At last, the cure to invasive Internet legislation!

If you’re an adult who understands the risks of using a computer and have grown tired of these onerous prompts you casually dismiss every time, this plugin is for you! It’s simple, safe, and effective. Take a nice deep breath and enjoy browsing the way it was, before a handful of sanctimonious politicians decided to protect you from yourself with laws and regulations that’ve done nothing except generate noise and foster a cottage industry of popup blockers.

It’s not clear what this does

“ Now browsing without the…”. Without what? HushNagBlocker gives me one sentence of explanation, but it doesn’t fit on the screen. Why would I need to know what it does? I mean, does it say “ok” and accept the cookies on every page? How would I know?

Guys, just describe the goal and/or function of your “thousands of rules running in the background.” It wound be nice to know.

…and making your single display page scalable to fit all phone screens seems like a good idea. Maybe your one sentence would help me out, if I could read it?

The Perfect Example of a Safari Extension

I’m running a PiHole, so I don’t need the ad-blockers that make up 80% of the Safari Extensions right now; all I wanted to was to get rid of those pesky cookie pop-ups, and this did just the trick. Absolutely worth my time and money. I wish I had four hands so I could give HushNagBlocker four thumbs up.

It might help a little

Annoying cookie requests aren't popping up nearly as frequently, however, what I found had me scratching my head. Truth is, there are in fact less cookie pop ups while browsing the internet, but according to my SETTINGS>Safari>>Advanced Setting> Cookie& stored data> I doubt there is significantly less than without the install. It's ok. Skeptical it's doing much but it is tracking and gaining access to every site I visit. I'll probably delete it

Blocks Full Page Screen Shot

I really like HushNagBlocker, however, for weeks I haven’t been able to figure out why I could no longer do full page screenshots in safari and I finally had the idea to delete hush and that fixed it. Not only can I do full page screenshots in Safari now but I can also do them in the DuckDuckGo browser. Please fix this so I can hush the bad stuff again!

Make Catalina min vers?

I read on github that Hush uses APIs that are only in Catalina and Big Sur (I had initially suspected that the limitation was really Safari version, not OS version).

I'm guessing that the further back you go in OS versions, the harder it is to make this work, but if it could be moved down to Catalina, that sounds like it's better within reach, and would be a big boon to those of us who can't yet move to Big Sur (in my case, becasue tools I use for work aren't ready for Big Sur yet).

Simple. Wish I could report outliers more easily.

Once can report outliers not caught by HUSH if they open the standalone app and click a link. It would be nice if there were a Safari Button or menu option from HUSH that would do just that (and it would include the active URL)

Almost 5 star

I still get a lot of nags to accept cookies and allow websites to send me notifications. I would give this 5 stars if the developers would create a plug in that allows you to report from within Safari, rather than having to go to HushNagBlocker and do so more manually.

I definitely see it blocking the majority of sites without breaking their apperance.

Excellent

The mark of great utility: it fades into the background and just becomes part of your everyday life. Plus, it's free and open-source and uses the latest and greatest development practices for Apple platforms. Does it get any better? I wish there were more apps like this on HushNagBlocker Store.

Not worth the hype

If you haven’t been using a content blocker on Safari with iPhone, it might be better than nothing, but better products exist. I don’t know the rules on mentioning other products, but I’m returning to a different product that was much more effective in eliminating auto play video content for news sites that is much more annoying than cookie notifications.

Great extension to improve your browsing experience

This is a "simple" extension, and the description is quite clear about what value it brings. I want to say a few things...

1. Installation is easy, documentation easy too
2. It works, without impacting battery life or performance

Gives me faith in tech

It’s elegant, well-designed, and really seems to work. I’m so used to grubbiness in the tech world these days, so an app like this—designed to actually improve the browsing experience instead of degrading it—feels like a small spark of hope.

DOWNLOAD THIS NOW

HushNagBlocker is single purpose in nature. And it does it's job so well you wouldn't know its there unless you accidently untoggled it. HushNagBlocker is free but based on its ease of use and lack of data collection I would pay $4.99 for it. Wish I could donate to the dev. Everyone needs this extension.

Makes the web less annoying

I've been frustrated with how annoying the web has become. This simple little app solves that problem by removing the annoying stuff. Thank you!

By

The perfect extension, so explain why!!

From the first FAQ question on GitHub:
“Does Hush accept or deny permission to site cookies?”

“Neither! Hush will block specific scripts and elements on the website, but can't and won't interact with the website itself and thus won't click on any buttons. According to GDPR laws the user needs to explicitly consent to non-essential cookies and tracking.”

This is the functionality users want and expect! So tell them about it in your app, don’t make people go to GitHub to find out.

Other than that, this is the perfect extension. Download it!

Simple and effective

It removes a lot of annoying pop ups and banners that crowd up your page without breaking anything. No configuration or account needed. Doesn’t track you or market you.

By

Excellent app and works perfectly

I love not seeing this idiotic cookie notifications.

The only very minor issue is that the startup screen in HushNagBlocker , which you only need once, is unreadable when the phone is in dark mode.

By

great little extension but some sites are stuck

I love the extension but I wanna report that a lot of sites are stuck, some of them really well known. I reported the bugs, I hope the dev can fix it :)

Great work, please keep it up!

Works Wonderfully

The funny thing about Hush is that you don’t really notice that it’s doing anything. It just does its thing and makes the web a little bit less obnoxious.

By

Good idea, but blocks some sites

Gret when it works, which is most of the time. But then, some sites stays greyed out because of the pop-up not showing but still waiting for you to click on. Decided to uninstall it after one too many example of that. Too bad.

Silence is Golden

You don’t notice anything different when using this content blocker until a while later when you realize browsing the Internet was just a bit nicer to use. It gets rid of all of the annoying dickbars that shouldn’t exist in the first place.

By

Simple, unobtrusive, works as billed

So glad there are still developers out there creating high quality, polished apps that work as designed and don’t mine our data. Elegant, dipole, highly recommended.

By

Great App

This is a great app. It's open source, free, does exactly what it says it does, and like other apps with similar functionality you don’t notice it at all when it’s working properly.

Thank you!

The web looks nice again!

This is a must have. I haven't had any problems with it yet. Gets rid of so many annoyances.

By

Does its job, and it’s free.

What more could you ask for? I know: a way to donate to the developer for creating such a fantastic, no-nonsense app that removes the nonsense from today’s web.

By

What a wonderful app

Thank you so much this has improved my life in ways you can't even imagine!

Never has there been a more perfect app

HushNagBlocker is excellent. It does its job without any issues.

Peace and quiet!

Any app that makes browsing more peaceful is an easy decision in my book! Simple, easy, private... win-win-win!

By

Clean and seamless

You don’t even know it’s there, in the best way possible.

By

Simple, works

What more to ask for?

By

Awesome!

Other than white text on the yellow splash screen, this is perfect!

Not clear what this app is doing. Strong suspicion that automatically accepts ALL cookies and nothing else.

Love Hush, but it's a problem for Wordpress designers who use the popular PopupMaker plug-in. The popup overlay is triggered, freezing the screen, but no content displays. If you haven't set up the Close action to work by clicking the overlay (it's not the default), then users are stuck. I also think if a popup is triggered by Click to Open it should not be blocked by Hush.
