Spamdrain - clean email Reviews

I’ve been using several years. this app has stopped Viruses and Spam from corrupting my iPad and iPhone. It sorts through all my mail and declares it Blocked or Allowed. Ultimately I make the final decision by opening this app and declaring mail that is Blocked as Spam or release as Regular Mail. I must also make the final decision on mail that this app has Allowed. By tapping the Trash Icon and then select Delete. I could also tap the Mail Icon and declare it as Unwanted or Spam. You also receive an email from this app daily on your Mail status. If a piece of mail is questionable, you must open this app, Blocked and declare its status. You are in total control! I highly recommend this app!

I have had this app for years and have been happy with it. Recently I renewed my subscription and as soon as I did I noticed that it was no longer filtering my spam. I tried troubleshooting it on my own without success. At that point I decided to get in touch with tech support. The first thing I noticed was that it was incredibly hard to find the link that would get me in direct communication with a technician. I had to go through FAQs before I stumbled across an email address for tech support. I described the problem and a tech wrote back that there was no email listed to be filtered. That didn’t make sense to me but I tried following the steps that he suggested and when that didn’t work I took a screenshot of the failure screen and sent it to the tech by email. That was 2 weeks ago and I never heard back. Poor tech support and poorer customer service. I would like a refund of my money.

I have been using this app for 8 years. While every once in a while a piece of Spam makes it through or a a valid email gets held up, most of the time I go through my life without spam in my inbox. Then yesterday morning I noticed a lot of Spam. I panicked, thinking the spammers had now figured out a way to get through. Then I realized that SD had stopped filtering. I contacted them and while they did send me an FAQ list of possible solutions, they also contacted me by email. They had reset my filter and all was back to normal. Glitches happen but I was delighted by their prompt service.

I’ve had this app for three years or so, and very occasionally it would miss a spam or two. However, lately on one of the three email addresses I have set to filter, the program does not work entirely accurately. Recently one day on one account there were about 50 spams that got through but did not appear on the Blocked or Allowed reports. Most annoying. I reported this to this app and got an auto response, as always, but have not gotten an answer that can fix the issue. That has happened several times in the last six months, but with no fix. I regret that because I like the interface of the program very much. That is the best feature for me, but I may have to drop this app if it continues to miss spam. What a shame.

I was being bombarded by unwanted emails. Over 50 a day and growing. After reading the reviews, I installed this app. Now all of the unwanted emails have been blocked and my inbox is back to normal. I am provided with a report which shows all emails that were blocked, which allows me to override any blocked emails and accept them into my inbox. The longer I use this app, the more it remembers my preferences and the better it works. What more could I ask for. I strongly recommend Spamdrain.

I have been a customer for two years and one day Spamdrain stop working. After hours trying to resolve issue to discover Customer Support does not exist and little data about trouble shooting. Why have a business and not provide customer support. They will only respond with, all trouble tickets are closed. Of course there is not a trouble ticket due to login to customer support does not work. I have the latest iPhone so it’s not my smart phone. Hello clueless owner. Provide two options at least for customer support. this app just lost a paying customer due to not providing basic assistance. Run from Spamdrain. Don’t give them your money!!!!

Wow, what a spectacular improvement! I started with the trial, and it only took a few days to see I don't need to wait before buying Spamdrain . From the beginning, my clever spamster has been accurately weeding out the spam from my three email accounts. I don't understand why my ISP email provider isn't performing this same service for me. Doesn't matter, this app is doing the job well!

I’ve tried several apps that state they will block spam from emails. So far , all have failed until I found this app. It has blocked 90% of spam so far. If one sneaks through, you just click on it and state it’s spam and it never finds your inbox again. So far it’s all positive. If anything changes, I will update.

I have the same issues as William. The auto response is NOT helpful at all. The response to his complaint seems like another auto response, which again is NOT helpful. I have emailed three times asking for assistance, same auto response. I paid for two emails and my money was accepted quickly but auto response directions to add email was not clear and just didn't help. I'm sorry but I've had it up to here. All of this nonsense started in March 2021 and it's now June 2021. No resolution, no useful contact. I want my money back.

I’ve used this app for years, and am amazed at how well it works. It is always interesting to see the junk it has captured- and it is easy to release the odd message that might have been seen as spam into regular mail. It is a great app that I have recommended to many people.

I like Spamdrain BUT even though you make a setting to block a setting like SPAM it doesn’t always maintain the setting and you have continually have reset it that is annoying. Other than than that weakness I love Spamdrain . It saves a lot of deleting and site unsubscribes.

There are times where there were inconsistencies in the blocking process. I was unable to find a pattern that I could help you with.

I got on a spam overload list and eventually was getting 50-75 spam messages per day. It was impossible to find the real emails in the spam. this app fixed that as soon as I opened it up, and two weeks later it’s still keeping my inbox clear.

I’ve had this app for a few years. I depend on it to stop all spam. I initially purchased Spamdrain due to lots of spam activity, which even included vulgar messages that were offensive in nature. I depend on this app and would not want to be without it. You will not be disappointed!

It’s hard to believe that I have finally found an app that actually helps tremendously with spam. My email inbox is cleaner than it has been in years. Very much worth the small amount of cost. You need to try it. Unfortunately everyone has a spam problem now.

Spamdrain used to work quite well. Nothing on my end has changed, yet it regularly allows crap through, and blocks stuff that’s been whitelisted. For most of this year, it fails to connect to the same servers I’ve always had it aligned with, unless I go into Spamdrain and pause and then restart it. I’ve contacted the developers several times asking about that, and have not received a single response. Won’t make this mistake again.

I’ve had Spamdrain on my iPad Pro for almost three years. It took about 6 months for Spamdrain to “learn” what I wanted to block. After that accuracy has been over 90%. Correcting errors is fast and easy. No complaints here

This used to be the most wonderful filtering app. I have not been able to get it to filter at all since my renewal in February 2020. I have contacted both this app and Yahoo and followed the instructions to no avail. I don’t know what has changed.
Even the request to cancel my account cannot be followed as the instructions they send do not generate the same on my account.
I am sad to leave but Spamdrain no longer works for me.

I’ve subscribed to Spamdrain for 5 years & it’s worked pretty well plus I’ve referred it to many friends & co workers. I had every intention of continuing to pay for it but for whatever reason they DOUBLED their price & refused to work with me as a long term customer. Sorry but I’ll find another spam blocking app who wants to keep their customers

The developer responds with “thank you for your review of our FREE app”. Free? I’ve been paying for the last 5 years!! I guess they don’t read the reviews

After fussing with Spamdrain for 2 weeks, I discovered SpamSieve, installed it on my laptop and it works for all my Apple devices. Thanks to SpamSieve I will never see the cbd (1st 3 letters of offensive email spammers) and other spam again.
This took 10 minutes to succeed as opposed to 14 days with this app with no luck. Yes, I did contact their support, they appeared to try, but responses made me think they were robots. They had no clue or desire how to make their app work.
So glad I found an app that works! This one does NOT.

I love Spamdrain. It's clever, beautiful and well thought out. Simple to use and learns very fast.

Saved about 5 emails from extinction. You may as well buy it now and get used to it. You'll need it soon enough. I've got protected emails and it's priceless to us.

This has been excellent to filter out unwanted newsletters, spam, and other unwanted mail. I was so impressed during the trial period, I bought a subscription. The problem now is, Spam Drain also blocks very important mail, like bank statements, credit card statements and business emails.

And before you ask, "Did you check your blocked emails to teach it what's important?"
Yes...I spent the first month or so, checking my blocked emails almost every day. I made sure to release important emails that were blocked.

I expected that this program would now know which emails were important and which should be blocked, so I checked blocked emails less often...
Big mistake! I had several important emails blocked.

I have a business where customers email me questions. There is no way to add them to the safe list as I don't know who they are until they email me. I didn't check my blocked messages for a week and had a customer's email blocked. She waited five days for answer from me, because I didn't receive her email. Note: This email in no way looked like Spam or a marketing email.

I will say that the program gets it right a lot. But, I feel as though I need to check my blocked email every single day to make sure that all important, time sensitive emails get through. This sort of defeats the purpose of having this subscription.

I will spend the next month diligently checking my blocked email every day again to hopefully get the software to learn what emails should be allowed through. Hoping for the best, but I'm not sure Spam Drain will work out for me.

I don’t understand all of the negative reviews. I’ve been using this product for a number of years and I’ve never had any issues with it. All I can say is it works very well for me and my wife and I recommend it.

this app used to be effective at blocking all spam from getting into my mailboxes. Recently spam-marked emails have been getting into my personal and gmail inboxes. I check the this app app and emails I have previously marked as spam are still getting into my inboxes. Very disappointed with Spamdrain now, but will keep my subscription going because it does block 90% of spam emails.

Well I wrote the review below earlier this year and never got a response from this app team. It looks like they don’t care what their customers are saying!
Recently I’ve tried to reset my password but never get the email that suppose to send me a link to reset my PW!!

I will not renew my subscription.

I’ve used Spamdrain for about 3 years now and have it 5 star in year 1 then 4 in year 2 and now border line 3!! Spamdrain is blocking emails that I have repeatedly identified as wanted email and will not release some of the the blocked emails even after I mark them as regular or wanted email! If I don’t see an improvement soon I will cancel my account! Spam Drain team please pay attention to the QUALITY of your App releases.

Have to force feed the spam into my regular inbox in order for this to block it and it’s very expensive after the short trial I’m not buying it since it’s so expensive ridiculous amount. I would do negative if it was possible I don’t recommend Spamdrain. It doesn’t block spam you have to move the spam from the spam folder to the inbox for it to show up then mark it as spam and it gets reported

For some reason Spamdrain went off and I knew something was wrong right away. I was inundated with dozens of spam email. I deleted and reinstalled Spamdrain . It began working immediately and only misses one occasionally.

I finally found one that works, easy to use, and easy to make changes.. I can finally enjoy opening my email again..highly recommend

I have had Spamdrain on my iPad for over 4 years and it works great! If it does miss a “spam” email it’s a easy fix to just go to Spamdrain , mark SPAM and you won’t see it again. I get emails I WANT......until I DON’T.

I have been a customer for years and now the price is $28?? Not even a discount for re-enrolling? Don't get me wrong Spamdrain works great, but the price is so high. I am looking for another app but will gladly come back if the price gets below $20.
