New app & E-edition

Forget reading a newspaper! TheOklahomaneEdition and all the new modifications leaves you trying to figure out how to find what you want to read. It is not user friendly. It is hard to find the arrows to advance pages if you make print larger. It is hard to get back to your page when you do select an article to read. It’s hard to find a special section of interest. There is very little news and mostly ads. The E-edition from previous apps was the best way to find anything, and all of that has disappeared. The symbols to replace that format are misleading and the pop ups are annoying and are often difficult to remove leaving one in a quandary of where the newspaper went. I can’t rate it below a 1, but it should have a negative rating!!

Oklahoman App is a convenient option

As a digital only subscriber to the Oklahoman, I’ve been reading it for some time on the browser. I downloaded TheOklahomaneEdition out of curiosity, and was pleased to discover that it is the same app as the other newspaper to which I subscribe digitally. So no learning curve.

The only negative comment I have, and my reason for 4 stars, is that TheOklahomaneEdition frequently omits the comics. So I have to go online with the browser to read the comics, then go back to TheOklahomaneEdition for stories.

Appreciate The Oklahoman, but…

Where are the wedding announcements? Where is Steve Lackmeyer’s work? There needs to be more local coverage. It took me a while, but I now like the ePaper - I do not have to go out into the weather to find my newspaper and it’s “delivered” on time. So the paper is pretty good, but could be better.

I miss the Oklahoman

I’ve been able to adjust to the print replica; still miss the physical paper. But the paper. Has been decimated in the last 6 mos. or so. No marriage/divorce info. I used to anxiously await the Sat issue to look at the real estate transactions. Finally in the last several months the listings were more complete, stretching into two pages, then poof it was gone all together. If you get rid of the death/ obits I’ll be done !!!!!!!!!!! I would add, very poor “local coverage”. Also layout. You can’t seem to finish even a short story without continuing 2 inches several pages away.

Impossible to click on pictures

The journalism is fine, but when you try to click on a picture to read the full blurb or zoom in on a picture you’re taken to a video ad that’s impossible to back out of. I just have to close down the whole app to avoid seeing an unwanted video ad. Especially annoying when I’m already paying for a subscription.

Easy to Use and Timely Delivery

TheOklahomaneEdition has solved a huge dilemma for me. Living in a smaller community in Oklahoma, we were informed that cuts were being made and our paper would be mailed instead of delivered to our address.

The answer to our dilemma was quite simply given to us through TheOklahomaneEdition. Good job, team!

Review

I really enjoy reading our paper on my phone. I enjoy the ability to make the print larger and easier to read. I also enjoy your efforts to be fair and tell both political views. I also enjoy your sports reporting. The paper represents professional sports, college and high schools well. Thank you!

Daily news

Good app. Easy to use . It has several enhancement features which allow you to pick articles and put them back. It has an easy to use magnifying feature. It’s as good as getting a daily print version if only you could smell the ink

By

Digital newspaper

I like your digital newspaper, it’s easy to use, being able to
Enlarge the print really helps, it’s available and not in the way,
It’s here everyday with no delays. The Oklahoman puts out a lot of good news. I came from Arlington , TX and I like your paper better than the Fort Worth paper.

All-around bad

Horrible app and even worse customer service. This is the third straight Friday that TheOklahomaneEdition doesn’t work. All I get is a message saying to contact customer service. By mid-morning on Monday, it magically starts working again. Customer service was a complete waste of time. They couldn’t find my account. Why am I talking to a guy in India? So much better before they changed apps. Of course this paper has been on a downward spiral for many years, so it shouldn’t be a surprise.

Same as print

Basically the same thing as the print copy, just without the inserts and stuff that I don’t need. Easy to use with nice features like zoom, ability to e-mail articles, print, etc.

Everything I need to know.

Have read the paper for 72 years starting with with the comics with my mom. Took me a bit to get used to the digital format but it is so nice to have my paper anywhere I go.

Easy to identify articles to read

I read on an iPad and the print is large enough to select the articles you want to read. Index is also good.

The Oklahoman

I use TheOklahomaneEdition daily to stay abreast of news in my former home state. It’s easy to use and always available whenever I have time to catch up. Keep up the excellent work!

By

Great way to read the paper !

As a person who grew up reading the newspaper the traditional layout of the Newspaper and the ease of navigation and the ability to navigate to the Oklahoman website is great.

By

Great

The new app lets me keep up with the news wherever I am and is soooo much easier to use once I figured it out. Being a senior adult it was not as easy for me as for the younger generation.

Text sizing and response.

I like the way TheOklahomaneEdition honors my iPhone settings for text size and written material. It makes a material readable to me without a lot of resizing, dragging, and searching.

By

Getting better

I enjoy TheOklahomaneEdition and the format continues to be of better user friendly.

By

Enjoy

When I learn how to navigate the e I appreciate it very much. I am 80 years of age and first read about the Sooners. After Vietnam 68-69 got my degree from the The
University of Oklahoma.

New and Improved

TheOklahomaneEdition works much better than the previous one I had.

By

New app

App is ok, but the old one seemed better. Very frustrating when there isn’t an edition for the day or when they leave the comics off.

By

Love the app!

Replica just like the actual print edition, but don’t have it lying around the house waiting to be tossed. I can easily print 2 copies of the Sunday Sudoku for hubby and me.

By

Too many bugs!

While the new app is a definite improvement from the old one, it still leaves a lot to be desired. I can’t load older papers. It keeps sending me back to the account page.
PLEASE FIX IT!
Nothing to do with TheOklahomaneEdition , but bring back the real estate sales! Dear Abby is shorter than it used to be.
