Silly to make people buy a subscription service for an already expensive product

First let me start by saying I have literally tried everything. One, didn’t realize you literally have to PAY to use light bulbs lol what a joke secondly, even when you do pay, SmartLEDLightRemoteControl DOESNT WORK. can’t find and connect my lights, absolutely no support I’m ready to return the lights and move on with my life which is unfortunate because I was very excited for these. Will never purchase again.

I thought this might be a good app to use as a controller because it was mentioned on the Hue box. But it doesn’t work. It recognizes my Hue bridge but doesn’t recognize any of my lights. They get you to pay up front for it before you can try to use it. I hesitate to call it a scam because I don’t think the Phillips company would partner with someone shady, but SmartLEDLightRemoteControl is junk. Don’t get it.

The lights I purchased claimed they could be controlled by blue tooth no bridge required. I was referred to SmartLEDLightRemoteControl which I had to pay for. My light will not connect and SmartLEDLightRemoteControl will not connect to let me cancel my paid subscription. I’m thirty dollars deep into one light bulb that does nothing but turn on with a switch and have a renewing subscription that will not cancel.

I have this set up out side in my goat pen. It works great. Looking forward to seeing how long the bulbs last and how well it works in the colder winter months.

Yall mofos needa do better Fr on SmartLEDLightRemoteControl I don’t even see my led lights name and when I click on it I have to pay? For what nobody finna pay for something that’s just trash and ain’t gone work everybody is buying led lights at least yall can do is not charge for having a remote for led lights or the bulbs i od knock yall head loose into some sense

It would be nice to not have all these commercials trying to make you go to there site and gamble. Your a big enough company to not have this happening to the users like me. So I will be returning your bulb. When you change is when I’ll buy it back

I see absolutely no reason to pay money to an app. Ur literally not doing anything. I bought the bulbs. I pay the electric bill.

No mention of monthly fee for web-enabled bulb until I paid for the bulb and downloaded the required app when I got home. SmartLEDLightRemoteControl tells you there’s a fee. I stopped and I’m taking this back to store for refund!

Garbage all and terrible on Phillips. No instructions out of the box with their lights. Is it Wiz? Is it Hue or one of the other 30 selections. App is terrible, can’t connect and the you tube video is pointless

So so service that still provides pop ups after paying 20 dollars

I’ve spent over $1,000 on my setup. Rarely works. Seems to be completely random when devices decide to connect. Absolutely garbage.

Didn’t expect subscription for so expensive bulbs

Almost impossible to figure out and use with so many ads getting in the way!

I have to re-pair my lamp so many times because it doesn’t keep the lamp connected in SmartLEDLightRemoteControl . Super glitchy and very frustrating.

I would’ve like to use SmartLEDLightRemoteControl if I didn’t have to pay to use it every month.

SmartLEDLightRemoteControl comes across as predatory. The lights are expensive as it and they only let you use SmartLEDLightRemoteControl if you pay for it (weekly rates are 4.99 which seems crazy considering all I can do with this is turn my lights on and I already have a home device to do just that). After I’d paid, I tried to use SmartLEDLightRemoteControl to pair my device but it doesn’t seem to be able to find them. They have a video which isn’t helpful at all because SmartLEDLightRemoteControl doesn’t seem to work the same way anymore (in the video, it asks me to add a device and it shows a list of devices. In reality, it just throw an error notifying me that no device seems were detected). I’m confused and lost and really wishing I’d saved the money and just purchased a regular “dumb” bulb.

App is garbage I won’t be buying any more related products and returning the ones I have. A bunch of bloatware which takes you on a wild goose chase and asks you to join all of the crapware ad supporting products! Companies should be ashamed of this type of marketing. I just wanted to connect a smart bulb and thought I try this one cause Feit wasn’t working in a remote part of my home, never again Philips, never again. I’ll walk the 10 miles back to the store just to return this garbage.

Would love to love this product more. I’ve had it set up for over a week now, using it everyday, and 80% of the time it isn’t working right away… I’ll spend 5-10 minutes toggling lights and app to work. Once it’s on it’s great; but it is a VERY high-maintenance, expensive relationship… super finicky.

Spending 25 minutes just to download, install and navigate SmartLEDLightRemoteControl , let alone the sheer hassle, is NOT WORTH IT. I’m a tech-savvy guy, but SmartLEDLightRemoteControl makes no sense. I’ve never seen so many ad pop-ups and misleading click-bait for what should be simple. Plus, you can’t navigate around it wanting you to pay. Absolutely not! The expensive bulb is going right back to the store, and SmartLEDLightRemoteControl is going to die its tech death with delete.

The best home convenience having these lights in my household. Use it on occasional party or everyday use. I don’t have to leave my bed to turn it off or on. Colorful hue of lights adorn any occasion. I would recommend these in every home.

I work supporting computers, networks and international cloud systems. I started doing computer support professionally in the mid 90’s. Even with all that experience, I could not get a single light paired with spending extra money on really expensive subscriptions after 30 minutes of trying. This application feels infected with adware viruses.
I’ll be returning the worthless bulb and deleting this horrible app.

I bought these bulbs almost a year ago and could not use them to connect to my college’s internet. I was excited to try them out at home, but SmartLEDLightRemoteControl will not work unless you get a subscription to SmartLEDLightRemoteControl . You would think this would be somewhere on the box they are sold in. Terrible product. DO NOT BUY!!!

Application mean actually be very good. I would never know because I’ve been unable to get it to connect. I have followed the directions, and also attempted to get support through the chat feature within the application. Alas, that was to no avail. My suggestion is buy a different product!

It is so weird it makes u pay for nothing it is almost like a scam and they will most likely won’t give u a refund

After buying the bulb you would figure SmartLEDLightRemoteControl would work for free or at least have to pay less than 5$ to use it permanently but instead they rather be greedy charging weekly or 20$ to have it permanently with an app that doesn’t even work that well.

After downloading SmartLEDLightRemoteControl (mistakenly thinking it was the WIZ Philips-sanctioned app) I entered two different credit card numbers as prompted (both of which generated an error message which was suspicious as I used both of them regularly without issue). Shortly thereafter, I had to cancel and replace both credit cards for fraudulent use. Just a coincidence?

Unbelievable that the box for these lights make no mention of the fact that you have to buy a subscription to their app in order to actually use any of the features that come standard with smart light bulbs. Complete scam, steer clear and go with a different option these aren’t worth it

You pay a high price for them to just get you to use an app that promotes other apps and services. Unless you pay their fee, you will continue getting ads. Otherwise you cannot use all the features the bulb can offer.

Just buy a regular bulb

Wish I could have seen the reviews for SmartLEDLightRemoteControl before buying over 100 dollars in lights. It worked when I initially set up my lights. Now? I can’t even get them to pair at all. Good job Phillips hue or whatever you can’t make basic software. Pat yourself on the back.

Has some good functionality but stops working as soon as you tab over to another app. Please fix this developers!

I have the hue system and bought another Phillips bulb that turns out to be on a different system. SmartLEDLightRemoteControl does not align with the directions to begin using the bulb. The non-stop adds are also prohibiting. I am not paying a monthly charge to use a light bulb. Bulb is being returned and app deleted. Disgusting!!!

These bulbs change color and dim and they turn on and off. I like all of the features.

why would i buy premium when i already brought the light that’s way to much and to use SmartLEDLightRemoteControl at ALL you have to have premium which is dumb and greedy. 1 star terrible app

This is not the free Philips app. It kept trying to charge me, I kept clicking to just give me the free version. Then it wanted my credit card # to verify the account and said “$0 will be charged”, but yes then it charged my card!!! Thankfully my bank caught it as fraud and rejected the charge. Beware!

i speak of course of the game that is about unfathomable corporate greed. Sign in with your email and pay your monthly fee to turn the light on. Advertising at any given moment. If you are lucky the light that you need to control may work with a different ap called "wiz"

I bought Philips smart Wi-Fi light. it asked me to search for free app Wiz Lighting. During installation it forced me to make a payment. I bought lifetime access for $20. However, it was not able to find my light and redirected me to install Wiz app. I was able to find the light in Wiz App however I wasted money on Smart Light app.

In fact if you are reading this and downloading SmartLEDLightRemoteControl to use the bulbs, do yourself a huge favor and just return them and get your money back.

In order to use your bulbs and have the privelege to be able to actually use the color changing feature on them , you have to be willing to fork over a WEEKLY or MONTHLY subscription. Or you can pay the once lifetime fee which was like 20 or 30 bucks if i remember correctly. All to be able to have the privelege of using your light bulbs that you ALREADY PAID for. That is wild.

On top of SmartLEDLightRemoteControl being riddled with ads and not seeming to work very well in the first place.

Do yourselves a favor and just get a refund honestly. There are plenty of other color changing lightbulbs out there that dont have you have to pay for the privelege of using them on top of what you spent to get them.

Like the many other people on here. Bought the Wiz bulbs and with them it said to download SmartLEDLightRemoteControl to use the bulbs. Could not use the bulbs until you reach into your wallet and spend the money. Once you have unlocked SmartLEDLightRemoteControl then you will not be able to set up/ or use your wiz bulbs. No matter how many times you try. Apple should have this company refund everyone’s money and pull SmartLEDLightRemoteControl from the store.

Now that I have found out that the set I purchased is incomplete I cannot reach customer service to cancel the membership that I should not have had to purchase prior to set up. It’s too difficult to sync

Be warned that SmartLEDLightRemoteControl requires a payment to use…I didn’t want to pay a subscription fee for lightbulbs I assumed I’d be using for years to come, so I opted for the one-time $20 payment…

Wish Id known that SmartLEDLightRemoteControl is not really functional before I did that. Bulbs do not stay connected, and getting them to reconnect is hit or miss. Also, even without the connectivity issues and the surprise payments, SmartLEDLightRemoteControl itself is not intuitive or simple to use.

Phillips has effectively ensured that they will never get my business ever again.

Each time I entered PW it just took me back to the beginning “start with your light on for 5 sec…etc”
