I have sold past dated tickets without any issues before, but I sold a past dated ticket to someone, who wanted to scam me out of my ticket by requesting a refund even though he used my orchestra ticket to watch a great Broadway show for 1/4 of the box office price. Anyone who knows anything about theatre knows that when you past date your original ticket, the box office gives you a comp ticket for that day, which I sold for less than the original price I paid and was 1/4 the box office price for that orchestra ticket. The buyer complained for no reason and Theatr suspended me without even checking the details with me. They also falsely claimed that I have never posted proof of purchase, which is absolutely not true, and when I asked to see examples of that and I would send evidence of my original proof of purchase, they just ignored me. It’s also been over a week and I still haven’t received the money from my ticket sale. I’ve reported them to the Better Business Bureau for holding my money and also for lying to me and not showing me examples of how I violated their terms when I have always sold my tickets for much less than regular box office prices. I also asked them what should I do to sell a past dated ticket since they had an issue with that and they wouldn’t respond. This is the worst customer service I ever experienced and to blatantly lie to me is infuriating.

The idea of Theatr is amazing! I’ve recommended it to a ton of friends. However, lately when I receive notifications, tickets are almost always sold even if I tap on them right away. I just received a notification at 2:04am EST, tapped it immediately, and it’s been sold. Maybe someone actually snagged the ticket, but something tells me there is a delay in pushing notifications to all users. Would be happy to be proved wrong but right now it’s been pretty frustrating.

I loved Theatr and as a student on a budget I really appreciated the option of waiting until the very last minute to get a good deal on tickets that would have otherwise gone to waste. The lowest price that I was mainly allowed to drop to was $30. Yet, now there seems to be an option for sellers to set the lowest they’re willing to go from the start which reduces buyers’ negotiating power. Please fix this and let us bargain! That was part of the magic for Theatr.

I’ve been following along with this crew since its inception on Instagram. While Theatr is very much still a work in progress (and their team is up front about that), it has evolved improved so much already. The team behind this program strive to do their best to protect users and ensure the best experience and make theatre more accessible—a huge goal of so many of us theatre lovers. And even with Theatr ’s imperfections as they continue to be ironed out, I absolutely recommend and support Theatr and team.

Was able to get a face value ticket to Sweeney Todd which was amazing. I love that I can set alerts on certain shows. A few improvements would be for Theatr to remember settings so I don’t always have to filter to Available Tix in the marketplace. Maybe it would be nice if it let you hide shows already seen. I’d be wary sending money to someone online so I like that they introduced a more protected marketplace. Glad to not have to give money to stubhub and Ticketmaster resale etc!

I work in Times Square for a Broadway company, am in an off broadway show 4 nights a week and STILL feel like I’m not always in tune with everything going on in Broadway around me, so I’m SO thankful I can set notifications to get last minute tickets to everything I haven’t seen yet. Bouta be ballin on a budget with Theatr.

If you live in NY, this is a great way to score last minute deals on theater tickets. You can set alerts for the shows (& price points) you are interested in, the UI is extremely straightforward, and there’s no hidden fees or price gouging. I even got a free ticket to an off Broadway show I have been dying to see.

Great app and service! I’ve used the this app app multiple times since discovering it to get amazing deals on last minute shows. I’ve also had luck selling a ticket I no longer needed. It’s a good network of people that get it, and the site feels quite secure. If you lose a lottery, there’s a great chance this app will have a deal for you!

Theatr truly is great, and has gotten better with updates after devs took into consideration what their users were looking for both in U.I and to better help the community. What’s even nicer is if you live in NYC, there’s a possibility that you end up with a new Broadway buddy that you wouldn’t have found otherwise :)

The developers of Theatr are really wonderful, listen to feedback, make sure that everything is as secure as they can get it. Yes there are bugs here and there but every time I use Theatr (and it is often!!!) I always find what I’m looking for easily and if I need help it is just around the corner. Would recommend for all theater lovers!!!

I absolutely LOVE Theatr. I have bought and sold many tickets on Theatr and it’s great. I appreciate that you can’t sell your ticket for more than you paid, that way it helps keep the prices a little bit lower. I also like the new feature where you can buy directly through Theatr and don’t have to go through all of the back-and-forth with the seller/buyer.

Provides an amazing opportunity for people to see shows at an affordable price. I have bought and purchased tickets numerous times and have not had a bad experience. Since initially getting Theatr so many improvements and updates have been made, the team responds to questions/feedback quickly. This is my favorite app on my phone!

As an avid theatre goer who bus tickets well in advance Theatr has helped me sell my tickets to others on two occasions when something came up that prevented me from using tickets I’d purchased. I love that price-gouging doesn’t happen and feel happy to know that my tickets are going to someone who will enjoy them rather than leaving an empty seat at the show.

The interface is very user friendly and I love that the buyers now pay via Theatr to help weed out any potential scammers or ticket withholdings.

It’s so rare to find an app that you feel secure selling & buying from but this app has provided that certainty from the very beginning. I personally have never had an issue and have met some amazing theater goers by buying and selling through Theatr. They’re constantly updating it with better features and making it easy to manage. Great app, recommend for anyone that loves to see shows!

for people in nyc or ANYWHERE this is the most reliable and respectable resale app out there for broadway shows. have gotten countless tickets through this app and each time the person on the other side of the phone has been so easy, helpful and efficient. i've seen some huge shows day off, great price, and perfect seat. so glad an app like this was made and would 1000% recommend for theater goers on a budget.

I appreciate that Theatr exists at all but I do wish that aside from price point alerts you could adjust alerts based on seat location. For example we have someone in our family who can’t safely navigate balconies, someone else who needs aisle seats, etc. It would be so nice to only get alerts for seats we can use. But I have no idea if that’s even possible, and like I said, Theatr is great as-is.

This is a great app to sell those tickets that end up in your hands because you or a friend can’t go to the show anymore.
Beware of scammers, as they always happen on apps like this. The latest updates are giving you more safety mechanisms to avoid being scammed. I already got a ticket via Theatr and sold a ticket. All went well just fine!
It is New York, so leave notifications on and run to be the first one who reaches out for a tickets. The sell fast!
