I loved that mailfence finally came out with an iOS app. It has been my main secure email client for banking and business. However, now all of my emails are marked as spam. All of them. Makes the client completely worthless. I have to pay for a subscription in order to whitelist any domains. What a joke. Use Proton or Tuta.

It keeps logging me out from all my devices. I have two iPhones and an iPad, and about once per week it logs me out and I have to log back in in all my devices. It has become the biggest pain in the rear app in my phone, and I have hundreds of apps. I am considering deleting my account with Mailfence and deleting EncryptedEmail just because of this problem.

I was happy to see a Mailfence app, but this was released by developer knowing EncryptedEmail will not notify you either visually or audio of new email, so no notifications AT ALL Cannot send emails with attachments either Pretty useless app

I like EncryptedEmail much better than the other option that’s available for iOS. It’s very minimal right now and that makes it easy to use but I wanted to point out a couple of other things.

I have notifications on for EncryptedEmail and whenever I get a new email, it’ll notify me like it should. What is strange is that it alerts me even when I receive spam mail that goes into my spam folder automatically. Very strange and there is no way to try to fix this since adjusting the settings for EncryptedEmail is limited too. Another thing is that there’s no way to report bugs directly through EncryptedEmail . You either have to email mailfence customer service or log in to report it on desktop. And there is no easy link through EncryptedEmail to do this. I like EncryptedEmail but find that it’s really behind other email apps. Making it easier for users to report issues will be helpful in the long run.

I’ve been using this email service for a while now, and overall, I’m quite pleased with it. The interface is user-friendly, and the features are robust, making it easy to manage my emails efficiently. However, there’s one significant improvement that would make this service even better: the ability to integrate emails from other providers since I haven’t been able to add Mailfence email to other email apps. (Update: It’s kinda insane that we have to pay to add our email to email apps. It’s such a basic feature and shouldn’t be a “premium feature”

Nice start; however, I’d love to have the ability to “block” certain email addresses if I’m receiving too much spam mail from them. Sometimes unsubscribing doesn’t help or they don’t give the option. For those I want to be able to block the email addresses if I’m of the sender; not just add them to spam.

What stops me from being a paid subscriber is the inability to print. I love your built in calendar and contacts options. EncryptedEmail is very efficient. Your staff writes me back right away! No complaints. Hopefully soon, you allow for printing on the mobile app.

I’ve been using Mailfence for 8+ years. It’s the only email provider I trust to keep all of my information encrypted and secure. Now they have an iOS app? I’m stoked! Will there always be bugs in an app? Absolutely! Yet I am so happy with it that it’s worth paying for, but they’ve kept it free 🫶🏼

I absolutely love Mailfence! The interface is clean, simple, and easy to navigate. It’s a breath of fresh air compared to other email apps. It’s secure, reliable, and perfect for anyone looking for an intuitive and private email experience. Highly recommend it!

Very happy with it so far

By choosing to use something like Mailfence, you’re naturally making trade offs that others may not find as savory. For example, it’s not possible to add an event to your calendar on mobile. I’m happy to accept this compromise in exchange for receiving privacy and security.

This said, the one thing I really wish the iOS app supported that the Android app supports is landscape mode. I’m on a smaller form factor device, and it’s not possible for people to scan QR or bar codes out of emails because I can’t make them large enough in the portrait orientation.
