READYSAVE 529 Reviews

I really like the Vanguard funds used, very low fees and good historical performance. However, READYSAVE529 is missing basic features like, what is my account’s yield performance in % for the month/year/5 years etc. If I have multiple accounts, how do their yield %s compare and what is my overall yield over multiple time horizons? What is the AA of each fund I invest in? Can I compare my current fund performance to others available in NYSaves? If I have an end goal amount, am I on track to reach it? I understand this is not a day trading app, but a little more sophistication is needed to give it 4-5 stars.

It’s nice to finally have an app for our 529 account, but one of my big frustrations with the web portal has always been how difficult it is to find detailed information about investment performance and to make changes. READYSAVE529 is even less useful. Really the only actions you can take are to add money to your account and check the account balance. It has a chart telling overall performance, but no way to check performance of individual investments, re-balance investments or do anything else.

The returns aren’t stellar. But you do have some choices which is great. If you want to be conservative we have options. The tax benefit is undeniable, at least for the time being. If you’re trying to get by like we are every little bit helps.

The automatic deductions are exactly as described. You can also make additional ones very easily. I have had no problems at all. I recommend this service.

I was skeptic at first, very happy to say first off, the fact I’m leaving a review (positive one) in itself which I rarely do in general, READYSAVE529 is very easy to navigate, user friendly and not at all complicated, when handling apps especially with funds involved, simplicity is key, which READYSAVE529 provides thoroughly

I wish there were a way to handle multiple children’s accounts. The way READYSAVE529 is set up it seems to only access one account and no way to see more than one account?

Please add a feature to list multiple accounts for families with more than one child! This also helps relatives who want to donate as well I think?

Works like a charm. I love how it immediately shows you your balance on the first screen (before I had to click through a bunch to get to the bottom line numbers). Depositing additional money is a breeze too.

Makes log in easier and I would expect it to be safer through READYSAVE529 than in a browser. Anyway, nice to have it on my phone so I can check in on it easily and quickly.

I love that I can see monthly progress. It’s easy to switch between accounts. I would like to request a column to be added under the individual investments section to show the gain/loss per stock. This way it’s easier to see how much of an increase each stock is doing. If it’s decreasing, I could then decide to alter where I put additional funds.

Everything about TIAA-CREF’s 529 plans assumes your beneficiaries are little kids. Think about it—all the marketing images, the program write-ups, and now READYSAVE529 with its ability to make contributions but not withdrawals.

Give them more money and they make more money. They lose money when you make withdrawals, so let’s not make that convenient.

It’s easy to use. Makes it easy to contribute.
I wished I looked it up much earlier.
I had these accts for years, but haven’t added any funds since my kids baptism.
This site makes it easy to add to and monitor the accts.

I love READYSAVE529 but it could be better. I would love to know who the gifts are from. It still doesn’t say so and I hate having to guess and reach out to ask.

We have been getting some gifts to the 529 we started for our son since he just had his birthday. Unfortunately, READYSAVE529 doesn’t allow us to see who sent the gifts, so we can’t thank those people for their contributions…

Application is not very great to understand your return on investment (ROI). For the most part it’s easy to understand everything. It’s very easy to transfer funds and have family donate. Well worth it for your child’s future.

Easy to use, see balances, and make contributions. We make monthly contributions automatically but with READYSAVE529 we’re more inclined to make one time contributions. Everything helps!

READYSAVE529 is fine but it’s missing a lot of features from the full website and that’s disappointing. READYSAVE529 has its purpose and it does it well just wish I didn’t need to login to the site for other features or data that is available from there.

READYSAVE529 allows you to view and contribute to your 529 plan, which is great, but has no other functions. I am not able to arrange withdrawals, view documents, or any of the other functions that the website provides. Our child is in college now, so READYSAVE529 is basically useless for me. I’ll stick to the website.

READYSAVE529 makes all of the account management features I have needed very simple to use. I would say it is one of the best fin-tech apps I’ve used.

Glad there is finally an app. Looking forward to how it will develop over the years. I’ve had an account for the past 3 years and I’m glad I started saving for my kids future. Less stress for us in 15 years.

It’s just a wonderful investment for your children to have for there college life . They are so helpful it’s easy to change your password.

READYSAVE529 does not do the most important thing that it should do, if it is really for 529 customers. It does not enable you to make a distribution (withdrawal). I need to do that on monthly basis for my college student. I think READYSAVE529 is designed to increase the inflow of funds for the 529 investment managers, without increasing the outflow of qualified distributions to customers.

READYSAVE529 only works for making contributions and viewing the fund performance. There is no functionality for withdrawal transactions when your child is in college. You still have to use the MOST website to send payments to the college and to make withdrawals.

I downloaded READYSAVE529 which I thought from the Upromise email that advertised it, said it was free. But why did it say “processing payment” after I download?
