this app! I am SO hesitant to give yet another app my data and login details. Isn’t part of the reason why so many users are loyal to WordPress that everything at least appears to be ‘in house’?
I am trying to REDUCE how many companies have my personal data and / or access to my life. I will look up why this change happened but my first impulse is that is a nail in the coffin for my 15 year loyalty to Wordpress if the way to access my blog now requires me to hand my data to this app.
I’ll have to educate myself on the this app/Wordpress motivations for this change but I will also look for an alternative option for hosting all of my websites as a backup to forced migration of my functionality and data from one to another company.
Why fix something that from a user perspective wasn’t broken?

I’m not sure why this app felt the need to make an app independent of Wordpress and force Wordpress users to swap to a secondary app for things that are available within Wordpress and are tied directly to Wordpress. this app exists within the Wordpress ecosystem, there’s no reason for it to exist independently. I use this app for Wordpress site stats, why would I want this app to be independent of Wordpress? I hate having to have two apps to run my sites, especially since I can’t seem to get into the this app app with my Wordpress credentials. This whole thing makes zero sense and it might be time to find a new plug in to handle my stats on Wordpress. I’m sure there are others that know who and what made them what they are and aren’t trying to make the user experience unbearable.

Jetpack started off great but the more that I wanted to customize my blog the more I started to not like this application. For example, allow me to add spaces by enter instead of new boxes, allow me to enter in colors in the pinwheel, allow me to save colors, allow easier methods of inputting links and videos.
This application also doesn’t ever want to load headers, or gifs or videos in preview…that’s where you do editing so this makes no sense. Good for bare mins basics but horrible application for any kind of real designing.

Stats were being stripped out of the old Wordpress app I had been using for years, so I was forced to migrate to this one. It offers no new functionality I have found yet. It changed everything to awful shade of neon green. That’s the only change I have seen. If I could change it to another color I’d keep it, but I don’t think you can.
Forced obsolescence is bad enough without locking users in to a horrible color scheme. I’ll go back to the web interface.

I’ve used lots of apps, good and bad, and almost NEVER have I taken the time to write a review. I’m doing so now because this app is such a frustrating downgrade from the old WordPress app that my frustration and disappointment have built to such a point that I can’t hold back.
There is such a prolonged lag when trying to compose a new post on the this app app that it’s virtually unusable. I used to post to my site weekly; now I post maybe once every 3 months because the experience of trying to compose a post is so awful. Initially, I figured it was a bug that would get worked out - but no. I just abandoned another post because the compose function has less functionality than a 20-year-old version of Word Perfect.
Seriously, seriously disappointed.

I'm not sure what happened, but the latest update broke the ability for me to clink on a link I've sent to someone in iMessage to open in a browser window. It now opens the this app app and I can't disable this. I'm not pleased with this, it's inconvenient because I'm trying to double check a link I've sent someone. How do I get this behavior to stop? I want all my links in iMesssge to open with a browser instead of Jetpack .
Things shouldn't break with updates. It didn't happen previous to the update, whether the functionality is part of the OS or not. This is on iPadOS. It doesn't do it on my iPhone. I deleted Jetpack which fixed the issue. Now all my links open in Safari as they should. This was the only app it was happening with.
by Oxjox
I run a Wordpress site, not a this app site. I pay for Wordpress hosting, not this app.
Having an entirely different app with a different name that does nearly the exact same thing is confusing and bad branding. On top of that, the requirement to use Jetpack removes functionality.
This is incredibly stupid. I hope whoever’s in charge realizes the massive blunder they’ve made and fixes this.

I was editing a post draft from the this app app on my ipad. Later, I finished the edits on wordpress on my PC and published it. The this app app does not recognize the newly published post, and still has a draft with “local changes” of the previously edited version. The this app app on the iPhone does recognize the published post. This renders the this app app as useless for me. I prefer the wordpress app that always synced with edits made from PC.
by Bbd_18
Like others are saying it’s extremely painful trying to edit your pages/posts as it either takes FOREVER to update or Jetpack will just repeatedly crash on you. Getting timeout errors when uploading media onto pages/posts. I’m at the point where I’ll deal with the hassle and go elsewhere rather than deal with this. I bought and paid for a domain & hosting for the last 4 years only to now have this thrown at me with a forced app switch! PLEASE FIX THE BUGS 😩
by AppUnwrapper
I don’t understand why these developers can’t just leave well enough alone. You removed multiple features, including the ability to save a post as a draft and manually save/update it. What was the point of this??? Please put that feature back.
Edit: I emailed support but have yet to hear back. The latest update didn’t fix the problem.
Edit: Why ask me to email support and then ignore me? It’s clearly an intended design/feature change and not a bug. It’s silly that you can no longer save changes to a draft while working on it but have to exit the post to save the changes.
Also, syncing between Jetpack on my iPad and iPhone is just absolutely horrendous. Sometimes I need to edit a post on one device and continue on another but it never syncs properly!
by Zforzmbie
When there is a problem on the website you’re paying them to protect - there is absolutely no support. Have spent a very stressful 2+ hours trying to get help when my website got spoofed and users getting a security alert. I can’t call because I’m currently traveling and online support is only a chatbot who puts you in a never-ending loop. Before purchasing, ensure you will be getting actual support and not some computer version of faq’s.

I thought the Wordpress app was bad but at least it was usable. Jetpack is trash. Uploads fail on the first try every time, extreme lag when saving updates, crashes, freezes causing forced shutdown, now it won’t even work. Why are tech companies so committed to making things worse just to make something new? You could have upgraded the old app and instead you did this. I hate it here
by Mousereadsbooks
I have no idea what was broken in the most recent update, but now it’s a struggle just to get my posts to publish. I prefer using my tablet to blog instead of my desktop, but when it comes time to put the finished post up, suddenly it fails to upload. Which means it also fails to upload the draft, so I can’t access it through a browser either. And if I try to open wordpress in my tablet’s browser, it’s broken too.
by Potatomanman
I’m no expert but I can’t even see easy prompts to set up pages or menu. I created an about page and can’t see it on my site. Then I can’t edit the location of that page.
You know that frustration level where screaming seems like the next best thing? Jetpack is great at producing that lol I hate it. Please make it better
by William Baggins
Tried Jetpack . It couldn’t find my site. Tried the help. Seemed pretty complicated. I’d rather use my time writing than learning something that may not add value to my life.
by PhelineCat
I dislike being forced to use an app when I just want to read something on my browser. I don't want to add any more apps than I have to, but when forced, I add the darned this app and delete it immediately when I'm done. However, more often than not, I don't bother reading the post.
It’s worse when I have to do 2-step verification or get an email link to log in. Gee- I'm sorry for people who can't manage passwords; I'm being punished for their failings. How does any of this make sense?
So this app? No, thank you.
by HollyKatsura
Was using Jetpack just fine for my hosted Wordpress blog, but since the latest update (April 2024) it fails to recognize I’m online, won’t allow me to upload/update posts or change post settings, I keep getting the message that I need to connect to the internet, or that the this app server is down. I can use Jetpack sometimes, but it isn’t stable anymore and I need to be able to access editing features for my blog at all times. It used to work 100% of the time but now I am lucky if it works.
by KevinPurcell
I have a self-hosted Wordpress site and it will send posts to my site ok, but when I then work on a post on my computer it doesn’t show the updates from that revision in Jetpack . So I posted an article this week and I came back to Jetpack to post another, and it showed my last post that I published but it was in draft status. I would not change. I made the mistake of updating in Jetpack hitting the Update button in the upper right. Instead of comparing the local draft with the remote published and downloading the updates made in WordPress from my computer, it set the post to draft and removed all the additions I made on my computer. I had to go into the post and restore a previous revision and then make some edits I already made just before I hit publish.

I really don’t understand why we have this app when Wordpress was great and basically identical. The disgusting green color really is off-putting and the whole premise is the same as Wordpress. I would have LOVED to not have to deal with this new app. And just don’t get why all the features moved to this app? Everything I used in Wordpress I could use here. It’s the exact same - just a different color and name. So why??? The only reason it’s getting 3 stars is because I am being able to use the same format as Wordpress and I liked the original Wordpress. But this was an annoying move that felt superfluous.
by Icosace1022
As I type posts it’s as if the touchscreen keys on the keyboard get sticky and either don’t work every time or repeat the same letters. It’s very annoying and it’s hard to type and write long posts. It’s all the buttons, the letters, sometimes the backspace won’t work for 2-3 tries, the spacebar places a period instead of space and I and up typing a capital letter, etc. Not sure why. Maybe it’s the iPad iOS, maybe I should try typing with the screen horizontally, maybe my 3-5 year old iPad is beat up too much but idk. I personally think it’s Jetpack . I had some trouble typing this review but not with the same keys or little issues. Thx for reading and I hope you find the solution.
by Pahndeepah
I have to agree with most people. I do not see all that much added to Jetpack . And just like the other versions of the WP app—I think there were two or three—it is WAY EASIER to get all the functionality of blogging if you just do it online through a browser. I really don’t get what the deal is honestly. I pay to have a private domain and no ads. Sure would be nice to have an app that makes it easier to create on my iPhone when I want to do that.
I do see the new “Stories” function. At least it is new to me. And not really all that useful for my purposes.
Please quit acting like y’all created “the new thing” when the browser option is way better.
by Toneloctoni
I’m fine with jet pack except that it doesn’t allow me to update anything on my website from Jetpack . I’ve tried everything they’ve told me to do and nothing works.
by Zombieoxide
This apps functionality is fantastic. However, it needs major speed improvements. Stats take a long time to load.
Will give 5 stars once this has been improved!
by .abc.xyz.
Freezes up when I’m trying to edit a page, and a window appears essentially stating, “We know, but give it a minute and it’s all good.”
But the only way to unfreeze the freeze is to delete and reinstall Jetpack . This happened twice. After the third time, I reinstalled the familiar blue (old) Wordpress app.
To the techies at Wordpress, let us know pls if someone fixes the glitch
by Princesa48
I have enjoyed Wordpress for several years. However, the latest updates have changed how efficient I can be on the go!
I used to be able to draft my articles on the go. Currently, it does allow me to do it. Since the move away from block format or something like that, I cannot edit or start new articles on Jetpack . Weird!
Also, syncing is off. Hopeful that near future versions will fix these glitches.
by Jbrown2339
So I used the Wordpress app a lot, and Jetpack has apparently replaced the original. Info appears to be the same and is useful, I would give it five stars but the colors now are awful! That mossy green is just not easy on the eye, I want to return to the old blue color which was much better. This color looks like a pool desperately in need of chlorine tablets!
by Zoelogical
But not all the way. Scheduled posts only post IF and WHEN someone comes to your page, according to the tech help anyway. If they don’t post then, that means setting a time for a post to go public on its own is dysfunctional entirely. I don’t get enough traffic to watch and see if something I set up posts on its own after a visit to know for sure. The discover feed doesn’t update. I’ve had the same articles displayed for more than five days. Not that others haven’t been published, just that this app is pushing this set that I have already read. I have to scroll through nearly 50 to find a new one at this point. Feeds should update regularly. Not pick a handful of writers and push their same pieces multiple days in a row. And no I don’t care if they paid to be at the top, if someone has already seen it, scrolled past or read, an updated feed should be presented. It updates for followed pages but not the general public and golly that makes it hard to read anything new. Also, no longer allows me to delete followers from the ap. I have to jump online to do so. Used to let me. Then suddenly stopped. Is the ap really helpful if it doesn’t do what the site can?
by Actualccb
I use this and don’t see much difference overall from the Wordpress App but I don’t expect much either maybe, I write my blog. Thanks for that.
I have a suggestion, it would be great to be able to share a draft by link. Kind of like Google Docs. I mean I use that now before I bring it into this app, if I am looking for input or ideas. Just a thought. Thanks for Jetpack .

I have always wanted to have a dance blog like Destination: Dance! (you should check it out lol) and jet pack helped me to create and grow this new blog of mine. Though a bit confusing at first, it is very easy to use. Once you figure out the difference between posts and pages. Jet pack is an amazing app and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
by FidoSysop
I’m really impressed with rhus this app app for iOS. It’s important to check your servers mac upload size and time to live to avoid photos and videos time out on upload. Optimally upload your media first with the this app app. Then when creating a post select media from the Wordpress uploade. Another option would be to program hooks to seo plugins used.
by Accidental Angel
Not sure what the difference is between this and the main WordPress app. They seem functionally identical and both notify me of the same events. Why have both?
by TheMovieM8niac
this app has introduced so many nuances for improvements that seeing them all this early in the game is nearly impossible. So far, it’s incredible, but I’m excited to learn more.
by Jnaimab
Grateful for your software but I need additional assistance yes and amen
by Moren To The Tee
Decent plug-in that is my main one for stat tracking. Also has a lot of nice features to speed your site up and help stay organized with your social networking.
Id definitely have this if you are building a website 👍👍

This is only my second day using this app but it is easy to use from my iPhone and iPad.
by ScubaMedic
this app is great and helps me keep abreast of systems performance and downtime. This means I can quickly respond to issues and proactively look to make updates to keep things stable and running smoothly.
Another great feature is the throughput and hits statistics. This lets me shepherd growing and developing businesses to a more appropriate server or service structure for them based on their real world traffic runs.

I love things that work and are aesthetically pleasing. Jetpack is one of them. It’s so clean and well designed, easy to use, customizable. I don’t usually leave reviews but I love it so much I wanted to share! It made checking Stats for my blog so much easier.
by Sw33tpeach3z
I really enjoy Jetpack!!! It really helps me stay in tuned with the everyday activities of my website! I love the fact that I can see the visual map of where my customers are from and it gives me a lot of insight of what market to target. Jetpack is a must have if you’re running your own website.
by A Sailor Fan
It took a few weeks but the staff at this app never gave up on me or my issue. They were in contact with me almost daily asking me to try this and then that. Eventually they figured it out and guided me through the steps to fix it. I am impressed with this app, not only because it has the features I really like but more so because of its stellar customer service
by YKARaphael
I noticed that after editing a page, Jetpack doesn’t present a link to exit back to a main menu of posts. I tried to see if one appeared after minimizing Jetpack with no luck. I finally force stopped Jetpack . I’m using iPhone 15 pro max. I’m running iOS 17.6.1 and my this app for Wordpress is up to date.

I can’t seem to find a way to change the stats on my this app iPhone widget from “all time views” to just “today’s views” as I had it on the WordPress app.
by Ryan's Zeyda
It is easy to use, and continually being improved. Sharing to other platforms, ie FaceBook, LinkedIn, Instagram is quick and seamless. Embedding videos is easy. It is simply the best.
by Will Cartoons
this app is great! Jetpack is very easy to use for making and updating your Wordpress site. And it is fast!!! And it lets you keep track of your website traffic too. Make sure you use this app if you are using the free Wordpress site hosting.

Love the simplicity of updating my site for my cell phone anywhere as I am I can add pictures in progress if I will keep track of stats and edit text. I think Jetpack is great. You should get it.
by SteelersCavs17
I have been writing on WordPress for nearly 10 years. I love the options they provide to a paid blogger. What I haven’t loved; however,Is there bugs in the updates, changes in their formats, taking blogging options out of Jetpack ,Automatically switching me from Jetpack to the website. The issues have only increased since I began. Your app has been flawless. It’s so easy to get on and find everything. I absolutely love the daily prompt right there in front. When you open up Jetpack it’s clean it’s user-friendly. It’s mobile friendly. I just absolutely love it. Thank you so much.

Remembering back to role playing games as a kid, when bionics and cybernetics were science fiction. The time before cell phones, when the cord to the wall didn’t allow for blogging on the beach, or sending love messages from the top of a ladder. I love how with a little practice, something like this app for Wordpress; takes me back there. I’m not a Elvin Sorcerer, or an Aberrant Mutant, I’m a Technowizard’s Apprentice. I belong to the this app Guild. We lay digital scripts for others to find on the Ley Lines they ride.

This seems like it would be awesome with your site/blog posts. I just have yet to learn more about what it is, exactly, but I don’t think Wordpress will steer me wrong
