Reducing to one star. App constantly crashes.

Original Review: View Pro 2 is marginally better than the original app. That was a pretty low bar to beat but worth mentioning. It still requires too many taps to accomplish simple tasks. For example, live view and playback are separate areas of AmcrestViewPro2 . Watching live view? Back out, go to playback, select the camera, select the date, start playback. Other apps (Unifi for example) put the timeline right under the camera live view on the same screen. Those let you view live or scroll around the timeline in one place. It should be that simple. Also, the iPad app doesn’t fill the screen. It’s basically the iPhone app enlarged, but not actually formatted to correctly fit the screen ratio. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. Turning your device sideways to view a larger image resizes weird too. That said, it is better than the original View Pro. That was a one star hot mess. View Pro 2 at least functions. Amcrest cameras work great and are reasonably priced. Amcrest NVRs have been reliable for me. Their mobile app development however is still ten years behind where it should be.

Did anyone from Amcrest try using this before releasing it. The Home Screen lists all cameras correctly, but all will have same image of whichever camera you last looked at. Constantly get an error stating that maximum connections have been exceeded when trying to look at a camera when I’m the only person viewing them. Sticking with the version one app for now.

Notifications stoped working. App reinstall helps for a short period of time and then needs to reinstall again. Is that a bug or a feature?

The only events shown are the notifications I’ve looked at. If you pull down the events list to refresh nothing happens. I’d like to be able to see everything in that is on my internal memory card.

App just doesn’t work. Renders my Amcrest camera system utterly useless. Camera system used to work great. The latest update to this garbage app has made my camera system unusable. I get push notifications but there is no live view or playback available. Horrible app. Whoever designed this garbage should quit.

Force you to change password on just adding the camera. That should be an user choice. Just like if I buy a lock, I should be able to leave it unlocked.

This new app cannot do what the old one could which I don’t get it, isn’t the point of a new app to be better in the previous one? Not only that, but if you were using the old one for all your cameras, you actually won’t be able to use this version as it does not recognize all the cameras you might have in your system, even though it’s the same brand (amcrest). It won't accept P2P amcrest camera with serial starting with Z. It says serial not recognized.

I have an Amcrest P2P account in where all my devices are collectively residing. I’m using the previous Amcrest View Pro, one could import all the devices quite effortlessly, but this feature is not part of this new version. You have to manually add one by one. This is no big deal when dealing with just a few devices, but it becomes quite difficult to add every device when your own 30+.

Please incorporate this feature.

Let’s me view my cameras once a day and if you close AmcrestViewPro2 and reopen it, it won’t load the cameras. It is entirely useless. I have spent weeks with customer support trying to fix this and they just give you the runaround telling you to do useless things none of which fixes the problem, you can get notifications all day but it does you no good if you can’t actually open AmcrestViewPro2 and look at your cameras. Every single time I try to it says connection failed, and customer service has been no help

Not even sure where to start in describing the failures of AmcrestViewPro2 on the UI/UX front. Cameras seldom connect, continually time-out, the NVR fails to log the cameras in quick view, the recording scheduling portion of AmcrestViewPro2 is the ugliest most unintuitive piece of garbage I’ve ever seen for scheduling (old routers have better scheduling features than AmcrestViewPro2 does), and I can’t even begin to describe how outdated the general interface is. Take a look at the Tapo camera app and you’ll see something that foreign developers have implemented much much better than AMCrest has. 1 star. Ridiculous

This new version has promise but still lacks the basic ability to show you events seen by the cameras and jump to them. Hopefully they add this.

After purchasing an Amcrest security camera with remote monitoring capability, I went to set up the application. As it turns out, there are two. It seemed logical enough that Amcrest View Pro 2 would be the newer and better option. That was the wrong choice.

Amcrest View Pro 2 hasn’t worked well for me. Audio from the camera is unintelligible and sounds like burbling nonsense. Intercom mode crashes the camera’s firmware (fully updated at the time of writing). A message that might have been important popped up in Chinese, which certainly casts doubt on just who and where this program was really developed. It’s not any failing of the camera — while it too is pretty mediocre, the audio and intercom work just fine from another DVR software package and the camera’s own internal web pages.

Amcrest support hasn’t been too helpful, with suggestions I have either already tried (camera firmware update) or that are irrelevant (factory resetting the camera when it is working fine with other software).

I switched to the older Amcrest View Pro application and that solved all the problems, suggesting that this application could use another look. I hope Amcrest will invest the effort.

It used to work well showing g full resolution of dual 4k (wide angle) cameras on previous iPhone but when I got the new iPhone 16 the resolution is cropped. It shows fine on the monitor connected to the screen but not on the iphone

AmcrestViewPro2 is good, and it has function smart motion like motion human or vehicle, but it doesn’t work. The all functions turned on and motion detection I can see with the monitor to connect to nvr. So I can give only 3 unfortunately.

This is function well. Doesn’t always hook up to certain camera. I don’t see where it gives access to cloud storage ???

Most of it works good. I have 2 PTZ cameras and AmcrestViewPro2 or any of their apps do not allow you to make a PTZ set point. Instead you have to access the camera with a computer and then figure out how to do it. Please add this feature.

Not sure why so many haters of AmcrestViewPro2. I find this to be much better than the original app. Just about all these camera apps are clunky. This one seems to be much easier to use and works great with all my (6) different Amcrest cameras.

Definitely better than the previous app. No not perfect but better.

I was blown away how easy it was to setup the new camera with AmcrestViewPro2, as compared to the old app - kudos to developers. A much better experience overall!

I like the new look of this upgraded version. It is easy to use as well. I hope that they can add the screen lock just like the old app.
