Not able to connect to a vehicle

I was in Las Vegas from 9/17 to 9/21. I tried to get a ride using Zoox . Either Zoox didn’t work or I kept getting an error message saying “we can’t pick you up right now“ with no explanation or letting me know when it would be back up and working. I was looking forward to riding it. Highly disappointed.

Be prepared to wait an hour for a sub-par ride

Title says it all. Zoox rescheduled my ride three times, as I watched other people get in other this app’s. Seems like they’re scheduling rides to influencers tbh. Just pay a cabby unless an hour of standing around is worth your free ride

Missing functionality

Was excited to try out this app while staying on the strip. No matter where on the strip I was standing or how far I wanted to travel, I could never hail a this app (despite standing within the serviced zone displayed in Zoox ). Disappointing.

Megafail

UP: this app said 18 minutes. 10 minutes in it cancelled on me. Not sure how the machine cancels on me but there you go.

Down: initially quoted 45 minutes, then the timer went up to 47, 49, and then 50, after 20 minutes had elapsed.

Terrible!!!

Even 1 star is too much for the terrible service they have. How can they launch something which is missing basic cab booking elements. PLEASE STAY AWAY from such launches!!

Couldn’t use it

I know this app is new and still in early stages. That being said, during my 3 day trip to Vegas, I couldn’t use it even once.

Day 1 was a Saturday, which apparently isn’t a day that they operate. Nowhere in Zoox did it say that. It just gave an error when trying to book a ride saying that they couldn’t pick me up, maybe due to road conditions. You have to hit “Help” to see that they don’t operate on Saturday.

On Sunday, same issue. I texted their support and got this as a result: “Hi rider, this is Michelle with this app Support In Las Vegas. You can use Zoox to request a ride between the four destinations in our service area. These destinations are Resorts World Las Vegas, Luxor, Topgolf, and AREA15. At this time New York New York is down we don't have an ETA when service will be back up. Please also make sure you're at the pick up location or within 20 meters of your pickup spot when requesting a ride. We're working to add more Las Vegas destinations in the months ahead. These rides are free for a limited time.”

I was trying to go from the Vdara to New York New York, 0.4 miles away.

Day 3 is Monday and I’m leaving and this app doesn’t operate until 11am.

I will try this again and modify my review if it is warranted once I’m back. But for now, 1 star for Zoox for not conveying the actual issues preventing a ride.

I rode from Resorts World and was very impressed. It’s more like riding on a couch than in a car - it smoothly dealt with traffic on Las Vegas Blvd - can’t wait to take it to/from the airport.

My wife and I went to Vegas for Veteran's Day week and had a lot on our list to visit. We had planned to use Lyft or Uber, but while walking outside, saw this mysterious electric vehicle the size of a VW Bug. While speaking about it on an Uber ride, we also asked the driver about it, what it was. He explained it was a new type of Public transportation in a testing phase. After visiting some more attractions and thinking about this new ZOOX transportation, we decided to try it. Although skeptical about electric vehicles, especially the safety, or lack of involved, we thought YOLO. We asked a couple at one of the stops how they were able to ride the vehicle. They explained downloading the ZOOX app and calling up a ride, which we did. Since the vehicles are still in testing, the stops are limited to specific casinos, etc, on the strip, but will expand to the Sphere by 2026, maybe beyond?... Anyhow, we were astonished by the quick trip. At a top speed of 35 mph, we wondered how quick we would reach our destinations. Surprisingly, the vehicle was a quick smooth trip to every destination. Each vehicle is synced to the app, allowing corroboration of rider when it arrives, by allowing you to select opening the doors with your phone when arriving. Once the doors close behind and each person has buckled up, you simply press a button on a pad embedded into the interior cab to close the doors and your adventure begins. On the way, you.may use the touchpad to play your selection of mus8c within the can, rocking out along the way to your destination. I must make you aware that an evening ride is quite the show, as ceiling mounted fiber optic star lighting mesmerized the senses and adds to the excitement. There is adequate space for comfortable trips, allowing you to stretch your legs. I could continue, but I encourage you and your friends/family to try this new invention, as it will amaze you and others with you. Thank you, ZOOK.
