The Oticon Companion is not remaining active in the background on Android 12, even with notification set to on. And no, upgrading to Android 13 is not an option.
This app works fine except for the wearing time part of it. It used to work better until the latest update of the firmware in my hearing aids. Even though my iPhone 12 Pro Max with the iOS 17.3.1 operating system connects well via Bluetooth the hearing time rarely works. The version of the Oticon Companion app I am using is (8012) 1.3.0. When I try to switch programs it stays on general.
Dropping HA connection is much more frequent when in aTVA3 streaming mode. Hey Oticon, please put some adults in charge of this project.
I bought a pair of expensive Mores to replace my Opn 1’s. Both apps worked with both versions initially, but when I went back to wearing my Opn’s (to use up my battery stock - & since I’ve also found I prefer the Opn’s over the new Mores, apart from the latter being rechargeable). However, when I tried to connect the app to the Opn’s this morning it tells me they aren’t compatible! Oticon must be the worst company for customer support - so how do you get any redress? Useless!
The Oticon Companion app seldom works! It is very annoying. The New app is also very basic compared to the app of other hearingaids. Whenever I want to use the app it is not working,for both ears Or only left Or right! Please improve this app it is necessary reading all the reviews. I have a Apple iPhone SE and a iPhone 8. Both give the same problems!
The Oticon On app worked extremely well. The new Oticon Companion does not. Previous comments sum up the problems exactly without my going over everything again. My audiologist has no answers other than to discard the app and use settings. I did not pay £5.000 for this inconvenience. Unless the situation is resolved very soon, or you revert to the former app, you will lose me as a customer. Valerie Collins
I had the Oticon On software for a number of years and it was great. Before going into a meeting i could change the sound setting very quickly and unobtrusively. Now half the time Oticon Companion is not connected when I want to change the setting. Bring back Oticon On and I will be happy again. Oticon was my preferred brand until now. This seems to be an example of how to destroy customer loyalty as now I would encourage others to look at other brands.
I never had issues with your OTICON ON app. This new OTICON Companion act has problems loading my right hearing aid. I had to delete the app and reload twice. Once I do the reload the Bluetooth works on both hearing aids. Its aggravating to have to respond to all the load up questions.
Occasionally I get 3 sets of 8 short beeps in one hearing piece (right). Please advise.
Oticon ON app worked great for me. Out of the blue my ON app says it's no longer available and I have to download the new Companion app. My hearing aids will not connect to the new Oticon Companion. Companion states that my hearing aids are not supported by the new Companion App. I switched from Siemens to Oticon specifically for the app support. If this is an attempt to get me to buy a new pair of $5000 Oticon hearing aids it failed miserably! Oticon, please make this right! If I have to buy a new pair of hearing aids to enjoy the convenience of app support, the next pair will not be Oticon.
Joining the chorus of users having problems with Companion. The app constantly drops the connection between my iPhone 14 to my Opn 1 HA's. Never experienced this problem with Oticon ON. Now ON has been disabled by the manufacturer. Congratulations Oticon. You have replaced an app that worked with one that doesn't. Unless and until Oticon fixes this, I have settled on a temporary solution. I deleted Companion.
The old app was much faster and I had very few issues with it. With companion app my ears crash 3 to 4 times a day. I should not have to reconnect every time i walk 15' away from my phone... Not happy at all with this companion app... I have tried posting this several time and get notice to try again - I think you need a new IT professional! Alexander S. McNair
As the Oticon On app is "no longer available", which I don't understand since I already have it on my iphone, I get the notice that I should download Oticon Companion. However, when I try to open the app, I get a message saying my hearing aids are not compatible. This is unacceptable since one of the features that was used to sell me on the Oticon hearing aids was the original app. Now it doesn't work and there's no actual replacement. Completely negates all the advertising they do to claim how much they "care" about people's hearing.
Oticon On app worked with my aids, why is the New Oticon Companion app not compatible with my hearing aids? Also now that you shut down Oticon On , I no longer have any app to use . If I need to change hearing aids I will not buy Oticon .
My oticon companion app isn't updating to the latest version, the version with the sound equalizer and time of use options. I have deleted the app and reinstalled numerous times. My app seems to be the older version. I was running IOS 16 on my iphone now I am using IOS 17.0.1. The battery level is showing 100% after the 5th day of use.
My volume controls are reversed on Oticon Companion, also they take a long time to connect to my Iphone. Sometimes they take 30 seconds to disconnect. My hearing devices also reboot for no reason sometimes 3 times a day. These were sold to me with the impression that they were a lot better than my old ones, however I cant tell any difference. Seem like a lot for money for no improvement.
I have failed to pair my older Oticon miniRITE with the new app after numerous attempts. Please put the old app back so I can check the batteries and change the volume. The app says my hearing aids are not compatible and my audiologist says that they absolutely are. Would appreciate a call my phone is 719 439-2364. I have tried new batteries and reinstalling the app.🙁
Old app 100 good. This app is is a Dud, if i leave the room with out iphone come back problem connecting , also it it is so slow.
I went to use the Oticon On App this morning and got a message that the App was no longer in use. There was a link to Oticon Companion which I loaded on my Iphone. However, whenever I tried to pair my hearing aids to the app, I got a message stating that the app was not compatible with my hearing aids. I have Oticon Opn2 and Oticon On worked perfectly. I attempted to call customer service but after 3 attempts of being on hold for 20 mins each time, I gave up. I did send an email, so hopefully I will get a response. I'm at a quandry because I tried every trouble shooting tip to no avail. Beyond frustrated.....
Suddenly in remote control there is only one setting for increasing the volume and only one setting for decreasing the volume plus an off setting. Until now there were 4 settings for increasing the volume and 4 or more for decreasing the volume.

Replaced Oticon On with Oticon Companion on Samsung AS03, and have had continuous problems. The App drops connection to my miniRITE aids, which frequently requires shutting the phone and restarting. Bluetooth connection very tenuous, and reconnection over complicated. I have now uninstalled the Companion App, and reinstalled Oticon On, which I have in use without serious problem for over a year. Companion App is not fit for purpose.
I use a Oticon Real 2 aid, the companion app and a Samsung A50 smart phone. My problem is that the speech booster will not stay on

The first time I installed the app (Android), it worked fine. Each time since then when I click to start it, I get a message saying "Reconnecting..." and after a couple of seconds it turns off. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the problem remains. The audiologist warned me that the app isn't as good on Android phones as on iPhones.
