Sadly Disappointed

I purchased three lamps as a Christmas gift (and in remembrance of my mom’s birthday) for my younger siblings and I to feel connected. We lost our parents and we live in three different parts of the country. We’ve tried multiple times to set up and connect the lamps and unfortunately have had no luck. It’s been 9 months and between conflicting schedules, different time zones, and simply being frustrated, we have yet to connect our lamps.

I was really excited when I made this purchase, but am sadly disappointed that it has been this difficult to get them to work. Especially considering the fact it was not an inexpensive purchase, but more importantly, we really were excited for what these lamps could do for us being so far apart (Florida, Texas, & Arizona). I’m 31 years old and my siblings are 22 and 23, so I can’t imagine how frustrating this is for older folks that aren’t so great at troubleshooting etc. I will try again to get our lamps to connected, and am really hoping that something will give and they will magically work. I hope others are having better luck than we are.

Worst app experience ever

I’ve given LuvLink at least a month, probably two months now. No. I do not recommend the product or LuvLink designed to work with the lamp - doesn’t work. I’m tech savvy, my family has a set of lamps & they’re tech savvy too. We live in the city with high up/down speeds and we have to reset minimum daily to reconnect and send lights. No. The worst spend of over $400. LuvLink will send the colors if your lamp is offline (offline often), but the receiving lamps need to be online to show the color which is barely ever the case. No. Don’t do it. I wish I’d trusted the negative reviews I read before making this purchase; I thought they were just complainers. No, waste of $ and time doing daily resets. My niece & nephew are 3 & 6 and this was to stay connected with them. We’re not receiving each other’s messages or lights (got the infinity lamps with voice).

Garbage

My girlfriend and I got the lamps since we’re long distance, but were at my place when they arrived. Setting up an account was the first difficulty. We both had to use multiple email accounts to complete that process and now receive daily emails to the email that wasn’t good enough for LuvLink . Then, my girlfriend went home, taking her lamp with her, and now cannot get her lamp to connect. Customer service was able to help add her lamp to the group but it’s sitting in “pending” status with no way to admit it to our group.
Additionally, after a power outage, I had to go through the entire setup process again. Completely ridiculous and frankly unacceptable. Save your money and send a text or pick up the phone!

I’m sure it will be fun if you can ever get it set up.

My daughter got this for us. I’m a tech literate person and found it extremely frustrating to set up. My son-in-law also had trouble. I finally got it to work before we left her house (we were on her wifi there). Got home and of course need to connect to our wifi. There are NO instructions on how to do this. No where on your profile to change wifi. So it sits on the counter useless until someone gets back to me. So frustrating and unnecessarily complicated. It needs to be much easier. Especially if you expect older adults to be able to use it.

Not so sure

I was so very excited when my grandchildren have this to me for Christmas this year. 2022! It took us a week to set up. I get an email promising to be able to do more with LuvLink if i do an update. Well, nothing happened New. Would be nice if we could get new notifications on our phone. We are not always at home to see what has been sent. For the price of this unit we could have just sent a text. I love you. Instead of a computer i don’t get to see. When 6 colors have been used you are done. It does not let the group customize New comes. So disappointed in a process that could be exciting and new.

Infinity Voice Lamp

We had the original lamps but for mothers n law we got her the Infinity Voice Lamp. With her grandkids going off to college and everybody’s lives so busy we thought it would be cool if she could at least hear our voices every now and then. But the problem is we can’t send her any voice messages bc we have the original lamps. I assumed we would be able to thru LuvLink by recording messages from LuvLink and sending it to her Infinity Voice Lamp. Can y’all please add this feature to LuvLink soon??

Lamps are super cool app could be better

We just got these because my sister is moving across the county. The lamps are super cool but i feel like LuvLink could be better. I wish i stored the notifications you get from the other lamps so you can see that in LuvLink . The notifications don’t always come through on your phone and if you don’t have your phone in your hand you and are not near the lamp you could miss it. I am not a super huge fan of notifications on my phone. So it would be nice to be able to open LuvLink and see that the people who you are connected with sent you 3 communications with the lamp or whatever. Also i wish LuvLink had a way of letting you know if the lamp was connected to the wifi or not but it doesn’t tell you after you have connected so i potentially see that as a problem. Just my thoughts.

Still needs improvements

I have had to reset my lamps three times and I had to log in to make an account all three times, the set up for the lamp is incredibly hard it says that something is wrong with my internet and when I check my internet it says everything is fine and when it does say my internet is fine and let’s me continue to but when I try to connect to the apps network it says I’m unable to join and won’t tell me why. I would say that the set up could be much, much, much more easier than it is now. Please fix this I love LuvLink when I don’t have to set it up but when I’m not able to set it up it really gets annoying.

Expensive… but fun.

This lamp is a fun concept but very expensive given very limited functionality. They need to work on their price point. Sending color changes from the lamp itself is VERY difficult as the single touch plate is finicky. Sending color changes from LuvLink is not possible as you need to change the color on LuvLink and STILL touch the lamp to send the color change to your friend. It would be nice if it was easier to send and receive either totally from the lamp or totally from LuvLink with ease. Sadly this is not the case. Bottom line: love the connection with my best friend, wish it was better implemented and hadn’t cost her quite so much!

Concept is great except…

I got this for my 4yr old gbaby on other coast. The 3 hr time difference makes it hard to be home at the same time to see when one of us touches the lamp. I set an alarm to touch it at her bedtime from LuvLink , but there are ZERO notifications to know when she has touched it. Not in iPhone notifications and not even in LuvLink . I have emailed endlessly about this and basically keep getting told the notifications work. They do not…they don’t even exist. I cannot even see what color her lamp is on LuvLink which would at least let me know if she touched it. So disappointed…she is 4yrs old. She doesn’t understand there is a time difference or app issues. The only time we can use it is if we are both next to our lamps at the same time, which is almost impossible. I have $5 smart plugs I can control with more ease and clarity from across the country.

Could use more functions / be more user friendly

The tap/hold/release to send colors leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes it simply doesn’t work. The only thing mine consistently does well, regarding touch, is tapping once. Everything else is done in-app, which is somehow less “special”. I can interact a million different ways with my phone, I’d like to interact more using just the lamp.

There is an option to send “messages” by labeling colors in LuvLink with the message one wants to send. Being able to add a lighting effect to the colors would expand the amount of messages one could send exponentially.

Super fun for me and my friends but I’d like to see an update!

It’d be awesome if there was some sort of notification history tab in LuvLink so I can see prior color codes sent. I get them in the notification banners but sometimes I accidentally clear them before I look at all of them! :(

Another issue is the tap feature on my lamp seems to have stopped working. I tried to leave and re-enter the group after resetting the lamp and nothing! They’re lots of fun but a little finicky.

I love it, but one thing..

I got the lamp for Christmas from my best friend. I tried connecting LuvLink with the lamp but when i tried to make an account my whole screen would just turn purple and would stay like that. So i kinda gave up. I tried connecting it to my moms phone and it worked properly. So i had to use my moms phone for this app for awhile (which she did not really like) and I got a new phone. So i’ve recently tried connecting it again (on my phone) and it worked! I’ve enjoyed LuvLink so much ever since. The reason i gave it 4 stars was because of the connecting issues i had. (maybe it was my older phone…?) but yeah that’s about it! My friends and I have many color codes and is on this app 24/7. Its awesome!

Very cute, but…

I love this concept. I’m not a phone talker and don’t always get to catch up with my sisters. We each have one. A suggestion, I wish it did a push notification that let you know when someone tapped their light bc I’m on the go a lot. I feel like I miss a lot of light ups.

The concept is super sweet

I love this concept. I am able to keep in contact with my hubby without distracting him from all that he is doing. On the hard days, it is especially helpful to send a quick "note" and let him know I love him.

That said, the execution is a bit buggy. My default color changes on its own and I don't know why. The color codes are lovely. But you have too many steps in order to access them, which doesn't really make sense. Twice my lamp has randomly reset and adding it back to the group isn't simple. The same has happened at other times with my husband's. I had to figure out a "cheat" so that I wasn't having to request to be added back every time.

All that aside, it's still a really cute concept. The program itself just needs a bit of tweaking.

Extremely happy!

So happy with my lamp. I’m not able to be with my dearest friend since childhood because of distance. This was the best purchase and it is worth the money. I had a small issue getting it set up but customer service was very patient and helpful, it was set up and working in no time at all. Now my friend and I know when we’re thinking about each other. Get the lamp if you can’t be with someone you care about! ❤️

Terrible gift for elderly parent

* See update below: Do your parents know how to troubleshoot WiFi networks and how to reconfigure iot devices?? When it works my mom loves it but once a month or more we have to go through the entire setup process again. It’s a nightmare.
* Update: The developers for this product reached out directly to assist with our issues. Being an IT guy myself I was happy to oblige and get to the bottom of the issues. After a couple weeks of back and forth messages and lots of creative troubleshooting steps we threw in the towel or lap at the wall. Not really. this app is sending a replacement lamp. I still think the product is a great idea and has a ways to go in the development and testing phases but adjusting review from 1 to 3 stars for fantastic customer service. Thx

I Feel Loved

My daughter lives across the US, and for my birthday she got me the this app. I had a little difficulty setting it up, but I was victorious. I have the lamp on the edge of my counter in the kitchen. I can see it from my bedroom, and living room. This morning before I got out of bed, it was glowing at me. It warmed my heart that my daughter touched it and I saw and felt it before she left for work. She identified the red light saying, “I love you” I Love this

Best customer service ever!!!

I bought 2 friendship lamps for myself and my bestie and we love our lamps. When I moved apts my lamp wouldn’t connect to the new WiFi. I emailed customer support and they replied quickly. We went to go back and forth a few times over a couple of days but Jessa was very patient, kind and help me resolve the issue with no problem. It was the best customer service experience I’ve ever had over email. I will definitely be buying more lamps in the future!

My LuvLink Lamp

I live on the East Coast and my son lives in the Midwest. My lamp was one of the most thoughtful gifts I’ve ever received. It keeps me and my son close and every time he changes the color of my lamp it makes me smile. I’ve had some Internet issues and anytime I’ve had a problem the this app support team has been amazing! Always helpful and patient especially given my technology challenges. I love my lamp!

From LuvLink To Shining LuvLink

The happy and utter simplicity that is this app! We’re a family of four; mom, dad, and our two grown daughters. Our oldest bought us each one of these to keep connected in a fun “light” way :) She lives in New Jersey, and our youngest lives in Georgia, and we live in Florida. So although it’s not quite as far as Sea to Shining Sea as the title of the review alludes to :) this app still keeps us happily connected in a simple comforting way that all four of us have been regularly using now for over a year. We text on our phones and FaceTime too of course, but it’s the little way that the light makes you feel loved and connected when you see it light up and know that person is thinking of you…💙🧡💚🩷 The Triplett Family

The lamp lights up in your family’s home when you press your corresponding this app device.. Different colors correspond to different meanings.. it is a great way to let your loved ones know that you’re thinking about them.. really a great product

Friendship/Love Lamps

Hi! What an Awesome product this is! My entire family is connected and adding additional members! It started out with just my 3 & 5 year old grands and we communicated in the AM and during the PM often! We live in different states! Soon my daughter found herself tapping it also! Now my husband and two older grands, 14 and 16, have one. Our Love is truly shining! After posting my 5 year old video responding to my tap, friends are now asking about the lamps! Such a beautiful way to let others know you are thinking about them! ♥️♥️♥️😊

Incredible customer service!

My boyfriend bought the this app lamps for my birthday before we parted ways for college. We were so excited to be able to have another fun and cute way to connect! Unfortunately, after we set them up individually at our homes, they would not connect to each other. I sent a comment and received an email not too long after. After sharing the problem, Jessa was able to fix our laps! We have not stopped using them since! It is such a wonderful product and such a thoughtful gift for a loved one! Not to mention the customer service is impeccable! 10/10 recommend!

All connected in difficult times!

For Christmas 2021 my daughter purchased lamps for me (mom) and her sister and herself because it was our very first Christmas apart… what an incredible gift! I fell in Luv!

However, in 2022, my mother who is an enormous fixture in our lives became horribly sick. With the distance and the girls wanting to expand our this app group we added their Oma… my mom. When doing this we were introduced to LuvLink with her new lamp! LuvLink as well as a little help from the tech support at this app helped us to get connected! We love being able to change color on app and even see active lamps in our group!! LuvLink is a game changer from 2021!! We all are in Luv!!

Great for struggling service members

I purchased two of these lamps for a friend of mine struggling with her own demons and didn’t expect it to impact my own life as much as it did. After a deployment I found myself withdrawing from friends and family, intentionally avoiding phone calls and interaction. These lamps are so unobtrusive and soothing, they don’t require any commitment or have any expectations. It’s become a passive form of thought sharing with my bestie and I, seeing the lamp light up in her color brings me easy peace knowing she’s thinking about me. When I tap the lamp so she’ll know she’s on my mind, it’s a burst of wholesomeness that chips away at the little walls I was building up. I love them and they’re worth every dollar.

Love it

My best friend and I live 12 hours apart and these lamps have been an awesome way to say “hey I’m thinking about ya” on a busy day when calling/texting isn’t an option. We had some trouble with set up but we figured it out relatively quickly. The only complaint I have is that is always has to be plugged in. Batteries would be better for us as outlets are limited in my house and hers. Other than that these lamps are pretty dang cool- I smile every time I walk in the room and it’s lit up.
