Camera Does not Track

The unit that I purchased never worked from the time I took it out of the box. Specifically, it never tracked the action (Basketball). In addition, it constantly disconnects from Bluetooth, resulting in a bright blinking light that detracts players in the court. Instead of simply returning it for a refund, I made the mistake of working with tech-support. I uploaded many files, followed all of their requests and instructions to help them troubleshoot and improve the solution and device. I spent many hours working with them, all to the benefit of their company, but getting nothing in return. I finally said that I was going to return the unit, and support told me that they could handle the whole return and exchange on their end. I also believed that, and that was also a mistake. After several weeks of being promised, the new unit, I have not received any updates. Product functionality and support have been a major disappointment. I know this product works for a lot of people, but not for me, and they are not doing a good job of standing behind their product. I hope others have better luck than I did.

Useful but not reliable :(

I was a proponent of the device/app as I used it for a few AAU 11u basketball games. But this weekend the device just got stuck on a few staring on a single location and did not follow the game flow like it should have.

I have updated to 3.0 and hope this is improved. I was hesitant to returning the device after this weekend. :(.

New update is bad.

I updated my app before my daughters game and it kept losing track of the game and just maintaining focus on one end of the field. It worked much better before the update. I had to keep re-adjusting it from my watch since the two remotes you sent me don’t work either.

Needs Work

I purchased the Xbot Go Chameleon for use with 11 v 11 soccer games and the unit has a hard time keeping up with the action. Too many times it falls behind the ball and is missing crucial plays when players are moving at an accelerated pace.

The unit also seems to get distracted very easily by crowds surrounding any side of field or if another soccer ball is detected in the field of view. The last game I tried using the Chameleon in, the camera kept getting stuck on a second team warming up to the right side of field. I got so frustrated I took the camera down because it was becoming a distraction for me.

It might be that other sports camera use a cropped wide angle image to follow the action where this is physically moving based on separate AI camera. I don’t know for sure but just speculating.

I had used it in a smaller scenario for Soccer practice and it seems to handle that better but for bigger tournaments or busier games I’m not sure this will be able to keep up.

I’m hoping these things can be addressed with some future firmware updates and called out specifically if or when improved, otherwise the return on investment might not be realized.

Yeah, this was BAD. If i could return, I would.

After using this for 2 seasons with my kids' two teams, I can NOT recommend this.

There are a number of issues with this while using for basketball.
- Bluetooth disconnects a LOT, I've tried with 3 different iPhones. So while I'm coaching, all the sudden it will disconnect, stop recording and then just kinda droop there sadly as it no longer tracks. Worse is that sometimes it will flash the camera light as warning. Imagine a game going on and there's a cell phone cam on a tripod w a strobing light pointed at the court/players/officials.
- Tracking is slooooow. If you're team that pushes and gets a lot of fastbreaks, you'll miss the action as it tries to catch up to the other side of the court.
- it doesn't pan over far enough. for coaching, I need to see where all the players are on the court and what they are doing. So not only is the panning slow, but a lot of players will get cropped out.

For now, I prefer to stick a camera on a tripod and place it at the end of the court w a wide angle. Then move to the other end at halftime when they change sides. I ONLY use this if there's not enough baseline space.

Unfortunately, you only realize these issues after using it for a bit and then that takes you past the return dates. I would return if I could.

Great idea but lacks the technology

I’ve had this product for a year and a half. My kids only play soccer. I’ve recorded 7v7 and 9v9. The video quality is descent. The tracking lacks the technology. When the teams are bunched up it tracks nicely. But when both teams hold their shape the camera fails to track properly. It’s also slow to track as the play moves from one end to the other and it misses the scoring opportunities and goals.
The Idea is great but lacks when it comes to capturing the action and the important parts of the game.

So so

I would say the xbot is decent but needs a reliable tracking system for games when you are focused on one person and also I would say add a volleyball mode, and also jersey number even though I know it is in beta just doesn’t work at all

Still on the fence

Purchased the unit. It doesn’t work with all the phones as stated with my experience. I have asked it with both iPhone and Samsung phones and found it to be 75% tracking correctly on the basketball. But with IPhone X it’s at like 30%. Works ok with iPhone 11.

Good now, potential to be great

I have recorded 4 soccer games so far. Here are my thoughts.
1. Tracking is good, not great. Movement tends to be a bit fast and jerky and sometimes overshoots the action. Slowing down and smoothing out the tracking would go a long way in improving this.
2. App stops recording if it is forced into background, like if a text or phone call comes through. The worst part of this is it doesn’t seem to save what has been recorded up to that point. I have lost 2 halves of games due to this.
3. Minor gripe here but app doesn’t support wide angle lens on the iPhone. That would be a potential upgrade I think.

Overall I have been pleased. Better hands free option than any other option aside from spending several hundred dollars. Hoping some of the weak points will be addressed in future updates.

Connecting issues, shutting down recording, battery life

The only issue I have with this product is it shutdown a few time when recording. When recording a basketball game I had to guide the rotation back towards the full count view when it would rotate beyond Court view. Lastly on a full charge it will use up a lot of battery life when recording. The life expectancy will barely get a full day worth of recording

The Game is no longer the FOCOS

I must say I’m truly impressed with this gadget and app for the most part. I have 4 kids all National club basketball players so I’ve already gotten tons of use with this gimbal. I must say I’ve went from different methods of how to use as for what to mount to where etc. I’ve found for me and everyone else in the gym loves to just see it set up on the tripod center court and walked away from. I won’t say you get 100% of the game but 80-85% which may be more then I get holding and trying to follow the game not enjoying it at all… the only thing that has not been alway but I’ve notice my last few recording is that a glitch had started to occur and show in the recording. I’m sure this they can fix but overall 99 I have to give out what and where to find this thing 5-10 time a game.

Food for the price

I’ve been using this for few months now. It has a lot of issues at beginning but has gotten a lot better recently. Since the new update of XbotGo , the tracking feels more natural and doesn’t move as fast from one side to the other. Keep improving!!!

Nice Jimbal

The best of this Jimbal is the Fallow me 2.0 technology and is for AI not Doub to get it. Today I record my son's soccer games with this great tool perfect for creators of content.

Great app

Very easy to use and set up right out of the box. Pairs every time with the hardware and records our games really well for our needs.

Excellent

Hands down the best product to record my child's games! Works as it should and is a very reasonable price. If you could add a pause button it would be even better!

Consistent updates

Very happy to continue seeing updates to XbotGo and device. Keep it coming!

Great product with upside potential

I purchased the gimbal and have used XbotGo to record my daughter’s last few soccer games. While not perfect, it does a very good job tracking the action - particularly if a 10 foot tripod is used. The tracking sometimes misses, but the developers seem to be intent on constantly improving performance.

Other then those they expect this to match the tracking of veo, this product and app will not disappoint.

Also works for Ultimate Frisbee

The results handling teams sports like ultimate frisbee are amazing. It sometimes gets confused because in ultimate frisbee after every point just like in football teams go to opposing sides but a small nudge via the Apple Watch app or remote control and all is well.

Would love to get an internal scoreboard feature and clean HDMI but overall 5 out of 5 stars!

Been using it for little over a year

I’ve experienced the gimbal freezing, not tracking, flashing reminds, but over the course of a year recording both soccer and basketball, it is still highly recommended by me. Sometimes you have to unpair and pair back, delete and download XbotGo again, but generally it works well.

I wish XbotGo makers would add the following:
1) Record at 60 frames per second. iPhone supports it so just include that as well.

2) remove watermark (please)!

3) Auto highlight generator. Or some additional insight in the video file where made baskets or goals happened. Depends on the sports, but basketball made basket seems easy first.

Expecting Perfection?

Any tech that relieves me from screen watching my kid having fun is awesome! At the price no comparison. Complaints on socials: check your tone before posting. Real people in the company trying to help and are overwhelmed with requests. Is it perfect? No. It’s progress! To Blink Tech thanks for your efforts, my parents can’t attend and appreciate the live streaming!
