Looks like a lot of possibility - but crashed multiple times in the first 10 minutes.

I was eager to try SmartGardener and was quickly disappointed. I tried using it on my iPad and can’t get the virtual garden layout to work properly. When trying to drag and drop the raised beds onto the grid they disappear off the screen and end up scattered all over. To delete a crop from the raised bed, you have to delete each square individually which is a 3 step process even though I’ve highlighted multiple squares of the same crop that I need to delete. When trying to set up my garden plan, I could not get it to set for fall; each time I tried to select fall 2023, it kicked me out of SmartGardener . I have spent approximately 3 hours trying to set up my plan and simply cannot get SmartGardener to perform. I’ve emailed the developer for a refund and received an automated response promising that they would contact me as soon as possible and have not heard anything else from them. SmartGardener promises to provide all the information needed to set up and manage your garden but simply doesn’t work. So disappointed!

I was under the impression that you could use the garden layout on your phone to build your garden. However, you can only access that through a laptop. I reached out to customer service with 20 minutes of purchasing SmartGardener to ask for a refund and never heard back (the transaction wasn’t even pending at that point). There are definitely more budget and phone friendly apps out there to use.

I use this all the time on my laptop and love it. SmartGardener on the phone does not sync with the program on my app so it’s useless. I signed up for SG because I wanted to be able to use my phone in the garden rather than have to write everything down to transfer later into the program. This is worthless and I can’t sign in for support on my phone because it doesn’t recognize my login credentials.

Found SmartGardener online and was thrilled to see there was an app version. Sadly it does not seem to work past the page to purchase a membership. Even after purchasing the membership you won’t be able to go further than that.

I purchased a subscription for SmartGardener, and am extremely disappointed to discover that SmartGardener won’t recognize that I’ve already bought a subscription. It constantly prompts me to purchase a new membership. I tried contacting the company’s website for help more than a month ago, and haven’t heard from them. SUCH a waste of money.

AppleID login is a lie, don’t fall for it or you are locked into using only SmartGardener and not the website

I have deleted and reinstalled. No luck. What a waste of money.

You must first buy a subscription on a website before you can access anything in SmartGardener .

The site is very slow and SmartGardener is not working. I am assuming their servers are overwhelmed. Poor customer service.

I have the subscription. I’ve had it for a few years and like to be able to go back and see what I’ve planted in seasons past. I was just using it on the website to plan out what I’m growing and where. I’m now using SmartGardener and I love SmartGardener . I write notes for whatever I’m doing in the garden and I love the layout of the journal which sorts my notes under each plant so I can look at my tomatoes next year and see what I did and how it worked and then check out my cucumbers, etc. I’ve tried notebooks and I just never keep up on those and can’t keep them organized, so this has helped a lot.
The con I have is that the garden plan can take some time to get used to. On the phone it can be a little tricky getting the garden beds sized and placed. It’s just tricky to catch the items in the right spot to size and move them. If you have a computer it’s much easier on there. But I still find it fun and useful.

I absolutely love SmartGardener and it has everything that I wanted. Mostly to tell me what to do each week. I gave it four stars because I have to login every time I open SmartGardener on my phone. Can we have a version that stays logged in? Then it would be five stars to me.

I like SmartGardener and the online software a lot! I especially like how it takes all my plants and arranges them properly in regards to height and sun direction. I also like the to-do list which includes the additional plantings of such things as carrots, etc.

Please keep working on SmartGardener as it is legitimately the most gardener-friendly, practical, intelligently thought out gardening app I can find. This would take off if you just kept going. I looked forever and each app doesn’t even come close. Get someone to make the appearance look solid and functionality solid. You take into account all aspects of gardening for beginners and more expert. The ease of adding types and a vast variety at least in the vegetable section I checked out. The ability to edit, journal, have to do’s. Companion planting, succession planting. Fertilization. Advice that’s just useful. Then you can also plan the garden visually. It is similar to the almanac one which I’ve been desperate to have come up with an app. What I don’t want though is an app that just opens a browser. Annoying. I don’t know if this happens with your app.
So, please make it possible to add info to the page of the specific seed/type used. To add to do’s. This must take so much to put together. Don’t be deterred by one bad review. Keep going!!
