went to bed, if he ate healthy or junk food (which is rare), if he had a rough day at school, so on and so forth. It would be a great resource to me to have everything unlocked. But $1.99 a week is a bit steep for our already tight budget. I’d rather deal with seeing ads and having everything free, than pay the premium price out-of-pocket.

Great app! just one issue

I have been using this diary for almost a year and it has helped me so much with my anxiety and addressing my problems. Love love love Breeze! But, there is a setting that lets you back up your diary which I did, but my phone reset and deleted all my apps, including this app, and I was okay because I realized it was backed up, until I went in and I only had 3 saved, instead of the hundreds I had from the past year. I don’t know how to get my data back and I’m devastated that the backup didn’t work like I thought it would.

By

negative experience turned great!

I preorder this app about a month ago and new Breeze had potential. When it first came out I was super excited, it looks beautiful. minimally functional and simple. But then I was blocked from everything and they wanted me to pay. I contacted the developers because I was upset, but they handled it great and even offered me a lifetime subscription for my troubles, and handled it well. I still love Breeze :) Great work, guys.

By

Confused

I got Breeze a little over a week ago and it is exactly what I was looking for: an easy way to keep track of my emotions and the events accompanying them. I especially liked that I could create multiple “cards” a day. The only issue I have, to the point where I’ve considered finding a new app, is that when I create a new card it often is created for the next day. For example the cards I created for today, February 16, have been logged for tomorrow, February 17. If there is any way to resolve this issue that would greatly encourage me to continue using Breeze .

By

Great, but wouldn’t pay for premium

I enjoy how simple it is to use and the ability to see stats based on my moods, but I don’t think the upgrade has enough features right now.

I wouldn’t mind paying if I felt like I was getting more bang for my buck, but so far it looks like I can only change the theme, and add a passcode if I upgrade. In my opinion those things might as well just be free since I don’t see as much value in them (at least not enough value to pay for)!

I really love Breeze myCounselor told me to look up apps to write on and this is what I found and I instantly fell in love before one week past!! ❤️ I really love the fact that you can read things like black-and-white thinking it really makes you think about your actions before you do it.
