App keeps asking for my location to set up wifi, I have allowed access to local network but it keeps asking for location and not connecting to my wifi
I can’t connect the lights to XMcosy . I’ve tried many times turning them on and off on and off. It’s really annoying when you paid someone to install 18 land Scaping lights and they don’t work.
Forget XMcosy. Try something else. Lights will not connect to my wifi. I had another this app light set for two years that worked fine. They must have messed with XMcosy with the “+” because the new set won't connect. They even sent a new controler and it won't connect. Forget this light set and try something else.
This is NOT a custom app. It is a white label used by many companies as a quick cheap solution.
The Achilles’ heel of this product is XMcosy does NOT allow you to control multiple sets of lights at once fully. Meaning you must create a scene and include all the light sets BUT you can only turn them on and off. You can’t change color on the fly to all lights. You can only do per set individually. So if you own 24 sets, you must 24 times set them to the color you want if you want to change the color in all of them. There is no group edit feature and many more needed features you would find in Philips Hue
I tried to download XMcosy when I got the lights and it didn’t work. I tried multiple times it’s spinning and nothing happens. I can’t even download it. I tried on the second phone it did work it’s fine but on this phone which is my main phone it doesn’t want to download. It is frustrating and I don’t know what is going on but I can use XMcosy. Very dissatisfied.
We have two sets of rgb lights and have to use XMcosy to attempt to control them. It’s beyond frustrating — when I launch XMcosy it says the strings are offline. Actually connecting to them so I can control them works maybe 1 try out of 10. One string won’t take custom static colors anymore, only the preprogrammed options. The off and in schedule works most of the time, but not always!
I dearly wish there was another way to control these, because using XMcosy is close to pointless.
App is complete garbage. The 2.4 ghz issue is ridiculous, even when switched over cannot connect to Wi-Fi. But the real question is this… if I am setting up Bluetooth, why do I have to be Wi-Fi connected? If these are outdoor lights, Wi-Fi and router should be far away, so of course Bluetooth makes more sense. But you cannot setup Bluetooth without Wi-Fi (don’t tell me you have to, if in a cellular network no you don’t)
So maybe first step should be plug them in indoors, set up everything, then install. That sounds really dumb.
Lights randomly work through XMcosy and sometimes don’t. When they don’t want to work, nothing I do helps. Gotta put on my shoes and pants, walk out to the yard and turn them on or off manually. The most frustrating “smart” product I own. No other gadget or product in my house causes me as much frustration.
I removed the lights to reinstall them in hopes that would fix the issue. Nope. Now I can’t connect them to XMcosy no matter what I try. Try adding them by Bluetooth? Nope. Tells me my phone is not connected to WiFi. Why would it be if I’m trying to connect by Bluetooth because I couldn’t get them to connect by WiFi again?
This is the second pair I try. Argh!!!!!
The lights are great…WHEN they work. Frequent disconnect issues make using XMcosy frustrating. Then, it’s not very intuitive if you want to do anything remotely custom or advanced. We expected to be able to create different scenes with various color combinations to run with a single click. Turns out that’s just not possible. A huge design flaw!
Why don’t all these “smart” device apps have a way to change your Wi-Fi connection? Like Govee does. I got a new router - new network name and password. Now I have to plug and unplug 5 or so times, wait for things to blink, hope it connects. You gotta be kidding me. How about an option in settings?
I’ve read the latest reviews and all claim XMcosy is cumbersome. Very frustrating, it had full access to my WI-FI network, Bluetooth was enabled, still no success, so thumbs down 👎🏽
I saw someone mention it’s a white label product which doesn’t surprise me as we had similar issues with weemo products
These lights are good build quality. App is reasonably easy to use. Suffers occasionally disconnection and have to re-add the lights. That’s frustrating… but my BIGGEST complaint, and one that seems east to fix is, the button on the power bar cycles through the preset “scenes” of interesting colors and actions BUT, there is no way to press that button to get the lights to simply turn white!?!? The only way to have them white is through XMcosy !? Makes no sense! I have them installed in my kids play room and my kids don’t have phones! So, to get the lights white they need my help. Why wouldn’t “white” be a preset accessible with the button on the power strip? Why can’t you simple use them offline and still have them set to white? Seems pretty basic.
XMcosy needs to have customizable scene. More user controls. Apparently the LED bulbs are RGBIC addressable, there needs to be an app so the user can create their own color patterns and motion effects. GOVEE sets do it with their app, there is no reason this app can’t have the same features. The selection of scenes in XMcosy are weak and only on gives you any choice. And that is the one for picking only 2 colors. The chasing does not give you any option to change colors or speed. Very disappointing.
Customer service when I bought the lights was outstanding; mine didn’t work and they sent me a new one and let me keep the old one in case I figured it out.. XMcosy however USED TO work great and let me fully customize settings and patterns but now it won’t let me program more than one color or edit an existing pattern anymore. I have several patterned lights throughout my house and just love watching the colors change, so it’s annoying that XMcosy won’t let me do that anymore bc you cannot do it from the buttons on the lamp.
I mostly use my device through an Alexa skill, so I rarely use XMcosy, but it does seem to lose cache every few months and requires me to login again. When I attempt that login again, it actually seems to just be CREATING a new account each time, rather than logging in my existing this app account that I login with my Apple ID. The creation fails with a generic error (likely because I already have an account), so they’re basically forcing you to create an this app account now. This needs to be fixed!
They work very well,
Just wish XMcosy worked better, and they were brighter
The system is great, easy to install and program.
XMcosy worked with my this app+ product, whereas the other one did not. A bit confusing to leave the other (old?) one in XMcosy Store. Hopefully this review helps others, as the old? non working one has all the reviews, making it seem more legit.
These lights work as designed. You hang them and then use XMcosy to connect to your Wi-Fi. My kids and I all download XMcosy and we love to mess around with the different settings to change the light colors. I love the Christmas setting and the red, white and blue setting. Usually, though, we just put them on the soft white setting. Lots of compliments from guests.
I have waited for 4 months to write a review. These lights are really nice. I have them with the timers on my iPhone. I wish they came in a smaller set of colored to sync with these. Would definitely definitely purchase again.
XMcosy+ is very safe to use.
