It doesn’t work !!!

Author claims there’s a more powerful regex/rule checker in the report UI, but I only have a dialog to reclassify the reported message, and check the URL, as well as to send the report forward. Once I click the mislabeled send report option, it does let me check how that particular message resolves in the ruleset.

But it does not let me sandbox how a freeform sample message input of my own would resolve (eg something not originally filtered by this app therefore not reportable). It would also be incredibly inconvenient to craft rules in the main UI but have to check them from Messages.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be an effective replacement for the standalone rule checker that existed before.

I dislike the smart filter on Junkman even with aggressive disabled. While it’s very effective at removing political spam, etc, it also overshoots and moves a lot of legit texts to junk—anything from my credit card companies, shipper notices, ticket purchase confirmations, etc, those all get filed away. It’s not the author’s fault iOS doesn’t let you classify them back, but since they don’t the filter being liberal is an issue.

That said, the author did reach out at one point and suggest I send him texts that aren’t working. The problem is a lot of them have confirmation links or other personal info in them and I can’t.

So I rely on manual rules only. And at one point Junkman had the best feature: you could paste in a sample text and it’d run rules on it, so you’d know how the filters would treat it. This was *invaluable* to me, especially since it gave me a hint of what the smart filter would overclassify so I could exclude it with a positive rule.

Unfortunately, this feature is now gone. So now rules are a crapshoot again. It’s a shame because there are so few of these filter apps that even work. I don’t know why the author chose to move backwards with such a distinguishing feature.

I’m now looking for another SMS filter, and definitely won’t be paying a subscription fee on this one. Moving backwards is never ok with a subscription.

Thus far I have been using this app solely to silence SMS that contain words that I specify. These include ads using the name of someone whose phone was assigned my number in the past; political solicitations; and more. Junkman I was using for this previously stopped working. But this app has performed the task flawlessly. And it is more versatile, e.g. allowing you to specify whether the rule you create requires a partial match or an exact match. One caution is that if something seems like it’s not working, be sure you have checked every setting. (Without getting too specific, there were cases where I thought that disabling option “A” automatically disabled seemingly-related option “B,” but it didn’t.) Soon I will try the other capabilities.

So far I have less spam texts! I like cream, creamer and sugar with my coffee and hot tea!

I was getting inundated with political spam text just would not end and after searching several sites and asking around, I downloaded this app and it worked! I can’t believe it, it put all my spam text in a separate junk text folder and I don’t have to look at them. Thank you this app!!

I was getting a dozen or more spam text messages a day, none of which were blocked by Verizon’s Call Filter app. After researching and trying out a few anti-spam text message apps, I found this app. I haven’t subscribed yet; I’m currently just using the built in Smart AI Filter. Junkman has blocked all of the annoying spam text messages ever since I installed it. I’ll be upgrading to the monthly subscription service soon if it continues to work ok. Hats off to the developer! this app, thank you for saving my sanity! Within a day before and after the big presidential debate, I received at least 15 junk political messages, making me crazy and disrupting my life. As soon as I installed your app, they immediately started going to a junk folder instead of my inbox! At your current price, Junkman is completely worth it. (Even got you a teapot as a thank you!) I request and truly hope that you do not do your customers dirty like the big name spam filter service that nearly quadrupled their price after one subscription year. Great app, it actually works!!

I to be a Textkiller user, however, they raised their prices from $29.99 to $79.99 and that’s not worth it.

After trying several different Apps I stumbled upon this app. I couldn’t believe it, why have I been paying for a subscription when this app does the exact same thing except better.

Here are the top five reasons why I feel Junkman exceeds all others.

1: Totally free no trials everything works.

2: Works locally does not store any information.

3: AI smart filter algorithms.

4: Ability to use regular expressions & partial filters.

5: Ability to block bomb attacks.

It is Junkman that works as my expectation.

this app is awesome! I did the mistake of giving out my number by donating to a political party. They’ve been ruthlessly soliciting for money, spamming numerous times almost every day, including on Sunday’s. The political spam is impossible to get rid of no matter how many time you unsubscribed, they’re like lemmings, they just keep popping up!! this app to the rescue!!! Five stars and I’m happy to support the developer by paying! The political spam Blitzkrieg assault is over thanks to this app. Hail this app!

I was getting up to 50 unwanted political texts every day. I tried everything and it was driving me crazy. So thankful I found this app. It worked immediately.

I’ve had Junkman about 2 weeks and I went from 5-7 junk text messages a day to maybe 4-5 a week. I’ve tried other Apps with no success. Best App out there for junk texts, etc. I highly recommend Junkman

I have a grad degree in Political Science and still can’t stomach just how unbearable the random unsolicited SMS harassment has become starting 18 months in advance of the next election cycle. This individual is easily the most righteous and philanthropic developer on Junkman Store—full stop. This message-handling/sorting extension has solved EVERYTHING. All Hail!

I was getting junk/inappropriate texts from email addresses and it was SO upsetting - Junkman really works to filter them out! You can make your own filtering rules (which I haven’t played around with yet) and test if a number will show up as junk or not. I’m very satisfied - thank you so much!!

I’ve had this app for about a month now and it really was a godsend. I’ve used Hiya and other “SMS Filtering” apps but then still get all the clickbait spam messages coming through 2-3x a day. It wasn’t until this app that those messages just got buried.

It’s great to have an app that cuts down on distractions and annoyances all day!

Excellent app but wish it could delete the sms spam instead of just classify it. Would be nice to have two profiles: 1 to filter and one to delete. The fact that I’m typing this shows how good it is but some sms is so clearly from idiots and needs to be deleted.

Why doesn’t apple want to do this themselves?!?! Not sure but this app handles this for them.

I have been having problems for six months people texting me 50 times and one day all this stuff about I have malware I have this I have that spam and I couldn’t stop it. I kept blocking them I put this on last night and it has blocked every one of them and has three contained, I’m very impressed I didn’t have to wake up to 50 text messages

I really needed this! I have been getting 10ish messages a day promoting crypto and betting sites in Chinese.

I am reporting the messages because I see that only Turkish and English messages are covered well. I hope my effort will help!
