I had a banking account with Level and then I guess switched to this this app company. Not even a month after the switch this app took half my money my job deposited into my account and won’t repay it back so let’s me know this is a fraudulent checking app. Guy from this app was nice and tried to help me with this issue but I’m sure it wasn’t able to be accomplished to keep his job. No management ever got back to me or even attempted to make up my money they took out of my account. It just shows it gone but not asa withdrawal or a transaction just gone and any company that feels they do not owe an explanation and immediate action when a customer has this kind of an issue I would have to say isn’t a good business person or a good business so I give Avant a total thumbs down for stealing from its own customers and I’m sure doesn’t last long for the shady poor business performed

Cancelled my account in the middle of me trying to get rent together because of 'suspicious activity' even AFTER I called them first thing in the morning to confirm it was me. I'mma just stick with Current. DO NOT USE THEM. I rarely leave reviews but this incident warrented it.

this app bought out Level Bank, which was really awesome. They gave up to 1.5% cash back on debit purchases and had great features and support.
Now Avant doesn’t work and there are no cash back benefits. You can even transfer money out, it’s like they’re holding it. this app is really a terrible, terrible company. You can’t even talk to support and upload a screenshot because they have no idea how to build or support Avant .
What a failure and massive letdown.

I put my money on my account thinking I could use my virtual card like everywhere else but no they don’t tell you the virtual card can’t be used literally anywhere in person nor could I use it online for anything cashapp paypal Apple Pay Venmo and it says you can use it online to order but no you actually can’t not Walmart or any store online the virtual card is only for looks on Avant and IT CANT BE USED IF YOU NEED ACCESS TO YOUR MONEY THEN DONT USE Avant ID GIVE NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD

Usually when a bigger bank/company takes over a smaller one, it makes the product better. This is not the case, I don’t use bright idea was to take all the good features from Level Banking, but they need to be let go. Level was more than a bank, it was for the people. this app’s product is bleek compared to what we had before, I will be closing my account. There are 5-6 way better alternatives.

I takes forever to log me in and then stay at a screen but has none of my account information and there is nothing to click on. Cannot access anything on my account from Avant.

This bank is in a 3rd world. I have have numerous issues with this bank and there customer service is ridiculously horrible. They don’t speak English nor do they act prompt on fraudulent charges. I have my account hacked and they did nothing to assist! BEware and Bank at an establish bank like Chase, Wells Fargo, Capitol one etc….

Credit card autopsy was billed twice for two accounts. They won’t reimburse temporarily or fix the error like any other bank. Look up this company that acquired Level you’ll figure out they’re very shady

App DOES NOT display correct payment due amount. I called the customer service number on the card, which routes to some
3rd world country call center.
The agent advised that Avant displays correct information 2 days after my statement closing date of the 5th each month. Today is the 7th and it is wrong, not what the agent advised. It shows the entire balance as the minimum payment.
Obviously the agent provided inaccurate information and they cannot provide accurate information either in Avant or by calling customer service. What a worthless bank.

Don’t make the mistake of using this app. I made my payment, the payment posted and was removed from my bank account and then was told by them it will take 10 calendar days for it to reflect on my this app account and have access to any funds. This left me stranded in another state as I had paid this card off to be able to use it on my trip. Then I was told on 3 different days that a supervisor would call me because they apparently have none ever available and not to my surprise no one ever reached out. These people are a joke and their customer service is atrocious. Don’t bother signing up with them.

their system will not let you upload an ID photo -it repeatedly gives an error to use another browser, but when you do that, it tells you to try a different browser, and this cycle applies to all versions of browsers. All of the browsers they recommend are version numbers that are ages ago, like Safari 11.2 (Safari 17.6.1 is the current version). Then their technical support simply blames the user without ever actually interacting with you. I know computers, and i know it’s not a problem on my end. All foreigners and obscene interest rates and fees.

Not able to use the card unless you call first. When you get mad for not being able to use your credit card all they do is say they can’t control the declines or approvals for transactions but it’s showing an error for the card user input. They never take responsibility or try to fix the issue. You have to stand there and ask permission for your card to work. Even when there’s 3 times the amount of available credit from the total your spending. All they do is say it’s your fault and try the transaction again.

I honestly NEVER review things. It’s gotta be amazing or horrible for me to waste my time.
I’ve only had the card long enough for one payment cycle and I paid it off completely.
My payment shows and it’s been taken out of the bank I used to make the payment but it’s still showing I only have $1 available to spend.
I called and spoke to someone and I guess their policy is that it takes 7-10 business days after the payment has posted to show your actual available credit to use. That’s nearly half a month! So now it’s just going to be a card that sits there and doesn’t get used.
Yay for my already crappy credit score!

I do not like Avant because I have to call Avent to change personal information and when I call the change it in there system but it doesn’t change in Avant and all I was trying to do is change my old phone number to my new phone number and when I talked too someone on the phone I couldn’t understand them and they would never say when the change where going to be and I had one person hang up on me and I called them three times and I don’t understand if they can change it in the system why not in Avant but the can call me when they want there money and they sure don’t waste their time taking my money and they do tell you that they are going to give you a increase on your card either so why can’t they just work with you when you want to update you phone number

This is a very useless company! They approve you for a credit card and then they call you. So when I return the call they have no idea why I’m even calling. I informed them they left me a message to call. So at this point it’s very hard to understand the person you’re speaking with. I repeat myself probably for a good 30 minutes. The person on the other end has no idea what I’m saying. I then asked for a manager at least five times I get no manager then it shows up on my credit report that it’s active but also canceled so then I give them a call to today asking them what’s going on and they informed me it was canceled but don’t have a reason why but they’ll send me an email once again I don’t understand what they’re saying as far as when the emails coming, I asked the lady over and over still had no idea what she was saying. So I just went on the BBB to file a complaint about this company. It’s very sad that they appear on Credit Karma because they are giving them a bad name!

I’ve had this card since 2020 and I started with a 300 limit and now all these years later I’m only at 1000. Back then I was all excited because I was rebuilding my credit and they were willing to give me a chance. I don’t carry a balance in fact it’s been paid off everytime. I called this morning because I needed to update my address and I read it off to the guy and he reads it back to me correctly and then I refresh Avant and realize he has me in a completely different city and state that I said. I had to call to update my address and it was still put in incorrectly. I try my best not to have to call in because I can barely understand what anybody is saying. What I did ask him hey how do I go about a credit line increase because they’re charging $100 for an annual fee for the smallest balance that I have and he says they periodically do it and they will let me know when they’re ready. Not even worth the hard inquiry or the annual fee. Luckily this isn’t my oldest card so I am most likely going to close this account and go for something better.

My bank has switched to Visa Debit Cards. Not CREDIT CARDS but a Debit card. Your system will not accept my Debit Card issued by my bank to pay my bill. My bank does not have an option for a debit card, I must use what they offer. It is not my fault your system cannot tell the difference in a debit card and credit card. This makes it difficult for me to pay my bill because I do not want you to have my bank account numbers to just take money. I used my bank today to make a payment because this app is ruining my credit with late payments and is increasing my balance charging me fees for being over the limit and late. This is your fault not mine. I am more than angry about all this and after 7 phone calls I have found that this app really doesn’t care about my as a customer, it’s about getting paid. I am told this app is never going to accept Visa debit cards and that I just need to find a way to pay my bill. I love my this app card and do not want to cancel it and I have no problem paying my bill, but this app needs to accept my debit card.

First of all you can barely understand their customer service. I have been trying to get my card fixed for a week. I paid off the balance and it shows I only have six dollars in credit on the card. I’ve been dealing with this for a week now and all they have is excuses,the systems down,they fixed it, but they really didn’t fix it because I got rejected at the cashier. trying to get a hold of a manager or anybody that remotely knows what is going on is impossible.

I’ve had this card for over 3 years or so, recently they raised my credit limit (on their own accord). I utilized the extra credit and have continued to make payments on time. Today, I received notice that they are hiking my APR AND charging me a monthly maintenance fee. So I went from being such a good customer that they raised my limit without me even asking to now apparently I need to be punished with higher fees?!!! What?! Now I will just pay it off completely and never charge another dime to it probably just close it altogether! Makes no sense!

First off if you make one late payment they will NEVER increase your credit line or even excuse your late fee. I paid off the card last month and closed the account some how I’m still being charged interest or an annual fee idk what it is but 6.50 for an account that’s paid off in full and closed it crazy. I’ve been a member since September 2020 almost 4 years and I will always warn against this app. I forgot to mention the customer service reps, barely speak. Understandable English so there’s always a misunderstanding.

When my account got hacked and people were trying to take my money from my actually account I called them and they were like I can’t do anything for you if it goes through it goes through. Would not pass me to a manager until 2 hours later and then sent me another card cause I reported fraud for the old one then never shows up then when I ask they ask me that I needed to prove it was me who had called even thou I had updated my address prior to the cancellation of the first card.

Transfer times are extremely slow. 3 business days for a bank to bank transfer is very outdated. Will not continue to use this as there are much better options.

I try to use the card for a purchase online and the card is constantly declined because of “fraud”. It doesn’t matter how many times I call and tell them to remember the account or unlock and keep it unlocked they continue to decline it. I find that very annoying especially in a time frame where most everything is purchased online. The card works no problem at the register. It is only when purchasing online.

Can’t update my phone number in Avant and even though I’ve called customer service (which is a joke at best) they apparently can’t change it on Avant either. I applied for this card through credit karma which says credit line of 1,000-2,500 but my credit limit was $300 and they charged the yearly fee on my first statement so it is the box my credit limit was only $225. Definitely not worth the headache and risking my credit that I am working to rebuild due to this app utilizing Shay at best practices and policies.

I’m getting real tired of the unacceptable amount of human support these companies are resorting to these days. When you go to the customers help section and there is only a frequently asked questions and no phone number or live chat to seek real support that is a sleaze amount of customer service. If I have to Google your dam support number and it’s not already on your app, you are providing a super negative support system.

I found the process fairly easy. I received the card in a timely manner. Had a little trouble getting it activated but I wasn’t on hold for more than a few minutes. Used the card right away. Considering I let most of my credit be tied to my husbands and didn’t seek more after he died 9 years ago, I was fairly lucky to get a card in my retirement years.

I have had this card for about 2 years. I have not had any problems. They also gave me a credit increase. So far I am satisfied with card. I gave 4 stars because i don’t like the Annual Fee. My fee is not high, but after showing that I pay on time I feel fee should be dropped. I have another card that’s better with no fee. Don’t won’t to hurt credit by canceling this card. May consider though. Customer Service is easy to get through and very nice.

Why does the main page of Avant only show payments? When I open up Avant to see my card, the first page should show recent transactions (to include recent payments). Every other credit card app does this. I can navigate with a couple clicks to see recent transactions, but it should be the on the main page. Other than that Avant works fine, but this seems like a huge oversight.

So far so good with this app. Clean design, simple to use. I had an issue initially being able to use the card but customer service was able to take care of it quickly. I just tried to connect it with Apple Pay though and it didn’t work, that is probably the only reason for dropping a star, as being able to use my cards on apps like that and Cashapp, PayPal, etc. is very important to me.

Just grateful at another opportunity to grow and learn. However, I just paid my account in full, Avant says my credit is $300, but said available $30. I called and was told that it takes 5-7 days. I tried to use the card and it was declined! That kinda messed me up! But overall… I’m still grateful that I have been given another blessing of a lil credit in 2024! 🙏👍

this app is a great place to get a loan. I had a loan with this app a few years ago but I haven’t been able to get another one. I thought that since I paid the first loan off that it would be easier to get another but I was wrong. I think this app is awesome.

My wife got cancer and with everything I’m trying to do with her it put me in a bind. I’m a good honest man just ran into financial issues because of her situation.

I am making a payment on my account and it is coming out of my checking account the same day but it is not posting to my account for 2 days even though they have taken the money out. Also using the this app card for a hotel reservation hold this app holds your money for 5 business days after you have checked out of the hotel. Not a good policy.

I think Avant is Still in development and still has some more improvements to have been made don’t worry ever thing and every feature that Level had will be migrating over to level it will take time due to the systems that needed to be upgraded

No issues at all. Have had this card about a year. Started with a $3,000 limit and I thought that was as high as they would go ever. To my surprise I received a credit limit increase today. All on time payments and keep my balance between zero and 20% of my credit limit.

Avant update was the most ridiculous and stupidest way to do it ever. I cannot believe they actually paid people to update it. If you already have an account they are not updating but built a whole new app. Trying to get your account open is stolid and they tried getting a new account number and activate a card I do not have. Absolutely obnoxious.

My first loan with this app pays off tomorrow. The process has been easy from the start and any time I’ve had to call customer service, they have been helpful and respectful! Would definitely recommend if you don’t have perfect credit but need a personal loan.
