Volleyball Arena: Spike Hard Reviews

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this game would benefit from an independent energy system. With the rounds being so short, you can fill up your slots for packs in 10 minutes and then have no incentive to play more except for coins. The problem is, coins are essentially your energy. If you ever drop below 100 coins you can’t ply the game at all until a) you get the daily reward (once a day, not always coins) b) you get the free reward for watching an ad (again, once a day) or c) you open a pack (3-12 HOURS each). Because of this there’s no incentive to spend your coins in the shop, because you need them to play the game. Packs take way too long to open and you get them from the first stadium you win in with an open pack slot, which can force you take a pack you don’t actually want. Additionally, the good equipment and characters requires so many cards to unlock that you can really only expect upgrades on the timescale of days. Matchmaking always matches me with people who have better equipment/characters than I do and, while my win-rate is fine against them, it feels like I enter every match at a disadvantage (likely because I do). The power up system feels cheap, most of them are just ways to guarantee yourself a point if played right, unfortunately it detracts from the fun gameplay of the vanilla match. I’m tired of being strung along with the promises of a reward every 8 hours

The overall idea of the game is enjoyable and it can get very addicting at times for good and bad reasons. The visuals are nice and I like how you can change your character and have power ups. NOW here's the issues and brace yourself, there's a lot. The power packs take forever to load and when you eventually get them, the prizes aren't that great and there's almost always a duplicate item. You have to spend 100 gems just to get five power ups or open a power pack earlier. Speaking of power ups, during the matches my power ups would automatically be used without me touching it at all and that's a complete wast of gems and it also forces you to buy more. When there's a long rally, the ball just starts moving in slow motion and it's really hard to move the ball and this gives the BOT an advantage. Yes you never actually play real people it's all bots and some levels they're 100 better than you and it's impossible to win or they're extremely bad. Weird huh. Another problem is sometimes you'll have a "connection error" and loose all the coins you spent for that level. It's really hard to have any advantages without spending REAL MONEY. Like it's just a game why can't it be fun without it being based off of emptying our pockets??? So many issues that need to be fixed and this game would be decent.

Why play if you aren’t playing against real people? AI play on does so much. You know it’s AI play because of how they use the power ups. It doesn’t matter what the score is, they always use power ups. A real person wouldn’t waste power ups when losing or winning by a significant amount. Once you get to a certain level of play, they always have the perfect timing and somehow uses multiple power ups at the same time as jumping and hitting the ball. Very unlikely so many people can do that. But then they also use the same power up within a couple seconds of each other. Since you don’t have the option to upgrade any of the power ups, you won’t get reduced cooldown times. Definitely cheating with that. Then there’s the style of play than never changes. Regardless of how the game goes, the other “player” plays the same exact way. That on its own is a dead giveaway. I worked my way up to a 42 character rating and they have me going up against ones with 60+ regularly. It’s either almost a guaranteed victory or a guaranteed loss for me, really no in between. They really do need to have a no power ups mode. I would like to play a game where I’m not bombarded with power ups every single game. Even if I don’t use any, they continuously use them even if I’m down by 10 or up by 10 with 10 seconds left. It’s just stupid

Matches are over way to quick for the amount of time we have to wait for each packet. On 8ball the matches can at least last a bit longer rather than this that its a forced 90seconds and we still have to wait up to 12 hours for a packet and can only hold 4. It’d be better if packet wait was shorter but most likely wont happen so at least having like unlimited time and just a certain amount of points needed to score would make it more interesting and competitive cause we have a goal to reach instead of worrying to much about the time not running out. You can’t even glance away, blink twice or sneeze cause you already lost to much time and it leaves the player with little opportunity to be able to catch up or come back from a low score. Oh and don’t worry if you loose a bit of signal/internet it’ll only make you leave the match and loose your money.

I can literally play this game for a least 3 hours since it’s really quick and win almost all games.
And it’s enjoyable to play with your friends and have a race who can get the more coins and powers .
And you can sign in as a guest or use your Facebook account .
And it does not freeze as other vollyball games do or rigged as some games do

The game is fun but there’s major problems, there are power ups that literally make you lose the game when playing it. If someone else has a credit card and fingers they can just pay to win their way to victory with 3 power ups per game with a cool down of about 10-15 seconds within a 2 minute game. Not to mention they bombard you with ads every other game. The game truly is fun but with this pay to win strategy it isn’t as fun as it should be. Not to mention my game crashes occasionally and it was so bad I tried on the 6th attempt that I realized it was keeping me out. So I redownloaded it and hoping it won’t crash again. I’m starting to get to the point where if I deal with these issues again or constantly lose to pay to win where my feet get slowed down by some ooze that my enemy activated with their power up that I’m going to quit the game entirely. Your game could be better if you actually catered more towards the community than your back pocket.

This game has potential to be one of the best head to head games on VolleyballArena Store. But it’s pay to win so I don’t think it will ever get there. It’s impossible to win when you’re playing someone who bought 30 of the best power ups and use them on every volley, while you’re waiting 12 hours to MAYBE get power ups out of a pack. You could be the much better player but if the person you’re playing put money into the game then you have no chance. Also the power ups need reworked completely, they are a really fun aspect of the game but some of them are way too strong and you can’t even defend against. It’s a general rule of thumb that in video games you should be able to counter other peoples mechanics in a game, but in this game even if your reactions are perfect you can’t beat certain power ups. If those things get fixed you’ll have a perfect game in my opinion.

The mystery of “is it a bot or not” is really murky because the “apparent” AI plays pretty natural. Unfortunately when you get a glossy photo of a foreigner sometimes set in casual surroundings you can be sure it’s a bot. Soccer Battle’s three on three arcade rendition of soccer will actually reveal through post game stats if any of your teammates are bots and the bot percentage is low; maybe 20%. This game will never do that as they attempt to lure you into spending money to upgrade your chances of beating more difficult AI opponents. Curious why you can’t change your avatar or even have one unless you go Facebook which will give you your latest photo from that site. You can’t even challenge friends? Come on now! Very good, simple, intuitive gameplay, but a very poor playmaking interface because they are discouraging human vs human.
EDIT: Knocked it down to 3-STARS; bottom line it’s pretty boring.

To start, this game actually seemed really fun. You will enjoy the gameplay, as it is well paced and the power ups keep it from being too dull. However, once you unlock the second arena, it's clear that the game wants you to spend money on upgrades.

I stuck to the first arena the entire time, and I would get opponents 10-15 power (I was 20 for reference) higher than me. They were all bots and would have significantly better items and stats. It became unplayable to be out of power ups while the AI bot opponents (no one is real) would use them endlessly. They jump higher, move faster, and have more power ups. Packs take 3-12 hours to open so you can't even upgrade to match the AI opponents as you unlock arenas.

Poor matchmaking, no human vs human games and clear money grab. A shame, the actual game truly is quite fun to play.

The concept of VolleyballArena is really great, but there is no need for powers and things like that. I have lost so many games because of powers and that’s how this game gets to be very upsetting, unfair, and worse. As it is also a “pay-to-win” game. You literally cannot win without getting your power maxed out by spending money, again this makes the game very unfair is you don’t spend money on such unnecessary things, and it also makes it much worse. I also have a problem with the movement that it has my character doing. Everytime I dive, it dives the opposite way of which arrow I press, or it just doesn’t go at all. Also, whenever I press lets say the “hit” ball, sometimes it does a dive or jumps. This game is not programmed right or is starting to get bugs, I don’t know. But I am quitting this game because of the lack of fun and fairness. Please fix this. NO POWERS!!!!!!!!

I expected a pretty decent game from Miniclip but after a solid week of playing, I will give you an honest review.

3. There are no events, no rankings, nothing, not even real players…what is the motivation to keep playing this game? The very few offers, disappeared before they expired and never returned. So, no offers either, for money. It’s crazy, how much they do not have, provide or included. This is like a dead game.

In conclusion, the graphics are nice but that’s it. The game is dead, with only bots and nothing to accomplish or actually do. Did they abandon this game? It’s brand new but seems so lacking, in almost every way possible. I’m surprised Mini-Clip, actually made this flop. I would not spend any money or even play for free, at this time.

This game needs more game modes, just something to add more re-playability. Also the pack unlock times are pretty long for what you get. The ability to only hold 4 at a time is another thing that should be looked at. Another thing that could be a great idea is some sort of challenge system. (Score points, win games, play games,) hopefully these challenges would reward packs, coins, power ups, and cards. A few other suggestions would be a “battle pass” or reward track with a free and paid option. More characters, more items, and more arenas.

I really enjoy the game and hope to see it grow to its potential <3

Amazing game, 100% recommend it. There is just one thing that really gets on my nerves. Power ups, I know people pay for power ups and the game can make money off of it but I am looking at all of these other reviews and it seems like other people also have a problem with it, I am making a review about this because I am hoping the dev will do something about it and how it’s ridiculous, especially because one second you winning then the next second the other play just “one click fire ball” hits the ground they get a point and they win. Dev, if your reading this please get rid of powers.

so, at first, I really liked this game, but then it would randomly make me start the tutorials all over again. I still had all the same characters and power ups, but the higher levels I got to the higher levels it would force me to play during the tutorial again and there was no way to skip it or click anything else other than what it told me to then during the match it would say reconnecting or kick me out and I would lose my money. It is also no fair or fun to be playing bots all the time because we have endless power ups. this game is awesome. Definitely rigged because there will be times are moving and everything just glitches out but there’s just so many things wrong with this.

Alright so I’m 15 years old. I’ve been playing this game for maybe 3 weeks now. I enjoy this game somewhat but I’ve sorta noticed that all of my opponents are bots. The way I could tell is that they constantly use It’s sorta boring that you can’t challenge your friends. My friends and I downloaded this game thinking it was multiplayer but it wasn’t. Hopefully this feature could be added soon because I think it would be more enjoyable then playing with a bot. I don’t wanna play a game to where I have to question whether or not I’m playing with a bot or a real person.

Y’all would make more revenue on this game if you stopped putting ads everywhere and made the game better. I.e. adding tournaments that cost less but win big. The powers are a little too powerful too have 3 at a time ik that’s because you want people to use them up. Having 3 is like god mode. The characters are solid though I love upgrading them and hoping for cards. But I’m most likely not going to spend gems on power ups and save them for big packs. Still a great game though.

I like the game. However it would be great to see more stadiums. Along with being able to see other players profiles and statistics. I have no idea how good I am compared to other players. This update doesn’t tell me if I’m good or not either? All the update was for is the players who play all day long. They are the ones at the top of the lists! Not the players that have 280 win streak or the players that have won over 90% of there lifetime matches . Also what am I to do with 59 million coins that I have?

If people have gems they have special ability’s such as freezing the ball on my third hit before my foul I hit the ball to go over and they freeze the ball and there’s nothing I can do about that
Or raising the net people pull that when I hit it and therefore I can’t hit the ball because he flew behind me or slowing me and they constantly keep spiking the ball back I can’t be everywhere when I’m slowed I think they should either take out the ability’s or keep the abilities but let everyone have them but only allows you to use them a certain amount of times a match overall the game is pay to win and I don’t suggest playing it until the fix it

Again not surprised to find out these are the same people who did football strike where the game glitches and bugs out every minute so you lose coins which took forever to get it because they give so little but if you pay for a package and you start a game and it all the sudden lose connection in full WiFi u also loose coins and points . so if you were winning it makes your stats worse. tried contacting these people more than five times nobody gets back to me . It shows they’re more interested in people buying crap off their apps than fixing their games

I love the game, I’m lvl 19 with almost 1mil coins. But recently I have noticed whenever I go into a match I get matched against a computer with exactly 61.6 rating every time and it’s say that the player’s stats give all the stats and none of the equipment on them give any. The name changes every time but it’s starting to get annoying/boring going against a random computer every match, I want challenge, I want competitiveness. But as is there feels like none.

This game is probably my favorite game I have on my phone. Its pretty addicting to me, but I do have a few problems with it that make me very angry and confused. First one of my biggets problems, when the timer is about to go up, I notice it stays at 0 for a good 5 or more seconds. This annoys and confuses me especially when my opponent is 1 point away from me, and we end up having a tie. It’s almost like the game is taking sides. 😒 Another one of my problems is something most people have said in their reviews. Take. The. Powers. Away. Please! I feel like EVERY TIME I play this game, I always end up losing. Even if I’m better than my opponent and have more power, they still end up winning only because they’re using powers. I feel like it’s cheating and not truly winning. I think this game would make me rage quit less without the powers. I just get so mad because the only way my opponent is winning is because they're using powers. I try not to use my power ups that much because, first of all, I don’t have an unlimited amount, and second of all it’s not that fun when all you're doing is cheating. Even though this game makes me extremely mad sometimes and I have problems with it, I still
love playing it and I think you should give it a try if you like volleyball and you're competitive. 😂

The base game is very enjoyable, got hooked right away and the game mechanics are solid for a casual online/bot multiplayer. However, I didn’t give it a better rating for three main issues for me. First, coins are basically useless beside upgrading characters, which only occur at lower levels because of the nature of the packs. Second, the packs have too long a timer given the little quantity that is in them. You will be stuck at one character for a week or more, and with constant play you only level up to be faced with higher rated opponents. Third, the power ups are decent, they make the gameplay more interesting. But faced against higher level opponents you are basically rendered useless regardless of skill because of the sheer number they have. Overall decent game, but needs work and optimization to be more enjoyable.

At first I loved this, but it started logging me out. I used to play this a lot an loved it. Later on after I spent lots of money on games, in the middle of the game (when I was winning) it just logged me out and took my gold. I was very excited then it just logged me out of the game and like kicked me. It wouldn’t let me back in the game and it took my gold. Because of this, I had no money left. It does it all the time to me and I do have very good internet that works on every other game. It is a fun game though, so I would recommend getting. I am not sure what is happening. It is also very hard to get new skins and things, but that’s okay. When your at level 15, it has you play someone level 35!! It is super hard to beat! Anyway it is sort on fun, just has bugs.

Ok maybe it’s because I’m not signed in or something but you can’t friend people or play with friends. My bsf wanted me to download this and we can’t even play it together! Not to mention I can’t create an account aka sign in bc my Apple ID doesn’t let me and I don’t have Facebook. So this game is kinda mid. And it’s also pretty much a copy of basketball arena (other than the different sport) except a bit worse. I mean at least I can play with my bsf on Basketball arena! Don’t let this stop you from getting VolleyballArena tho bc other than this flaw it’s a pretty good game, it has some foundation, yk? It’s a fun game, but a few changes will really make it great. I’ve been playing for a while and have amassed over 6 million coins (without spending any money). The coins are useless. You should be able to buy diamonds with coins, even if it’s something crazy like 1 million coins for 100 diamonds.

Also, like everyone has mentioned, I’ve never played a real human in this game. The bots are way too easy and I beat them without powers. I wish there was a way to play humans, but I imagine there aren’t enough players globally? Idk.

I think these updates would be game changing and would actually make it more fun and have more longevity.

I’ve been having a lot of bugs I’ve needs to change my password for iCloud I did and I can’t sign back in and the dive and the smash button aren’t working like I’ll tap smash and I’ll dive and it would seem more fun to play against friends it’s not fair how opponents have unlimited power ups and have like the best character know to manikins at like level 15 and I’m stuck here with a character from Tokyo arena that looks like mr pool check from gravity falls but overall this game is fun but extremely stressful and irritating I kind of regret downloading this sorry I enjoyed at first but it slowly got worse from there :(

The game is filled with bots, not real people. In the hundreds of games I have played, I have never went against someone who had 2 or fewer abilities active. The odds of this occurring with real people is almost 0. Also, the bots use powerups even when they have no chance of winning. Real players would not do this, or at least not with such high frequency. I wish the game was more open about telling you that your opponents are bots; disconnecting your internet makes the game end, making it seem like a legit multiplayer game, but it is not. I also wish there were modes without powerups. The game, as it stands, has very overpowered powerups, and they make the game unenjoyable by lowering the skill ceiling; there is no reason to improve your skills if you can just push a button and stun your opponent.

This game is honestly really good but I would like there to be more maps and less bots. I feel like this game gets boring quickly and sometimes I feel like playing against bots is pretty boring at times. So I feel like if there were more maps to unlock it would make the game for fun and intense so that you would wanna unlock the next map or power ups.

With the newest update I have been trying to get into my account using my Apple ID. And whenever I try to sign in that way the game keeps on saying I have to update the game. Yet it says that the game was already updated in VolleyballArena Store. But I’m pretty scared because the only way I can play the game now is if I go in as guest.(which means restarting all my progress) as on my other account I had a a couple 100,000 coins, a lot of gems, many power ups, a decent ranking on the leader board. And many many more. So if there’s something that could be fixed so I can sign back in using my Apple ID. Please please please fix it. I love this game a lot and would hate to loose all my progress

So i have an iphone se2020 and idk if thats the reason but i updated the game and it says theres a new gamemode called lucky shot, but idk how to play it i dont see it anywhere? I give it 4 bc its great and maybe the problem isnt the developers fault but sometimes it is repetitive and i have an idea which is a game mode with no powers since powers is annoying to play against especially the ice ball since idk how to even beat it but anyway great game i like to play when im bored oh sorry one thing maybe u can make it so we dont run out of ads bc i wanna open my packs quicker

I love this game, play it every day, it’s so fun and you use volleyball skills like spiking and passing. But I was playing a match against this other player, and there was a glitch where he would serve, and I couldn’t see the ball. So, of course, I lost every single point and he won
21-0. I had also paid $1600 dollars (in-game, of course) to play, and without the glitch, I may have beaten him and won $3200. So, anyway, you should buy the game, not sure why the glitch occurred, but it’s SO fun, and I love playing it.

This is the best volleyball game on the AppStore.
In my opinion at least. I don’t like how you have to gamble your money on the games, because it can make some of the higher arena matches very stressful and can take away some of the fun.
Also, occasionally the ball just goes through my arms if I jump at the same time the ball hits my arms. It can be annoying, but it doesn’t happen that much so overall It’s not much of an issue.
Also the match making can be a little unbalanced,
But not nearly as bad as a lot of other games.
It’s also very easy to be pay-to-win in this game,
But what I like about it, is that even if your opponent is very pay-to-win, it’s still winnable by skill.
Which can’t be said about other games.
And in a way, every game with purchasable items is going to be pay-to-win in some way, because of that. As a volleyball player myself, I look past all these complaints I have and just enjoy being able to satisfy my volleyball itch if I can’t go and actually play volleyball at the time.

Summery:
There’s things about this game that I don’t necessarily love, but when you take a look at all the other volleyball games on AppStore, you realize this really is a good game.
I highly recommend you get it.

The game is really fun and addicting, but the more I play the tougher it gets. The game is SUPERR pay to win. I’m not trying to spend all of my money on a short boost in power. People I’m going against have 2x my power since they bought the knock off battle pass or they bought a bundle that gives them OP accessories and characters. The power ups are cool and the abilities I’m fine with. I don’t like how the game clearly favors the bots to their advantage, it feels like they have unlimited charges of their ability when mine doesn’t reset every game. Why have power ups when you can only have a certain amount of them? It feels like that’s an aspect of the game that is forcing you to be pay to win. But that’s just my thoughts on it. Really fun, just the pay wall is insane and definitely is NOT worth paying for.

First off this game is great, the layout of the game and controls but there’s lots of things that could improve the game by A LOT such as taking away powers, it basically guarantees a point say it’s 4-5 they will just use a power and boom you lost, another thing is I have 1.3 Million coins and have nothing to do with them, I can’t spend them except on matches! I started playing 3 weeks ago have place #1 in the leagues but it’s making me wanna quit the game already, whenever i’m on a win streak it says Connection error or Reconnect. The game is pretty rigged, I went on a winning streak of 27 once and then the game set me up for failure, basically I tried the 5,400 match and had no errors out of 5 played but then the 56,000 and out of 5 had 3 errors that kicked me out weird huh? That’s there way of trying to control skill but in the end it’s not helping. I enjoyed the game until I got matched against people with 115.7 power which isn’t even possible! I’m to good for the game is that what it’s trying to say? The only way i’ve lost is from connection error, 115.7 power he got everything, and stupid powers being used. Not to mention you have to pay REAL MONEY just to have a really good character very fun game but also doesn’t make sense.
