Great Gameplay, But Heavy On MTX

I love the turn based style gameplay with all of my favorite characters. I love how frequent it seems that more characters are being introduced, the game isn’t lacking in content at all. Unfortunately it is EXTREMELY hard to play as a free to play player since so much of the progression mechanics rely on chance, unless you pay. The game isn’t quite pay to win, but it definitely has a pay to win feel since dropping large amount of money will allow you to max out your characters faster to make a stronger team. I also hate how pricey the bundles are. Everything is over $10 and some even go up to $100. I’ve been tempted to buy, but can’t justify spending $30 on a few characters for a mobile game. If there were a few more packs and bundles for less than $10 maybe I’d make more purchases. It’s easier to spend smaller amounts more often than a large amount at once. My last issue is a technical one. After upgrading to the iPhone 11 max, I can no longer see who is next in the line up down in the bottom left of the UI. Before I could see like the next 3 or 4 characters to help strategize who I was going to go after, but now I have to just guess by the little yellow speed bars over the characters. I so want this game to have 5 star rating because I love the gameplay, I just don’t get to play the game as much as I would like to because of the time restrictions I face as a free to play player.

It’s okay

I think this game has a lot of potential to be great, but it’s merely a cash grab for Disney. They make it nearly impossible to gain new characters and it’s so hard to tier up your already existing characters. The character tokens, which are used to unlock characters and level up your existing characters, are not even guaranteed after you win the battle. And leveling up yourself is fairly difficult. You get going really fast at the beginning but once you hit like level 9-10 it’s like a brick wall. You’re stuck constantly losing against higher leveled characters, and if u want to level up to beat them you have to replay multiple old levels. You have your starter characters which luckily they’re diverse enough ranging from the little mermaid to monsters inc, but after you get like the first low go characters, it takes forever or money to get enough tokens to unlock new characters. Then you finally have the chance to get character tokens in the special events, but oops, turns out you don’t have enough two star characters so you can’t play past level one. This game is designed to make people so frustrated at the stagnant-ness that they finally just say fine here’s my money, just to tier one character up. Honestly not really worth it IMO. I was excited at first bc it was going kind of fast, but like I said, you hit that brick wall and it gets really annoying and repetitive. Don’t waste your time

Would be more enjoyable if user experience was more smooth

This game regularly disconnects and the pvp is so bad that I have to just auto because I can’t refresh or input any commands because it’s stuck. It’s also hard to see ideal paths for building teams. Many seem to lack synergy if not also theme. I mean I wouldn’t mind paying for a nightmare before Christmas lineup but I don’t think they have the mechanics worked out or the characters available to begin attempting to grind for such characters. I my team compositions work but its random characters and one’s that in my opinion aren’t very desirable. Neither are the for available for purchase characters. They should try to target the older generation users as they are the ones with disposable income. They should be building more on the alt characters like darkwing duck, gizmo, launchpad, nightmare before christmas etc. Honestly I’m not too interested in Frozen characters or Emperors Groove etc. The scaling also abruptly halts after the initial binge which can turn off many users as it is way to easy to waste resources and there lot of roadblocks specifically restricted compositions unless you’re paying. If I pay to play I should be able to use my characters where ever I wish too. Its a cheap tactic to make you have to grind more or pay out more to have to build other teams. This game has lot of potential but is a work in progress...

The game is good, the store isn’t.

Disney is still Disney when it comes to design, the game looks very nice graphics-wise, and the UI is easy to use, one of the best I’ve seen for this mobile game genre. The characters have synergies, allowing for actual strategy in team building, albeit dumbed down for kids’ sake. So the gameplay itself is good, but the store is horrible. You don’t get nearly enough gems from the daily quests, most achievements (which are 1 time) give little amounts of gems. The only notifications you get in the store are for free chests (4hr isn’t worth opening the game for, 24 isn’t worth 24 hrs) and bundles after you collect one shard of a new character. These bundles usually range from 5-10 dollars, though later into the game, I’ve noticed $20 offers. Ever event comes with offers as well. A single character pack can cost anywhere from 500 to 1000 gems, equal to almost 2 weeks of grinding, minimum. To save some time, the game has a good style, but you’ll be slower than a tortoise when it comes to progressing. Most missions are locked behind character star requirements. Basically, has potential, but it’s boring as hell f2p, just play MSF.

Edit: Bucket of soldiers is absolutely broken to put it lightly, not using the vivid profanity like whenever I see it in pvp. Just thinking about it makes me scorn the developers.

Okay game. Plays itself.

Game is okay for very young kids, age 5+ (if you are okay with the violence). Parents should know, you see Aladdin jump into the air, and stab a guy with a knife every fight. You see this a lot because it is super hard to complete a character. Difficult to get any major movie character without cash. Stuck to getting C-list characters, like the ghost from some random old movie, or Gaston. Most of the battles can be played on full auto after a long tutorial telling you to push at very specific places. Since the team is basically unchanged for a long time, it gets boring very fast. The equip system is super annoying. Game knows that you have items that needs to be equipped, but you have to do it yourself. It's not as if you have a lot of choice since items change based on tier. You are constantly dealing with click through to the equipment menu because you see a notification every time you gain one in any 6 items for a whole lot of characters. That's a lot of gear pieces!
There are multiple boxes to open with different currencies it's hard to keep track.
Every club is "full". It cost a lot to start a club, so just be lucky that any accept you.
Storyline ended after intro to game.
Still, you get to see Buzz light year fight! How cool is that?!?! Right!

Fun, but P2W. And also TOO MANY BUGS.

I’ve been playing this game since it launched, I really enjoy collecting all of the different characters and making all of the different teams; HOWEVER… it is near impossible to do anything necessary to win in the game without spending real money. For instance, the tower events are ridiculously hard to achieve all needed character shards to ascend them to 7 stars (like Rapunzel or Frollo). The next major problem is the amount of bugs!! The game needs a serious debugging from the devs. Nonstop issues, like freezing and crashing during important battles, such as club conquest and raids. It’s ridiculous that the game has been going on this long without the bugs being fixed. And then, another problem that’s not as major as the other two is the way the battles are set up. The characters are set in battle at an angle so you can’t see all of them all the time, especially if you have summoned characters which take up more slots. When you’re required to give one of your characters a buff or a cleanse, it is way too easy to click on the wrong character because of the way they’re set up. This needs to be fixed. Either create a mode where you can view overhead, or change the setup entirely. Thanks for reading.

A great game. 1 big complaint

If u like group fighter strategy game u will love this! The characters r classic, of course, and each feel very unique. The various game modes, for the most part, r very fun. Also, it is comfortably possible to obtain even higher rarity characters over time. So, again, play this game.

1 complaint: one of the game modes is the Arena, where u play against actual players in real time. Usually during battle there is an option to speed up gameplay to double speed, quickening the game. In the arena though, there is no option for this. This, along with some players taking a great deal of time choosing a move, when the animations happen they occur in the slowest possible manner. Some of my Arena battles have lasted upwards of ten minutes due to the slow nature of the animation. Its so bad my trick is to pick for your team your lowest level characters, set the match on auto, and go make dinner. I have done that to come back to the match still on! Very broken, very not fun.

I want to finally state that, aside from this complaint, all the rest of the content I have explored here has been very entertaining!

Great game needs more Characters

This RPG style turn based game is great for a leisurely day in Quarantine. I would recommend it to my friends and family. However, there are characters from the Disney Pixar universe that are left out that I would like to recommend the developers add to the game for more options of characters. 1.) Perry the platypus or Doctor Doof would be a great addition for a fighter like sully or Gaston. Doof could even have a inator ability 2.) mostly because you can only find him at Epcot I think Figment would make an excellent Healer giving him the ability to use the power of imagination would fit his character and would make him an interesting playable character to have. 3.) Elsa and the Frozen people would be interesting. having characters from both movies would be interesting. These are just some ideas but I do believe adding other characters other than the 70 that are already in the game would be interesting. Other than that Fantastic Game 10/10

Wasted a year of my life.

I played this game religiously, every day, for almost about a year now. I loved it. I do put some money into buying gems at times, but I’m primarily f2p. That being said, it takes a LONG time to build or unlock characters, and you can spend a LOT of money very fast to help in this game. I had been working really hard to build my team around what was working against the stronger characters and teams at my player level. I recently raced to unlock a player that would complete the perfect team for myself, and build her up (yes, I spent money for this), before an event was over. After said event ended, and I had her at a decent playing level, the trash new update was released... let’s just say that this company ruffled a lot of feathers and screwed over a lot of players, making previous power house characters now completely worthless.
It is now painfully clear that this company doesn’t care about the free to play players. They make enough money off of the big spenders that unlock the unattainable legendary characters, and that’s all that matters to them.
It’s been fun, but I have no desire to continue playing now. My advice is just not to have any hope in being decent at this game unless you want to spend lots of money. Don’t get invested. ✌️

READ MOST RECENT REVIEWS !!

Please, read the most recent reviews. Don’t let the over all rating fool you, a lot of those high ratings came from a time when the game was actually fun to play. Do not waste your time on this game. It was an absolutely beautiful game not too long ago. It has since turned into such an obvious money grab that it’s almost disrespectful to the average player. The developers and customer support do NOTHING to help with your issues or complaints. All they will say is ‘we are always working to improve the game’. But everything remains the same. If you can’t afford to spend literally -thousands- of dollars on a mobile game, don’t bother here. Because that’s what you’ll need to just be on the low end of the competition. They are constantly jamming things in, always making the new character just a little more stronger than the last. And if you want to obtain that new character, you’ll have to invest into other new characters that go with them. It’s never ending spending. Quite brilliant from a business standpoint but as far as the people who actually play the game, it’s sickening. I don’t want to rant longer, but please. As cool or interesting as the game may seem, you will only become frustrated by the blatant scam they have going on.

It’s good but...

I love playing Sorcerer’s Arena, it’s one of the few games that I can play frequently and not get tired of it. There’s a good selection of characters and having a club makes it relatively easy to level up most characters without having to spend actual money though that would make it even easier. The only reason I wouldn’t rate it a full 5 stars is it has a few features that make it less fun to play. The turn based system is great when it works but there’s times when a player gets such a big advantage that it’s almost impossible to win, I’ve had instances where a player’s entire team had each character go twice before even one of mine got a chance to fight. Also some characters are so ridiculously overpowered that they’re nearly impossible to beat like Elsa for example. And finally constantly getting paired in the PVP arena with players that are WAY stronger so there’s no point in fighting and it hurts your weekly score, I mean 2,600 deck strength against 3,700 deck strength. Overall good game but there’s some minor things that are a little bit annoying

Fun (at a Steep Price)

This game can be a lot of fun. However, the developers make it very difficult for free-to-play players to unlock legendary characters. As a result, you end up playing against very overpowered characters in player-versus-player; you can bet on playing against some permutation of the same 10-15 characters 9 times out of 10. If you do decide you want to pay, you’re looking at anywhere from $10-$100 just for the *chance* to unlock a character and power them up to a usable level. On top of that, there’s always the chance that the developers may release an unannounced update later that nerfs the character you paid for. Overall, the concept is great and I would even be willing to pay money for this or something similar if it were on a console. However, I don’t know many people who are able and willing to shell out the kind of money this game asks for, nor do I know many people who are patient enough to farm a character only to have it nerfed when the next new character releases. After a year of playing the game, I am sad to say I am deleting it. I won’t be investing anymore time, as the developers clearly do not care about making a fun game; they care about hooking your interest so that you will spend money.

Great game with 1 MAJOR flaw

Im not one to write reviews, but since i continue to play this game, and i continue to experience the major flaw in the gameplay, i have no choice but to write a review hoping it gets changed or removed from the game. Im a bug RPG fan & to come out with a competitive & fun RPG like this game with Disney characters is awesome! I love the graphics, the different modes, & how easy it is for character development for many characters. (other, more exclusive characters are much harder to come by unless you spend alot of money or are ver patient) But the 1 thing i continue to los my patience over is the MOVE LIMIT on multiple match modes. There’re so many characters that have moves that bring an additional character on to the match. This strategy is wasted if i continue to get docked a move everytime its that additional characters turn. Please either remove the move cap, change it to a time limit for the match, or dont have those additional characters get docked a move in the cap. Please continue to improve this game...its awesome...except that 1 thing for me.

Not playable

The first few weeks the game is a lot of fun! You level up quickly, earn lots of characters, and level them up quickly as well. But after you hit level 25 maybe (which I hit in 2 weeks). The game is near impossible to play, it just becomes a chore. You can do the PVP battles (which take about 10-15 minutes & are unevenly lines up). Or you can do sorcerers battles, but you don’t get anything out of it so why? But in order to level up your characters you need to equip 6 pieces of gear onto your character. It takes me about 2 days to get one piece of gear and I play twice a day. Also in order to get characters you want or to participate in the special events you need certain characters. I’ve spent the last 4 days using all of my energy to try and get a character. And I play 10x and instead of getting a token every time. I get a token maybe 1-2x so then I have to wait for energy to reload. And it takes 6 minutes for one energy. And you need between 8-16 to participate in ONE battle. So 48 minutes - 1.5 hours just for ONE battle. Not to mention the max energy levels are so low so even if you do let it completely refill you can participate in about 10-12 battles

A chore to play

The game is beautiful and the sprite/character designs/renderings are great, but the interface is clumsy and makes you really work to find and access sub menus and screens. The poor server connectivity also makes a bland combat system really unbearable. The combat system supports auto play, but compared with Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes (another game in this genre by Disney) it has less support on gameplay speed (there’s slow and REALLY slow). The game is also almost ALWAYS downloading content non-stop, which becomes obnoxious. The drop rates are horrendous, which of course lends to driving the player to want to pay to play/win and make in-game purchases. There have also been several repeated glitch-y events which the game makes you run through the rigmarole for—only for them to repeatedly cancel without notice or provide “inconvenience” rewards like other games provide. The draw is huge if you want to play as your favorite beloved Disney characters, but after spending some money on it—I have to ask myself, why am I even playing as there’s little to no joy continuing to play other than to indulge the “collect them all” mentality?—hence, it’s a chore.

Fun at first, but evolves to a STRESS inducer.

This game is quite fun at first, I even spent some money on it as I felt it was worth it. However it takes up a lot of time and in order to be successful you have to farm characters that the game makes much stronger than the others. Currently characters from Frozen and Big Hero 6 are overly powerful, so a team that is much lower than yours will win without even really allowing you a chance to play. In other words their team will take 5 or 6 turns in a row not letting you make a move. If you’re looking for a stress reliever, I can assure you it will become a stress inducer. It also makes the fun of choosing your own team moot, if you don’t use the stronger characters you won’t win. The creators “ask” for suggestions, and many players have mentioned the aforementioned frustration to no avail. The club I was in recently had a mass exodus from the game due to the unfairness and the time it consumes without paying off. I will probably be deleting DisneySorcerersArena at the end of the month if nothing improves. It does have a few positives: Cool character designs and moves, fun early on, different types of spells and magic. Play at your own risk.

Coolest game ever

The funnest and best game ever to be played. Anyhow I have action figures of these guys and I love each and every one of them as much as Spidy and many many many more super heroes🤠and I love the cool animation you guys bring to life in this wonderful cool game of your and I especially love Sly the very most of all because he is the tough type that never gives up a true fight just like the green Goliath hulk that is. And the Thing Sasquatch and Man Thing Swamp Thing And the Grey Goliath and Strong Guy and evening this guy who I study most is Alleyboy Oop and of course even the strong ape I love most of all the forty foot ape called the great grape ape. And I even love Spidy in this sort of category oh and of course Sully and these are my favorite tough guys and I can’t believe I left Superman out. And even Batman and Wonder Woman too. Yes indeed you guys have the best animation and coragraphics and wonderful scenes in the game. Congrats. Anyhow you guys are superb and as Nimoy would always say live long and prosper Jannyboy Stephens.🖖

Forced fixed story gameplay.

I love Disney don’t get me wrong but this game ain’t it, the tutorial was too long and it’s fixed characters to start. Disney’s about creating a story where you are the hero of your story this game just does not up hold that. You start like everyone else with the same characters Ariel mickey and sully if they had a better randomized system to start people can fall in love with there characters that they have personally not a character everyone who gets this game has right away and pushed through a story everyone is doing. If the game were more randomized for people to have there own personal adventure it’d be better. The pass feature to pay to get characters was a good way to add in app purchases but could have been improved like the people around the world who love Disney and have annual passes already pay 500$ -1000$, a way to get some perks In the game with linking your pass would be awesome nothing crazy like immediate new characters but a rare chest monthly would be perfect. This would create a connection between reality and Disney’s many other platforms of entertainment. Overall the game feels like it has a set story that you don’t control and doesn’t really connect 100% with true fans of Disney.

Frustratingly bugged. Pushes Pay to Play hard.

I like the game. I do. But I think everyone who plays this game will get you bugs are common.

In one of these bugs, I was allowed by the game to collect rewards more than once. I spent A LOT of time doing it to capture Stitch. The customer service then suspended my game, accused me of using cheating software and revoked both the Stitch I had attained and any progress made while also preventing me from making new progress for close to a week. I explained to the customer service team what had happened. They gave me a boilerplate message about cheating and third party software. Explained again. They asked me for proof. I sent them the snapshots of my 7 star Stitch. They AGAIN accused me of cheating. The worst customer service ever. To add to this, ever since this event, I’ve had a “new” message in my icons and I can’t get rid of it. For over a month.

I’d really, really like my Stitch back... that I have proof of (ps—any time you have an issue, they demand screenshot or video proof, even when there’s no reason to think you’d need it.)

I’m obsessed!

I LOVE THIS GAME. It is so much fun because there’s so many ways you can build teams and upgrade and so many different strategies you can have! There’s adds that are actually helpful about buying in game goods! On top of that, storing up on diamonds and gold takes time, but there’s so many chances to get it to where you always feel on your way to reaching your goal! (I would know I have spent hours straight playing because there’s always something to do! Unlike many games which have a time limit or lives limit, which in my opinion ruins the game.) I also love playing because there’s always something to go for, meaning after I earned the Aladdin team I wanted, I then went to Lion King and now Frozen!

The only concern I have is when the next Moana event is happening, so I could try to get Maui! (I think my next goal team will be Maui-Hiro-Baymax-Aladdin-Jasmine)
