See what I did there? This idea of interacting with the content in a podcast is brilliant. CleverFM still feels like an early execution and has some details to polish off but wow, I can’t believe it’s taken this long to allow listeners to see images and link to the stuff inside a podcast’s audio. Also taking notes at key moments in the audio is priceless. I’m excited to see how they improve this already great idea!

Overall the apps style is decent, but quirky and not always sensible. Podcast descriptions never show, instead it says “Show more” in order to show anything. Sometimes names don’t fit on a line and you end up with orphan letters, like “Marketplace” where the “e” falls on its own line. Durations don’t seem to work, it only shows how much as played but not how much remains. Pages take several seconds to load on 100mbps+ internet on an iPhone SE2 and you can’t use CleverFM without creating an account. The animations are nice and CleverFM has potential, but it’s just not there yet to use regularly.

So easy to use and have unique product features that you wouldn’t be able to find elsewhere. For years, I’ve had to take notes off my podcasts but no more! The design is thoughtful, from small things like tutorials to search.
