Not giving SwannViewLink a 1 star cause it works for the most part but really slow to display the cameras, there is another swann app i used for my older system that worked all the time and was super responsive however that app does not work with my new swann system so i'm forced to use this crappy version.

The Swaan Security Cameras fail to compete against other security surveillance brands out there. Their online softwares for computers and apps are not compatible with most devices. Navigating through their features are difficult since it doesn’t allow you to do anything. I can’t even scroll to a desired date and time on playback mode on my phone or computer. The system is outdated and useless. They advertise to their product to be easy and convenient which is completely false. I highly recommend users to not purchase Swaan products or use their apps. Judging by how many different versions of apps they have for a security system, it shows that they don’t update their systems, but rather create a new one and leave the old ones sitting there for their long term users to frustrate over.

Everyone has their own expectations and purposes for using SwannViewLink. For me; I just want the ability to view live feed. And you know what? It works flawlessly. Actually, I’m happy IOS11 forced me to switch swann apps as this flows better than the last one.
Of course, I haven’t tried recording and what not, and don’t plan on it. If I need to go back ‘in time’, I’d rather go to the base station itself and use a keyboard and mouse. If it’s serious enough for me to pull records, I won’t be sitting on my iPhone doing a looksee; it’ll be reviewed on a big screen.

I just installed my system tonight. First of all, it took several hours to get the WiFi camera to connect. No instructions on how to configure the system for a WiFi camera. All the video hep clips on Swann’s website skip over the network and internet configs. After searching for 2 hours, finally found a video on Swann’s website (the video help tip wasn’t even for my system) for another network video recorder that explained what I needed to know in order to configure the NVR in order for the camera to connect wirelessly. As for SwannViewLink , I have tested the motion and I do not receive any push notifications. I think I might just go back to the old school way on installing a camera system.

I use SwannViewLink to look at live views of my cameras and it works great. Try and search for activity or just scrub back in time and forget it. Like other users have said just doesn't work. Even if you manage to get it to show some video the minute you try to use the timeline to scrub forward to the next event for example you loose all video and can't get it back. It is absolutely useless for looking and any of the recorded video with is a pretty interesting feature for a surveillance application. I'm giving it 1 star because of how long the authors have been getting complaints about the playback and have don't nothing to fix it.

I have had this camera system for about two years now. In the beginning it worked great I could do everything from SwannViewLink , as time went on I progressively lost features in SwannViewLink . Today all I can do is live feed. If I want to record a live feed forget about it. Look something up from the previous night HA!!! Forget about it. Instead of having the convenience that they advertise on their product. You are stuck to a mouse and screen somewhere in your home. Cameras have been decent but will be switching brands all because SwannViewLink has no support and obviously no intention on being fixed

Always problems to connect, never smooth or easy to access the cameras or review something recorded. Everything is a mess with SwannViewLink we paid a lot of money for a good product and their gadget or app is very poor.. I hope they can fixe the delay when you are trying to connect remotely, SwannViewLink close or simply not connected with the delay of not seeing nothing swiping from wifi to 3g/4g or just saying FAILED TO CONNECT. PLEASE FIX and make SwannViewLink more reliable for all your clients and customers.

SwannViewLink has worked for us for the last 2 years, ever since we bought our home. The previous owner had this system installed and we were initially liking it. However, for the last 3 months we are unable to get live feed. The only way to see anything is to go on the computer. We are both iPhone users...I don’t know if this has anything to do with it or not but based on another review, it’s possible. Swann, PLEASE fix bugs! I don’t want to have to switch to another system but we are getting close to doing so.

So many bugs, I don't even know where to start. The most annoying, is trying to save a video where you navigate to a past time, hit "record", then stop. It doesn't record any video. Nothing is saved. In past versions, it saved but when played back, was slow.. as in 1 frame per second. Transcoding the videos to play back in normal speed should be a priority as many other security camera systems have this feature easily available (nest, Lorex, etc.). I actually night a nest camera because of how terrible SwannViewLink is.

Absolute garbage. If I could give it 0 stars I would. When using the playback, it will show you want it wants when it wants. It does not matter what camera or time frame you pick, it will select a random camera and time period and show that instead. Don’t bother scrolling through the time bar, it will scroll with your finger then show something from a completely different time zone. Come to think of it, the Windows based program does the same thing. Maybe it’s Swann products in general that are garbage.

The user interface of this application is fairly simple to navigate. Settings are easy to locate, understand, and change. You have control over the camera(s) of your choice; one camera on one big screen or four cameras on four little screens. The PTZ option appears to be absolutely useless because it does nothing.

The live feed works. I can see what the camera sees and it even has night vision.

The playback of this application is absolute, complete, and utter garbage. Horrible. Terrible. Ridiculous. I select a specific time I want to review and it doesn't load anything most of the time. The few times it does load, when I try to slide the bar to move forwards or backwards, it doesn't load. Once again, worthless playback.

I can't express how useful this system is. We had a bunch of trash dumped in front of our storage lot, I searched three days back, Bam there he was perfect facial even able to zoom in read his name on his shirt and who he worked for PD arrested the culprit!! Thank you for a great system

This works 50% of the time when I open it to check live view of cameras.. playback is beyond miserable and doesn’t work. Shows there is / was activity on timeline at bottom but you cannot speed forward or reset it, it goes back to the start of the recording session.. it’s 100% useless and I’m so disappointed Swann hasn’t bothered to update the software / app and help the users trying to use it. Very disappointed as others have also warned.

We’ve had our eight camera system for four years and it worked fine until recently. Now neither my wife’s or my phone app will show the live feed. I’m sure the WiFi is working, so based on the other reviews I’m seeing here, it must be SwannViewLink . We were already planning to install a new better system but based on what I’m reading in these reviews and our system not working properly it definitely WILL NOT be a Swann system.

I’ve been struggling with SwannViewLink for over 5 years now. It rarely works. Most of the time I get the “open failed” error, and the 10% of the time I can view my cameras, I loose the image after a couple of minutes. SwannViewLink has one job, to allow you to view your cameras on a mobile device, which is rarely possible. I am now going to try another companies DVR/app that will work with my cameras and never try this one again.

My home uses a 8 channel Swann system and I’m so disappointed in SwannViewLink. It only works when I’m connected to my home WiFi. Besides that LTE or 3G just = login fail. What’s the point of SwannViewLink then. Also no newer iPhone update ? I’m using an XR and the interface is so outdated. I don’t think Swann cares because all SwannViewLink has is 1 stars. Such a pity. I love my camera system just SwannViewLink is pure garbage. What’s the point if only 5% works and the other 95% doesn’t.

It’s cool for the live view, but I’m annoyed that 1. The date format is wacky and the time is in military, 2. It doesn’t automatically record your cameras so there isn’t a way to go back and review cameras. You physically have to push record and not close out of SwannViewLink ... and it just saves to your phone not the camera system. 3. It’s very outdated, you should consider revamping and updating SwannViewLink.
Needless to say I wouldn’t have SwannViewLink and camera if my boss didn’t chose it.

Swannlink is at the edge of the table at the brink of falling into the garbage can. You’ve chosen to leave your iOS customers behind and out of the update loop. Your customer service has been at the same level of your updates ! Which are zero ! What happened to you ? Redeem yourselves and give your iOS customers an update that will restore our loyalty in you ! Can you read between the lines ? Make it happen !

WARING BEWARE!!!! Do not purchase does not work and they haven’t updated in a year or so. Too many issues with these cameras.

It crashes so much. It’s hard to get it to load, and if and when it does it freezes or it’s too late to see what was going on. They don’t fix any of the issues you may have. Not worth it at all. Better cameras and companies out there. Don’t waste your time and money on this. I regret it so much.

As others have mentioned, SwannViewLink used to work but for years now, it has stopped working. It always says log in failed. I have tried everything but considering SwannViewLink’s last update was long ago, this has become useless. I’m surprised that a company that has currently still manufacturing would not continue to maintain their apps.
