Hot garbage from a developer that doesn’t test their software properly

You owe me 10 minutes of session time, Valant. You already have client email addresses for appointment reminders - it shouldn’t be my provider’s responsibility to inform me that you no longer support Safari and I need to download a different browser or switch to a mobile app if I (maybe) don’t want to (possibly) avoid getting logged out halfway through my session (hopefully). Have you never heard of UI testing? Or a communication plan? All the other reviews suggest you haven’t.

Your lack of adequate notification about your nearly constant feature changes is an abdication of responsibility, and today is one more incident in an infinite line of terrible user experiences. Save me the canned “we’re sorry” response. I’d much rather you spend the effort on restoring Safari support so I don’t have to use MYIO.

Everytime I open MYIO it makes me reset my password, then after I’m successfully logged in online, MYIO will tell me I don’t have an account with them… used it and had it work properly once, the very first time, and that’s all. Do yourself a favor and just bookmark the website

Some of the worst software I’ve had the displeasure to use on a smartphone in the past few years. App just seems to be at a white screen and I can see another reviewer has had the same problem. How this isn’t fixed yet is beyond me for an app that serves such an important purpose.

Needs better mic options/compatibility

I’ve used another telehealth app in the past that allowed me to use my earpiece that includes a microphone as the speaker and the microphone. MYIO does not thus limiting my privacy during sessions. I have to use my earpiece as either the speaker or the microphone. Please fix this.

I can never sign into this, which makes me late for my appointments even though I start the sign-in process 15 minutes prior to my appointment! Fortunately my provider is always willing to work with me on making our appointment happen anyway.

MYIO is terrible. I can never hear my doctor or I am unable to un-mute myself and when I can they cannot hear me, I cannot hear them. This is a waste of space on my phones storage capacity. We end up having to just use normal phone calls.

Yeah so it keeps charging my debit card even though I took it off of MYIO and it won’t let me save my insurance so I can’t have my insurance pay for my therapy thanks this helps a lot (not really)

Opened MYIO to check for the link to my sons upcoming telehealth appointment in two days and it said I needed to upgrade to the newer version. Great, did the upgrade and now every time I click to open MYIO , I get a blank white screen. So I cannot access it at all so it’s basically useless. I’ve uninstalled it and reinstalled it, turned my phone off and back on again and nothing. This should be fun.

MYIO needs a lot more testing. Echoing what others have said, it gets in the way of healthcare more than it enables it. I don’t know if the amount of regulation in the industry can be blamed for this, or something else, but the results are really disappointing. Most recent frustration: I open MYIO to join my telehealth appt, but am forced to download a software update for the telehealth SDK that makes me over half an hour late. My provider was willing to meet with me after that and to not bill me for a missed session—others might not be so lucky. As insult to injury, the camera was broken after the update. As a developer myself, I can imagine that it hurts to read all these frustrated reviews. But BRO, I don’t recall signing up to be your beta tester.

The last update absolutely made MYIO unusable. It white screens and doesn’t load at all, when trying to use it in the browser it tells my my password is wrong so I had to use another device. I ended up getting charged in full for not being able to make it to my appointment after troubleshooting for so long. Super frustrating, $125 dollars of my money because of this and the office couldn’t do anything about it but tell me to figure it out since this is the only way I can do my appointments.

Bug makes it unusable

The one thing I need to be able to do with MYIO is schedule appointments. And yet every time I try to use the “request appointment” feature and fill out the drop-down menus and select everything, I consistently get a “Facility Uids must not be empty” error. I have logged in and out. I have tried every different appointment type. I filled out everything, not just what is required. I deleted MYIO and reinstalled. It did nothing.

Unable to log in

Setting up MYIO for the first time, facial ID was selected. I didn’t have a password to log in. Worked successfully once but now every time I try to log in the facial ID recognition does not come up. I ask to reset the password and when I click the link provided in the email it tells me that the link has expired or been used. I can’t log in at all to check my appointments or pay my bills.

I was trying to access my app to see what time my appointment was. Thankfully I checked my email to find out but all MYIO shows is a blank white screen. How am I supposed to access my appointment and if I can’t of course it’s going to be my fault and will have to pay. Thanks to MYIO people are having to pay $100+ late fees because MYIO stopped working! FIX MYIO!

Difficult to access, often doesn’t work, will exit randomly, its very easy to become essentially locked out of your account, links directing to MYIO have never once worked for me. I wish I could just opt out and fill the paperwork out manually/via email, anything other than this. I’m not sure if it makes the lives of the providers any easier, but it certainly only complicates things for the patient.

I hate MYIO. It’s glitchy & keeps throwing me out of my account, won’t let me sign in or handle it from my end, I have to call the doctor’s office to reset the password. It’s apparently not user-friendly for them either, because they can’t do anything from their end until I come into the office. Doesn’t matter that I’ve saved my password or enabled Face ID, it WILL keep locking me out of my account. Not even sure why the hyperlink offering to reset my password even exists. Or the facial recognition. Or pretty much any other button/link. Hate, hate, HATE MYIO!

MYIO, more than any family issue or stressor that I have sought therapy to help remedy, has caused enough stress to make a bad situation worse. Currently when I open MYIO it shows a white screen of death, making cars impossible to access. My provider has no answers, other than “try another device,” and “oh dear, it’s doing that again.” Hello, programmers, this is not some gaming app. People’s lives are literally dependent on this appt working. Take your job seriously and fix it please. Providers, if you are looking for an app, steer clear of this one!

MYIO has been difficult for me to access from the get go. After setting up my account, I have had to reset my password more times than I can count, even JUST after resetting! Now, it won’t even open on my phone, just a blank white screen. MYIO is NOT user friendly and makes it especially hard for people with mental health issues to connect to their provider.

Valant really needs to improve their systems in general, but MYIO takes the cake. It’s iPhone only, which means it runs in a tiny vertical window on an iPad, and doesn’t even support landscape mode. This means you appear sideways when using an iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard. Swapping to my iPhone wasn’t an improvement, since it’s portrait only. I wouldn’t even bother with these awful apps, except Valant can’t be bothered to support web standards and forces users to have Google Chrome, which is a hard no.

Causes More Reasons to See My Psychiatrist! 😧

MYIO is terrible! First, it took me a half hour to just set it up with all of the information it asked and all of the little word boxes and expect me to fill out one by one etc. to where my psychiatrist just ended up calling me anyway. Then for my second appointment, I tried signing on, and it didn’t recognize my birthday, so my psychiatrist office sent me a link to reset password and that link didn’t allow me to reset etc. Ugh, why do all these doctors offices insist on using these pain in the apps?!

Been using this for an hour and I can already see why it’s so poorly reviewed. Forms are moved over without being mobile optimized, and most concerned it needlessly restricts your ability to answer some questions, by limiting you to numerals.

Recently had to use MYIO to fill out a form for an appointment and it felt like it was designed by someone who has never designed an app in their life with how bad the interface was for roughly 150 inputs. Couldn’t even skip the ones that didn’t apply to me. Felt like schoolwork getting through this form.

I have been trying to set up an account for hours but it’s so incredibly buggy that I want to give up. Just loads and loads and loads then session times out and I get kicked out. It’s ridiculous and infuriating.

Not user friendly, not adhd friendly

This is fraught with issues. I’ve only used it for 2 interactions so far and found it to be a terrible portal. First it doesn’t let your phone save the username/password, and has no prompt to remember those things. The intake form format was too small and kept resetting to that size and wouldn’t go into landscape mode. The curser moved along to the different boxes to be filled when I pressed next button but seemed to skip the optional ones, but not consistently. When I got to a questionnaire with a 0-10 scale, the drop down menu wouldn’t let me go past 7. The menu would disappear. Perhaps if I had a tablet, I could have filled it out? Not sure. Perhaps if MYIO could be opened on desktop pc? Then I could at least do the intake form? Maybe… then I messaged my provider and the messaging system had a bunch of issues too! Just to send a little note! This is an unfinished app imo or is it just bad? Idk. For mental health patients, your app needs to do a lot better. :/

Horrible and terrible non existent customer service

I cannot log in to my account using MYIO. I’ve never been able to. I had been logging in just fine on the computer in my safari browser for a couple months before they apparently stopped supporting the browser and now when I try to log in via chrome it doesn’t work—same credentials as safari but for some reason it won’t work. I contacted support for help and they told me they can’t help I have to call my provider. Useless. At this point I would consider leaving my provider due to the issues I face with this platform. And to make matters worse, they have absolutely no problem charging me a minute after each session but I can’t even get any technical support? Yeah do yourself a favor and steer clear.

Title says it all. This platform is horrible. It doesn’t recognize your email associated with your account, it doesn’t says it offers FaceID, but every time you try, it says it has expired.

The only working function is billing (not surprised). If you are a provider considering this platform, do your clients and yourself a favor and find an alternative.

Not good in any way

Website is basically useless, tried on multiple laptops with multiple browsers, and continues to say it’s unsupported. Not really sure the unicorn of operating system, browser, etc would get this to actually work.

Never been able to get a password to work for more than 24 hours, trying to reset doesn’t work because it keeps going in a loop….sends email with link to go to a page to reset password, which only sends an email with a link that goes back to the same page. Did they never actually test their own software?

So, haven’t ever used MYIO because it’s so fraught with issues I’ve not been able to log into it. Will sadly probably have to change providers because of this awful “tool”.

First time caller

I cautioned my health provider when they told me/us to download MYIO. I asked, “have your read the reviews?”. They said yes and that the problems had been fixed. Just today used MYIO for the first time, and like I suspected, several problems. If you’re on a mobile device, you have to use the speaker phone - there’s no option. If you switch to your calendar (for making appointments) during the call, it automatically turns your mic off and the camera off - so when you switch back from your calendar, you have to unmute and turn the camera on. A great example of the designers not being users.

Can’t use on iPad

I use my iPad for all video calls but I am now unable to use my iPad for this app. There is no dedicated iPad app, and they do not allow the use of iPad browsers (including the Chrome iPad browser) to make telehealth calls. If they won’t allow the iPad browsers, then they need an iPad app as an alternative. Using the iPhone version of MYIO on iPad doesn’t work since it’s a tiny version of MYIO that can’t be put in landscape mode without the camera being at a 90 degree angle. I was able to use the browser on my iPad for telehealth calls on this app just fine until the recent changes they implemented. Very frustrated!

I have been trying to upload my son’s information for his first appointment. The website and app will not let me access anything! I keep getting the same questions, none of which are address, phone number or security questions! When I try to log in it keeps telling me to put in a valid phone number even when I say email for preferred contact and asks me the same questions over and over then finally says “all done”. I log in again and go through this cycle all over again.

Has taken a reset by
Provider to set up on MYIO from the website. After that four hours later, trying to set up an account I received the email that my account is set up. However, I cannot log into the account now. Also, I don’t understand why when apps are developed, they can’t have a high contrast mode for those of us with low vision. I can barely make out the screen and had to have a lot of help to set up my account that I can’t access.

I’ve changed my password multiple times. I can log in on any computer with the same password but MYIO always says I have the wrong login info. I’ve also deleted and redownloaded MYIO several times to try to fix this and it’s not working.

Not convenient and can’t message my providers from my phone, let alone actually have the visit through MYIO . I’m going to ask my provider if they can switch systems - this is ridiculous.

Never have I come across an app that was more jarring, confusing, uncomfortable or just plain bad to use. I reset my password to try to log in and I guess I have to wait for the database to update, it pretty much forced me to use the google chrome app (which I purposely avoid) to update my password. Whoever made MYIO, hire me so I can fix it for you.

I use an IOS device. I needed to reset the password. I clicked the link to reset my password and it said it would send me an email to reset. It did and I clicked the link. It sent me to the this app website, not app, said my browser was not supported, and when I clicked the use this unsupported browser option, it took me back to the original reset my password page! Which I used and the loop went around again. This is the worst app imaginable.

MYIO doesn’t send any of the messages I try to send to my provider, which is very frustrating as communication between a patient and their doctor is often urgent. MYIO and the browser website both always eat my messages without send them and without saving them as a draft. This is not only frustrating, but it’s also dangerous, as it leaves patients with no way to reach their doctors. 0 stars.

Can’t use

I’ve tried to use MYIO and it doesn’t allow me to message the doctor. I continue to receive messages telling me I need to call the office, meanwhile the staff encourage the use of MYIO after each visit. (I shared the screen with the error with them.)
If a doctor is paying for an app like this, reliable and basic functionality is the least they should be able to expect. It’s not as tho it offers extensive features.

its just awful. i dont understand why medical offices use MYIO. to put it simple, its just useless. it has way too many glitches and zero usability. i sincerely doubt they do any testing and validation before releasing it as it is. its like a child created it. one star is far too much to rate MYIO as is. it only works with ONE browser. i imagine you can guess which one lol) and MYIO is only compatible with a very limited amount of devices.. ZERO USABILITY. Consistent Issues Preventing HealthCare

Similar issues as everyone else. After lots of trouble shooting it seems to work only on a specific version of IOS software. I’ve tried to update prior to appointment and it will not so an update and then your login and it will ask you to update. The update results in a white screen. When reaching out to the company they advices to contact your doctor(um that’s what I’m trying to do) troubleshoot MYIO , but my doctor is not an IT specialist.

MYIO is horrible, constantly timing out while waiting for docs who show up late. No way to check previous appts or see notes from the doctors.
They push an update mid day when people have appointments and force an update before app is usable.
If this wasn’t the only possible app to use for my kids appt I’d never touch MYIO again.

Software dev here calling out the problems

I can use this with my phone, but it's clear they haven't put time and thought into how their users actually use their app and devices.

First, I'm gonna stop the PR person right there that is calling out "software compatibility and security" concerns in a different review. Yes you have to comply with HIPPA. But you as the developer choose what goes into your app and if you do your homework, you can find software to integrate with that supports other browsers. You don't have to support every one of them - Chrome, Safari, and Edge (Firefox if you want bonus points). Those are the important ones.

Also how does MYIO have a "5 star ranking with 1 review" when all I see are 1 star reviews?

Also your user prompt to "Do you want to clear your data?" on the account feature is unnecessarily alarming. It's red, which freaks the user out and has bad copy. A yellow alert that asks "Changes will not be saved if you continue. Do you want to discard your changes?" is much clearer and tells the user what is actually happening.

Make a design that scales with the device. This is basic web and app design. But the dev teams or the bean counters either didn't want to or thought it would cost too much. There's a basic concept in CSS called flexbox. They'd do well to use it.

Limiting portal access and making it harder for people to use your app actually excludes people from getting care. Studies show that poorer people are more likely to only have a mobile device. Make the experience better.

I'm a techie who is used to dealing with bad software so I've worked around a lot of problems. But they're still there and I'm not an average user.

What the title says. Kicked me off a form I was working on with no warning and now the form isn't available or listed as completed. I wasted a lot of time for nothing because the system crashed and now the form I need to fill out isn't there (which I was in the middle of filling, btw). The signup system was unintuitive and buggy.

Riddled with problems

I can’t get beyond the birthday verification screen to even set up an account. (Yes, I HAVE checked with my doctor who assured me that my birthday is correct in their records). My doc tells me I’m not the first to report same. Fix immediately please. I can’t miss another appointment. I NEED my medication.

Maybe you need to fire your marketing folks and hire more coders and some app checkers. Medical apps need to WORK before you sell them.

Impossible to use

I am actually relieved to see the other one star reviews for MYIO. I thought it was just me.

I am (attempting) to use MYIO to fill out mental health intake forms for my minor child.

My login credentials get me into MYIO just fine. But the intake forms are impossible to read and fill out on MYIO . So, to the website! But my login credentials don’t work there. Fine, whatever. I try to reset the password. But the email address does not match the account. Even though it is the same email address I have to thumb type in every single time I log into MYIO .

I haven’t even gotten to the part where I am mad about the messaging and video platform yet.

I have an iPhone and MYIO does not work on the phone. It did not work before their update and it still doesn’t after it. The ‘Next’ button does not become ‘active’/ clickable after entering login and password no matter how I try to go about it (open MYIO directly, use on of the links from their emails, etc).

unhelpful and app doesn’t work

i spoke with lilith regarding MYIO not working and they have been decidedly unhelpful. you used to be able to have sessions through the website but now it defaults to MYIO and there is no way around it and MYIO does not work. no matter what i did the person on the other side of the telehealth appointment could not hear me even though they didn’t have anything on mute and my microphone was connected to MYIO
this is extremely inefficient and frustrating especially when you reach out to customer support and they don’t listen to the concern or try to provide suggestions or support in any way

Most recent update — app is nearly unusable

Can’t schedule (though I can do all this on a computer, so it’s not an issue with my account/ lack of appts) or message my NP unless I’m near a computer.

Read the reveiws from your iPhone. I'm writing this on a Macbook. One stars all over, with dev's replying each time, "sorry you're having problems." Many have said they're leaving providers because it's such an awful experience - first, at set up, then again at each launch. Really - it's just awful.

MYIO is awful and that is an understatement. I have three Apple devices, all on the latest software and it still can’t sync audio and video during a call with my Doctor. Multiple attempts later, I can see my Dr., but still there was no audio. I had to log in from my iPhone and my Dr. called me to get the audio to work. And no option to contact support/get help. OH, but my co-pay was deducted lightning fast.

The concept is great, the functionality is very lacking. Everything I want or need to do in order to communicate with my doctor is thwarted. There’s no copy/paste or ability for appointments to auto populate into my google or apple calendars. No way to send a message.

MYIO is extremely buggy. It won’t let you use your phone in landscape mode for telehealth calls. I am constantly having issues with my call quality. I also cannot use this on my iPad. It’s incredibly frustrating. Not to mention you can’t even use their website on iPads or mobile devices. I dread using MYIO and having to have any interaction on it.

I see what MYIO is attempting to provide but there are both fundamental functionalities missing and overall bugs and instabilities.

Please begin by offering login with biometrics - face and Touch ID are far more secure (and convenient.)

The name of MYIO and the ambiguous icon make MYIO hard to identify even when using it a few times a month.

Add a secure document vault or ability to s end attached documents.

…you squashed the bugs with this last update? I was just forced to take the update and now MYIO doesn’t work for me at all. I just get a blank white screen and nothing ever loads. I’ve checked for additional updates, restarted MYIO multiple times, restarted my phone, and deleted and then redownloaded MYIO . Super frustrating.

Needs push notifications!

There are no push notifications available for MYIO so patients have to rely on watching their email to know if they have a message from the practice. This is very difficult for most people especially when people already get so much junk email advertisements. Please consider adding! Otherwise has been working well

Not sure what’s up with the bad reviews because I downloaded MYIO and made my account and had my dash board within minutes and no issues. It’s very streamlined and easy to use, no bugs or crashes experienced. Solid app, deserves more recognition.

I had a very easy time downloading and creating my profile. Easy peasy.. not sure why all the bad reviews but next month I will have my first appointment and if it goes badly I will edit my review but if it goes smoothly I will leave 5 star! Everyone who has a problem rates… always… but people who have no problem usually don’t rate keep that in mind….. good app useful easy to set up and sign in.

stars was because number one the therapists here are super Duper sweet and they ask you how your day has been going I mean my therapist even plays games with me. I’m not even lying therapy app.
