Clunky non standard UI makes app hard to use

Non standard checkboxes, buttons, and other UI components make BlissHome hard to use.

I write iOS software for a living and I found the pairing process difficult

I have the BlissLights 2.0 and feel BlissHome is cleaner and easier to use.

I was disappointed BlissHome includes so few themes. Only 4! Geez

Light was great then not

The light it self is great..... BlissHome not so much. Got it to pair initially and it worked for a bit but then it stopped and can’t get it to pair again. When it was paired and did work the settings you chose wouldn’t stay to what you set them. After 10 seconds or so it would change back. Seems like the pairing process could be made easier and the controls could be made easier light other light controller apps.

Very annoying

I got the Evolve “projector” and learned I need an app to use it, which is the first negative. BlissHome is ridiculously annoying and the settings don’t stick. I lower the brightness and 10 seconds later it gets bright on its own again. I turn off the stars, they come right back. I’m going to return the light so I don’t have to use BlissHome.

By

Same Issues

The same thing other people are saying. When it first paired it was delightful it was beautiful it was great… Now I have been doing configurations on my computer and I wish I would’ve read these reviews first I wouldn’t of bothered, so this was a big waste of my time and I do not like BlissHome. I love the light, but I hate BlissHome .

By

Not compatible with the 2.0

Extremely disappointed that they made a new app and chose to exclude their previous model which is Bluetooth capable. They still sell the 2.0. It’s not discontinued. So why not support it? The old app is terrible and I was very excited for this.

By

Bliss Evolve

I am so excited to try out this “smart” device!

By

Has a very hard time connecting to device

This has been the most infuriating experience. BlissHome times out every time I go to connect. BlissHome is complete trash

By

Does not actually connect to google assistant

Link is stuck in a loop that redirects google home app back to this app, nothing changes, unable to use assistant and extremely disappointed with the ember lights

By

Stopped working

Worked for one single day and will not rotate at all. Tried everything in BlissHome and restarting everything. Waste of money. Returning. Do not buy

By

A problem

Can you like make a app for the bliss light that is not 2.0 like for the white one cause idk how to connect it and what to connect it too that would be very helpful

By

No user privacy

I have already paid for the projector. And now you have an app that wants ro track me across websites, to sale that as well?

Absolutely not

By

Not in the least bit user friendly

I have 3 bliss lights. I have the OG version, the SkyLite 2.0, and the SkyLite evolve. The fact that BlissLites could not figure out how to combine apps for SkyLite 2.0 and SkyLite Evolve is super inconvenient and annoying. this app doesn’t make any sense. The “scenes” you create get deleted anytime someone turns the projector off by button (I live with many people so this happens a lot); I end up having to reconnect my device at least once a week because of this, which also deletes all my saved scenes and does not allow me to reattach those deleted scenes even though the sequence is clearly saved.

The “scenes” themselves are extremely confusing and don’t do what I want them to. If I want to set up a scene, it does not allow me to choose a “theme”. The “if” portion of scene creation makes absolutely no sense at all and there is no info button to help users operate these features. What does “if” even mean??

I wanted to set up my projector so it turns on and off at the same time everyday, but I also want it to dim at a specific time of the day. I tried to set up 2 separate “if” scenes, one for daytime and one for nighttime (where it dims), but the nighttime scene never turns on.

After having to reconnect the device multiple times since I first got it (my wifi connection is not the problem), I have decided to only use “automation” and manually change the brightness of clouds and stars every single day.

BlissHome is super inconvenient to use, not user friendly at all, and I still can’t believe they decided to create a whole new app for Evolve rather than combing it with BlissLights original app, which is much more simple to use.

1 star out of 5, but only because 0 stars is not an option.

The projectors themselves are amazing. It’s just really disappointing that BlissHome creators couldn’t bother to put them all on ONE app, nor could they create a user friendly tutorial on how to even use the apps.

Ps. The “if” weather change feature is stupid and completely pointless.

I love the projectors but I absolutely hate BlissHome.

GARBAGE!!!!!

Trash!!!!!

Horrible connection to device

BlissHome has a very tedious process of trying to pair the phone to the device. The method suggested never works. I spent fifty dollars on this device, if you can’t fix BlissHome then I will get in contact with other reviewers and we will contact the BBB. Very disappointing. When I first got the evolve, it connected first try and worked great with BlissHome . But the next time the device was unplugged BlissHome became unusable. Fix it, and the customization is great. The device is great, BlissHome is terrible.

By

Set up worked perfectly for me

I don’t doubt that these other reviewer’s have had issues with BlissHome . God knows I’ve struggled with these kinds of Wi-Fi enabled devices in the past. Connecting them is never easy! However, I don’t know if they updated BlissHome since these reviews, or if I just got lucky, but this was hands-down, the easiest set up I’ve ever done. Everything worked perfectly the first time: connected to my Bluetooth, connected to my home Wi-Fi, paired with Alexa… All very quickly and all on the first try. So, I can’t promise you will have the same experience, I did… But I definitely recommend trying it for yourself before being influenced by all the negative reviews. The Bliss Light Evolve is super cool and for me, at least, BlissHome and control via Alexa has been very easy.

By

Very simple and quick to set up.

You boot up BlissHome , and follow the steps. In like 5 minutes, it was ready to go - no problems on my iPhone 14 pro max.

I really don’t understand the complaints. The device will not connect until you allow permissions which it requests from you as soon as you press “continue.” You also have to be on the same Wi-Fi. I think people are just bad with directions.

Interestingly enough, this other app called “smart life” is the exact replica of this one(or maybe the other way around) and it is highly reviewed. I’m not even kidding everything is the exact same except BlissHome is purple themed and the smart life app is blue themed.

This App needs to be reported as non-functioning and the product removed from sale!

This is single handedly the absolute WORST bluetooth smart lighting device ever created. BlissHome should connect to the lighting device via Bluetooth and all functions and customizable from BlissHome via Bluetooth. What is the purpose of asking for the wifi password? When it times out over wifi. Seriously? this app couldn’t figure out how to make a product that connects and is controlled over Bluetooth? In 2022? Yo, recall your products cancel your app and start over! This is pure garbage.

A simple string of cheap LED lights with a simple app that’s 5 years old is more advanced than this app! That Im referencing is called HappyLighting. Look them up in BlissHome store. Maybe call them for some pointers.

Look at the awesome 2 star reviews y’all are getting. They are instructions on “STARTING OVER”!

By

I want to like more but…

Almost every time I change from ambient to nightlight or even change colors, BlissHome goes to a white screen. So then after one change I have to close BlissHome and reopen to do anything else.
If that gets fixed I’ll update the stars. I have a ton a lights apps for stuff all over my home and BlissHome drives me crazy. But I do like the functionality and would be a solid 4 stars if not for the white screen issue.

By

difficult setup , its SUPER hard to press options in the app

the setup was difficult and it took me hours to connect the projector to my devices . In order to change the galaxy’s light to different colors / scenes , it usually takes a super hard and long tap to change . Other than those problems .
Other than that , the projector projects ve eh pretty light and i don’t regret this purchase

By

Good once set up

I had trouble setting up BlissHome at first until I realized there was an option to connect via Bluetooth. It kept trying to get me to pair it with Wi-Fi at first but that didn’t work. Once I got it paired via Bluetooth all has been well. The customization is great and I use it almost daily for my Evolve galaxy light.

By

Works Fine!

Confused about the negative reviews-maybe I have an updated version of BlissHome or something. I was able to set up my device in BlissHome in about five minutes and I’ve had no problems with it whatsoever. Easy to use.

By

I think it’s super pretty

I really do think this is super pretty, but I can’t get BlissHome to work. I’ve tried bluetooth so so many times and it fails to connect. It takes a long time to connect and once the little circle says it’s complete, it says “connection timeout” but nothings changed. I really don’t know what to do because this light has so much potential :(

By

So cool

This worked absolutely amazing. I’m not completely sure why there’s so many negative reviews because this is worked perfectly. It’s super precise on the color and the connection works great. I love this.

By

complete and utter waste of space

i would have given this ZERO stars if i could. the bluetooth capabilities do not exist and the whole time, the awful lasers were on. BlissHome screen was completely frozen. it would not change. please send out a recall, or i will personally band up together with said other reviewers and take you to the big courts. it’s a dangerous world out there buddy.
take it easy.
*tilts hat and storms away*

Company needs to upgrade this device to 5G

Disappointed that I can not use BlissHome because you must ONLY use 4G. I was getting ready to buy another light but decided not to. The lights are beautiful but why offer an app if you can’t use it.

By

Update broke it!

I just tried to install the latest software update, as it had been bugging me for awhile. BlissHome failed to update, and when I tried to turn on the light, it no longer worked. I’ve tried plugging it in, unplugging it, holding the button down, nothing. I’m so disappointed, it worked great until this update 😡

By

UPDATED REVEIW

If you are having trouble its because your wifi isnt the right kind. Your welcome for actually giving a solution lol

By

It’s okay

It was pretty hard to set up and connected to Bluetooth and stuff, but the lighting and everything else works good.

By

3 Stars 2 lights

Super bummed about a change or a glitch that is causing me to have BRIGHT WHITE control screens for each of my lights on BlissHome :((( Really bothersome for an app one uses to control lighting!!! Especially if you were trying to use the lights for sleep.

I have 2 of these lights and they both work and connect very easily over my home wireless in two different houses I have lived in. I have not had problems with BlissHome other than a few glitches here and there.

By

WHY IS WI-FI REQUIRED?????

FAIL. This was a gift I bought for someone who doesn’t have access to Wi-Fi. I was so angry to discover Wi-Fi is required while we were trying to pair the device after he opened the present. The reason I chose it was because of how amazing it seemed with the phone being able to customize the controls. What a let down, embarrassment and waste of money. This should NOT require Wi-Fi, absolutely absurd. A regular controller should be included with this product

By

Impossible to connect

I bought this with the intent to customize options through BlissHome as advertised. Problem- it doesn’t connect and so I’m stuck without the customizations promised. Just send out remote controls because it’s obvious this company isn’t advanced enough to figure out Bluetooth pairing in 2023 🙄

By

Help?

Great app but but device (evolve) was removed and when I added it back the customization page (to choose color etc.) was in light mode instead of dark mode. I like the dark mode better because all apps on my iPad have dark mode. I tried reloading BlissHome and that didn’t work and I tried removing the device and adding it again. I hate the light mode. I hate it because all other apps have dark mode and i don’t like to be blinded by light at Nighttime.

By

Schedule stopped working

It was fine until the schedule feature just stopped working randomly. I tried deleting the triggers and redoing them but it just doesn’t work anymore.

By

good app fun device!

i’m using this with the sky lite evolve. i found the setup process to be very easy. connecting was slightly finicky, although the problem seemed to be with the physical button and not BlissHome . that said, it only took me a couple tries to get it to connect. an update was needed once i was in BlissHome , but all in all the entire setup process took me about five minutes. BlissHome is simple to use and it’s fun to mess around with different settings! i was surprised by how customizable the projection is and by the fact that there’s both a timer and schedule setting. very cool!!!

By

Long time to connect but happy with result

Me and my mother were stressing out about this!!! We had to change our whole wifi from 5ghz to 2.4ghz and had to spend hours trying to figure out how to operate BlissHome properly.. but eventually we got the hang of it. I’m pretty happy since the light I got is really pretty but I take away -2 starts because of how stressful this process really is

By

Automation stopped working

Worked great for a good month or two. Had it set to automatically come on at 10:30p, and then turn off early AM. But recently the automation just stopped working. Can still connect to the device via BlissHome and control it manually but can’t get it to turn on and off automatically which is kind of a pain.

By

5-star hardware, 1-star app

I purchased a Blisslights Evolve Cloud, and thankfully the light itself is exactly what I had hoped for. BlissHome , unfortunately, is a disaster. I wish I could at least review some of its features, but I haven’t been able to get past the connecting process. No matter what I do, it asks for my wifi password (it’s not a freaking security camera, it should NEVER need this info to function), I wait for it to connect, and it times out. It then offers to alternatives: AP mode(aka the exact same process as “EZ” mode in my case) or Bluetooth mode, which, right off the bat, requires…you guessed it…your wifi login credentials. What the actual &%#!@$???
If it’s a Bluetooth device, it should not need wifi AT ALL. Anyway, love the light, lol keep up the good work on that front?

No Instructions?

I own the Bliss Light Evolve and tried to connect it with BlissHome . There were no instructions in the box and BlissHome did not offer much help. I got timed out a few times, BlissHome is for the wi-fi enabled devices for Bliss Lights and they want to connect to your internet router.

After getting timed out a number of times I moved closer to my router and there were no issues getting connected. I had to be almost next to the router for my device to connect. It would have been so much easier if either BlissHome or the device had instructions to add the device to BlissHome sitting next to the router. After the device was added I moved it to its new home and have had zero issues. BlissHome operates just as it should with minimal additions. I do like that I can set a schedule for the light in BlissHome to turn on and off instead of having to use BlissHome to turn on the device every night (that is why it got 3 stars instead of 2).

By

Pretty Easy to Use

Didn’t have a problem with set up, although I suggest you hook up the device close by the light projector for easier connection. The automatic themes are pretty nice, and I love that you can customize your own speed of how the cloud effect moves, the laser too. Although, I wish the projector could move on its own but overall it’s a nice little device. Really sets the mood!

By

Great lights, horrible app

The lights are amazing, but BlissHome is terrible when it comes to connecting. I’ve tried every method possible for hours straight, even using different mobile devices or mobile hotspots with the same issues. It constantly times out before completing the pairing/adding of the device. Please fix/update this apps’ connecting/pairing problems, kind of ridiculous that so many of us are having this issue.

By

Can’t Fully Enjoy Without Internet

Recently got an Evolve and was hoping by downloading BlissHome , I’d be easily able to access the various color settings via Bluetooth only, sans WiFi. I actually thought other dissatisfied customers were exaggerating. Turns out their displeasure was warranted. You do need WiFi and I found that out the hard way, after coughing up my email and signing up, which will now probably guarantee a ton of inbox spam. Blisslights also wanted to know a bunch of personal info, which just rubbed me the wrong way. I mean, I just wanted to look at some pretty colors on my ceiling, that’s it! Wasn’t interested in setting timers for when it was humid or cold, didn’t care to connect with other smart devices and whatnot. Really frustrating! Immediately deleted BlissHome , and will just use the basic functions instead. An absolutely foolish business move by BlissLights to alienate a segment of their customers.

By

No issues with setup here

I’m sure the reviews where people had trouble with pairing are valid. But I think the developers updated their software because my experience today was very easy and fast. I did it all while my toddler laid asleep in bed. BlissHome is so helpful now to control the brightness and timer for my little one.

So far so good. Hopefully the automatic updates I agreed to will continue to help keep this device running smoothly.

By

Connection process is awful

I haven’t been able to get it to recognize that I have Bluetooth turned on, though I’ve turned it off and on again several times. The manual connection wants to connect through WiFi, but it times out repeatedly, even though the router is about ten feet away in direct line of sight. I’ve never had difficulty pairing anything via Bluetooth before in my life. I’m on an iPhone 15Pro Max. So I don’t understand the problem, but, judging by the other reviews here, I feel it’s with BlissHome , not me.

By

Overcomplicated connection process

Connection process was way too lengthy and confusing, with hard to understand instructions and some weird steps. Like it needed location permissions and my WiFi password and a specific WiFi setting which felt a little odd. Took multiple tries to get started, and then I had to update my phone right away which also felt odd? But it does seem to work once started.

By

complicated process, keeps disconnecting

It was complicated setting up, took about 20 minutes. Asks for WiFi password, I mean, why though? It keeps disconnecting me from BlissHome , and my Alexa is connected to it, but BlissHome keeps removing my device and I have to keep re adding it! Please fix BlissHome 🤦🏽‍♀️

By

Set up in less than 5 minutes

BlissHome worked great for me! No problems at all. With BlissHome you can change brightness of the stars or turn them off which is what I wanted and you can change how fast everything moves. And there is a large range of colors you can pick. Barely took me any time to connect my device and figure out everything!

By

Long setup but functional

I understand everyone complains about the setup length. Honestly, it took a while. Asks for all sort of information, agreements to policies, and an update, etc. It was pretty annoying to set up but after a bit, I finally got to BlissHome itself. The best way to put it is “Barely functional”. App is unresponsive to my commands sometimes, like turning the device off or switching to a different tab. Yes, it worked though, which I should give credit to. I just wish there were more customizable options and the colors were more accurate. Green looked like blue, blue looked like purple, and purple looked like red. Not a full color wheel either. Overall, BlissHome was fine as was the device. But unless you have the patience, work it manually and settle for the presets.

By

Do (much!) better, Blisslights!

I have over a dozen Evolves, four Velarus lights, and four H20 globes…and BlissHome almost makes me regret buying every single one of them.

I don’t have the connection problems other reviewers seem to have; initial setup was straightforward enough.

BUT.

If the wifi goes out, the devices will not automatically reconnect. Which means I have to reconnect around 20 devices every…time…that…happens.

Unacceptable. Govee figured this out, why can’t Blisslights?!

The globes simply do not respond to BlissHome except in the most random fashion. I have four of those; setting each one to the same theme produces four separate results, none of them correct.

I also have a Blisslights Radia. That one often just crashes BlissHome entirely.

In general, BlissHome is buggy, slow, and half-baked — many options don’t work, entire sections are labeled in Chinese, and the whole thing us just sloppy.

Boooo! Fix this, Blisslights! Your lights are great, but BlissHome is terrible.

By

Great remote control app

Not sure why all the reviews are so negative. I got an Evolve and it connected within a couple minutes, no hassle at all. Gives control over schedule, timer, cloud brightness and speed, and laser brightness and speed. As well as the ability to create custom scenes.

By

Setup Took Me 2 Minutes

I’m not discounting the other reviews but, setting up BlissHome and connecting it to my Evolve was very simple - took me 2 minutes. I’m used to tech though. BlissHome is simple and straightforward - it has options to control the speed, color, and brightness of the clouds and dots. You can also customize the timer - the default is six (6) hours. BlissHome does what it’s meant to and it’s easy to use.

By

Long setup but great utility

Not sure why others are rating it so low, lazy millennials probably expect plug n play connectivity in a product that cost less than $20.
Lazy shaming aside, this is a great app to use and took less than 5 minutes to connect and to even create a few custom colors like Deep Red or my personal favorite Chili Rainbow.

By

Broken app for a garbage product

An on off switch with a style change button is all that is necessary. This bloatware app they make you download doesn’t actually do what it claim and it takes a long time for it to finally decide to work. The unit itself won’t turn off unless I unplug it as it turns itself on immediately after physically being turned off with the horrible sensitivity of their all in one button. Overall a cool device that is utterly horrible with an app that is even worse.

Trying to get it to work with google home. Have two work great. Just bought two more and now I need to have and accout/app which does not let me create an account. Idiot developers!
