They should be embarrassed to release this

PitPat is nearly useless. Very few features, confusing, not user friendly. I’m struggling to figure out what it does to benefit me other than it’s the only way to track my distance other than the little lcd screen. $100/yr?! You have to be joking. There is no way I would pay any money for this. If it were free, it would be 2 stars maybe? PitPat seems like it was randomly generated by AI to look like a functioning app. Very disappointed and my only option for the Deerrun treadmill? I hope not because this thing is getting returned asap.

Causing problems for other apps

I had multiple apps start saying my phone was jailbroken and would not work. For the longest time couldn’t figure it out till I finally gave up and erased my phone to start over. I’m talking over 100 apps on my phone but without a clue as to what was causing the issue I had very limited choices. As I slowly added back apps after setting my phone back up as new found that PitPat was the cause of my issue. This tells me that PitPat is doing things in the background that is questionable and is potentially making my device and its data unsafe. I can’t recommend PitPat until they can fix this issue.
And yes like others when I did have PitPat installed it would disconnect from the treadmill constantly.

Too much going on!

The current version is very buggy and my keyboard jumps when I’m trying to type a message while it’s connected via Bluetooth to the treadmill.

Additionally, overall, PitPat just has SO MUCH GOING ON. I would love the option to have a much simpler version that just has the ‘go walk’ screen and easily be able to view my workout history. I don’t use or need of the avatar, races, connections/leaderboard, etc.

Horrible business ethics and customer service

Let’s start with the bad business ethics. I recently bought a treadmill that came with a sticker attached to it with a coupon for this app. When the coupon was added to the this app account, it couldn’t be applied. After going back and forth with the customer service people, they still continue to say this coupon is for when I buy a new treadmill. Even after explaining the coupon came with a treadmill I just bought, they still insist I MUST buy another treadmill in order to use the coupon. If this isn’t bad practices and ethics, I don’t know what is.

And when it comes to customer service, they easily take 2 days or more to answer emails or messages.

Unhappy with update

Before the update I had no issues with data synching to my Apple health. Since the update it has been nothing but issues and can no longer sync without uninstalling and reinstalling also no have issues with connecting to the same wifi that I had no issues with before. The visual display prior to update was basic and cartoonish but was easy to navigate the updated version is unappealing and cluttered.

Why?

When you purchase your treadmill you will hear that you can access your treadmill with this application, which is exciting for a lot of reasons — you’ll assume your workouts will connect with your phone’s myhealth, you’ll assume that PitPat is simple and that all the basic functions of a health app will be first and foremost. What you will find instead is a convoluted attempt at competitive treadmilling with the face nintendo menus. PitPat needs to connect to health tracker apps if it wants to stay on phones.

Doesn’t Work Don’t Buy Their Treadmills!!

You can’t connect the treadmill to PitPat . Or it will connect for just a second or two and then stop. It worked when these treadmills first came out but were very limited in terms of races and programs. Now that they’ve added new programs the ability to actually use it with their treadmills has stopped. Very disappointed and a costly issue. Now I’m forced to get a new treadmill if I want it to work with a walking or running program. Very frustrated.

Love the treadmill but the app is useless

I can only connect for a second or two before it crashes and disconnects. I’ve had it for 6 months now and I’ve tried everything. I’ve upgraded the software, turned it off and on, closed all my other apps, turned Bluetooth off and on, reset it everywhere and nope, PitPat is just completely useless. The treadmill does come with a remote though so it’s still usable, just don’t buy it with the hopes of using PitPat or earning points or anything like that.

Unable to Use App?

I’ve been walking and doing challenges and suddenly I’m unable to see anything in PitPat , including MY information and statistics. I just keep getting an error message “The data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format” and I am so disappointed because PitPat was motivating me to walk. :(

Uninstalled and reinstalled and now I can’t even log in! I keep getting that error message on the login page. I have screenshots of the error but am unable to add them here.

Downgrading to 1 Star, About to Delete the App

Update: PitPat rarely captures data from the walking pad at all. So far, out of 9 workouts totaling more than 15 hours, PitPat has only recorded two workouts, and the this app app has only writes data to my Apple Health app for one of those workouts. PitPat simply does not work. I’m about to delete it (again).

Downgrading. 1) PitPat takes an extremely long time to record data from the walking pad even though they are connected by bluetooth and WiFi. Like hours long. It should be minutes, if not in real time. 2) Even though I have the Apple Health app set to read and write data from the this app app to the Health app, the data does not sync. In fact, the Apple Health app shows “no data” in the this app app.

The worst app ever

PitPat CONSTANTLY popped up with wanting to connect to Bluetooth. I would usually just dismiss it and ignore it. But then one day the notification to use my Bluetooth popped up and would not go away. It froze my phone. I could not power my phone down. I could not access any other apps I could not unlock my phone the notification to connect to Bluetooth just sat there forever until my phone died. I have never been more furious in my life. Do not under any circumstances download PitPat.

PitPat lost it.

I’m unable to upgrade one of my treadmills so it’s no longer usable with this app. That’s just pathetic stand behind your product. This is this app fault not the user.

With a pro membership I’m unable to join most team races because PitPat has so many flaws or they’re just blocking me because overall I won to much and they will not let me participate. Even after winning a competition for a free treadmill by running being the 1st to run 250 miles they didn’t want to give it to me.
The more you use the treadmill the harder they make it for you to win to the point they flat out cheat using bots. Customer support is worthless now. All the top runners seem to have lost interest because this app uses Bots to stop you from winning.

Good in Theory, but Crashes Constantly

I want to love PitPat, but I’ve yet to complete a race or event - PitPat has crashed 100% of the time. Because many events cost in-game points or even real money, it’s not just an inconvenience when it crashes, but derails the entire point of PitPat . I’m disappointed I spent $7 before I knew what a disaster PitPat is and won’t be putting any more money into it until there are substantial improvements. What a bummer.

PLS LET ME LISTEN TO MUSIC

I’ve used PitPat a few times now and overall it’s just okay. The biggest drawback is that it doesn’t allow you to listen to your music while using PitPat . What kind of fitness app would do that?! 😭😤 Secondly, I wish the layout of PitPat were more organized. It’s sort of messy and not very pleasing to the eye. I do like the concept of PitPat and I think it has a lot of potential but definitely needs some work!

Can’t use other apps

I need to be able to listen to my own music or audio books while walking but it doesn’t let you do so. It’s way too boring just watching the walking. If I could use PitPat control the treadmill and track but while simultaneously switching to another app for music that would be great. It disconnects and stops tracking when I try to do so.

Bluetooth kicks off mid-race

The Bluetooth compatibility between your iPhone (even the iPhone 14) isn’t strong enough to stay connected through your entire race. When I am running for a $$ challenge, the Bluetooth connection is constantly lost mid race and doesn’t automatically reconnect. This causes me to have to start the entire race over and sometimes even multiple times. This is just ONE of the many problems with PitPat.

Not easy to use.

Often has the “data couldn’t be read because it wasn’t in the correct format” error message, sometimes can’t log in, and the avatar’s face stays the same pale color when you change the skin tone (only the legs change). The English is broken, and it’s just overall not easy to use.

Glitchy and crashes frequently

Love what PitPat CAN do! But it’s just so glitchy it drives me nuts. The Bluetooth cuts out at least 4 times during a workout and then won’t reconnect with current settings, so I have to start my workout over again. Constantly logs me out too so it’ll also then stop my workout when I log back in. If it was more stable it would be so cool!

Frustrated

I purchased this upgraded treadmill because of PitPat component. It’s disappointing when mid way through your workout it logs you out and you lose your data that your trying to track. I might as well just use the display screen and write it down when I’m done. I could have saved money and purchased the mini treadmill without PitPat support for all that.

Buggy

One race my camera kept going in circles around my character even when I tried to change the view. Couldn’t look at it. Then it logged me out. Logged in and now won’t connect to my walking pad. Didn’t have an issue before. Just isn’t worth the hassle. Will just start my workout on my Apple
Watch as a walk and track it that way. Good concept poorly executed.

Like but…

I like PitPat and the training it offers a lot, my only complaints are that it doesn’t track your workouts unless you do one of the training sessions. Like I walked for 2 hours today but it didn’t track it at all because I just turned it on and started walking. My second complaint is that I can’t play music through another app. If it could do those two things I would definitely rate it higher and recommend the pad/app to others!

Side note, can you guys get on Quest3! Would love to be able to use it in the metaverse!!

Needs to connect to MyHealth app.

Overall I love PitPat and treadmill BUT this should be able to sync to the Apple Watch and my health. It’s kind of disappointing that it doesn’t sync up with them, I was excited to try to pair with my Apple Watch to log my workouts.

App needs to be more user friendly

App should be able to run if you want to hear music from another app. I feel like I’m stuck with the audio that comes with the race if I want to track my miles. There is stuff like me trying to just do a free walk/run and it started kicking me out and then coming to find out that I need to be in a specific area in PitPat to do this and the only way to find out if because I contacted support and they eventually let me know, otherwise there is nothing in PitPat that let you know this issue. App could be more dinámic, it feels boring and not incentivizing enough even though it says it’s “immersive” … app has potential, but needs work

Irritated

I was forced to update my app (not the source of my irritation) and when I did I lost all my progress (I think I was a level 4). I’m not an avid runner and I don’t use PitPat beyond tracking my daily walking sessions (I use it while working from home). I was enjoying seeing the levels progress. What good is tracking my levels in an unpaid membership if it resets every time PitPat updates? If the only way to keep the levels from resetting is to have a paid membership then don’t offer it unless the person has a paid membership. Doing what you’re doing feels predatory.

Not Sending All Data to Apple Health

This is a great companion app for the treadmill, but I do have a complaint that even though it says it is sending steps & active calories to Apple Health, it is not. I have over 12k steps for today and the Apple Health app only shows a little over 3k. I had 500 active calories and Apple only shows 134. I have many other apps updating Apple Health with no issues.

Interface could use some work - please make compatible with Apple Watch

Simply operating the treadmill should be more obvious in PitPat . Adjusting speed is also tedious. Would be great if you could preset some speed options rather thank dialing up and down.

Not compatible with Apple Watch.

Update to My Original Review

I had previously given PitPat 1 star. But since then, there must have been an update. My app used to lag and crash on me in the middle of a competition workout. It has not done that for about 3 weeks now. After waiting 4 days for a response from customer service, I did figure out how to get my music to work while connected to PitPat and treadmill. PitPat could still use some work as it still drains my battery while using it but it’s better than what it was when I first started.

Fun but limiting

When I saw all kinds of features on PitPat I was even more excited to use my walking pad. However it seems every time I get first in any race PitPat magically crashes and my results get invalid. Very frustrating and makes it where i can’t afford to do another race. Other than that I really enjoy PitPat . I like being able to control my speed with my phone. PitPat does not really work well if you are using the same device to listen to music. The audio gets funky. Maybe when I actually get a prize for one of my races I won, I’ll raise my review.

Motivating!

I’ve never had a fitness app be more motivating to use! It’s been about 6 months that I’ve been using it. Definitely longer than I’ve stuck with most other apps!

New To The Family

I am still trying to learn PitPat . However I do wish I could download on my smart tv or tablet in order to have a more visual experience then my iPhone. All in all it is a great app and the treadmill is absolutely great!!!

So creative

Thank you so much for PitPat it has boosted my confidence!! It makes me sweat and want to push myself. I wish it came with a way to hook your music to PitPat . I wish we could host private rooms to walk with friends only.

Run Fast, Win!

I’m a big fan of this treadmill I purchased and the gravy on top is that PitPat this app works with it. I’ve already made some money on the winning some competitions. It’s pretty fun. I’ve definitely been working out more because of PitPat!!! - Fast Run

Good use!

My friend recommended this software to me and also let me experience the good features here, I just want to participate in his course running because I can challenge and complete many difficult courses to challenge my limits, now I have reached the hardest stage, his scenes are very realistic and the course difficulty setting is great, this is what motivates me to keep experiencing, recommended to users who like challenges and running.

Very Challenging

Great App! I love this app! It’s exciting and motivating for me to use at home. The live interaction, cheers, and rewards encourage me to push through when I feel like giving up. PitPat . changed recently. There were a lot of complaints with various issues. However, this app listened and it appears they’ve resolved the concerns. If you desire a home fitness walking pad, you can’t go run with DeerRun (or any walking pad that utilizes this app). It’s an Outstanding Perk!!!
